Yeah I had no crashes at all, until HoT.. I just wish I could sort the issue out, because losing where you were in WVW due to a game crash is rage inducing lol…
So ever since HOT came out, and I’ve been WVW’ing a bit more than usual, I see really random, but consistent crashes. At least a time or two per day, and I’m not sure exactly what is triggering it… I’ve tried updating video drivers, have tried keeping as little closed as possible, but it’s starting to get frustrating. Nothing like getting a crash while in the middle of stonemist castle or something, and having to run all the way back and whatnot.

The tag needs to be removed entirely, or only be allowed in starter zones.
I have seen the same thing, but with Commander tags.
I was going to say the same thing… To say that this didn’t or doesn’t happen with commander tags is utterly ridiculous. And it’s sad when everyone’s kittened off because they don’t feel like a special snowflake or something. The commander bit has more tools than the mentor portion. To be honest, I’d rather them just make commander tag available in WvW, and keep the mentor tag in PVE maps, and let it sort itself out.
Really the only kittening and moaning that is prevalent in the thread is people don’t feel special now, and that’s kind of silly. Just my two cents, anyhow.

Why would you say folks are crying? There’s a difference in crying and wondering why in the hell there isn’t a bit more communication about a hot topic.
I’m more than patient, but relaying information is important, in my opinion, and people would be more understanding if they would let folks know an ETA, if there is one, or at least acknowledging that they are still working on it.
This involves WvW and not PvE or Gem Store, therefore there won’t be hourly patches issued to resolve it, unlike tooltip typos in PvE land.
Sadly that seems to be the case… there was consistent updates in the first day or two mostly regarding PVE iirc… I hope they have it sorted out soon, I really dislike hero points being gated behind grinding mastery until my eyes bleed…
Some news on the subject would be amazing, though. And here, not on some place like reddit.

Really though, 2-4 is kind of atrocious, but I’ve yanked my hair out trying to navigate the zones, and to be honest, you have a lot more fun if you’re not attempting to get to places that requires tons of grinding to get to.
I guess I understand gating things a little, but if you want to obtain it through WvW, you kind of feel like you’re getting the shaft for it. I just don’t enjoy spending tons of time trying to get to a hero point, to find out it’s a champion pack that I’m going to have to hope and pray someone else comes over as well in order to get it done..
Outside of that, I am enjoying the game! I just think they need to re-evaluate the cost of elite specs.

Very fast. They remove a post calling someone out in a blink of an eye. You’d think moderators would have at least been like “woah perhaps I should let someone higher up know, this seems to be a problem that seems to be increasing by the day.”
Yeah I’ve started working on a ranged class myself for badge farming. Sometimes running face first into a zerg isn’t the logical thing to do. Even taking towers/keeps – the ranged classes can attack people on the walls all day long (and usually in my group they nab a few kills doing so) so that’s even more bags/badges.
The current system is very unfriendly towards melee IMO. I do okay, but it’s kind of silly at how much a buddy of mine gets in comparison because 9/10 times he just stands in one place while everyone beats my face in hah.

I agree… But then again after being on a treb for 2-3 hours last night and occasionally firing diseased cows.. It’s kind of funny at how many kills you can get while people stand in the green gas.
Iohanna, we kicked Windowshaker from guild after finding out they were exploiting into hills. We reported them as well.

Left unchecked? How about the only peice of anti-personnel siege that can be placed in a location that cannot be destroyed? Making them a bit too ridiculous.
I would love to see them gone. Everything else is fine, but arrow carts take away what makes sieging keep/tower doors the most fun. In all seriousness 4 arrow carts can stop a 40man push on a door. That’s insane, and it pigeonholes you into using certain tactics at a constant leaving very little variety.
How do you propose stopping a 40 man push on a door? Just let them in? I’m sorry but people on the defense need a way to do just that. Defend.
Distract the enemy elsewhere to pull them off arrow carts, 3-6 people sneak around, set up two quick arrow carts. Bombard the wall with arrows. Kill the said arrow carts then profit. Have seen it done so many times while defending. They can be countered. They can be easily destroyed.
Sometimes mindlessly throwing yourself at a door isn’t the way to take something. Sometimes it’s effective, but usually it’s not.
I agree with Usagi. If you can defend the first time, there should be a cooldown of 30 minutes or so before the event happens again. If they can’t get it the first time, that should give defenders a chance to make any repairs/get more siege set up etc in preperation for the second assault. Good concept overall but it needs to be tweaked.

