Dungeon Overhaul Suggestion-AC as an example

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

About dungeon exploration, it may be interesting to change the overall experience breaking the present linearity in the paths. The several events and mid-bosses composing the different paths of a single dungeon, may be organized as possible contents of a unique instance. However, instead going through all of them, the events may be randomly chosen and arranged every time a new instance is opened. The map itself, may be composed like a jig-saw puzzle with rooms and corridors changing order and position every time. In this way a sense of exploration and variation may be preserved also after running the same dungeon several times. Also, the map itself (both from pressing M or in mini-map) should not show areas that has not been approached yet.

Each of the main room composing the dungeon may host a main event or a mini boss presented to the player in a small number of random variations (let’s say three like the number of paths composing each present dungeon). Upon completing a main event, doors and passages may grant access to new areas. Only one of the open paths, however, will trigger the events leading to the final boss while the other routes will access corridors and areas containing trash mobs; or hosting secondary/hidden objectives; or just void. In this way, players will have to explore most of the map in order to find the correct route. Variety may be add in time by introducing new events and rooms in the rotation (which may take less time than creating a whole new instance or a whole mini dungeon like for the Fractals).

Similar dungeons may co-exist with the present ones leaving to players the choice to follow a linear or non-linear adventure. These “new paths” may access new areas of the already existing dungeons; a new path in the Catacombs opened after an earthquake, for example; or a labyrinth in Caudecus Manor expanding the already existing Halls of Madness. It may work similarly to the Fractals but organized in a single instance.

Sigil stacks after last patch

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Bau Bau.7389

It seems you may have had 2 different sigils of bloodlust.

I expected two different sigils of the same type (superior and major) would have done that, so I was careful to buy and equip the same one for both weapons. I bought form the trade-post two superior sigils of bloodlust a couple months ago. When I saw they were not stacking I thought “Dang! I burnt 7 golds for a second sigil!”

I kept them on anyway and, suddenly, they start working just after last patch (and I use my necromancer as main character in dungeons every day).

I have no complains about it, of course. Just wanted to be sure it was intended or not.
If it was a bug, I am glad it was fixed… now it is so much faster then before building stacks :P

Sigil stacks after last patch

Bau Bau.7389

This is something I noticed on Sigil of Bloodlust after the last patch.

On my necromancer I have a Sigil of Bloodlust on both staff and dagger. Before last patch, when the stacks were activated on one weapon they stopped when swapping weapon set (which was normal).

However, after the last patch, when the stacks start on one weapon they continue to go on upon swapping weapon set. I can start the stacks on staff, swap to dagger, and the stacks will continue to go up.

I like it! However, I did not find it mentioned anywhere or maybe I just missed it.
Is it a bug or is it part of the upcoming updates?

100% map completion and never got my gifts

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Bau Bau.7389

I had a similar problem when I completed exploration for the first time. This is what I suggest you to do.
Go to the exploration section in your achievement list. There you will find percentages for the exploration of all the regions of Tyria (Maguuma, Kryta, Orr, ecc…). It may happen that some of these areas are not complete even if you got all the POIs, WP, and such (as you show in your screenshot).
Some maps, in fact, have sub-areas not containing POIs, events, or WPs. They display just an area name… and that’s it. Even missing one of these sub-areas implies no gift of exploration (or, at least, this is what happened to me in the past).

In order to locate those areas, check each map on the Wiki (in the region resulting incomplete from the Exploration achievement section) and give a look to sub-areas list. The ones whose content results as " – " are the ones you have probably missed.

Hope it helps!
Good luck

Wild Scarlet's Defeat Speculations

Bau Bau.7389

I really hope they will never erect a statue either.
Most people on the forum seems to not like Scarlett, so maybe making her die to save Tyria may drive a bit of hate away from her.

Making her a martyr does not seems to fit at all in the story shown so far. Scarlett seems to be driven by angry mainly. Even is she may sacrifice herself to save Tyria, I think she will make people pay for what they (and especially the Pact) have done. Maybe that is why she has no problems in openly testing her works here and there without taking care of the consequences. They will be painful for sure but, in the long run, they will not mess up Tyria’s balance like the death of a Dragon can do.

Out of topic, thanks Leonie for the exchange of ideas

Well, it was just an idea; it does not mean it will be like that, hahaha.

