Wow, that is really messed up. Some people are just straight out dirtbags.

That being said, they review the player in question, and after seeing that he wasn’t botting, all would be right in the world again.

But still, that doesn’t change the fact about what the low-lifes were up to. What a shame.

lol, i am a father to two, have a wife, work full time, starting a fiberglass business, and I am taking 14 credits in college towards my BA in CIS. It takes me all of MAYBE 20 minutes to do my daily, every day, no matter what the requisites are. You are doing something wrong if it takes you that long. learn where to farm what, where events are, where nodes are, where to res npc’s at, etc.

As long as the 2 vote kick system is in place, this kind of ting will continue. It is absolutely deplorable, especially the grief kicking, when they boot folks right at the last boss of the entire run. This is exactly why I only run with the guild. Opinions on player ability to get gold?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Aoshi.4785

I would love to know how people are getting this much gold per day. If i farm the Orr areas and do some major world events(maw,dragons,etc..) i make about 2-2.5gp. This is with probably 4-5hrs play time. Is my account just cursed? I also never get exotics to drop. Have had 2 since release with like 2000hrs logged. I think my account must be tagged to be poor. I was rich in GW1, maybe thats why.

Yeah, I’d say. I play for maybe 3 hours tops, most of it is farming in Orr. Are you hitting everything you can? Picking up all your loot? Could be that you aren’t selling all of your things as well. I go through and sell most everything I get, besides stuff that cant go to the tp, then I either salvage or vendor sale. But the money is also in the dropped mats, if you aren’t selling those, then no, you won’t get that much from farming. DO NOT open the heavy moldy bags, sell them. A stack of 100 got me just over 5g last night, and I got that in about 90 min of play, on top of all the other loots.

I used to res folks in Orr, then found out alot of them were AFK event farming. I should have noticed before that their armor was all gone, and they were mostly naked lol. But when you res someone and they don’t say thanks, that was my inclination. Now I only res folks that I know are playing. And if it’s in the “dodge areas” I don;t even bother. Yes indeed, some folks are straight up rude. They can stay dead for all I care ^__^

Will open world PVP servers be considered?

I love this debate, seeing the pro-pvp folks come in, some true to form admitting they just want it for the griefing, others trying to make excuses and cover for it. WV s there, the only reason anyone else wants open-world, non consentual PVP, period, is to grief and gank other players. Pure and simple.

Lol. But that will never happen here in GW2.

I see what you are saying…I just got an abyss two days ago, and the buy offer was at 19 gold. I put mine up at 22 and still sold it, but that being said…if the standard buy offer is around 19, that is still a large chunk of gold. To me I don’t seeing it coming down too much from that, but stranger things ave happened indeed. Anyways, not o beat a dead horse ^__^

Alas, I find it highly unlikely. Why put an item on the TP if you weren’t trying to make a profit?

That being said, I will again say very good for Emperor if that is what happened. While I am sill extremely suspect, I will redact my previous statement and offer an “anything can happen” clause, lol.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Because I don’t think you could buy all the dyes the game has to offer for 50 gold. PERIOD. I hardly think anyone is selling an Abyss on the TP for any “custom price” below 19g. And the same for all the other high priced dyes, no one is going to come down to silvers from gold just because you put in a custom buy order. It’s backwards.

But good for you. Very good for you.

But then again, some folks want the darkest black, the darkest red, the brightest white. Just because you don’t care for them doesn’t mean others won’t. And as long as they do, there will be those selling it to them for a premium. It’s the same in all mmo’s that have dye’s available.

Not on my server, Northern Shiverpeaks. Even in the wee hours of the morning, I still see plenty of folks on.

I also think those that speak on the dwindling numbers are often times the same folks who are speaking on the doom of the game, just my $0.02, but the two oft go hand-in-hand on the boards here.Everything seems fine on my server tho ^__^

We need to look at this in a real world perspective, and not think about the word “rare” as literally. It means, straight forward, all the “cool/awesome/rad” colors are going to be rare, and worth more. Case in point, look up Celestial and Abyss. See how much they go for on the tp.

I open every dye I get. I just got an abyss this morning in fact. You never know until you try ^__^

Are hardcore players this games worst enemy?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Aoshi.4785

Aoshi.4785

Take this all with a grain of salt, but here is my opinion:

I started playing around the second month the game came out, and started working on my legendary. The only real money I used was for karma boosters from the gem store. I played the game as it was supposed to be played, and then some. I did the mystic toilet and got very very lucky, I spent ungodly amounts of hard earned gold on mats and such that I couldn’t grind out myself, and raised 2 crafts to max (actually have weaponsmith, armorsmith, leatherworker, cook, jeweller, and atificer all maxed), and finally got my twilight a few weeks ago. I consider that pretty hard core. And the game catered to that.

I thought it was fine, not sure whats up with all the QQ on this. But yeah, since we hate our customers so much, let’s make the end of the campaign the worst we can, and then make the end boss the worst in all of gaming history!

