If I had reason to believe that the 32 bit client download as promoted under /account/content would not function correctly and just launch the game in 64 bit.
If I further had a gamebreaking bug and strong evidence to believe it is caused by the 64 bit client, as it already occured months ago when the client was still in beta.
And if I finally had a sufficient knowledge of programming to probably understand whatever you tell me, even if I can not find the solution myself.

What would I do to my client to make it launch in 32 if my client believes 64 is best for my system?

Yeah, necro is one of the slower classes. So what?
Not every class can jump around the battlefield and ncero is certainly one where slowness is rather fitting.
And they are powerful enough to make being able to be outrotated a balance element.
Trust me, you dont want mobility. As soon as you have access to perma swiftness, infinite shadowsteps and are immune to immobilize, people start to claim you should not be viable in combat because you can pick your opponents and always disengage.

-Either you have managed to get that patched into the 32bit version as well.
-Or your 32 bit downloadable client (GW2Setup.exe) is not working as intended
I realise this problem is rather rare, if not unique to my system, thus does not take priority.
But 3 months?
Additionaly this would be fine if it just affected me, but it also kills my teams chances to win. Even tho they dont loose a pip.

What I want you to look at are:
-Damage numbers

Now lets talk again about how there is no powercreep in gw2.
I wouldnt count myself to the rose-coloured glasses faction, actually I havent even been playing this game long enough to be nostalgic.
But it does feel like they could take a few steps back. Or better yet: take a few steps forward, but in a different direction.

You know…a 50% winrate means the matchmaker does exactly what its supposed to do: removing the element of randomness)
If it tried to make you win we would just have s2 again, including MMrhell
The only alternative is complete RNG. In that case you would have a 50% winrate (theoretically) and wins and losses clustered.
But it would also mean unfair treatment to an unlucky minority of players.
We will eventually have to decide what we want.
Fair treatment or equal treatment of every player.
Both is not possible.

You are now basing this exclusively on divisions which is both inaccurate and wrong.
a) The matchmaker starts to search within 15 pip range, meaning a low tier emerald is exactly the same as a high tier amber.
As far as the MM is concerned there is literally no difference.
b) The pips are not the most important coefficient. There are much more factors trying to determine how ‘good’ a player actually performs.
c) Finally that mirrors reality. People often forget how meaningless the divisions really are. Currently they are an indicator of the combined factors skill, luck and invested time.
And there is no telling how strongly those individual factors contributed.

It’s horrible. It’s frustrating. I don’t think it encourages people to participate in PvP or ranked.

-You had a 4 ppl premade, a good reason to place higher division players on enemy team.
The game can not know if that premade might just have been doing guild missions or introducing firends to PvP. Premade is premade.
-You play a strange pewpew/druid hybrid. Marksmanship, 2 of the more useless shouts.
If the build works for you: great. But its not exactly something you can carry people with.
According to your PvP level you have also played less than 500 matches, which basically doesnt imply youre bad, but it does mean you shouldnt ask for too much.

Sorry but this looks like matchmaking is doing its job just fine.

Pls ppl. Try and remember
-A good matchmaking system is not supposed to make you win a game!
-A good matchmaking system is not your personal assistent to find a good team!
It is supposed to place you in setups that you have a chance to win (and 300/500 is not a blowout)
-If you do not win, it is not the matchmakings fault.

If you constantly eperience blowouts. In highly populated divisions and times where a proper match should be possible to find. If you, additionaly are sure you didnt falsify your personal ranking by undeserved winning streaks in S2 or in any other way..
And finally if you can sincerely and truly say that you performed the best way you possibly can.

Then it is called bad matchmaking.

