The downside of leaving it open, larger map strain, is a somewhat moot argument as, on most servers, Divinity’s Reach rarely has a large enough population to reach overflow. If the city were in constant overflow, it might be a different matter, but the population is far too sparse for that on the majority of servers.

I suffered the same problem with both a MasterCard and a Visa just a moment ago.

Well, I’m trying to see if it’d be possible to refund an in-game item. Due to an issue with my mouse being a piece of junk, I bought the tier 3 cultural shoulder armor of a weight class my character doesn’t use. Due to the low refund value, I’m down 17.5 gold, and I was wondering if it would be possible to find out if I can get that back or not.

It seems there’s no way to get customer support for in-game problems that aren’t bugs. The support site seems to be focused on account problems, and the bug report in-game is focused, of course, on bugs. I was wondering if anybody knew of a way to contact customer support to get help with a problem in-game.

Think it’s called Rugged or something. I’m not too sure, but I think you obtain it from the personal story around level 70.

It would be convenient to have a system in place that allowed players to return items for a full refund within a, most likely, short period of time after buying it. My mouse is occasionally buggy, clicking twice instead of once, and it has caused me to buy items from vendors a number of times on accident. The most recent case being that I had purchased the Tier 3 Cultural Armor shoulders of an armor class my character doesn’t wear while previewing all of the sets. It cost a hefty 20 gold, and if I were to sell it back I would only receive 2.5 gold, which is a pretty steep loss for a misclick.

As it stands, many items purchased from vendors can be sold for prices significantly lower than what they are purchased for. It would solve the problem of buying items on accident if you had a small window of time in which any items purchased from vendors for gold, karma, or tokens could be returned for a full refund, as long as they were not used, equipped, etc.

What do you get when you combine two moa?

Moa problems.

Need to find a goal to set, whether it’s karma gear, cultural armor, a legendary, or something, and slowly work toward it. Play a bit every day to reach that goal. Not like you have a set amount of time to play due to a subscription, so just play when you want to have fun or whatever.

If you aren’t enjoying it, wager whether the $60 was well-spent, and if it isn’t do more research before buying games or something. A.net went into detail on blog posts about how there wasn’t really much progression in the game months before release.

You yell “FOR GR- ON MY- SHAKE IT OFF!” when somebody insults you.

I find myself disagreeing. My Warrior is very capable of dishing out significant ranged damage, supporting allies with shouts (which are traited to heal fairly heavily, as well), and can stay alive through a lot with the aid of the Signet and the healing shouts. Warriors are fairly good all-rounders, and can do many things with average proficiency if specced with nothing really in mind. If you spec for Defense, however, you can take a much worse pounding than most Guardians. If you spec for support, you can throw out game-changing banners and shouts. If you spec for sheer damage, you can hit pretty gruesomely. You can’t hope around on the fly like some other classes, but Warriors can specialize for single jobs fairly well and do the rest of their jobs acceptably for the majority of the time.

Hell, I’ve heard Warriors being called the best ranged DPS in the game, and I find myself agreeing some times.

Most of the stuff to do at level 80 are supposed to be very long-term investments that take time and effort. Legendaries and cultural gear are special, unique skins for the people that have the ability to acquire all the necessary components and resources. That’s what makes them special and recognizable.

I, personally, think that the cultural armor doesn’t have a steep price, all things considered. I like the idea of having a goal that takes a long time to work for. Gives me something to do.

One is when I was fighting the kitten blender with a fairly dysfunctional team. Peppering him with my rifle, I managed to dodge right before he dragged everybody in. It killed my entire group, save for me. I used every ability I had trying to buy time as he came towards me. Right before I dodged he pounced me and kicked me off the edge to my death. I was laughing so hard at how I died I took a minute to respawn.

Another is anytime I have my Tropical Bird summoned. For an example, he was out in TA right at the end of the first turret area in story, and immediately flew off to pull a group of dogs as I yelled ‘kittenING BIRD!’, accompanied by the laughs of my group.

