I bought the standard edition, and then later decided I wanted Ultimate. All you have to do is submit a support ticket and explain you would just like to refund your PoF purchase and remove it from your account, and they will probably just refund your money, and remove it from the account, then you are free to purchase the Ultimate edition.

I haven’t completed the first story because it requires me a premade team for that one dungeon (which I won’t get, I hate PuGs), so I basically jumped right into HoT back then and I am fine with that.

I’m not sure what dungeon you’re talking about, but nothing in any of the Story requires a team. At release the final mission of Personal Story did, but it has long since been changed to be a solo instance.

I must agree with this. I one shot it the 1st time with a necro.

After reading all of the fuss, I was worried about the encounter a little on Necro, but it wasn’t that bad. Mildly irritating if you aren’t paying attention but not undoable. Easy access to the Special Ability is pretty important.

The male warrior variant is so hilarious looking. I still laugh seeing players run around with it and the chaos gloves on in GW1.

I did it for years in GW1, I would do it for years on GW2.

You only gain WvW xp in EotM now (once you’re 80, I assume, since I don’t have an experience bar anymore), so it’s worthless for farming anything but WvW levels.

Every WvW rank you gain you get Proof of Heroics, which can be traded in for Hero Points.

Yeah though, EOTM is pretty fantastic for farming them. Did a little off and on and am almost done with my first one.

giving the amount of skills and shortcuts for mobility, I doubt you really need anything beyond a normal keyboard and mouse if it comes to gw2.

Yea the ability to have 100% mobility and use a skill is nearly impossible in this game. A gaming mouse is the answer. Try moving forward, dodging, turning 90 right then using the 8 skill and tell me this game is mobile. People with a gaming mouse have a huge advantage and even more so anyone who can figure out how to get the joystick to work properly. Other mmo’s don’t have this same problem.

If you’re already considering a gaming mouse, why would you still have a skill bound to 8? Rebinding your keyboard goes a long way in increasing your effectiveness. (12345tgvqe with wasd all day)

On topic I just use an AJazz 3 button, was $15, looks cool as kitten too. Blue LED’s match my case.

I haven’t really decided that myself either, but some of the options are:

Honorable Mention: Restorative Strength

10 Arms – Nothing looks useful at all

10 Tactics – Leg Specialist, Empowered, Stronger Bowstrings, Lung Capacity, Desperate Power. Basically the utility trait pick.

I calculated each build with 25 Might stacks, not sure where you got the idea I did it with 0 Might.

6 boons is absurd, you don’t average 6 boons in an organized group for any extended period of time. 3 Boons is the average, and its what we use for Empowered.

I didn’t say anything about the cool down reduction or axe rotation so thats a non-sequitor. You asked for the math and I gave it to you.

Doesnt that contradict yourself? Your doing the rest of the calculations with the assumption of 25 might stacks, yet for empowered 22 of them magically disappear?

edit2: by boons, does it mean boon type? as in 1% dmg for boon type, not amount of boons?

Empowered functions off of seperate Boon TYPES, not by stacks of a particular boon.

My name is Adam and I have been playing GW2 since beta weekends. I am currently looking for a new guild to call home due to mine completely disappearing.

Currently I call Fort Aspenwood home. I generally play Standard US primetimes (Central Timezone)

I like doing Dungeons(most of them), and whatever Meta-Events might be up in between those times. I also do a lot of WvW.

I’m looking for a guild that is competent enough in dungeon encounters(I’m tired of wanting to put my face through my monitor at some of the pugs I’ve been in these last few months.)

I main a Warrior(but I promise I’m not awful, I don’t even farm CoF with him because it’s boring)(Generally DPS spec’d with hints of self-preservation and support when need be)
I also have an Ele geared mostly for Support, if that’s something we need for any particular dungeon.

I don’t see myself transferring servers when I can just Guest for Meta-Events and other Events, and it doesn’t matter in Dungeons. However if the guild I find is adept and entertaining enough in WvW, I may contemplate it.