Conditiondamage simply doesnt serve its purpose.
By the usual definiton it is supposed to be DoT. Hard to avoid, hard to remove but takes a long time to kill anything.
The proper counter to proper conditionbuilds would be to kill them before they can kill you.
In theory it should look something like
bunker>power>codition>bunker
But since they made the odd decision to allow condition bursts and at the same time give bunkers a high amount of cleanses, condition damage is now used against offensive power builds.
All the problems are connected to each other. You have to rework conditions to be Dot (much lower damage and application, but much higher duration and less reliable cleanses), power to be burst(scrapper hammer or thief AA are a good example of power gone wrong), and bunkers to not be healers(Ive explained that one more extensively before)

‘make money’ ? They are account bound. As is pretty much everything you can make out of it.(not everything maybe but you know what I mean)
You can use ‘pets’ like princess or mawdrey to consume some of it, the rest is best used with:
right click->destroy->confirm

Death could be much more meaningful if you as a player felt responsible.
Like a decision you make at some point in the story later turns out to be a bad one and actually gets someone killed you care about instead of just leading to an alternate mission with other enemies.
For example the pact mission were you fire mortars at risen that turn out to be your own troops?
I rarely felt that bad for something.
Just at that point we didnt really have any decision (unless of course doing another mission) and afterwards you really gave your best to take the blame away from us (it was an evil super mesmer that deceived me)
I like to play my characters as perfect. The one you can send everywhere and I will always return alive and successful.
Your story kinda supports that.
But getting punished for bad decisions, killing a friend and being accused of their death…
You cant make a sinister, twisted and interesting story without hurting the protagonist.
And with protagonist I dont mean the player character. I mean the player.
It would be much better for roleplay and a much more impactful and memorable story.
You know why so many people read ice and fire/watch game of thrones.
Because unlike the usual hollywood kitten bad things happen.
With a game you can do the same thing…and make us feel responsible for it.

The point about the same map, I recently came back to GW2 after a break since 2013 basically and I seem to remember some beach kind of map with cannons and stuff. What happened to that?

This map was retired from the sPvP map list with the April 15, 2014 game update.
The reason for retirement of the map was that underwater combat was being removed from PvP.

If youre just after the wings you should reconsider your effort.
It is possible to have fun playing the current PvP, despite all the issues it has.
But if you cant find it enjoyable, some cheap reward is most certainly not worth playing.

Yes its not fair, but it was a better measure of skill. The higher mmr players went to legendary fast, where they belonged, and it took longer for the lower mmr players to progress but they still could. Now it takes longer time for everyone to progress because of this new system. Right now we have a grind system…just like in season 1. Season 2 wasnt a grind because the better players progressed to where they belonged faster, average progressed quite fast also, it was just the worst of the worst who still were in amber/emerald.

Well, I do see how its favourable to seperate good and bad players quickly.
But the current system of placing them in different leagues to begin with appears to be much more promising.
All in all I stick to my statement
I am not good because I win
I win because im good
(Or maybe I dont win at all, but im not a pro player so thats alright)

And what do you prefer: Painful grinding for a meaningful reward, or a free ticket to a meaningless badge.

In season 2 it made sure the higher mmr players would progress faster to legendary by teaming them together vs lower mmr players. Essentially the best season thus far measuring skill. Season 1 it mixed scrubs with pro players since divison was 50% of the mm and mmr 50% which lead to alot of scrubs got carried by the better players. Now in season 3 the mm tries to mix the higher mmr together so they have a slight advantage but not as in season 2 with such blowouts since its a smaller distance between the mmr teams. However, one team has ALWAYS an advantage over the other team as in slightly higher mmr.

Sry to interfere here but thats bullkitten.
If the matchmaking intentionally creates matchups favourable for ‘better’ players, it is exactly the opposite of a good measuring for skill.
Even if we leave the inaccuracy in detecting ‘better’ aside, you qualify as a good player by winning fair matches.
In other words: The only way you can ever prove to be good is if there is any adversity to overcome to begin with.
If you are truly a good player you will advance no matter what opponents you face.
A perfectly competitive game levels out the playing field and leave the rest to the players, it doent try to do their work for them.
Imagine you would coach an athlete but rig his games to only face the very worst competitors because he ‘deserves to win’

So wait.
Shield of courage and wings of resolve you count as ‘defensive elite’ but physical supremacy, unhindered combatant, escapists absolution, bandits defense, hardy conduit, elemental bastion and overload water you dont?
And its not just the defense btw.
If daredevil was based around speed and defense it would be a really cool, optional choice for non-stealth thief gameplay.
But in actuality it also offers great utility, as many damage boosts as deadly arts and pulmonary impact.