You guys are treating magic find in a way it’s not supposed to be treated.

Magic find is immensely useful if you’re farming out in the world at level 80. It’s not a combat stat, so treating it as one isn’t fair. But it will help immensely when gathering the various materials needed for crafting, legendaries, trading on the post, etc. If you’re fighting in a dungeon or in WvW, gear with stats meant for fighting will, of course, be better. Mainly because I think dungeon drops might be dependent on contribution, but I have no idea.

First of all, you’re not exactly affluent by most standards. Second of all, many commanders achieved their compendium by taking a small amount of gold from all the members of their guild, if their guild is organized.

Not too difficult if the guild has a plan and has a designated commander. That’s kind of what A.net had thought of when they made it so expensive.

First rule of MMO forums: Everything I play is total kitten, and everything you play is OP and for casuals.

The stuff at level 80 is supposed to be a matter of time. I’m fine with the price, and I’ve been gathering money for a long time. The skin looks good enough to spend the money, in my opinion, and it gives me a big goal to strive for on my level 80, so I can hardly complain.

Just be patient and play normally. You’ll get the set eventually.

If you get caught by a hammer warrior and you’re stuck in melee range, either he’s a better player or he’s a better player, simple as that. The severe lack of mobility with hammer makes it very bad against classes that can kite with ease. Paired correctly with mobility weapons, and the warrior is a bigger threat. It’s less the hammer being OP, and more tactical use of weapon swapping being OP. Which, y’know, is an intended part of the game.

This may have been suggested before, so I apologize for any redundancy, but I’d like to suggest the aggressiveness of the Tropical Bird summoned from the Sixth tier of the ‘Of The Pirate’ ruins be toned down. As it is, it will actively seek out and pull mobs, sometimes multiple, and it can be immensely annoying if there are elites and champions in the vicinity. The bird would be far more useful, in my opinion, if he would stand by until you attacked or were attacked by an enemy, and then start fighting.

Probably not a major change, and nothing too important, but it would help with a lot of the downsides of using all six Pirate ruins.

80 Charrior and 24 Thiefari, 10/10

I have to force myself to focus on these characters instead of making alts, and I have to try to rein my mind in to stay on one path instead of wandering off.

Really? Maybe on some tiers the items vendor for more than the mats sell on TP, but I think salvaging whites and salvage items always nets a profit. Especially in Copper/Jute tiers, in which a 9 copper item can be salvaged for 20-60 copper on the TP. You only need to use Crude kits, too, which are about 2 copper per salvage.

I’ve seen some players with darker skin tones, and there are several of the common NPC models that have dark skin tones.

I can’t decide on a city, as I love all of them so much.

As far as zones, I like all of the Ascalonian zones. And Shiverpeak zones. And Metrican zones. And Krytan zones…

I may need a few minutes to decide.

If you’re a Shield Warrior, stand in front of your friends and hit 5. Good job, buddy, you just saved them a butt-ton of damage.

I still run into, at the very least, one other character to help for solo-able events, and lots more for group events.

When I did the event with Raizen the Raider in the zone past Iron Marches I had a group of at least 20 level 70s, for example. The world is very large, so the people will be spread out, but announcing events in map chat will generally get some people moving to help.

“i will avenge you!” was very(!!) OP. if you killed someone with this buff all allies which were dead (not downed) rallied.
Imagine WvW, your zerg is dead and you manage to kill someone with “i will avenge you” and instant all your allies are alive…just OP.

But on a serious note, I was sad to see it go, but On My Mark is a very useful shout to have replaced it, even if it doesn’t sound as kitten.

You might not want to hear it, but it’s the truth: Every weapon is viable. They have to be played differently, and they all have different uses, but they are all viable. Experiment with weapons to see what fits you and study their skills to see which weapon combos would be good together. I, surprisingly enough, use Longbow/Rifle on my Warrior and enjoy it due to the even spread of AoE and Single Target paired with the ranged advantage. I only discovered this combo was so effective at about level 55, so it’s evidence that experimenting throughout the game will yield good results.

