It sounds like your filter settings somehow changed. Have you tried fiddling with them?
The intended design is that you should receive the achievement for initially entering legendary (1x). We’re still investigating the issue and will update as soon as we can.
Thanks for the report! We’re aware that this fix didn’t make it out as intended, and hope to have it resolved as soon as possible.
We’re aware of this issue, and working on the fix. Thanks for the report!
The change to long queue times went out last night, so this is the result of that. The search range is clearly expanding too much, so we’ll reconfigure it to be a tighter search again.
The proposal sounds as if it would require some complicated development, and I believe that investing time to change a system, when we already have a system that works, would be the most productive use of developers’ time.
Personal opinion: If it ain’t broke…

Bug Fixes:
- Fixed a client crash.
- Fixed a bug that could allow players to glide indefinitely without having trained Advanced Gliding Mastery. Deploying your glider now requires a small amount of gliding endurance.
We’re looking into both the account binding and the persistent winter weather effects. We’ll let you know when we have more info. Thanks for reporting this! I may be contacting some of you individually to gather more information.
Hi Eluveitie.1290,
First of all, I’m sorry that this happened to you. Unfortunately, as some players have said, there’s nothing we can do to help with this in-game situation.
However, “we” can change the wording that is used on the wiki and that it seems led you to believe something that is not accurate. This way we’ll remove room for interpretation and hopefully avoid anyone else ending up in this situation.
I used “we” between brackets above because the content of the wiki is entirely created by players that volunteer their time to this amazing task (they’re called “editors”). There are several ways for these changes to happen:
- you could directly modify the pages to clarify the confusing parts by yourself: click on the “edit” button at the top of the article; I’d advise to create a wiki account first but you can still edit without it and will then be identified by your IP address on the wiki
- if an editor is reading this thread, maybe they’ll do this change
- we can share this information with the community of wiki editors: click on the link “leave article feedback” at the top of the article, share the information in the textbox and click the “Save” button when you’re done; this feedback may be read by editors who can then decide what changes are needed (if any) and how to format these changes.
I’d suggest to you or anyone in this thread who would contribute to the wiki on that particular topic, you should look in the direction of all the other legendaries, in case similar wording is used. You can click at the bottom of the Frostfang article the “Legendary weapons” link to see the corresponding category: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Category:Legendary_weapons
It’s also probably worth looking at the article about Legendary Weapons, because clarifying the wording could benefit a lot of players: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Legendary_weapon
Thanks.
Yeah, this patch just added backend support for whitelisting achievements. I need to go through and bless all the ones that should be exposed — I’ll take care of that later this week.
The 2015 Wintersday achievements were likely marked as “hidden” in this release so they don’t appear unless they’re unlocked. They’ll reappear once they’re manually whitelisted.
Confirmed: We play our game.
Personally, I play every day after work and on weekend, too. (I did a lot of Toypocalypse over the holidays — man I love that as much as Dragon’s Nest in Guild Wars!) Anyway, when I’m online I see many of my fellow Anet folks online, too! We’re an active bunch.
As others have pointed out, for tracking or chat recording or other purposes, we don’t need bots. As the saying goes, “We have the technology.” (Bonus points for knowing the source.

Yes, that’s what I did. You can save in storage, put on an extra character, etc. I save mine from year to year.
Gaile, I think you should suggest to the team that we need a “purging” event (for good rewards and trade ins)… There are lots and lots and lots of things clogging up the BLTC..
Interesting idea! I had a Monty Python and the Holy Grail flash: Instead of “Bring out your dead” we have “Bring out your dead/useless/valueless items.”
YES! That would be so awesome!
Btw , we know you are THE mastermind behind all operations, so make them make it so!
Thanks Gaile!
Pffft. I’m the last person to be mastermind-y, but I think it’s interesting, and I know the devs read this forum, so we’ll see if they start riffing on this general idea.
Personally, I think it would be awesome to have the vendor as a Skritt walking around town with a wheelbarrow shouting “Bring out yer shinies!”

This issue is a non-issue. The notes clearly state:
Shared Inventory Slots are now available starting at 700 gems each in the Upgrade category of the Gem Store. These slots will allow an item placed in them to be accessible by any character on the account. These slots will appear at the top of your inventory once purchased. Each account can have up to 5 Shared Inventory Slots at this time.
At no time are they called “bags.” Calling this a “scam” is offensive and inaccurate.

This is because forfeits (not losing points with teammate disconnects) are effectively disabled while we fix the dishonor false positives that were happening much more frequently than actual disconnects.

We’ve coalescing feedback, comments, and questions about the new Shared Inventory Slots, as released in today’s game update. This will allow the team to better review your input and to answer questions, as well.
Apologies if the merging causes some comment reordering, but this really is more helpful and efficient than having multiple, concurrent discussions on the same topic. For instance, a few threads ask about gem refunds related to in-game items that were purchased for individual accounts and which now can be shared. With this thread, we all can view dev and player comments about the situation.
Thanks for understanding.