I am not sure if the algorith intentionally creates a 50/50% winrate.
It seems to be what most players think, Ive heard it a couple of times, but never seen actual proof of it.
Ive read trough the matchmaking pseudo code in the wiki. I didnt see anything that would imply it, but honestly Im not good enough at programming to be able to tell for sure. Also its like a year old or smthng.

However I would like to apply simple logical thinking to the situation.
The current matchmaking tries to create ‘fair’ matchups by setting an average and mixing above and below average players together in both teams.
Now usually your personal rating should not change significantly with every match, but let me overexagurate:
Basic) You are an average player.
1) You win a match
2) System now thinks you are above average>Places you with below average
3) You loose a match
4) System now thinks you are below average> Places you with above average
5) You win a match

And so on. So even if the algorithm didnt actually try to create rigged matches, it might unintentionally do so. However that would imply a much higher impact from recently played games than likely.
Almost as if we had the ‘MMR-reset’ so many of us asked for.
If that was the case things should settle in the next days.

If your matchups are repeadedly unfair and create streaks, it could either be due to luck/bad luck, which seems most likely, unusual high impact of other factors like Q time, amount of players to choose from…or it could be that the system considers you a lot better than you actually are (for example if you had undeserved winning streaks in S2) and thinks you should win matchups you possibly cant. In that case you just need to hold out until you reach your skill level.

Gee that never occured to me. Of course I practiced in unranked, but I’m not going to suddenly gain 4 years of experience on a new profession. My main can hang with anyone, I can’t use a few days or even weeks experience to be godlike at a new profession. Look at OEggs kitten .

I dont know what professions you are practicing with but in season 1 I abandoned my thief for a ranger and it took me about 50 matches to score better results.
And with still less than 300 games on ranger I dont even think im below average.
If you wish to learn rev or thief you will probably have to invest some more time, I’ll give you that.

Strangely most people complaining about MM are on a loose streak.
Last season a lot of us (including myself) came to the conclusion because of ridicuolusly long winning streaks and spawn camping.
Oh and: 12 games? Those who complained last season easily lost 60 matches in a row.
That is broken MM.
Loosing a few games is just the usual clustering. Randomness does that. If you roll a dice6 you wont always get ‘1,2,3,45,6’, you will have 6,6,6,6,4,3,3 much more often than you expect.

Despite that I stopped taking the op seriously when they used the word ‘hammer’.

Never said it wasnt meta but latest nerf to PT was completely kittened as it leaves rev with no energy to do ANYTHING at all while still having cooldown. Then we had other pointless nerfs such as core dodge trait with 5icd when the real problem (and still is) is herald one.

Destroyed shield 5 which is a complete joke nowdays, Shiro heal that you can reflect to heal yourself (that heal is a joke either way, too easy to negate completely).

Single target damage that gets 75% reduction when a clone/invisible object/pet/minion/someone else show up < show me any other class in this game that loses single target damage due to mentioned reason. Full of issues with terrain that causes our skills to not land at all etc.

Its quite funny to complain about hammer when its literally one of the worst weapons in game. Damage scales with range but it has no ability to kite someone or anything, once the gap is closed rev plays with only 1 wep set if their second was hammer. Id take ranger longbow anyday anytime over this trash.

For me they should scrap whole revenant and start it from the ground bc its honestly a joke broken beta class nowdays. Not really that much better than other power build due to all the nerfs but unlike other power specs anything with condi faceroll rev.

Rev is theoretically still extremely powerful. But unfortunately they have no way to deal with condi, which is kinda essential.
Basically everything that applies conditions qualifies as hardcounter for power shiro and thats a problem.
I would agree on the full rework btw. But I would like to fully rework a lot of things.
Anet doesnt. The latest patches look a lot like they are generally happy and are only making small shaves here and there.
Revenant is a class with a very interesting concept and great potential, I hope they find a way to use that.
But I wouldnt count on it.