Scarlett, may still consider herself “super-intellinget” as you wrote since she is the only one fixing the mess the Pact did (killing Zaithan); or at least dealing with its consequences.
Although I would not call her “loser” especially in relation to the religions you mentioned. Are not they filled with people who “sacrifice” themselves for the sake of others? My idea of self sealing was not “she seals herself because she wants;” but more “she knows she has to seal herself because there are not other ways.”

By the way, only the developers know the true so far. We can just speculate

Wild Scarlet's Defeat Speculations

in The Origins of Madness

Posted by: Bau Bau.7389

Bau Bau.7389

Scarlet saw that the dragons are a needed evil to balance magic – without them Tyria drifts into chaos. There is no chance to survive against them if you aren’t allowed to defeat them either (balance etc.).

I was thinking something similar but with an alternative outcome.

With Zaithan defeated, Scarlet saw in the Ethernal Alchemy that Tyria would have fall into choas. So she needed to understand:
1 – where magic concentrates;
2 – how to collect it;
3 – how to channel it in a new recipient (which should formally take Zaithan’s place);
4 – how to seal the new recipient.

Thanks to her mentioned studies in the three colleges in Ratasum, Scarlett located some of the places where magic is collected on Tyria (the “do not touch” pumps built thanks to the Molten Alliance).
The marionette will be used to collect magic from these places (thanks to the information she got from the Thaumanova Reactor). The mechanical tree in the Aetherblade path of TA was the prototype for the marionette. However, in the other TA paths the Nightmare Tree is a recipient for Laurent/Vevina/Fyonna. In order to use its power, people need to be absorbed by the tree itself. Scarlett will channel the magic collected by the marionette in her own body becoming a sort of new Zaithan (thanks to the experiments from the Nightmare Tower).

Scarlett purpose is not to rule Tyra but to bring it on balance again. Since she knows that channelling magic will make her lose control of her mind and body, she worked with the mentioned new asura npc on a project for sealing herself (we might have seen how she learned about the sealing process if Abaddon’s fractal would have been selected).

Our task will be to help the new asura npc to seal Scarlett forever. She knows she can not awake like the dragons are doing because that will destory Tyria’s balance again.
Of course the eventual awaking of the other dragons will create again chaos througout Tyria… but that is an issue which other people will have to deal with.

Does this sounds crazy enough?

This is what just happened to me.
First dungeon -> Sorrow’s Embrace (p3) – Instance: Sanctum of Rall (my home world) -> no issues.
Second dungeon -> Twilight Arbor (Up) – Instance: Northern Shiverpeaks -> no issues
Third Dungeon -> Honor of the Waves (p1) – Instance: Dragonbrand -> no issues
Fourth Dungeon -> Sorrow’s Embrace (p1) – Instance: Tarnished Coast -> can not join.

After several attempts, the instance owner suggested me to guest on Tarnished Coast in order to try avoiding the issue. On the World Selection screen appeared that my Guest passes were already been used on the worlds where the previous instances were open and I was not allowed to guest on another world.

It may be possible that the two issues are related? I mean, is it possible that the dungeon instance have been considered as “guesting” on another server instead a simple “join the party”? I did not move at all from Sanctum of Rall (my home world) so I did not chose to guest on the other two servers. Moreover, it seems that at the third supposed guest I got the error.
Did anybody else who got the error found that their guest passed were completely used upon getting the error/disconnect message?

Excited For World 3/4/5? Comments to World 2?

Bau Bau.7389

I think it needs to be mentioned that the developers made a wonderful job for the design of locations, enemies, and music in World Two (I think W2Z3 has the best background music).

I already loved the crocodiles from the previous release (getting tears and bandages when hit); however, the “inhaling” frogs, the jumping goats and the Polar Bears (with earmuffs!) are pure masterworks! Even the Tribulation Clouds show a variety of fun animations (getting angry, calming down, and drinking gasoline(?) before shooting lightnings) which made Tribulation mode more… digestive (I still found W2Z3 a nightmare… however, when in normal mode, that is my favorite area).

