Signet of Inspiration change.
Passive: 25% speed
Active: you and nearby allies get a random boon
and give it less recharge time may be 30

Signet of Illusions change.
Passive: Illusions(clones) apply (extra with Debilitating Dissipation) random condition to nearby foes when they are killed.
Active: Recharge your shatter skills
this will help with two things Mesmer speed and clones dying fast in zerg.

first since Mesmer is slow you need something for speed (runes of the travler)you don’t need the zerg waiting .
second you need to be the last man standing a tanky build with condition damage and staff would work.
all you utility should be about group support.

Mesmer:
1-Wastrel’s Punishment- Increased damage to foes who are not using a skill.
If auto attack is considered a skill then this need to be removed.
2-why is Compounding Power in Illusions switch it with Vigorous Revelation from Inspiration line.
3-Compounding Celerity only one build will may be use it useless trait Mesmer needs another way to keep up with others speed buff needed.

After the kitten up that GW2 is, why would you even want a GW3?

because I’m not having fun playing the game . I’m waiting for a good game to be released so I can move on.

how would you like GW3 to be.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Assyrian.4827

for me I would like GW3 to be nothing like GW2.
1-Story and content should go together and should be repeatable like the missions in GW1.
2-Multi classing and lots of skills.
3- Skills not tied to weapons.
4-Good AI which uses skills instead of bags of hp and one shot mechanic.
5-Smaller world bosses so I can use my sword to kill it not cannons.
6- No down state.
7-less clutter.
8-No RNG or Mystic toilet.

What genre is Guild Wars 2 actually?

1-condition damage cap. 5 Necro party
2-Limited skills and builds. Makes the game very fun after a few months.
3-One shot kill. You did not see that one coming because of particle effects .
4-join the Zerg train or you are unable to play.
5-high HP enemy with lazy mechanic.
6- time gates + Ascended =?
7-build template.
8- pvp or what is left.
.
.
I’m sure there is more But this time I’m not here to complain.
I’m here to ask is it because GW2 went the F2P path with gems that it very slow on fixing the game and making it more fun to play .
Anet knows what will make the game more fun to play yet they are very slow on that path.
it really come out to Resources to make changes and Anet don’t have any control over this because NC Soft is in charge.

Also all the traits that give bonus while you have clones up are a big joke since we need an enemy to create clones that will slow us (combat speed).

Is Anet afraid of expansion not selling?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Assyrian.4827

Assyrian.4827

You really think that ArenaNet, being afraid that their expansion might not sell well, decided to instead add free content to the game instead (which still costs them the same to build in terms of manpower)?

Just think about that for a second. Does your premise still make sense now?

Yes I do.
GW2 has core problems and patch after patch it is getting worst (condition damage/vertical progression) it was a better game at release.
what they are giving now is not free someone is paying for it. but how many wings and bag items they are going to buy without new players that will decrease.
instead of going for more audience they decided to keep what they have now.
what we are getting from LS has nothing to do with GW2 lore. who is going to invade the next city the green pirates from Mars.

Just kill Scarlet and be done with it please.

Plot twist: Scarlet marries Traherne and retires. The end.

No! You foo—

Shiro Tagachi revives, kills Kormir, steals her power and uses the Jade Wind on all of Cantha, preparing to slam Cantha into Tyria.

Vizier Khilbron comes back and absorbs Zhaitan’s power, becoming the new leader of the Risen and pushing the Pact out of Orr.

The Mursaat, led by Lazarus the Dire, return in force and descend upon Divinity’s Reach and kill the queen, then begin indoctrinating the citizens of Kryta to serve them, and killing/sacrificing those who resist.

Gaheron Baelfire returns and becomes and even bigger fire-lich, blowing up the Black Citade——

Ok, no, that one wouldn’t happen. But the other three probably would, and much worse, if what you say comes to pass. Besides, not even Trehearne deserves to have to put up with Scarlet. That’s just too evil.

A message for the negative player base

Assyrian.4827

if you’re gonna kitten that much about the game….stop playing? seeing the negative player base 24/7 in every part of the forums is getting discouraging.. or is this how every mmo forum works? i stopped checking in because of this, but i want to be able to enjoy the forums without all the hate.

if you’re that unhappy, maybe it’s not the game for you; that’s ok! Maybe you think gw1 blows gw2 out of the water…that’s also ok. But why be upset that gw2 isn’t gw1? why not just play and enjoy gw1? There is nothing wrong with disliking this game, but there is no need to complain so consistently about it. They are not so much helpful suggestions as they are just posts demanding something from anet or whining about the company and its game. Much like this post is just whining about whiners.

sincerely,
a player who also may want a thing or two to change but thoroughly enjoys the game and is satisfied playing it.