The problem is that all our weapon skills are spammable.
So whichever of these skills deals the highest damage we can just use over and over.
At the same time we used to complain that damage on initiative-heavy skills is bad for pvp, since we need the ini as a defensive ressource to stay alive at all.
So what they did is put the damage on AA and all other skills are either defensive or utility (or useless)
Its basically the easiest solution to a highly coplicated problem.

DH is still good against Thieves which are being picked much more than Revenant this season, so I wouldn’t say it’s bad.

A thief using dash and sig of agility has no problem stomping DH in this meta

Well there doesnt seem to be much feedback to comment on…like 80% of the thread is not about the season at all.
And actually matches arent easy to predict now, if the team comps arent totally ridiculous or countering each other you can rarely tell before the first few encounters.

The build is btw interesting, Ive seen something like it in action today…a fast guardian…it was truly fascinating.

There isnt much they can do against class stacking im afraid. It would be nice, but players can swap classes in game as they like, its up to us to not do it.

On your basic statement I agree. Theyve done a lot right since april 19, but they have to stay on this path to overcome the trauma HoT left us with.

Well here is my latest scores…

Matchmaking is perfect… Not :P I don’t think it is very different to last season, It was almost the same. Lot’s of losses but a few wins and then suddenly I have a long winning streak.

I almost got a 50/50 now and I won’t realy complain becouse this way I can atleast advance to Ruby but it aint fun loosing 3-4 matches in a row becouse the game wants you too.

Did 3 matches after this picture and had a loss win loss, the two losses was stronghold matches where I was solo with a 4 and a 3 man guilds with low Divisions (like they where playing with rookie friends or something).

Edit: And about the lag, I had that too recently… It could be at Anets end becouse my internet seems fine and I am on a 100/10 fibre with no Wi-fi.

(You are actually presenting evidence that the MM works as intended. This how randomness works: you get an average of ~50% but the results are clustered.)

The class is whatever you make out of it.
The nerf was uncalled for but guard is still not dragging your team down.
Like: a 2-stack guards is probably safer to play than a 2-stack thieves.
Guardians might be at the bottom of the food chain right now, but they are still perfectly competitive and as meta as you can get without being called op.

A) So you blame matchmaking for a dc?
B) An estimated 10% of all who got to legendary deserved to be there.
C) It is always comforting to think your team cant play (and, being observant, you can detect players that are worse than you), but usually a team fails/wins not just 4 players.

So yeah. We will need time and statistics to say anything, but right now it looks like matchmaking works much better and everyone who is experiencing any different is probably just on a bad streak.
Last seasons there were obviously problems with matchmaking, and it seems like it has become a convenient excuse for a loosing streak (those actually happen naturally, even to the best of us)

All pvp gear is normalized.
All abilities and traits (if you have HoT) are unlocked.
The level of your character does not matter and your equipped items count as if they were lvl 80 exotic.
You can only unlock a small range of items with some gold.
If you want to build a char for PvP you might instead turn your attention to wvw.

Build diversity among classes

Well. Inter class balance came first and that right as they did it.
1) Inter class
2) Intra class
You can see it when you analyze the april 19 patch.
For example for classes like warrior and thief, being too weak in the current meta, they buffed ‘mainstream’ traits.
Lead attacks for example. They took something every thief has and made it stronger.
Classes, however like mesmer, ele, scrapper did not receive buffs to the popular stuff, rather to underused weapons, traits and utilities.

So basically they are doing it the right way. They just do it like very slowly.
Can be a good thing to take it slow, can also be seen as negative. Depends on your point of view. (If you dont like your current build you will probably want them to work faster)

If you have trouble surviving without marauder, take it. Damage loss should be around 5% or smthng. Maybe a little more if you have a lot of precision buffs flying around.
The last time we had this discussion someone also brought up dimishing returns on power, so it could also be a lil’ less, but I have no idea how that part is calculated.

