OK, I’ll simplify this to sPvP gear alone…

5K dmg from IP proc, not even bringing up any other proc. A grenadeer traited nade auto attack will proc IP, Shrapnel, etc. I think this condi argument is only valid in 1v1s and as such, don’t care if anything is done about it but let’s not act like it’s inconsequential…
Ummmm, I got to the part of the thread that talks about 2k dmg in 10 secs off one condi auto attack but let’s see. W/ this outdated build and one auto attack crit, u’ll do over 10K dmg if the person doesn’t clear the condi[s].
Thanks to this thread, I’m taking my max height asura and paying to change to the smallest size.
LOL @ turning every player to a default look. Can’t tell them apart except for name. That totally makes sense…
Engie Nerf Request List:
[x] Bunker Engies
[x] Condi Engies
[x] Turret Engies
[ ] Power Engies
Is this about right?
…their tears, they sustain me. Especially the MM Necro that was kittening about AI builds.
Experimental Turrets vs Incendiary Powder
W/ Celestial amulet, u can do 3.5K burns per crit on a 25% crit rating. Are the buffs from Alchemy XIII that good?
Rotations? This ain’t Playa vs Dragons.
Well, I’m 400g or some T6 mats away from The Predator (Legendary Rifle). If you were to be my sugar daddy/momma, I’d post a special pic dedicated just to you. I’d create a guild called Miku’s Man Servant [MMS] and rep you 5% of my playing time. I do a terrible machinama thingie w/ my little asura rapping original material for you. Well, maybe not the last one.
TL;DR: U seem rich, hook a brotha up. I’ll pay it forward, pwomise…
Valentin is back trolling you guys again. He was crying about the OPness of MM necrosis a few months back. I thought he was leaving for Wildstar though. He also thinks warriors are perfect the way they are.
I think I found my build for when I finish my Predator. Knockbacks are trollrific. Not sure how I’ll get by w/o speedy kits though. Why does 25% seem soooo much slower than 33%. Especially when you’re in combat.
Maybe I’m asking this question wrong, what sigil combo would make this imba? I’m not denying wars get 4 sigils, 2 of which can be swapped every 5 secs. Seems pretty minor to kitten about…
Warriors can swap every 5 secs. Engineers can swap every second. Still confused.
Did I miss something? Rifles count as 2 hander and so does GS/Hammer. Please clue a nub in…
Two-handed weapons will now be slotted with two sigils on the upcoming balance patch. And each sigil will have individual ICDS compared to the Global ICDS they currently have right now. Or haven’t you heard? But I guess you haven’t yet. Please clue a clueless in…
Soooo, u’re saying that a warrior that slots 4 seperate sigils, 2 in each 2hander, will have an advantage over an engie, who slots 2 in his 2hander rifle. Why again?
Sigils
Sigil of Battle (gain [2, 3] stacks of might for 20 seconds)
Superior Sigil of Doom (next attack poisons)
Superior Sigil of Energy (gain 50% endurance)
Superior Sigil of Geomancy (bleeds nearby foes for 7 seconds)
Superior Sigil of Hydromancy (freeze nearby foes for 3 seconds)
Superior Sigil of Intelligence (next attack has a 100% critical hit chance)
Superior Sigil of Leeching (next attack steals health)
Please point out a scenario that makes the war OP compared to the other 2 classes.
Did I miss something? Rifles count as 2 hander and so does GS/Hammer. Please clue a nub in…
Doesn’t this apply to engie and eles?
Hides my kit swapping engie and attunement switching ele.
YESSSS!!! He’s returned back to his roots.
Couple of points to ponder:
Perplexity Runes – I know u’re an honorable person and don’t want to “cheese” ur dmg buuuuuut, hella condi’s brah.
Torment Sigil – Another 30% chance on crit and w/ ur 54% crit chance…OUCH.