Well I am glad to see that TC, CD, and FA are most certainly on the same page. If you do see someone from FA doing it, please let us know here as we will do the same.
Ticks me off when it’s an entire guild though devoted to those practices however.
Dear FAs, it was a good fight at your Bay till an exploiter, a black haired human female mesmer from the guild Upper Echelon [Echo] glitched into inner Bay’s lord room by going through the gate, and portal-ed some of your zerg on to our walls.
We have screenshots and have reported everyone who went through the portals dropped by the said mesmer. I’ve noticed most of you guys have not taken the portal, so you guys must have known WTH has been going on at the time, please report said person and keep our WvW exploit free. We will do the same if you guys ever find anyone from TC responsible for exploiting, thank you and good night.
I think everyone can agree regardless of server, exploiting is wrong. We recently removed a couple of guild members of our own over it.
As you can see in my screenshot, a guild was able to drop into hills – bypassing all of the walls/gates. This needs to be addressed sooner than later.

@Elite Slasher – Your a commander, act like one. WTF is with that book of a post you wrote.
@Lanimal (for why TC is better) – Overall you are right. FA has become basically a wasteland of tactics and zerging. We act more like a pack of dogs then a army in general. That being said I have seen TC do some very stupid very horrible things (on a large scale), so your not that amazing yet. Winning so many weeks in a row certianly helps TC in moral/numbers and attracting talent.
From what I am seeing out of FA I have to say the server seems to be dieing. More and more people are no longer showing up, our tactics basically drop a level every week. 50% of the people seem to be interested in open world 5v5 or similar pvp matches and no objectives whatsoever, the other 50% are just looking to zerg something, anything. We almost never pick up our downed players. We have gotten even worse about defending/upgrading. Or when we do defend, we tend to defend the worst defensible keeps/towers. We take objectives for no strategic purpose whatsoever, and never stick around to hold them. We don’t seem to know what a treb is. We have basically no communication whatsoever and our major guilds are so insular they almost cant work with other people. We even have started auto attacking gates on large scale again. We need to go back to basics and start over again because we are not going in the right direction FA.
That doesn’t describe what I’ve seen at all in the times I’ve been playing. In fact across multiple guilds there has been a lot more coordination between people than 2-3 weeks ago.
Do you even play on FA? I have yet to see anyone auto attack a gate down without siege. Will people attack gates if nothing else needs to be done while siege does it’s work? Yep.
You shouldn’t say players on FA play the way you say, I don’t see it. In fact you should probably hop into WvW, things have changed since a month or two ago.

I think the most important thing to remember is that it’s just a game and all in good fun. We have a long history with FA, and even though we’re not going to be matched up after this week (TC to T2 and FA to T4) you guys have been really fun to practice against. It’s not a big deal who wins or loses, I think everyone just wants to have fun, challenging match ups. Let’s try to get through this last week without any drama, we all play this game for the same reason: to have fun.
CD you have been really awesome too, keep an eye out for Yaks, those guys are tenacious.
Except: At the moment FA isn’t moving anywhere. And according to the website, Yak’s have dropped points (even when beating the snot out of T4 mind you.)
Perhaps they could add more things to the defenses? Boiling water/etc to counter the use of ladders. I’m not sure what you could do and such but I do like the idea of where people are going with the discussion

There is a big WvW update coming Feb everyone is looking forward to. I have a feeling that patch will drastically change how WvW is played. And I think it will be for the better.
I’m pretty anxious to know what they have planned. I could care less about all of the PVE events – I’m more than looking forward to finding out what could potentially change!