Build diversity in pve…actually its ok. You can run different weaponsets, armor and traitlines.
But notice that most of them are doing the same thing: stick to the boss, doge,1,1,1,1 dodge.
If youre talking open world pve thief might be the most fun class there is. The mobility is amazing and can even make silverwastes seem fun.
Basically we have two ‘main’ builds.
One uses condi and team buffs and is best used in raid groups, especially with a bigger percentage of other condi useres.
The other one is what most of us run. Shadowsteps, blinds, evades, tons of direct damage but very little group utility. The best way to shine on a daredevil is with a good ps to your right and a chrono to your left, cause you cant even buff yourself.

In pvp we are out of that hole we were stuck in for the last two seasons.
Thief performs pretty good now. But you have to realize: if you want to play thief, you will not fight much.
As soon as you get engaged in longer term fights, something is going wrong.
It means your team rotated wrong and forced you to def a point.
Its not like you couldnt win anything, there are now a lot of encounters we have a chance to win.
But the risk and the time invested are usually not worth trying.
-You support teammates by making any even fight uneven.
-You lurk around outside a teamfight until you see someones health drop. You move in, kill, move out.
-You go whereever they are not and force them to move.
-If they fall for it you can skip multiple players around a point. A good thief is almost unkillable (unless there is another thief)

Digging out smthng like this is like a big punch in the face of all ‘the game used to be great but HoT ruined it/elitespecs ruined it/trait overhaul ruined it’-folks.
Wouldnt be suprised if people soon started to talk about how great season 1 was.

But then again there is the darker side of this.
-Fool me once, shame on you.

In other words: Why are they making the same mistake again?

You should probably take into account that a clone confusing you is intended behaviour.
Its kinda the class concept.
Actually im dissappointed the real mesmer is so easy to figure out, that clones can only realistically be used to be burned in shatters.
And you shouldnt be fighting any mesmers on a rev btw.

Up until recently it could use merc, sage or carrion amulets. (power version uses marauder or paladin) Now it just uses the later two.

And despite what people here have said unless you greatly out skill the player using it there are a decent number of specs that simply cannot kill it & die rather easily to it due to how much evasion it has, low CD stun breaks & ways to reset the fight.

My advice is this

1: Roll a scrapper, ele or rev (they are by far the favorites of the design team and the most flexible classes when it comes to how they play and what they can handle)

2: Don’t take PvP seriously. At best its a game of rock paper scissors with certain specs always having the upper hand vs others. (assuming equal skill) At worst its just impossible for anyone especially Anet to balance.

A) Tho I would personally use acrobatics for such builds, it is not the popular choice.
They also dont use traps, rarely impairing daggers and probably CV over withdraw for more dodges.

B) You need reliable condicleanse and either heavy cc or good passive pressure. If your profession does not offer that, its hard to kill them. But by no means you have to ‘greatly outskill’ them.
The only build that is significantly in disadvantage is power shiro.

Yeah, we should probably try to get more safe skills in the game.
Auto evade is a good start, tho I would also add a leap or a shadowstep.
Scrapper hammer shall lead us into a new age of weapon design.

Well, tho a deathmatch type could be fun and I certainly dont want to keep it from players who want it, I am strongly against the idea to use it as measurement of ‘skill’

K/d, damage, healing, score…all of this means next to nothing in the current game, I dont see that change significantly in a deathmatch.
Quite the contrary, imagine I would play a bunkery thief type, jump around the battlefield with the thief’s signature immortality and put two vaults on every downed to secure me the kill: k:20/d:0

Its an otp. It does basically have infinite evades and it can be really annoying to kitten off players that dont know how to deal with it (or revs).
But in the end off the day it will die to most opponents who know the evade frames and know how to time their skills.

Do heart of maguuma, they are harder but quicker (give 10points/challenge)
But besides that, no.
You just do you cant buy or shortcut elitespecs, tho some people might prefer wvw over actual exploration.

How about an option that automatically gives all your stuff to random players that started the game <1 month ago once you quit.
