Players on the legendary journey for Astralaria III will encounter a bug involving Meteorite Ingots. Currently the recipe only provides 1 ingot, where it is intended to provide 25. We plan to fix that recipe bug as soon as we can.

If you craft only 1 Ingot before the recipe fix, all is not lost. After the recipe fix, you may speak with Grandmaster Craftsman Hobbs in Lion’s Arch and choose the conversation option “I have misplaced a vital component for crafting my Legendary.” For a small amount of Karma, you will be able to purchase Meteorite Ingots in stacks of 5. Only 25 are required for this collection.

We wanted to let you know about this before all you legendary crafters run into the issue and as we said, we’ll get this corrected as soon as we can.

If I wanted to filter out all unobtainable achievements, I’m pretty sure there’s no way of doing that without going in manually. Is there any chance this will be added in the future or am I missing something?

I just turned on /v2/achievements/groups and /v2/achievements/categories which provide the information that’s used to display achievements in the UI. With that, you should be able to filter out everything that’s not displayed in the UI (though … I think all of the achievements are in there somewhere). Those endpoints should make it a bit more straightforward to make sense of all the achievements.

Forfeit is because someone on your team deserted and you lost. This is to separate it from a full defeat.

What about “bye”?

Yea the difference with me and some of the others tho, is that i actually got reward chest + 1500 win points and i left after we had 500 points (the way it always have been) yet the game decided to turn me into a deserter and i didnt get my +1 pip and i worked so hard for it Q.Q

If this is a problem, and recipe sheets can now unlock multiple recipes, this would affect some more of the new precursor “bulk” recipe boxes, too.

Hrm, so recipe unlock items have a new field “extra recipe unlocks”. I’ll need to update /v2/items to expose that — probably won’t have a fix until the patch after next though

It’s the union — the data for the PvP stats endpoint is coming from a component that handles MMR bits, so it’s all aggregated (e.g. to prevent smurfing). There isn’t currently a way to get per-character PvP data — one way in the future will probably to be to pull the match history and aggregate it yourself, but the match history endpoint doesn’t currently have the character names. It’s something I’d like to see in the future but it’s still a ways out.

Just as a heads up, the Mastery Points for Personal Story are awarded on a per-chapter basis. So once you complete Chapter 1 and earn the Achievement for it, you’ve earned the Mastery Point for Chapter 1. This includes each different starting storyline: I believe the right names are: Graduation Day, For The Legion!, Crime and Punishment, Rising to the Challenge, and Waking from the Nightmare. Similarly, whichever Order you join, there’s just one Mastery Point there.
Hopefully this helps clarify the total number of Mastery Points you should be expecting from your previous accomplishments in Tyria. That said, the different stories really are fantastic, and should definitely be experienced, but for your own pleasure, and not for Mastery Points.
If any of you still think you are missing MPs from Achievements you’ve completed, let us know via the in-game Bug Report tool and we’ll try to identify if there’s a bigger issue happening.

It seems kind of silly to let people speculate and get their hopes up about the fractal changes dropping today when you guys knew it was never part of the plan. A simple “It won’t be the coming with the December 1st patch” would have done.

To be clear, speculation isn’t something we can control, nor will we bounce into every thread that contains a speculative comment to try address it. We did not announce, and never planned for, a drop on December 1st. If you are disappointed, I really am sorry to hear that. I’m familiar with speculation — we had a lot of it as we prepared to release Guild Wars, Guild Wars 2, Guil… well, you follow my drift. It’s part of the nature of our sharing info about upcoming games, features, or improvements, that someone will speculate a date and that the date — even while never stated by us — may come to be seen as “obvious” or even “official.”

In this case, we wanted to share the news that good things are coming, but as in other cases, a date was not tied to that info.

I just checked with Production, and everything is on track to see the introduction of fractal changes later this month.

    • Fixed a bug that could prevent “Help Faren train to be a swordsmaster” from ending.
  • Auric Basin
    • Fixed a bug in which Sage Volaar’s head would talk over Dawkkurra’s voice in a cinematic.
  • Tangled Depths
    • Fixed a rare bug that would prevent the egg barrel from spawning during “Collect chak eggs so the ogres can research them,” blocking event progress.
    • Reduced the difficulty scaling for “Collect chak eggs so the ogres can research them,” lowering the time it takes to complete with large groups of players.
    • Fixed a bug that would create too many veteran cave spiders during “Escort Nokta into the Great Tree as he looks for potential pets.”
    • Fixed a bug that would cause Nokta the Tracker to exhibit strange movement patterns during “Kill the champion bat so Nokta can return his pets to camp.”