However, when I browse through the options for creating a support ticket, I only see the option to get game/gem purchases refunded. However, what players like the OP or me are looking for is getting gems refunded.
There was a similar issue with the introduction of the wardrobe and back then some GM posted instructions on what exactly has to be selected when creating the support ticket. Unfortunately, I cannot find that old post anymore.
Any pointers on what options to best pick in order to get this right? Thank you
Really you can select anything on the ticket form and your ticket will get to the right person eventually. In this case, I would suggest “In-game Issue” and then “Trading Post/Gem Store problem.”
As for refunds: if you’ve had these account-bound items for ages, we won’t be doing refunds because you’ve already derived substantial benefit. If, however, you bought them more recently, we’re doing refunds on a case-by-case basis.
Thanks for letting us know everyone, I will be working on trying to get this resolved.
papry — why don’t you submit a ticket and talk to Customer Support about your question? They will examine the request and the individual elements involved and do their best to assist you. Thanks.

Configs have been updated. There should be less of a spread in ladder positions now.
Part of the reason this is happening is because this season matches on both MMR and ladder position. Someone could have a lower ladder position, but have a very high MMR. Since they have to sit around a long time waiting for close MMR players, their ladder search range is also increasing at the same time.

The web-based leaderboard did not work with the current league system, so we’ve disabled it for the time being.
Snip.
I’ve thought through the implications of removing cele from PvP and what would happen to elementalist quite a bit, actually. It’s pretty risky. I think elementalist would need a new 4 stat combo to be viable at roughly the same level (maybe something like 1050pow/1050condi/560vit/560healing).
and when will this be?
More deets on that tomorrow.
Aside from skill adjustments, another way we can adjust balance in PvP is by looking at the runes/sigils/amulets that are available for use through the customization panel.
I would be interested in hearing thoughts (with the high-level goals from the blog in-mind) on adding/removing various sigils/amulets/runes. In general, our goal for PvP is to be faster-paced with a higher-level of lethality than what we’re seeing in S1.
I know we’ve had this conversation a few times before, but it’s always important to have this discussion with the correct context in mind.
It would be nice to be able to customize our amulets instead of being stuck with static amulets. This would open more possibilities for players to make more unique builds. Allow for the amulets to be either 3 stat or 4 stat combos.
More variety in stat combos can definitely be a thing – but I don’t think manual stat allocation is in the cards currently.

Worry not, friend – the changes were actually announced in a neutral location (our blog). I spun up the thread in the PvP forums afterwards to start working on getting some more directed feedback on runes/amulets/sigils in PvP.

Just ensure that “faster paced” doesn’t result in spammy aoe/1-shot meta at the same time. Shave some of the active defenses from those who have too many (Chrono) and give them to some who need it more (Necromancer) and keep damage kind of similar and you will see less of those bunkers and more people dying.
Just be careful of over-correcting by “making bunkers less sustainable” and “making damage dealers do more damage” resulting in a hard swing in the other direction. Other than that, it sounds good. :}
Good feedback. Something to keep in mind as we talk through proposals/suggestions, etc, is that while the meta does indeed have a heavy bunker aspect to it, there’s actually a considerable amount of damage going around that is only offset by how prevalent rezzing is. Think about the impact of the normalization of downstate and quickness/slow and how that will affect snowballing.
Also, since I’m getting a lot of messages about this →
Pro League S1 Finals will use the Winter 2016 balance update, not the current.
I’m so sorry that happened, Medex! We’ve fixed this, and apologize for the error.

I totally missed this thread until now. Sorry!
So it’s not a joke, not a troll. See what I said in this other thread.
The trolling I think they were referring to on Reddit was “Gliding in core Tyria and then ending the show without a word of explanation.” And that? Was fun. I loved it.
OK I like teasing content and stuff as much as anyone, but it would be too cruel to just … show that off on the dev client all “Haha look what we can do in the office and you will never have it muahaha!”
I would never, ever do that, I swear.
Erik what are your plans for balance?
The amount of CC out there is nothing short of ridiculous, people being toss around like ragdolls. The amount of sheer condition spamming is just as bad as the huge amounts of condition removal. There is so much boons out there yet so many of it feels like it has little to no impact.
I was hoping to join the development team myself and redesign a lot of mechanics from the ground up to create a healthy combat system. For fun I challenged myself to redesign combat with a more impactful and with dynamics in mind. I’m reaching 40 pages and I am not even done with 1 class.
You got a lot of work ahead of you.
Erik and the rest of the PvP team focus on the infrastructure that drives PvP (maps, leagues, matchmaking, reward tracks, etc). We have a separate team that handles balance from a more holistic perspective (keeping PvP, WvW, and PvE in mind).
The good news is that we’ll be sharing some of the details of our next balance update with you as soon as next week. Stay tuned.
I’m so glad you all enjoyed that!