I have to admit I was not a huge fan of SAB World 1; I liked it but it was not my favorite content in game (I don’t know why the first release gave me a constant headache, not for the difficulty, which was fine… just “real” headache).
After the release of World Two, instead, I am really looking forward for the SAB to come back! Especially to see which other creatures populate the next Worlds

Thank you so much for this new release of the SAB; you really did a good job

Q: Legendary Materials & Gold

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: Bau Bau.7389

Bau Bau.7389

For Charged Lodestones and Charges Cores I suggest you to run CoE. It is not a guaranteed drop but you may have way more chances to get some there. You may usually get at least a couple of cores running all three paths (thought sometimes it may happen you get nothing). At the same time, you will get the chance to find few t6 materials (vicious claws mainly in p2 and p3 killing the risens on the stairs towards second Alpha). Selling the drops you got from the run you may obtain an average 1 gold for each run. It requires for sure more time than CoF but at least you will have the chance to get Charged Cores/Lodestones while giving you the change to do something different.

About the other t6 materials, you may want to craft your cloves first. During this process you will get some t6 materials; you will not end up with full stacks but, at least, you may have less “farming” in Orr in order to get them :P

In a dungeon and involving candles?
May it be the bonus event in the Ascalonian Catacomb?
I did it one time only after release so I do not remember it in detail. By the way, while running down the stairs from the Priory camp to the first burrow, if you take the path at the left of the stairs (at the same level of the burrow), there are some torches you may light; when done a bonus even will activate.
I think this bonus event has been left after the revamp but I am not quite sure about it.

Other ideas for fractals

That Abaddon guy and why his fall matters

in Cutthroat Politics

Posted by: Bau Bau.7389

Bau Bau.7389

The Fall of Abaddon predates the existence of the reactor by over a thousand years. It predates the Asura going to the surface of Tyria by over a thousand years. There’s no way the reactor influenced the Fall. As for a dragon champion ending up in Tyria because of the reactor… Dragons (and their champions) have also been on Tyria for thousands of years before the reactor was even built.

That is true, although if the events in Thaumanova have been so destructive as described (turning the fabric of the world inside out… or something like that) they might have had an effect not only in space but in time too. In this way it would be easy to cover the gap, even if I have to admit it seems a bit too much science fiction :P.

Moreover, having Asuras involved was just my speculation. It seems typically “Asuran” making an astonishing experiment; creating a mess because of it; leaving other people cleaning out (in that case, the Humans).

Moreover, for the moment I still think that the fall of Abaddon might suggest the involvement of at least another race. If it would have been related to Human lore only why it was promoted by Evon (a Charr) and not by Keil (a Human)? Thinking that Evon may do that only to demote Humans showing that also their Gods might have been corrupted sounds a bit too harsh to me.

By the way, only the developers know the true at this moment while we may only guess. Let’s see what they will prepare for us (I still think my vote will go to Evon. His manifesto with Kiel’s pictures in SouthSun Cove is the best! :P )

That Abaddon guy and why his fall matters

Bau Bau.7389

I found really interesting all the hypothesis coming up in this and other threads about the two announced fractals. There are several interesting comments linking GW2 to GW1 and trying to fill some gaps (probably intentional) in the lore.
Here, however, I will try to approach these topic from a different point of view .
(Do not be mad about it! :P I am just trying to bring to the table some different hypothesis).

First of all, as “Fractals” both the episodes (Thaumanova and Abaddon) will probably offer only a glimpse these events. As “Fractals” they need to be relatively short so I do not think any of the two will offer extensive explanations about what happened (I do not expect a “Story Mode dungeon” telling the whole story of Abaddon’s Fall or the disaster in Thaumanova Reactor).

However, about the two stories that will be told… what if both of them relates to the same episode told from different points of view?
The Fall of Abaddon may be the story according to what Humans experienced (and what we saw in GW1, which was centered on Humans mainly); while the Thaumanova Reactor may show what happened “behind the scenes” (part of the lore that was not told during GW1).
It might make sense; in this way, the game will continue to move in the direction the developers want (in terms of Living story and possible future expansions [maybe Elona?]) while giving us players the chance to chose which part of the lore uncover first.

Maybe Asuras did something related to the Fall of Abaddon. The Vortex in Nightfall’s Mouth of Abaddon recalls the Asuran singularity in Portmatt’s Lab (in Bloodtide Coast). Likewise, the “reality twisted inside out” mentioned for Thaumanova may be related to the Real of Torment; its map was a kind of nightmarish/distorted version of a portion of Elona (like the Nightfallen Garden was a distorted version of Seborhin’s Garden).

In this hypothesis, the choice made by the Evon and Kiel may be read in a different way:

Evon -> as a Charr he may remember Humans about the fall of one of their Gods, Abaddon. Behind a bit of Charr pride, Evon maybe want to show that also a God can be corrupted and fall (which may imply, “Humans, move on from your past”).