  • Fixed a bug in which players were able to spend items that had been soulbound to another character at vendors.

  • The Gift of Fortune can now be salvaged into its base materials.
  • Superior Rune of Thorns: Updated the text for the effect this rune set applies for when the wearer is struck by a poisoned enemy.
  • Players are more likely to get the invisible mushroom spore for the profession they are playing as.
  • Loot bags received in Magus Falls now indicate if they are affected by magic find.
  • Fighting the chak gerent in Tangled Depths now has a chance to give chak eggs even if the event fails.
  • Night bosses in Verdant Brink have had their rewards updated.
  • Several boss events in Tangled Depths have had their rewards improved, and they now have a chance to give chak eggs.
  • Updated the map completion rewards for Southsun Cove to better reflect the effort required.

Profession Skills
Elementalist

  • Rebound: Fixed a bug that allowed elementalists to revive when Vapor Form ends.
  • Lucid Singularity: Fixed an issue that caused this trait to not reduce crippled and chilled durations by 100%. Fixed a bug that caused this trait to heal in a radius when completing an overload.
  • Speedy Conduit: Fixed an issue that caused this trait to apply 5 seconds of swiftness instead of the intended 8.
  • Overload Fire: Fixed an issue that caused the effects of this ability to scale with the character’s size.
  • Overload Water: Fixed an issue that caused the effects of this ability to scale with the character’s size.
  • “Wash the Pain Away!”: Reduced the visual noise on the effects associated with this skill.
  • “Flash-Freeze!”: Reduced the visual noise on the effects associated with this skill.
  • “Feel the Burn!”: Reduced the visual noise on the effects associated with this skill.
  • The following skills have had their effects replaced with a new version to reduce visual noise: Frost Aura, Magnetic Aura, Shocking Aura, and Fire Shield.
  • Tempest: Updated overload-readied voice-over to not play as frequently when moving in and out of water.

Engineer

  • Detection Pulse: Fixed a bug so that the radius of 600 is correctly displayed.

Guardian

  • Shield of Courage: The text of this ability has been updated to indicate that it blocks all attacks for allies in the area (and the guardian from the front) while leaving the guardian vulnerable from the flanks.

Mesmer

  • Chronomancer—Well of Eternity: Increased the level multiplier for the initial healing on this skill by 25% to match the intended value shown in the skill facts.
  • Illusionary Wave: Fixed a bug that caused the knockback from this skill to occasionally fail when the trait Imagined Burden was equipped.
  • Chaos Armor: The visual effects have been replaced with a new version to reduce visual noise.

Necromancer

  • Reaper—Relentless Pursuit: Fixed a bug that caused the decreased condition reduction to not function correctly while in Reaper’s Shroud.
  • Executioner’s Scythe: Reduced the visual noise on the effects associated with this skill.

Ranger

  • Ancestral Grace: Fixed a bug that caused this skill to place the player in combat upon completion.
  • Invigorating Bond: Fixed a bug with this trait that was preventing some pet F2 skills from displaying the updated skill facts.
  • Wilting Strike: Fixed a bug with this trait that was preventing some pet F2 skills from displaying the updated skill facts.
  • Go for the Eyes: Fixed an issue that allowed this ability to trigger blindness at an incredibly fast rate. This trait now has a 12-second internal cooldown.
  • Grace of the Land: Updated the skill facts from the effect granted by this trait to correctly reflect that each stack grants 3% damage instead of 2%.
  • Electric Wyvern—Lightning Assault: Updated skill facts to reflect the launch being performed.
  • Bristleback: Fixed a bug causing this pet’s effective health to be greater than intended.

Revenant

  • Assassin’s Annihilation: Fixed an issue that prevented this trait from showing up in the combat log.
  • Coalescence of Ruin: Fixed an issue that prevented this ability from dealing damage at the very edge of its range. Updated the effects to portray its combat regions more accurately.

Thief

  • Weakening Strikes: Updated the trait facts to include the damage reduction from weakened enemies (10%).

Structured Player vs. Player

  • Added game history to the PvP panel’s home tab.
  • Added game history to the guild panel’s guild-team tab.
  • Added an admin list to custom-arena customization.
  • Removed rank restriction from Conquest game mode.
  • Added a dismiss button to the match-ready prompt.

Forest of Niflhel

  • Removed the rocks at the top of the columns at the Henge capture point.

PvP League Season Begins!