This is basically exactly what I switched to as soon as the patch hit.

I wouldn’t change anything in SPvP, but in PvE I can’t stop running with 10 tactics, I’m just too used to the utility in those traits.(Took 5 from Arms, and 5 from Disc.) Also, I’m disappointed in myself for never using Hoelbrak runes before, they’re kittening amazing and instantly got switched onto my armor.

Overall, I think this setup is the most comfortable I’ve ever been on a warrior.

How do you get both banner regen and shout heals ? Both are tactic traits 11+12 and you only get one of them ?

He was talking about using the Banner of Tactics #2 skill for regen, while spec’d for Healing Shouts.

If ANet balanced based on what the masses wanted their skills to be like, I’m not sure I’d like this game anymore.

I haven’t listened to the in-game music in a while. I do for a few minutes, then go back to music.

Usually: Whitechapel, Winds of Plague, Within the Ruins, Machine Head, Chimaira, Lamb of God, Parkway Drive, and whatnot.

Helps focus the rage outbursts so I don’t break as many keyboards. (Only on #3 since release! GW1 claimed more than a dozen.. )

You don’t pay a sub, so they offer RNG for (typically) very ugly skins in hopes that large numbers of people freak out and buy tons of keys.(success).

Are you really bothered that much by what other people have/do when it has no effect on the gameplay whatsoever?

Since Shouting heals is a more support-based trait, why not give shouting heals condition removal on top of the heal?

- It adds support
- Helps with warriors massive weakness to conditions
- Doesn’t really benefit or at least wont strongly benefit bullrush frenzy combos (making them an unstoppable beast as they said was a concern)
- And it livens the trait up a bit, what do you guys think? They’re all on 20+ second cooldown as well, so its quick condition removal with a decent cool down or spread out condition removal.

So, I use a cleric/PVT shout healing warrior in high level fractals. I love it. I found a pretty nice combo for condition removal.

On the power trait line, use “Restorative strength” (Whenever you use a heal spell – removes cripple immo weakness frozen).

This allows “Shake it off” to remove up to 3 conditions AT ONCE. FGJ and On my mark will remove 2 conditions and mending will remove 3 (these are if the correct condition exists [cripp, froz, immo, weak])

-Shouts heal (vigorous shouts)
-Shouts remove condition (Soldier rune 6th stat)
-Shake it off removes a condition (thats 2 conditions removed)
-If the third condition happens to be frozen, immo, weakness or cripple, Shake it off will remove it too (Restorative Strength major trait)

I am surprised I have never heard of this combo before. Try it out and see how you like it!

Restorative Strength will NOT remove a condition those conditions by using a shout. “Healing Skill” refers only to your #6 slot.

Well, the way I see it…if you’re not actively pursuing completing it….why does it matter if you don’t finish it? You obviously don’t care about the rewards enough to prioritize it.

You can play your way, that’s fine and fun and stuff…but “your way” still has to meet the ANets requirements for their rewards. :P

Quite true, I ran with it for a long time because I could just swap out traits for whatever weapon sets I felt like.

Eventually I dropped the 20 in arms for Defense because I enjoyed the CC options of Mace OH and Hammer and the cooldown reduction is super awesome.

Either way, 20/20/0/30/0 or 20/0/20/30/0, are both solid options.

Not everyone ganking people in the jp is an angry little person. Honestly, you can have some really interesting skirmishes because of the terrain in there.

However, if you think anyone who actually likes to pvp is going to let you walk by and get a handful of free siege that you probably wouldn’t have bought(It seems that most people that complain about the JP are people who don’t really care about wvw or ever pony up their own Coin for siege), then you’re wrong. I’ll kick you off the ledge every time, that’s less potential siege I have to deal with later.

I’m not sure how things are working out for this “truce” in the TCBL, but, it seems fairly null and void in EB. CD is pushing pretty FA pretty hard, pretty often. It’s a lot of fun though. We have been Outmanned ever since midnight or so last night, and we’ve lost some ground, but it hasn’t been free.