Learn to use ascii. Like æäÄô and all that. Just have to hold down Alt and type on the numpad in certain orders, not holding the buttons down.

It’d be a waste of Anets time to try to work on any racials, seeing as Charrzooka is the best, hands down. I mean, why even play anything besides the master race when that ability exists? Who even does that?

But, seriously, any work done to make the racials prevalent is good in my book. Even making news ones, too. Avatar of Dwayna, anyone?

Have you even seen Rifle, Dual Axes, Hammer, etc. in action? Each particular weapon has its spot. GS is good for mobility, Rifle is ranged on a single target (or a line if you get the piercing trait), Longbow is ranged AoE, Hammers are group control, etc. Neither is the only one useful for damage, in any way, shape, or form. I actually find that using Rifle and Longbow is a very pleasant departure from the typical Warrior role while still being immensely effective. If you know how to kite well you can be nigh invincible.

The weapons differ greatly in their uses, like on all classes. Utilize their strengths and pair them together to cover their weaknesses. For example, GS’s mobility pairs well with Hammer due to the latter’s lack of mobility and the former’s lack of significant control options.

I personally like the big armor from the 50-60 zones like Iron Marches, even if it’s spikey, nerdy, and makes my Charr look like a bad Pokemon.

Sounds like Warrior is up your alley. The Longbow and Rifle is pretty vicious on them, and they wreck in melee, of course. They’re also one of the tougher classes, in general, so you have to dodge less, though it is a useful skill.

As for race… Charr, possibly? Depends on what type of story you’re looking for.

Make sure you covered all of the WvW Borderlands and Eternal Battleground.

My opinion on the matter is similar to that of my Lord and Ruler, Rytlock the Bad Mofo Brimstone.

I am assuming so, as the playlists themselves work, just not all of the songs. The playlist only plays a certain few of the songs I have listed in it.

I’m more concerned about what kind of lubricant the Charr have that can fit 200 rockets into a Charrzooka…

This is a problem I’ve been having using custom playlists in the game. The playlists I’m using for all the categories consist of MP3 files of the Bastion soundtrack and the Sword and Sworcery soundtrack, in WPL format. The problem is not that I get no music, but that only a few of the songs are played. I hear the same few songs, all from the Bastion soundtrack, and no others, when there are more songs from the Bastion track and the entirety of the S&S track. I have changed the file paths in Notepad to be complete, so that is unlikely to be the problem.

I was wondering if anybody could give me an idea as to what was causing this. If it’s just a matter of the game having a cap on playlist length or if I have to have something set up differently.

They had more forum boards than this during the betas, so I imagine they’ll have more when they expand the forum’s servers. I think they’re more focused on the game, at the moment.

I think it’s just people making mistakes, as the dungeons I’ve done have been far from the trinity.

The most similar thing we had was how I, being a Warrior and the toughest member of our mostly-caster group, stepped in front of ranged attackers to eat their attacks so my group members could throw down all their spells without being hampered by petty things like death.

Occasionally, seemingly randomly, my game will experience a glitch in which I the information blocks from moving my mouse over an item or ability no longer show text. This extends to dialogue with NPCs, interactions, and the pop-up menus to signify an ‘F’ interaction. This last for couple minutes, usually. It used to happen fairly rarely in headstart and onwards, but it seems to be occurring with more frequency, and I was curious as to if anybody knew of a solution or the cause, so I could change accordingly.

Unrelated, but still a problem, is that my computer sometimes freezes for short times randomly, which I suspect to be tied to my monitor, as it is not exclusive to GW2. It can happen for anywhere from a few moments to a few minutes. I was wondering if anybody knew of a solution to this problem as well, as it has been a nuisance for longer than the above one, though it is less related to GW2.
