So out of curiousity, are the these going to be global changes or WvW specific?
I mean come on. At least share the WvW love with PvE.
The rally and resurrection rules are WvW specific and only apply to players.
How is ppk counted if players from 2 servers contributed damage?
Both get a point?
Both teams would get a point. This question was asked in greater detail one of the previous times PPK was turned on and the answer is still accurate.
Guh, I should have just looked at the achievement data first — the content has the “max” set to 0. Looks like the client totally ignores that field and uses the tier data instead. I’ll update my code to do the same, but it probably won’t be ready until the next release.
In the meanwhile, the terrible workaround is to ignore the “done” and “max” fields from /v2/account/achievements and base them off the tier data in /v2/achievements.
would be great to see more then 10 last games (last 100 games) so we could check our actuall progression over the week etc.
I know it’s suboptimal for a lot of use-cases, but this is highly unlikely to change. You’re going to have to poll the endpoint periodically and store the data locally (or use a site to do it — I’ve been using gw2pvp.de).
Some other pvp stuff I’d like to see …
- In /pvp/games include information on if it was with a guild team, and which one (guild id + team name).
- Statistics on guild teams as shown in the guild panel (likely would require guild leader + guilds permission)
- Unauthenticated endpoint listing top 1,000 in guild challenger league.
Seems reasonable. Here’s a github issue so I don’t forget to do this — again it won’t be ready for the current league, but hopefully it will for the next.
Some clarification on a bit of confusion I saw:
- When a dolyak reaches its destination it contributes to the upgrades of both the objective it is reaching and the camp it started at.
- Rally order is closest-first. Combined with the rally limit of one this means that only the nearest downed player will rally off an enemy death.
- Resurrecting the dead cannot be started in combat, but entering combat while already resurrecting someone will not force you to stop.

164 recette of scribes still not implemented on the API
thanks Xanthic to tell us it’s not still update
https://twitter.com/gw2crafts/status/673861829123178497
Recipes won’t appear in the API until they’re crafted at least once (and then there’s a manual step where I press a button after making sure there’s no junk data). It’ll get there eventually.
-Death/Kills aren’t present on EU match.
This is something I’m looking to get fixed in the future; I’m not really sure why those messages aren’t being propagated between DCs. Not sure when I’ll have it fixed though.
With PPK coming back in the not-that-far future (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/wuv/World-vs-World-Holiday-Sneak-Peek) it would be nice to have that fixed and ready until the release of the hinted update.
Will definitely have it fixed before the WvW changes land, but not before mid-January I think.
/v2/guild/permissions is not located
Were you looking for https://api.guildwars2.com/v2/guild/permissions?
Is there any chance we’ll be able to see the online/offline status of guild members on the roster through the API? I’d love to create a graph to see peak activity times.
Seems reasonable. Created a github issue for this.
All the items/skins/recipes are behind a manual whitelisting step (e.g., I have to click a button before they appear) and I’ve been out sick since mid last week. They should start appearing this morning <3
Thanks for the thorough breakdown, Sampo!
For those interested: we are tracking an issue where the guild mission UI is not tracking progress based missions right now. The game still sees the mission as progressing, but the UI is not. I’ve no ETA on a fix, but for anyone who is worried – as long as you are running WvW progress based missions with at least three of you in the same guild, or are running sPvP missions with a guild team – the game should recognize you’ve accomplished the missions successfully and give you the rewards.
Please do that. It helps us immensely in cutting down on RMT spam, and, more importantly, on nailing the people who steal accounts. (It’s often a stolen account being used to advertise, so your report can help on two levels.)

Everyone’s opinion has value.
I simply believe that our rules against harassment encompass this sort of situation, where there’s no legitimate reason to shout spoilers in game and that the only motivation would seem to be a desire to cause distress to others. That would seems to make such activities reportable offenses that our CS agents will analyze and react to, as appropriate. (And let’s be clear, this was not a conversation, this was merely one person trying his/her best to spoil the movie for as many players a possible. Some sort of warped sense of power, perhaps? Who knows??)
As we have always said, players are welcome to report questionable chat or comments about which they have concerns. And as Elden Arnaas mentioned, each situation will be reviewed and acted upon, or not, after an analysis by the team.
As to timing, with theatres sold out for days and day, even those with a heavy devotion to the film series may simply not have been able to see it yet. What’s a good shelf date for “No spoilers, please?” (And remember, I’m talking only the very current spoiler, not the ending of Anna Karenina.
) I’m willing to ask CS, and I’d like to have opinions here. Maybe one week? Two weeks? What do you think?