Also at the two TC D/D ele’s that got solo’d earlier near Anz, at least one of you had the decency to reward me with the badges I earned in that incredibly annoying skirmish, shame on the other one(Enjoy your desktop, bro)

Cull the Weak, Sundering Mace, Spiked Armor/Defy Pain(depending on the area)
30 Tactics
Stronger Bowstrings(Though I hardly even swap to bow), Inspiring Banners/Lung Capacity(Again, depending on Area/Dungeon), Inspiring Battle Standard/Vigorous Shouts(Depending)
10 Discipline
Signet Mastery/Inspiring Shouts(Depending)

I run Power/Vit/Toughness armor with Sup Runes of the Ogre when I’m doing Dungeons that I use Banners and Banner related Traits in.
I run Knight’s armor when with Sup Runes of the Soldier when I’m doing Dungeons that I use Shouts and Shout related Traits in.

I usually run Dual Maces(though sometimes I’ll swap in a Hammer if I’m feeling frisky.) The extra damage you get from Cull the Weak and Sundering Mace is super easy to keep up on any mobs you’re attacking so that’s a free 15% Damage boost and one of my Maces I keep a Sup Bloodlust Sigil in to make up for lost Power.

The PVT Banner set is the one I use most of the time and I tend to sit at these stats unbuffed:
Power: 2084 Attack: 3094
Precision:1259 Crit Chance: 20%(45% with Fury and banner of Discipline)
Toughness: 2004 Armor: 3215
Vitality: 1583 Health: 25793

It’s pretty tanky and still puts out a fair bit of raw damage while adding decent group buffs.

Do you have Runes of Strength on your PvP armor set as well? Because those get counted in with your Rune set totals, but as far as I know, they fixed the bug where it gave you the stats from them.

I’ve been pretty much only playing on a set of Knight’s gear with Soldier Runes in it, and I finally got around to picking up a set of Power/Vit/Toughness.

The question I’ve been trying to work though is if I should be keeping Soldier’s runes in the Knights, to compensate for the lack of vitality(the shouts removing conditions is pretty clutch too), or if I should be adding into the strengths of the set and using a more offensive rune setup and running Soldier’s in my PVT gear for a more defense oriented set on that one.

In general pve/WvW I usually just run triple Shouts, dungeons I’ve been running 2 banners and SiO usually, although I’m not sure it’s any better than triple shouts.

I don’t really know what direction I should be heading in here, and am open to any and all opinions on the matter!

Today has been pretty fun, while we have had a severe lack of participation, those of us in the maps have been running our kitten off trying to keep up with the stuff you keep capping.

Those multi-golem attempts at our Keep a while ago in EB was impressive, I’m not sure how we defended. That was pretty frantic.

I really liked the constant flipping of Durios and QL though, it’s quite profitable.

In any case, it’s fun, but I’d say by Monday most of FA will stop showing up, and it will no longer be fun…for anyone. I’m about to find a new server that doesn’t quit anytime we’re not Fullcapped.

The mass Immobilize is fun, if you catch people holding hands. There are better Burst skills though.

I run full Knights, luckily I’ve been using it with Healing Shouts, so I have 30 Tactics and Soldier runes. I end up with in between 23k and 24k life.

I am working on a second set of Power/Tough/Vit for some other spec’s though.

Both sets have good points, with my set up the lack of vitality isn’t an issue, because I usually have more condition removal that I know what to do with(Also traited Warhorn), which makes conditions far less scary.

It is possible, just stupid rare. Personally I got a Dusk from one of the Veteran Dredge that attacks Speldan supply camp in WvW.

Wish I still had it, the price has more than tripled since I sold it.

I just use the same gear for both, as I use healing shouts in both.

I just change a few major traits around and use different weaponsets for each.

Knight’s gear is a good all around choice, imo.