I agree with you except you are very wrong about what is in bold.

Posting this separately both for clarity and because the forum complained that my post was too long when I included it in the one above:

lol @ OP, I actually think that MAYBE 1-5% of the GW2 population came from GW1. GW1 was an insanely tiny niche game.

Completely untrue. GW1 sold about twice the number of boxes GW2 did, 6 millions in fact. That is not a niche game by any measure.

http://www.guildwars.com/events/press/releases/pressrelease-2009-04-24.php

After twelve months, GW2 hit 3.5 mllion copies. GW1 hit 6 million in 2009, four years after it launched.(Released in April 2005, press release announcing 6 million is April 2009.) To compare those two numbers directly is just nonsensical. A more accurate comparison would be GW1 hitting 3 million in December 2006, twenty months after launch. Only time will tell how long it’ll take GW2 to hit 6 million, without the campaign releases that fueled GW1, but for their first year out, GW2 is trouncing GW1 in sales. Even if GW1 doesn’t hit 6 million, it also has gem sales to bolster its total revenue.

GW2 hit 3 million because of GW1.
GW1 did not have GW2 it started from scratch.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Assyrian.4827

Why I’m asking this is because GW2 is more than ready for an expansion and really need one.
I think Anet is afraid that the expansion will not sell. my opinion is based on the negative posts about GW2 and the number of players still playing they have the numbers.
GW2 will be tested by its own expansion or by the release of new MMOs.
are they afraid to test GW2?

I’ll try to post it again and if this lead (again) to the thread cancellation: my apologies.

From Eurogamer Expo 2013
Q: How close are you to the manifesto you posted before the game’s release?
A: Still hold core values but had to make some adjustments during development. Sometimes we have to stray away from what we have said in the past.

Let’s see what was declared with the manifesto:

Points they are still close to:

  • The look of Guild Wars 2 is stylized. We’re going for a painterly, illustrated aesthetic.
  • Cause and effect: A single decision made by a player cascades out in a chain of events.

Points from which they have decided to stray away:
- Guild Wars 2 takes everything you love about Guild Wars 1 and puts it into a persistent world.

  • B2P sustaining itself mainly through the release of new campaigns. No.
  • GvG? No.
  • Guild halls. No.
  • Guild capes. No.
  • UW? FoW? Alliance battle? No.
  • Focus on Horizontal progression? No.
  • Secondary profession? No.
  • Region free servers? No.
  • Alliance system? No.
  • Skills capturing? No.
  • Heroes? No.
  • Low and persisting level cap? No.
  • Hard Mode? No.
  • Costumes? No.
  • Dances differentiated by profession and gender. No.
  • Lore. Are you serious?
  • Etc etc. No. xD

- A game that defies existing conventions: (old school Mmorpg vs. Guild Wars 2)

  • Vertical Progression. -> Vertical Progression (but slower)
  • Farming. -> Farming.
  • Quest system. -> Renamed: Hearts, Dailies, Living Story.
  • Raid. -> (World Bosses?) ~ Work in progress ~
  • Trinity. DPS/Tank/Healer -> Redefined: Warrior-Guardian-Mesmer

- We just don’t want players to grind in Guild Wars 2. No one enjoys that. No one finds it fun. We want to change the way that people view combat.

  • Open PvE: Join the zerg spam 1, dodge if required (if not, you will roam alone in an almost dead world)
  • Interact with “put some random object name” in the world for hundreds of times.
  • Kill “put some random mob name” in the world for hundreds of times.

- As a structure, the MMO has lost the ability to make the player feel like a hero. Everybody around you is doing the same thing you are doing.

  • Run in circle (Frostgorge/Queensdale/…) to kill Champions doing the same things others are doing and in the same order at the same time.
  • You make all the hard work during the personal story, a salad take the credits.

- We respect you—as a player, as a human being.

  • So they decided to totally ignore our feedback on forum and close every thread that disagree with their decisions, without giving us any response.

Yes it is the money what they want and WOW is making money.