  • Play in Ranked Arena to compete in the PvP League season.
  • Climb tiers and divisions to prove your worth in the PvP leagues.
  • Upon entering a division, players are rewarded with unique nameplate badges and PvP League tickets.

Guild Challenger League

  • Play in Ranked Arena as a guild team to participate in the Guild Challenger League.
  • Guild Challenger League is based off the ELO rating type.
  • The top 250 teams will receive a trophy based on their placement for their guild hall.
  • The top 1,000 teams receive some materials to help restore their guild arena.

PvP Legendary Journey—The Ascension

  • Participating in Ranked Arena advances the journey for the Ascension.
  • The Ascension is created from:
    • Gift of the Competitor: Obtained by combining the 4 pieces in the Mystic Forge.
      • Each piece is awarded from completing each of the 4 meta-achievements.
    • Gift of Skirmishing: Obtained by combining various items into the Mystic Forge.
      • 250 Shards of Glory
        • Obtained from reward tracks and PvP League.
      • 1 Perfect Mist Core
        • Obtained by combining 4 mist core fragments in the Mystic Forge.
        • 1 – 2 mist core fragments are obtained by finishing the Glorious Reward Track.
      • 5 Certificate[s] of Support
        • Purchased from the League Vendor.
      • 2 Vision Crystals
    • Gift of Fortune: Not yet available at this time.
    • Precursor: Obtained by combining all 4 tiers of Glorious Wings in the Mystic Forge.
      • The 4 tiers of Glorious Wings can be purchased from the League Vendor.

World vs. World

  • Chests of the Mists will no longer be available from bonus rank-up chests, but they can still be obtained from standard rank-up chests.
  • Significantly increased the number of Proofs of Heroics awarded from Chests of the Mists.
  • Slightly increased the number of Memories of Battle awarded from Chests of the Mists.
  • Any new Chests of the Mists dropped are now soulbound on acquire, as well as stackable.
  • Fixed a few ambient creatures to prevent players from rallying off their deaths.
  • The Auto Turret upgrade now correctly activates turrets at Stonemist Castle.
  • Fixed keep and castle walls such that there are no longer a few odd ranged attacks that pass through them.
  • Catapult boulders are now effective against barricades.
  • Fixed experience rewards for repairing metal walls using characters with a level 2 or higher Repair Master ability.
  • Jerrifer and Ogrewatch guards will no longer engage ambient critters in combat.
  • Fixed a bug in which wood, stone, and metal walls would be visible, stacked on top of each other, right after a new build or reset.
  • Fixed a bug that allowed contestable keep waypoints to be available for a few seconds in between repel events.

Guild

  • An NPC has been added to the end of guild rushes that allows guild members, with permission, to end the mission early, and grants them favor before the timer runs out.
  • Fixed a bug on the Quaggan Paddle guild mission. Guilds that did not place the banner to start the race now can receive credit.
  • The guild hall market’s Guild Trader now always sells resonating slivers for 1 commendation each.
  • Crystalline ore has been removed from the cost of basic decorations.

BLACK LION TRADING COMPANY GEM STORE
New Items and Promotions

  • A new Slayer’s Outfit is available in the Style category of the Gem Store for 700 gems.
  • A new set of Merciless weapon skins is available at Black Lion Weapons Specialists for 1 ticket for a limited time.
  • The new Winter Chimes Dye Kit brings new variety and depth to metallic colors, found in the Special category of the Gem Store.
  • Wintersday finishers have returned to the Upgrades category. Finalize your opponents with a snowman, a stack of gifts, or a random snow globe.
  • Winter’s Bite and Wintersday weapons are available again at Black Lion Weapons Specialists for 2 tickets during the Wintersday season.

Bug Fixes

  • Gifting from the Gem Store now requires a full account without economy restrictions.

The details tab only shows up when there are details like roster sizes. If there is no details tab then everyone is solo. This tab will also show league badges in Ranked.

All recipes has the type “Dye” and the array of disciplines is empty.
Could it be this recipes shoukd not exist?

Uhh, hmm. I went ahead and whitelisted the items, but after pulling up those recipes it indeed seems they are not craftable by any disciplines. I’m not really sure why they exist (or why they’re in the API), so I’m hesitant to blacklist them outright.

I’ll think about it for a bit and then probably remove them — if they’re uncraftable it doesn’t make sense to keep them around.

I don’t think there’s one, no. Off the top of my head, you’re missing the page out of range error, and then a handful of errors which indicate something is horribly horribly wrong (e.g., ErrUnknown).