Napalm Specialist vs Modified Ammunition – 2% per condi and u will likely have an average of 5/6 and could get up to 11 which would be a 22% dmg buff. Though I don’t know if it applies to condis too.
Just ideas to play around w/. I trust u’ll find the one that works for u. I wish we had 4 util slots so I could rock the EG and still have my rocket boots. Hell, add my ft to that list for easy stomps.
LOL, was on engie, ran into a power necro that would go into a 30s Lich form w/ Blasts taking 4-5k dmg, and in order to stay on the point, I had to Shield 4, Shield 5, TK 4, and still had to LOS off point to survive.
Switched to my MM necro and he started raging and quit.
Went back to my engie, got raged at for playing a bunker engie and was told to die.
Also, most MM don’t run Blood Fiend and we often switch between Melandru for surv or Speed for mobility.
Hi
I have been playing a guard since early release, so have the opportunity to do everything in this game as a guard, experiment with lots of different builds for lots of different focusses ranging from a very small roaming WvW team to full large scale group support and likewise in PvE from full DPS to support.
Honestly the best small group set-up you can have currently in this game is a hybrid build. For a 5 man hammer is a horrible weapon, go GS for better dmg, a little extra mobility and an extra group cleanse via lightfield + whirl combo. For large scale and surprisingly melee stacks on dungeon bosses, hammers are good.
Your build lacks boon uptime and provides zero group support. For small teams you should ditch AH as you have, however, you need boon uptime and you need to provide better heals and shielding and stability via virtues to your group mates, also, the 30 pointer in guard virtues is the only group stunbreaker with stability and shielding in the game. This is critical. Run reduced shout CD and Renewed focus. Between “Stand Your Ground” , “Hold The Line” and the added boons and stability and stun breaker from virtues you have a virtually spammable set-up that will take care of your entire group. Also, unlike meditations, your virtues can be activated even when all your skills are disabled when being stunned etc. This again is huge.
get your DPS via gear variations not traits. leave your traits on actual group support and means for your group to get away from things and move fast. You can actually get half decent DPS by going with celestial jewelry, zerk armor, and whatever weapons. I tend to go with main weapon DPS and second weapon support utility with eitehr cleric or bunker stats.
When running a 10-15 man, I would recommend having 2 mesmers, 1 fully offensive shatter and 1 hybrid with focus on glamour. 2 thieves for spiking and offense, rest pretty standard fare, warriors, guards, necros.
One other thing, mobility is king. Period. Small team needs to be extremely mobile and quick. To that account, any slow members should be running Traveller’s or Runes of Speed. Not only do they give you 25% passive movement but also free up a utility slot and/or trait slots from those people that have used traits / utilities for movement. This is especially true for mesmers, guards, necros (if they dont use spectral walk and arent traited for boon uptime), etc. The only class that never needs those for mobility is warrior. Everyone else does at least with some builds. I also recommend having at least 1 engi, the nuking kind that puts out a crap load of dmg., avoid rangers.
For large group, simply switch your armor to PTV or Clerics or mix with melandru runes, switch your GS for Hammer, keep a staff handy and you’re set. Don’t use meditations, they are good exclusively for 1 v 1 provide very little group support due to the CDs when compared with your other tools, and don’t waste your slots for DPS support, your team mates even in small teams do that much much better at far lower costs to their traitlines, CDs and in general effort.
Please post the build you’re describing. I’m new to guard and would LOVE to run something like what you’re describing.
@Drarnor: Ur last statement invalidates ur advice. W/ multiple minions attacking at once, he’ll be eating death novas often. Also, most good MM necros can survive/kite w/o minions for a bit. DS1 hits pretty hard too and DS3 is a 10 sec CD.
This guy is a b. a. m. f. Luv the vids as always. And ur intention w/ that fugly charr is indeed a success. Hideous…
I’m waiting for the 12/10 patch to level w/ glory but I have enough laurels and guild comms to have full ascended soldier trinks missing only the backpiece cause I hate fractals.