Kiel -> she may show what was behind the Fall of Abaddon unveiling the events in Thaumanova. Maybe her purpose is to unveil a hidden past (Asuras messing up behind the scenes) showing the existence of a power much more strong that people may think of.

About the eventual connection between the two episodes:
- May the events in Thaumanova have opened (intentionally or not) the path to the Realm of the Gods?
- Is there a connection with Asuras and the old Human Gods? I mean, how was possible that a God (Abaddon) would have been “killed” by mortals?
- Was Abaddon really a God or just someone or something much more powerful than Humans? Maybe a type of Dragon Champion who found a path to Tyria thanks to the disaster in Thaumanova?

Moreover, what will these two choices (Abaddon and Thaumanova) impact the present world? It was mentioned that the present dungeons may be “freshen up”(maybe with the exception of AC which has been already restyled). IT was also said that his process will probably happen according to the Living Story. So, here there is another hypothesis:

- Evon offers the Fall of Abaddon’s Fractal, which means he is focusing his interest in the Human Gods. May this suggest a possible restyling of Arah some time after Evon’s election?

- Kiel offers the Thaumanova Reactor’s Fractal, which means Asuras. May this be connected to a possible restyle of CoE? (Maybe the Inifinity Coil in CoE is the Inquest version of Thaumanova)

Bau Bau.7389

It is good you are using a Guardian to learn CoE paths; a heavy armor class may be more forgiving if missing a dodge than a light one (I learned it with an elementalist… my first couple runs were a disaster XD; now I mostly play it with a guardian too :P ).
Those are some suggestions you may want to check out.

NOTE: I do not consider myself an expert; the following suggestions are just the result of my experience in CoE; feel free to change and modify everything written here according to your play-style. You may just use these notes as a starting point.

First Alpha encounter:
To fight alpha I suggest you to load the trait “Strenght in Number” (Valor #4) to help both you and your all team increasing the overall amount of toughness.
Be the first one to approach Subject Alpha:
1. Use “Retreat” to run out of the door (facultative);
2. While running in the room, target Subject Alpha;
3. When in range use “Judge’s Intervention” (it will teleport you to the selected foe);
4. Use GS #5 to grab Alpha;
5. Run at the right corner of the gate and press GS #5 again (pull Alpha at you).

If this fails, fight Alpha following him around and always standing on him.

Fighting Alpha on Path 1:
You may use GS all the time; Alpha will not use the concentric AoE so it is just a matter to move at his side/back to avoid his conic attack. If everybody do not move around too much Alpha do not usually use the fire tooth.

Fighting Alpha on Paths 2 and 3:
Use GS to put him in corner and then shift to Hammer (it will speed up building endurance to both you and the whole team giving you more chances to dodge). After the AoE appears (accompanied by his sound effect), count 1-2-3 (not too fast) and dodge (possibly against the corner/wall to avoid Alpha moving around). There is no need to dodge all Alpha’s AoE attacks. Look what appears in the center of the AoE (when the center is visible… stacking can make it difficult sometimes):
- ice -> stay;
- ice & mist -> dodge.
About the skills, you may load “Purging Flames” to clean you and the party up from eventual burning; “Stand your Ground” to raise you up in case you are knocked down.

The encounters with Alpha follow the same pattern during each path. However, according to the area, the stacking positions change:

Path 1:
Second encounter -> stack at the crates in front of Alpha;
Third encounter -> stack at crates in fron of door.

Path 2:
Second encounter -> stack at the corner between the steps and the first column at the left of the door;
Third encounter -> stack at the corner at the left of the teleportation lab (standing in the Green lab)

Path 3:
Second encounter -> like for path 2;
Third encounter -> go at the platform before the one with the gate and stack at corner left of the stairs (which is the first corner of the polygonal railing).

In each path, during second and third encounters Alpha will randomly trap a team member inside a crystal; break the crystal as fast as you can otherwise the entrapped one can be downed/killed by the next AoE attack (it is very rare but it may happen that a player may be stocked even if the crystal has been broken; I guess it is a bug). Stacking makes breaking crystal easier than moving around. Reviving people, instead, need to be done carefully (again, stacking give the chance to revive faster since more than one person can do that at the same time speeding up the process).