It was fine graphical, which you in your finite wisdom is referring to, either that or your standards for a final boss battle are incredible low. given Zaitan barely did anything.

Where did I, in my finite wisdom, refer to anything graphical? Riddle me that, oh wizened one.

I am saying that it’s not worth the boo-hoo-hooing that everyone is giving it, and even if so, do you really think a change will be implemented? Nope.

I’ve beaten Demon’s Souls a few times, so I think I know about a good boss battle here and there ^__^

Loot Dro kitten ue Confirmed: Feedback Thread

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Aoshi.4785

I personally would like to see three things come out from this.

  1. an apology to the players who were accused of having an overactive imagination and “perceiving” the loot issue, and being accused of concocting an xfiles conspiracy theory.
  2. a direct method of purchasing T6 materials from a karma/laurel vendor (materials like Powerful Bloods, Gossamer Scraps, Onyx Lodestones) that are so rare they might as well be antimatter.
  3. the permanent removal of DR until the bugs in it and the dial that has it turned up so high can be properly adjusted so that it no longer affects players, along with the destruction of the mechanic that requires that people teleport to not get hit by it because that clearly only benefits the bots with the illegal gold-farming teleport software.

One can hope.

What is entirely sad is that it was a direct quote, in their words, calling this whole debacle an “X-files type conspiracy”. Slaps in faces, their should definitely be an appy-polly-logie for this one.

Legendary Weapons' appearances & stats

Aoshi.4785

In your research for the looks of the items, you kust have come across this information as well, it’s all been well documented, debated to death, and strewn about these very boards. Yes, alot of the legendaries look lackluster. Yes you need two professions at max. Yes the stats are the same as current exotics.

Keep in mind Anet has said time and time again that legendaries will always be best in slot, so when another tier rears it’s heads, stats will change. But as of now, they are skins. Some pretty, some not so much. But all in all, one striking constant remains, and no one can negate this: it is optional. PURELY optional.

As far as crafting them, everything you need, all mats required, can be found at wiki.guildwars2.com. That is what I used to make my Twilight.

There is nothing wrong with the forge.
Personally I’ve received Dawn, Leaf of kudzu and bard from random rares, 2 dusks from exotic greatswords, legend from exotic staffs, lover from exotic shortbows and chosen from random exotics. Finally I got spark, from exotic daggers, that one was the hardest and most expensive to “forge”

Ignore the tradepost, looking at those prices just depresses you and stops you enjoying the game.

I must call BS on this. Noone is this lucky Unless you can show a screen shot of some sort.
Even if you did receive all of this, how many tries for each until you received what you wanted? Or did you get them all within a few tries too? ;p

I got my dusk after 5 tries at Big Z.

Suggestions for Getting Gold?

do cursed shores events and salvage everything!

This, exactly. I farm Orr for events, and pull down a nice chunk of gold at the end of the day. Never had to worry about not being able to afford anything on the TP. I’m usually getting about 15g per evening.

Protip: SELL the moldy bags, don’t open them! ^__^

ArenaNet and loot

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Aoshi.4785

There was a patch with the quote-unquote “maintenance”, otherwise the achievement system would not be broken, and there would have been no files to download when the servers came back up. I wonder why they insist on lying to us?

Or start a report thread about what we “perceive” as a loot change.

In all honesty, from someone that has been farming events in Orr for two months, same times usually, I can definitely tell there has been a change. It’s just that sour smack in the face when we get told that it’s all in our heads that gets me.

In my opinion, mystic forge is a total fail

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Aoshi.4785

Aoshi.4785

Even if you personally don’t get a drop, other people do. You can sell your drops and buy what you want. It sounds difficult but, trust me, it’s not.

And if you absolutely refuse to use the TP in any way, then we do know that they’re working on that scavenger hunt that will let people earn precursors.

edit: And you keep acting like the costs are too prohibitive for you to be able to ever afford, when you just told us you willingly trashed 400+ gold worth of daggers alone, and you trashed 8,000 other rares. The only thing keeping you from being able to afford a precursor at this point is your own refusal to do anything with your drops but throw them in the forge.

Truth.

And sorry to say, there IS a choice, whether OP decides to face it or not. Your choice is to pursue a legendary, or not. As soon as you chose the former, your option to complain about the means of getting any of the required components became mute, because you knew what you were getting into. Otherwise, you’d have not flushed all those weapons down the magic toilet.

I can completely understand how the OP feels, I was ready to quit after putting those exotics in.
It is much better to use rares as you’ll be able to make some money back, as well as getting a chance to grab a pre-cursor.

Hopefully we can see the scavenger event sometime down the line. I really don’t get why every aspect besides the precursor has a sense of progression.

Lol awesome, I was trying to find the link again.. I used it as a study tool in making my Twilight man. As soon as you hit the forge button I was like “I’ve got a bad feeling about this…” lol, good times.