Asura T3 Heavy pl0x…
LOL, what’s the problem? U guys kitten about EVERYTHING!!!
Down for me 2, I just want to spend gems! Take my KITTEN money, ANET!!!
My comment wasn’t commenting on his gameplay. He may be the best player of all time. It’s just that I’ve seen similar threads started by the same individual…quite a few of them…and it always turns to hell.
LOL, same necro that was kittening about Automated Response. BRB, grabbing popcorn…
Thanks for the answers, what this has taught me is that merc guilds are an AWESOME aspect of the game. Make a name for urself, sell services to highest bidder, ???, Profit. I don’t know what the transfer fee is but 3K is like 4 members at 800gems (forgot what the price was pre leagues). But in the end could be lucrative.
Hi Alkaholic,
So it cost 1800 gems per person to transfer to Blackgate. At the time that ZDs transferred to Blackgate the gem rate was 6.63g per 100 gems. That means it was roughly 120g per transfer. With 3000g they were able to transfer 25 of there ~40 members by them selves.
Btw 3000g would allow you to transfer ~56 players to a server that is rated for 800 gem transfers. At the rate of gold to gems at that time.
Thanks for clarifying, I thought he said 3K gems not 3K gold.

How are either of these any better than melandru or whatev?
Can someone please explain the buying? How does a guild get bought? WTF pays for the transfers?
Well, that sux, guess I’ll have to look into other leveling foods…
I’m trying to figure out if MM Necros benefit from Sigil of Blood and life steal on crit foods if their minions crit. I’m guessing no but wondering if anyone who’s played a necro for more than the 1 hour I have knows.

My boy’s back at it again…Good kitten homie!
Not that huge…u lose a kit.
I just thought about this some more. This should lead to less zerging and encourage winning more. Winning should let me grind out my last bit of glory for whatever is past ransacker. Sweet…
Glad I hit rank 50 this week…sux for all those that didn’t hit their ranks.
it’s kind of confusing for someone who is not a veteran in spvp. i really dont see warriors op. i’m not a pro but i can still beat a warrior 1v1 as a ranger.
U play a spirit ranger and whine about mm necro. Ur opinions on sPvP are null and void.
Hello everyone, there have been many complaints about the Warrior class. How Healing Signet + Adrenal Health provide too much healing, how Cleansing Ire is too good at removing conditions, how Banner Regen Warriors are virtually unkillable, and I’m here to put a stop to this nonsense.
Warriors can die. Here’s the proof. Show me those Warriors that are carrying teams by themselves and winning 4v1s on video. Or really anything that shows how OP they are, rather than theorycrafting and telling stories about what happened. Sure, stories can give us some idea of what’s going on, but we don’t know the exact situations.
In other words… watch this video.
So let me get this straight, your irrefutable evidence is terrible gameplay. I couldn’t stop laughing when I saw the random evade and the back peddling. What are you going for, worst warrior in North America?
Of those 3 classes you said you are considering, necro is the least similar to engineer. It uses conditions, yes, but no blocks, no vigor, less in the face action and slow in combat movement. The other suit the in the face playstyle of engineer more. I have all those 3 so I can know
I prefer the mesmer the most out of those. Although the ele is great too, but it feels incomplete after the huge nerfs.
Ele’s were nerfed?? I’ve been getting bursted by some lightning flashes and dead. I’m not sure what they’re running but I’ve been dropped a few times by some really bursty ele’s not to mention great balls of fire falling from the sky hitting for large numbers.
Mesmer is what I’m least attracted but prolly what I need to look at. I confuse myself just playing the class.
Last question, my havoc squad will consist of 2 hammer wars, a bomb/nade engie, and a necro/ranger, would another burst/dps class be the best fit or are we lacking a guardian providing buffs and stability.