I hope those suggestions may help you. If you want I can go more in detail for the additional foes you will face in each path; just let me know

Yes, everybody entering in your home instance can mine your node (a friend of mine who did not get his personal node yet mined mine two times already). In the same way, if you enter in the home instance of other players you can mine their quartz node too.

Does it always appear where you put it or does it move around?

The Mini is WRONG what we GOT

in Bazaar of the Four Winds

Bau Bau.7389

this item would have been much nicer as something in the home instance.

I was thinking the same. Like for the quartz node, the Sanctum model might have been an item that will permanently appear in your home instance when unlocked. Same thing for the Dragon Bash book; when achieved, it may be add to your home instance in the shape of a decoration (like a dragon pianata) or something else like a bookshelf (to keep the idea of the book).
Maybe I am going too far with this, but the same thing might have happen with items from the the previous live story events. The Karma drawing we got from F&F (which I have still to use because I like it :P) might have appeared on the walls of the home instance; while completing the South Sun story arc might have unlock a desk with navigation maps or something similar.
It would have been a nice way to start filling up the home instance remembering what you did in game (similar to the HoM in GW1).

I would suggest you to check at the wiki pages of Maguuma’s maps. It is not required to “look” at the map or compared it to your own in order to figured out what you missed. In the wiki’s description page of each map you will find a table with a list of its sub-areas and what content they host. Search for sub-areas having only jps or mini dungeons (in case you missed some of them) but, more importantly, look for sub-areas having no content at all (they will display “-” in content. list). Look at their location in map and travel there to “uncover” them.
Hope it helps

Best explorable dungeon for three?

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: Bau Bau.7389

Bau Bau.7389

Hello Kenetic,
I would suggest you to start with Honor of the Waves (mainly paths 1 and 2). The overall dungeon is not too difficult. The bosses have high hp so some people may find them annoying; however, since it takes time to kill them they provide you the chance to try out different approaches.
Another starting dungeon may be Sorrow’s Embrance. Paths 1 and 3 are pretty easy (also path 2; it is just takes time to complete it).
I would not suggest you to go in the Ascalonian Catacomb for your first explorable dungeon experience. AC is not difficult but requires some coordination (especially path 1). Moreover, at the very beginning of each AC path you will encounter the Spider Queen. It is not a difficult boss but it requires some attention, which implies possible wipes before starting the real exploration of the dungeon (unless you want to stack in pillar… which is fine but I would suggest you to defeat the Queen without stacking first, so that you will know how to do both). Wiping at the very beginning of a dungeon may be not encouraging for some people, especially when they approach an exp dungeon for the very first time. Choosing AC not as first choice will give you the chance to chill out somewhere else in case you want to take a break.

By the way, fell free to contact me in game in case you play on a NA server and want an extra person in your team (I am on SoR). I am not an expert (did some dungeons one time only -> CM and CoF are not exactly friends of mine :P) but I like to run dungeons using different classes and tactics in order to make a change (doing the same thing in the same way all the time is not for me). Moreover, I do not mind eventual wipes especially if they are due to try out something new. I really like CoE (at the very top of my list), TA (even if I did the “new” p3 one time only), AC, and HotW. I like Arah too but if I prefer to kill some of the mobs (not all of them) to run easier; but that makes the run longer and I understand not everybody wants to do that.

Good luck

It is not a glitch. Some maps have areas not containing POIs or waypoints. Because of this, you will find “uncharted” areas also in map displaying 100% completion. I had the same issue when achieving the “Been there, done that” title. I suggest you to use the wiki checking the list of geographic places in all the maps related to both Maguuma and Shiverpeak; the areas without POIs and WP will be the ones you are missing. Orichalcum: The Miracle Metal

in Lore

Posted by: Bau Bau.7389

Bau Bau.7389

in its mythological origin, Orichalcum is described as a copper/gold combined metal

I think Orichalcum was described at first by Plato when talking about Atlantis. According to Plato, Orichalcum was a metal “shining like fire.”
Well… not that I red Plato; I remember about it for playing the LucasArts video game Indiana Jones and the Faith of Atlantis. In the game it was mentioned Plato’s dialogue Hermocrates as source for Atlantis and Orichalcum (though I am not sure it really exists… although Plato really wrote about Atlantis). Moreover, in the game you got the chance to craft an orichalcum pearl using a ancient Atlantic machinery processing lava.

hawk glitch ?