To put it in SQL terms, I’d like to have more options/indexes for WHERE conditions, but my post was not at all about JOIN (i.e. recursion).

The API doesn’t talk to any relational databases; the recipe search endpoints are using hand-rolled indexes. This doesn’t really scale in a sane way; it would be ideal to toss all of the data into a more production-ready indexing solution (read: hand-normalize it into SQL, or toss is into an indexed document store ala Lucene) but we don’t really have the resources to set up and maintain additional third-party software solutions.

Hi all,

I just wanted to let you know that we’re aiming to activate the PvP League and the Guild Challenger League at 12pm Pacific on December 1 (tomorrow), which is a few hours after the release goes live. We’re introducing a number of new systems and we’d like to take a few hours to make sure they’re stable on live servers before fully activating leagues.

F6 is one of the current default keybinds for taking a screenshot.

Can you please fix this? I occasionally have to play on a Mac, and every time I do it switches my screenshot key to F6, but it never switches back to PrintScreen when I play on PC again.

The defaults are Printscreen and F6 across both platforms. There was a time when Mac had an override though, but that was removed around the time Heart of Thorns launched.

It’s a very hard to repro bug, so it’s been looked at a few times but no one has been able to definitively “fix” it. I’m going to try adding some redundancies to make it more stable overall, especially if any of the NPCs get killed or distracted by combat in the middle of a scene.

This is a bug that keeps popping up even though we keep fixing it. I’m trying to reproduce it with the small inventory and I’m not succeeding, is there anything else you can tell me? Are you changing zones a lot, are you selling thing from there, salvaging frequently? Any info you can give me will help me track this down (again).

As mentioned in the Guild Wars 2 Rules of Conduct (emphasis mine):

custom arenas also don’t count towards your total matches played anymore, think it changed around one of the bwe’s, not that u directly axed but tangential

Selected members of the following guilds will be testing:

  • Ethereal Guardians [EG]

Hey Community Creations Folks!

Lizzie and I just completed our third edition of Community Showcase Live on our Twitch channel. The show will be rebroadcast this afternoon and, most likely, again tomorrow morning Europe time, and the November Episode is now available on YouTube, where you also can find the September and October episodes, as well.

We wanted to be sure you knew a few things:

  • Our next episode of Community Showcase Live will air on Wednesday, December 16 at Noon Pacific time
  • The theme for that show will be Wintersday, including festival images as well as seasonal and holiday art
  • We will be selecting art for December’s show the week preceding the air date, so please consider uploading to the forums or Tumblr by December 8th.
  • Please share your art here, in this section of the official forums, or on Tumblr, using the hashtag #GW2FanSubmission.
  • All sorts of art is welcome, from drawings to cosplay, from sculptures to plushies, and from videos to gifs.

One Hero Point Temporarily Disabled

Hey all,

Just a note to say that we’ve disabled one of the hero points in Auric Basin for a little while to allow the team to fix an exploit with—of all things—poisoned bacon.

The devs will get a fix in very soon and you’ll soon be able to acquire that hero point soon.

I have all the data now. You played everyone one of those games in a 3-man party, which will bump up your effective MMR for matchmaking. Prior to that day you played solo or duo mostly. The performance of your team must not be as good as the MMR bump is trying to account for in premades, so your MMR is adjusting downward to accommodate.

Thanks for looking into this. It’s a relief to know that my MMR is adjusting downwards at least. What still confuses me is, if I remember correctly, we were matched against a lot of 2-3-4-5 man teams that day, who should also get the MMR bump you mentioned. So for whatever reason, the team I was running with just didn’t warrant the bump?

You’re right that other teams you were matched against would have the same bump. It’s possible they were coordinating more or had more practice than your team.

It’s cool the community has the tools to find things like this. We saw the same thing and updated the matchmaking to remove the color bias so metrics were prettier. There will always be a best and worst player in the match and we can never make perfectly even teams, but we can at least make sure the best player doesn’t always end up on the same team color

Pretty sure Everyone,s MMR will reset for when leaderboards open soon , well i hope so anyways . Q for Evan , is MMR bound to both unranked/ranked or separate ? , I do hope its separate so new players n vets get separated from unranked/ranked players

It is separate. Also since noone will have played ranked in a while, everyone’s ratings will be more volatile than normal. This will help shake things up a bit.

As part of the Glicko algorithm, not playing increases your deviation over time, which controls how much your rating adjusts each update. Since ranked has been disabled, there will be ~4 weeks of inactivity for everyone’s ranked MMR.