Not 100%, but sometimes I just wish bad bad things regarding some people in games.
So a guy is in LA spamming Star Wars spoilers. Nice.
PS: I’ve seen it already but C’MON!
Report it. Please!!
Why on earth is this reportable? So does this mean that no one can talk about any book, movie, or show that other people might not have seen because someone might get upset that it was spoiled? Or is it just new things? Or just a certain degree of popularity? Is there some special rubric to determine what is a reportable spoiler or not? Seriously, what makes someone talking about the new Star Wars movie a reportable offense?
I ask that you read my comments above to understand. I think I addressed your questions (before you posted them) with a reference to the immediacy of this situation.
I feel sure I made clear that I was stating my personal opinion and that I have sought an official stance and policy from Customer Support. From what I’m told, this person isn’t engaging in a conversation, isn’t interacting with others. He or she has chosen to stand in the heart of Tyria spewing spoilers. That seems antagonistic towards other players; that seems anti-community and disrespectful.
You may disagree. Heck, Customer Support may disagree. But I feel that there is nothing that our community gains with such actions, and there is something that they lose so I encourage players to allow CS to make the final decision.

can i report someone for this cause that kitten is NOT COOL
Let me be clear about my earlier comment. At this point, I recommend that players who witness this do report the player who is posting spoilers using the in-game tool. In my opinion, spoilers are beyond rude, they’re intended to cause distress to others. I’ve asked CS for an official position, but I would recommend that you flag and report spoiler-ish comments and let the CS agents make a determination.
P.S. This applies to the current topic — Episode 7 — and does not include “Someone is someone’s father” or “Rosebud is…” or “Soylent Green is…” or any of the classic spoilers of days gone by.

Hi Gaile, thanks for this info, it’s a huge relief for me and anyone else trying to complete the Winter’s Presence shoulders. However, I do have a few questions that I would like to ask, and hope you have the answers to.
- Will the candy cane achievement be given similar treatment? It’s not required for the shoulders, but it’s still one that is on a similar progression scale as Festive Imbiber.
- Will FI and the candy cane achievement progress the Wintersday meta after Jan 12? This is mainly a curiosity thing, am interested to know if the meta achieve will be locked after Jan 12 is over, even though anyone that really wants the meta won’t need it.
- Will FI and the candy cane achievement’s progress carry to next Wintersday, similar to the Grawnk ones did from last year? Just another curiosity deal.
I will see what I can learn about these questions, as well. Thank you, Kamui.

Does this mean we will still be able to get Winters Presence after wintersday? or is only the (Festive Imbibier) achievement still available? I really don’t care for the achievement I just want Winters Presence Skin…
I will ask to be certain I give you the best answer. Thanks for the question.

Hey friends,
We are investigating the issues with the guild missions, but I cannot give an eta on any fixes for them them currently. =(
That said, thank you all for continuing to look out for guilds and the guild halls content! And as the holidays approach, I wish you all a very Merry Wintersday!
May you all be Faren well this holiday season. =p
Thanks very much for the early feedback. Please do continue to share your thoughts, and if you could point other players to this thread so that they can share their insights, all the better!
I’ll be around for some days before the holidays, but I wanted to take this chance to wish all of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