I noticed it too; however, it not happened to me but to my roommate. He has a ranger and on his screen (Mac client) his hawk pet was affected by the same graphic glitch you described. Strangely on my screen (PC client on Bootcamp) it did not happened. We noticed this one week ago while in party together and in the same area. Moreover, our computer screens were side by side and the glitch was appearing on one screen only. Because of this I thought it might have been an issue on the Mac client only.

Did you experienced it on a Pc or Mac client?

Based on the icon Omnomberry have in gave I thought they may be close to Mangosteen. A friend of mine from Hong Kong show me a picture of them and I my comment was: “That is an Omnomberry!”
She said Mangosteen are very juicy, but I have never seen and/or eat them in real life. Below there is a Mangosteen pic; do you think it looks like an Omnomberry?

Dialogues common to all paths (Dialoghi comuni a tutti i percorsi):
Cinematic upon entrance:
Team Leader: “Non esattamente. Qualcosa ha mandato in tilt il sistema di sicurezza. I tuoi superiori ci hanno inviato per proteggerti.”
Agente Spire: “Fantastico. Se riuscirete a starmi dietro, siete piu’ che benvenuti; ricordate pero’ che niente sara’ in grado di impedire che questo posto venga sigillato.”
Agente Spire: “Bastera’ qualche minuto di lavoro, e potremo farci quattro risate su tutto questo in un bar all’Arco del Leone.”

After the Cinematic (dopo il filmato):
Agente Spire: “Bene, andiamo. Cerchiamo di sigillare questo posto il prima possibile.”
Altoparlante: “Attenzione!”
Altoparlante: “Soggetto Alpha, fuggito!”
Agente Spire: “Non fermatevi.

Kudu: “Espandere l’intelletto richede sacrificio. E adesso pagherete per le informazioni che avete appreso.”

When Kudu’s health reaches 50% (quando l’energia di Kudu scende sotto il 50%):
Kudu: “Il mio corpo potra’ anche morire, ma la mia creazione vi distruggera’ tutti!”

When Kudu is defeated (quando Kudu viene sconfitto):

Zojja: “No.

So, let’s try to provide a translation also for this other dungeon. Beside the Ascalonian Catacombs (which is run by everybody at least one time since it is the first dungeon available to players), I thought to provide translations for the dungeons people may run for cores and/or lodestones. Eventually, after CoE, I will work on a translation for Arah and later on the other dungeons in game.

Morrigu: “Riposa in pace, mio caro Leurent. Sei stato spinto fino a qui’ da un desiderio di guerra. Che tu possa finalmente trovare la stessa pace che io trovai tra le tue braccia.”
Morrigu: “Tornero’ presto a vegliare sui resti del mio amore ormai perduto. Ma adesso devo raggiungere Fyonna… ed i suoi amati ragni… rabbrividisco alla sola idea di quelle zampe sul mio corpo.”

Upon reaching the Nightmare Tree (raggiunto l’Albero del Tormento):
Fyonna: “Oh, miei piccoli, e’ arrivato il momento.”
Fyonna: “Non preoccupatevi di me, vostra madre. Saro’ sempre la stessa; solo piu’ potente.”
Morrigu: “Fyonna, Contessa delle Aracnidi, allontanati da quell’albero. Non ti permettero’ di impossessarti del dono di Faolain.”
Fyonna: “Non senti le parole dei miei piccoli? Ascoltali.”
Fyonna: “Cantano spendide ed oscure note di potenza e devozione. In quanto loro madre e’ mio compito realizzare i loro desideri.”

Upon defeating the Nightmare Tree (dopo aver sconfitto l’Albero del Tormento):

Translation for Twilight Arbor Explorable Mode – Path Forward/Forward
I Giardini Crepuscolari – Sentiero Avanti/Avanti

After choosing forward at the Nightmare Vines and defeating the ambushers (dopo aver scelto avanti ai Rampicanti Infernali ed aver concluso l’agguato degli arcieri)
Morrigu: “Mi dispiace. Ho cercato di raggiungerti il prima possibile.”
Morrigu: “Cantero’ del tuo valore all’Albero Pallido.”
Morrgu: “Ci sono due sentieri. Quale vuoi che apra?”

Forward/Forward (Avanti/Avanti)
Upon reaching the Arborarium (raggiunto l’Arboreto) – audio only:
Morrigu: “Le guardie scelte di Leurent! Fa’ attenzione; ci attaccheranno senza pieta’.”