If I love GW2, why so bored when I play?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Assyrian.4827

My reasons are:
1-Skills.make weapons have skill slots like utility.
2- Improve enemy AI.
3-There is no threat in GW2. who we are fighting we should be in war with someone. we most hate the enemy to kill it the enemy must have a reason to kill us.
my example is from GW1 charr vs humans (fighting for land) humans vs stone summet (crossing land).
the story in GW2 is not connected to the zones(except for Orr).
4-No character progression horizontal not vertical NO journey(RPG).
5-RNG in Skills.
6-Lack of Speed buff for Mesmer.

But make all skills that apply condition apply less reduce across the board .
this will help Anet (condition cap issue) the server will have less info to track.

Can we get one of the Living story update about personal story.
you guys can come up with a twist to change tow of most hated things in personal story
1-the final fight.
2- Trahearne. (took me 10 mins to find his name).
what encouraged me to write this is the change to the way we will be fighting Tequatl.
this will give a reason for players to do the personal story again or finish it for the players who don’t want to do it as it is now.

My concerns

in PvP

Posted by: Assyrian.4827

Assyrian.4827

I don’t think PvP is done by any means. We’ve had some great successes this year, the total PvP population has gone up tremendously as the year has progressed and is much larger than Gw1’s PvP ever was at it’s height, which is nice to see since the game hasn’t launched in half the world yet

I don’t know why I find this so hard to believe considering Gw1’s PvP was so much more active. So much more fun. Just so much more in general.

may be it is GW2 PvP +WvW.

My concerns

Assyrian.4827

why looking in PvE for PvP players.
because PvP players were ignored for a year.
and from watching the developer answer to one of the questions they will never come back.
Q. will we get more modes for PvP like GvG?
the answer he got was NO the mode we have is fine and we will not add GvG because we have WvW.

I don’t think people want to mindless zerg. I assume we want strategy to be a big part of the gameplay…or wasn’t that the intention of GW2 combat?

that is an important thing you said but it is not just for end game the problem is with the combat system and enemy AI.
instead of fixing Anet is encouraging zerg play with LS.

Arthur did not spend months nearly years to make an Excalibur from a very low end weapon but you make an Excalibur in ff11 that took a lot of work to the point where it would take a full LS spending months running events to get an item for ONE person. I do not think you understand how good you have it in GW2 when it comes to getting very nice looking and very strong weapons and gear when it comes compared to other mmorpgs.

I think you missed his point entirely. Though your argument isn’t entirely without merit. Sure there are harder games to get good looking gear in. The only one of them that is even vaguely relevant is WoW. Any game that the gear has been harder to acquire is nonissue because they were not successful as games. (Please don’t try to claim ffxi was anything even remotely close to successful as an mmo, it peaked under the amount of box sales that many “failure” mmos launch with)

You should easily be able to see the OPs argument though. The OP, and many like him, are not asking to be handed a legendary. What they are asking for is something as epic as the title of “Legendary” deserves. There is nothing “epic” or “legendary” about simply gambling. What they want is a true legendary quest. They want to feel like they’ve actually earned, and accomplished something by getting their legendary. Unfortunately that isn’t the case.

I’m not going to say that either person is right or wrong, I personally don’t think GW2 has the shelf life for it to matter to me. It matters to other people though, and they seem to mostly agree that getting a legendary doesn’t feel legendary at all.

This +
We might never see any change to the way we get rewards in this game and the thing to blame is TP.

You are right I don’t play fotm because I don’t like vertical progression.

So you ignore the hardest content in the game and them make claims about teamwork. Plenty of teamwork in WvW and TPvP, and in PvE there’s still plenty of team work in my guild.

Maybe because everyone doesn’t roll an lul easy-mode warrior and we actually play professions we enjoy playing that incidentally make the game more challenging.

My main is a Mesmer and I don’t enjoy playing melee I’m a caster.
can you please explain what kind of team work is needed if all what we have is adding more dps.
It is proven before that anything other than dps is not the best way to go because it takes more time to do the same thing.

I killed Zhaitan… wait, I still dont know what happened. It just seem that it shows up and died on the mountain without me doing anything.

You should have followed the story better. You’d already by that time blinded and starved him, as well as crippling his ability to make more undead. Also the weapon used to take him down was developed by an Asuran who gets saved in the Asuran story line who you actually meet if you play that storyline. It uses special anti-dragon energy to bring him down.

So by the time you take him down, you’ve already done the damage. The boss fight starts at around level 70 and continues until the end of Arah.

An injured animal is far more dangerous.