A message from the World vs World Team:
Before the holiday season is fully upon us we wanted to give you all a sneak peek of some changes that are coming to WvW. Before we jump into the changes, we just want to make it very clear that the changes you’ll read about below are not a part of the big World vs World update that we’ve previously mentioned. This update is the first of what we hope are more regular updates to the existing core of World vs. World. We are looking forward to sharing the details of the bigger World vs World project with you in the future, but we’re not quite ready yet.
And now for that sneak peek:
- Objectives upgrades will no longer be automatic based on time. They will upgrade based on dolyaks that reach them. Smaller groups can now prevent an objective from upgrading by preventing dolyaks from reaching that objective.
- Supply cost for all catapults are being reduced by ten supply. The layout of the Desert Borderlands map has increased the number of catapults required to take some objectives. We agree with your feedback that also increasing the cost of catapults pushed the balance too far towards defense so we are tuning that more towards offense.
- Points per kill will be turned on and kept on. This is to more directly recognize the contribution that fighting other players adds to the success of the world.
- The number of players who can rally off a single kill has been reduced from five to one. Players will also no longer be able to revive defeated players while in combat. You still will be able to revive downed players while in combat. Both of these changes are designed to help fights resolve and to give smaller, more skilled groups a better chance against larger groups.
Please let us know what you think of these changes. We’re going to hold off on picking a release date until we have a chance to review your feedback, but we’d like to target early 2016. So please add your feedback about these proposals to this thread.
We also wanted to express our thanks to Reyana and the commanders she has been talking with in her World vs World Commander Interview series. Reyana is a dedicated member of the WvW community and a WvW streamer. She has brought together a diverse group of community leaders to constructively share different perspectives on how they play with their guilds, and our team has taken a lot of the commanders’ feedback to heart. Reyana has put a lot of effort into organizing these interviews and we want everyone to know that the efforts that she and the commanders made have been greatly appreciated.
Have a very Happy Holiday!

Still no fix on chapter 7 rewards.
Sadness.
Can you be more specific?
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed a bug in which UI preferences were sometimes being reset upon exiting the client.
- Fixed a remaining issue with the Ogre Lane Defender achievement.
Hi -
If you don’t channel and instead just press the 2 key it explodes right in front of you, as if it is hitting an invisible wall. We’ve confirmed on live that this hero point is possible to get and observed several other players earning it as well.
After the 2013 Toypocalypse there were changes to the game that broke the underlying functionality for Toypocalypse. For 2014 the team was trying to fix the bug (and really, they went up past the absolute last second to try and fix it) but ultimately had to decide between the activity working or being cut – it was that unplayable. It wasn’t a lightly made decision, especially since it had worked the year before and players liked it.
The team would still like to fix it but it isn’t a simple switch or anything. Reverting the change would break significant other parts of the game.
Soo…. I would rather queue with friends too, but I’d also like to be able to do the activity. It’s a rough tossup.
There’s a fix on one of the January releases.

We’ve noticed that you’ve had a few questions about Wintersday, and specifically about the Wintersday Presence Collection. We’d like to share the following info with you:
- Wintersday is scheduled to end on January 12, 2016.
- We will be leaving the Festive Imbiber achievement active throughout the year.
- We will not be able to change the text that indicates it’s a Wintersday-only achievement, but you will be able to continue to imbide (in moderation, please – think of the dolyak children!) to gain that achievement.
Enjoy the festival and we’ll see you in the game!

As a note, I probably won’t be able to get to more pvp stuff this year (which means it won’t be ready by the end of the league) — busy with guild stuff and bugfixes — but adding new features is something that I want to start on soon. Since it’s probably going to involve changes that get pretty far from my usual domain I’m estimating like a month of work to get all the bits and pieces I want out of the game server and into the API.
/pvp/stats:
Is there a possibility to get some Info about progress in the actual (and perhaps last?) ladder (the division and tier for example, it’s not necessary for me to know the exact points in a tier)
So, the leagues are all data-driven, so we’re going to need a new endpoint like /pvp/leagues that dumps out the names, how many pips are required, rules, and pip images and stuff. After that, getting the user’s current league standing is pretty straightforward.
/pvp/games:
Can you please add a field for arena-type (ranked / unranked) and perhaps the ladder progression (how much pips the person lost/won in this game).
Yep, definitely something I’m going to look into adding. I’m actually kind of surprised that the ladder isn’t included in that endpoint already >_>
As context — the API frontend keeps a list of all ids for a given resource, sorted by id (basically what’s emitted when you request e.g. /v2/specializations). When a page is requested, it’s sliced out of the sorted id list, then each resource is fetched asynchronously from a backend server. For ?ids, it just uses the id list passed in. The asynchronous bit causes the output order to get shuffled a bit (which is still on the backlog to fix).
Ids can basically be added in anywhere — our content does not guarantee a monotonically incrementing id. Because of that, only requesting pages means that you’ll always have to do a full re-fetch of the entire dataset to find all resources (and the contents will shift around on the pages). For finding new stuff, the recommended approach is to just grab the list of all ids, diff against the set you’ve already got, then request what’s missing from your local set via ?ids. You’ll probably also want to re-fetch everything whenever a new release comes out because sometimes old items are updated.
Here’s some information on this situation for you: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Option-Reset-Bug (There was an earlier thread on these forums, but I had not seen it at the time I wrote the response (but updated when I spotted it).