Currently trying to decide between necro, ele and mesmer for Priory completion. Tryna synergize w/ my buddy who plays his engie way better so I’m thinking a bursty ele/mes or a noobspec 30/20/0/0/20, I think, necro to signet of spite and epi folks…
Thank Genyen Jr. for reminding me I still got work to do when fighting thieves. :’(
That’s mine….
What dyes?
Thanks Chaith. Clearly a lot to learn. I like that.
- Dagger/Pistol: This is a bit easier of a match-up, in my opinion. As long as you don’t die in the first second. As soon as you see Basilisk venom, stunbreak it, dodge roll, and put your block up lightning-fast. If you know the Thief’s shadowstep is down, then while you have Super Speed up, and block up, activate slick shoes, whip around, and death combo him, if he’s still tunnel visioning you in his Dagger/Pistol. It’ll be super easy to put him in the slick shoes ring since you’re so fast. It usually won’t be this easy, though.
LOL! Had a fight play out exactly like this last night. Then I got called a glory farming, OP build using, no life, nerd. :’(
you know you don’t HAVE to fire it off all at once..
True, but the first time u run up on a warrior, muscle memory will have u blasting him back and then unloading. Maybe after that the engie will learn from his overzealousness. Then again, I could be the only one that goes all out on round 1 and learn from my mistakes later.
All fun and games until u run into a FOTM warrior w/ shield reflect.
only baddies would kill themselves from their own bullets. If a warrior has shield reflect all you have to do is stop attacking when the shield is up. This allows you to burst him when the shield goes down and not waste your CDs.
It is really bad if a player blows everything on a shield block lol.
Ummm, I’m not saying this build is bad in any way. I was just commenting one of the not so fun matchups that go against this build. Given equal skill, I don’t know how this falls in our favor. The most common warrior builds I see are GS/M+S or Hammer/M+S. In either case they have 2 spell reflects on a really short CD, these builds, 0/10/30/0/30, usually run Balanced Stance, Enduring Pain, and a third optional util, Dolyak Signet or Zerker Stance. In either case, that’s a lot of burst deniers and 1 Skull Crack usually equals death. Also, most variants of the SD build run Rifle Turret, Battering Ram, and the Goggles, not often do I see Toolkit (But this could be what u mean by baddies). Even w/ toolkit, I’ve learned to dodge a sec or 2 after seeing those 3 faint lines pointed at me. I’m a hotjoin hero so I don’t have anywhere near the level of experience in tPvP and I should probably not continue commenting…
All fun and games until u run into a FOTM warrior w/ shield reflect.
I personally think it should be reduced by (25?)%, which is about 300hp per second. To compensate, they could increase its scaling factor by .5 (not sure what it is atm) so they can aquire that sustain back, but at a COST.
And at same time nerf EVERY healing ability ingame to compensate: decide to stack dmg or healing a bit better.
And don’t post how many hours u been playing on warrior. 300 hours are a bad joke to talking about balancing some class – i got myself over 2,8k hours, go figure.
No one needs 3K hours on a class to know if it’s OP. That’s dumb as hell.
U know what I do on my warrior, go to opponent’s home, wreak havoc and last forever w/ Shield Stance, Zerker Stance, Endure Pain, Balanced Stance, dumping condi’s every 5 secs, 400hp/s w/ Healing Signet and another 400hp/3s w/ Adrenal Health. Then if kitten looks to hit the fan, Nope the kitten outta there w/ the amazing mobility of GS.
I can’t count how many times I’ve been at 1K hp and just ran around obstacles and voila, I’m back at 10k hp w/ my poor opponent low and about to eat another stun. Look @ my post history, I’ve commented that they’re not OP, I’ve provided counters, stability, blinds, blinks, etc, still, the truth is, they need to be shaved. Not nerfed to hell, just shave it a bit.
ROFL….
…That’s kittening funny.
1 thumb vs 3 fingers…I’m gonna stick w/ 3 fingers.