It’s still too early though, the week has only just started. Not sure how the momentum goes after the weekend for all 3 servers and the one’s above and below our tier. Anything can change until reset (or atleast 2 days before reset).
Oh my gosh! That is not good. We weren’t suppose to be in tier 2 until AFTER the Wintersday Event!

is it all GODS do in WvW ? killing DOLYAKS ? WTG brothers from another servers and Derv always repeat we dont zerg, never ever… they just run in 30packs…
What in the kitten are you talking about? There was no one in GODS apart of what happened last night.
And we don’t zerg, haven’t zerged in quite a while. Get your facts straight before spouting nonsense. The only time you’ll see more than 15 people in any specific area, is because we need that many to take on the massive zergs we see in specific areas of the map. And even then there usually is coordination between the two teams. If we get rolled a time or two and know we just need more people – obviously we are going to get more.
Phantom, I’d give it a rest. It reflects just as poorly on us to throw fits and it might on individuals from other servers. At this point, we should sort of turn it in, stop fanning flames, and just hunker down for the next round. No one’s going anywhere, anyway.
I agree. ^The reaction by some TC has been as immature as the party crasher’s actions. In light of the news events of the day in the US, this all seems really, really petty at this stage.
Please stop using the event right now. I don’t know what server you’re on, just stop if you please…

I was actually in FABL, when my wife told me what happened. I just signed off the game…..
Yeah it’s pretty sad, 20 children dead, 6 adults dead is the count at the moment (at least that’s what the media is saying.)

I’m begging to ask what the whole of GODS did to be shunned by the entire community on FA.
The majority of GODS on right now (3:51 am EST) is in our own FA BL. Myself, and I’m sure I can speak for the rest of anyone that posts on here do not exploit, refuse to exploit, and do not condone exploiting. I can come here too and spout false claims if you’d like, but at least back those up with a screenshot if you’re going to.

I laugh at this. Your guild has a huge zerg. You field easily the most players in one place on your server. To deny this is comical.
The only time you’re going to find the entirety of GODS in any one place in a map, is when some hardcore defense is needed at specific areas. Because we CAN field a lot of people in one particular area, does not mean we do. In fact we haven’t ran around as a zerg in quite some time actually.

I guess it must strike you as odd then that no one from CD and TC was also there to crash it? What were they thinking, not crashing it?
I wouldn’t know. I wasn’t there. But to not think SOMEONE, regardless of server wouldn’t have tried to spoil it? RPing is not my playstyle, and dislike it as a whole. If people want to whatever. I’m merely pointing out, if you host an event on a W3 map, you should expect hostility from someone (especially when you openly broadcast it.)

I had no part of it, nor was I there to do any crashing regardless as I wasn’t even in the BL at the time. It’s still a valid point- openly posting things and having events in W3 areas is just asking for trouble.

WVW JP is in a WvW area and therefore remain a part of the “if it’s red, it’s dead” mentality to me and a few others.
I tried occasionally being nice about going in, ignoring people etc. Too many times has it bit me in the kitten People are going to have to fight for their siege.
Edit: And a pic that I saw someone else post that makes complete sense and made me chuckle.

That and there was just a post today if I’m not mistaken about how they removed like some huge number such as 35,000 or something bots.
I agree that bots are awful, and I’m glad to see them taking actions against them. But taxing those of us that are legit players makes me want to kick a dog.
I’ve also escorted them a few hours myself. While it may not seem like much, it’s almost vital and necessary if upgrades are to be made.
I agree with above posters that all WvW rewards should be increased. By how much, is up in the air and I’m unsure of. But I figure everyone who is doing their part should be rewarded appropriately.
Just quit life and play gw2. Real life can wait.
In all seriousness – did I just get trolled? If it’s genuine, take a break from the game, the game will carry on without you just fine.

Thieves. Not because I really get killed by them – I just find it completely absurd that any class can completely remove themselves from combat as often as they want.
That, and it’s silly that they can open up with the amount of damage they do. That’s just my opinion of course. But it might just be my distaste for the class in general as I’ve always despised thieve/rogue type of classes in any game lol.