Get a QA department, and stop relying on the players and your good server infrastructure to handle everything.
I assure you, we have an extensive QA Department.
As you may have noticed, this is a quirky bug, in that it doesn’t affect everyone, and those it impacts are seeing different outcomes. For instance, I had my auto-loot turn off, someone else had his double-click reset… It’s not a simple “This happens for everyone, all the time” situation.
Testing is more challenging than more players realize. I hope you’ll be understanding about this, and note that this is an odd situation that will be addressed as soon as possible.
After the last build, a bug developed where some players’ options were resetting. I know in my case, my “auto-loot” option went away, and my choice to not show the Personal Story reset to show the story by default. Nothing major, but a bit noticeable. (In another case, someone got to the end of a jumping puzzle and learned that the double-tap reactivated on his account and he fell to an untimely and messy death.
)
Anyway, we wanted you to know that a fix for this issue is being tested right now, and once it passes all the necessary checks and validations, we’ll be rolling out this fix to make sure your settings stay set.

Hey, there are a lot of methods for getting more performance out of your system. I’d recommend putting in a ticket so that we can run through some of those options in detail with you. =)
Some additional PS Restoration fixes went live on the 15th:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/updates/Game-Update-Notes-December-15-2015
Personal Story
- Updated the required level messaging for “Against the Corruption,” “Cathedral of Silence,” “Romke’s Final Voyage,” and “Source of Orr” from 70 to 80.
- Updated “Against the Corruption,” “Cathedral of Silence,” and “Romke’s Final Voyage” to give out level-appropriate rewards.
A lot of my members have the join date as null. I’m guessing that’s because this was only tracked after a certain date and those people joined before that date.
What is that date?
Looks like the change that added join time tracking was integrated into the live branch on March 19, 2013. Usually once something’s on the live branch it’s live in a matter of days, but I’m not sure where the deploy logs live (or how to query them) so I’m not sure I can get more accurate than that.
Bug Fixes:
- Gorseval’s ghostly minions will now correctly pursue players during the encounter.
- Fixed a bug that caused the Preserved Queen Bee item to be replaced with the Winter’s Presence upgrade. Preserved Queen Bee items have been restored.
- Fixed an issue with guild experience showing the wrong value on the Guild Panel UI.
- Fixed a bug in which players could sometimes get dishonor without leaving a PvP match.

Most of these have been raised on the github issue tracker, but going through one-by-one:
Daily/Monthly AP not included (probably missing in the API?)
Daily achievements not getting reported as completed
Due to an oversight on my part, daily/monthly AP totals aren’t currently provided. I’m going to put them on the /v2/account endpoint with the “progression” scope. The current daily progress is kind of a nightmare to expose; I haven’t figured out a good way to handle it.
Repeatable achievements not working properly
They’re working kind of properly, the API just doesn’t expose enough data for applications to make sense of it (oversight on my part). The proposed fix for this is here.
I think most of the missing achievements are achievements which are invisible until you reached at least 1 goal of it.
Yep, that’s exactly it. I was shooting to have the missing achievements fixed for the Wintersday release, but there were some unexpected setbacks so they should appear with the next release instead.
Also I heared from other players, that some achievements (such as Undefeated from Spirit Vale category, possibly needs 1 of the 3 goals completed) report as completed in the API, even if you have not completed it in reality. Cannot confirm this though, since I got most achievements done.
If you can find one, it’d be really useful to get an API key that has the achievement marked as completed in the API but not in-game. You can send me a PM on the forums with the offending key; that’ll help a bunch in tracking down the issue.
If you need more details about it please say so
Can you PM me the API key you’re using?
Both of those tables are inaccurate. I just got my official wiki account, and I’ve slowly started to update the matchmaking page. I will try and update the ladder point tables today.