Upon reaching Leurent (raggiunto Leurent):
Uccidetela!”

After defeating Leurent (dopo aver sconfitto Leurent) – adio only:
Morrigu: “Leurent… un tempo l’ho amato piu’ di chiunque altro in questo mondo.”

Upon locating the Nightmare Tree (dopo aver raggiunto l’Albero del Tormento):
Vevina: “Faolain! Sono venuta per il tuo dono. Ho sconfitto i deboli ed aizzato gli alleati uno contro l’altro.”
Vevina: “Le ho provato il mio valore e adesso, grazie al suo dono, marcero’ nella Radura. Persino l’Albero Pallido si pieghera’ al mio volere!"
Morrigu: “Vevina! Allontanati da quell’insulso albero. Non ti permetteremo di rendere nessuno schiavo della tua vanita’.”
Vevina: “Meravoglioso! Del pubblico. Voi sarete i primi ad assistere all mia gloriosa trasformazione.”
Vevina: “Ed allo stesso tempo i primi a piegharvi al mio volere servendomi sensa esitare.”

Upon defeating the Nightmare Tree (dopo aver sconfitto l’Albero del Tormento):

Italian language

I can ask a simple question. Why Italian? What makes Italian special? Italian isn’t exactly a widely spoken language, nor does it have its own alphabet. And let’s just put it out there: arguing about what is being taught as a compulsory foreign language isn’t a valid justification.

You are right. However, point is that in Italy people usually talk in Italian only… unless you go towards the northern boundaries of the country (everywhere else there is just the sea). Moreover, everything that arrives in Italy (books, TV shows, movies) is automatically translated and dubbed in Italian. People are just not used to deal with other languages. Even if English and French are taught in schools, there is almost no chance to use them in daily life; which means, very few people are fluent in foreign languages.
However, this does not mean people are lazy but only that culturally there is no reason to speak in a language that is not Italian.

Do not take what I wrote above as a critique. My first language is Italian and I lived in Italy for a lot of time. What I wrote is what I saw and experienced while living there. I am not saying it is a good or a bad thing… it is just like that.

By the way, GW1 was translated in Italian and the books about GW2 too. Probably in future it will be available an Italian translation for the game. I just do not think it is at the top of the list.

Meanwhile, to help Italian players (in case some of them may need help) I posted in another thread of this forum an Italian translation for the Ascalonian Catacombs (Story and Exp mode)

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/players/Ascalonian-Catacombs-Italian-translation/first#post1641131

and for Twilight Arbor (Story and, at the moment, path “UP” only).

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/players/Twilight-Arbor-Italian-translation/first#post1649048

I hope these translations may help Italian players to get a better sense of what is going on in these areas [I post them here since the official wiki has not an Italian page].

Translation for Twilight Arbor Explorable mode – Path Up
I Giardini Crepuscolai – Sentiero “In Alto”

Upon reaching Malrona (Raggiunta Malrona):

Upon reaching Fyonna (Raggiunta Fyonna):
Vevina: “Traditrice! Squartero’ i tuoi ragni per avermi tradito!”
Fyonna: “Oh!

After defeating Fyonna (Dopo aver sconfitto Fyonna):
Team Leader: “Adesso manca solo Leurent. Dovrebbe essere un gioco da ragazzi paragonato a queste due.”
Morrigu: “Non proprio. Ti consiglio di non sottovalutarlo.”
Team Leader: “Sai qualcosa su di lui?”
Morrigu: “In passato siamo stati amanti. Pensavo saremmo rimasti insieme per sempre. Ma la sete di potere lo ha interamente corrotto.”
Morrigu: “Preparati ad ucciderlo… e non preoccupatri di me. Saro’ in grado di affrontarlo. Ormai lui e’ parte del passato.”

Upon locaing the Nightmare Tree (Dopo aver raggiunto l’Albero del Tormento):
Soffri, dilaniati, e brucia!"

Upon defeating the Nightmare Tree (Dopo aver sconfitto l’Albero del Tormento):

Sopravvissuto: “Per quale motivo? Pensi che i miei incubi possano ferire l’Albero Pallido?”
Guardiano Sylvari: “Niente affatto. Ormai quelle esperienze fanno parte del Sogno. Piuttosto, penso tu sia ancora sotto shock.”
Guardiano Sylvari: “Sara’ meglio riposare e recuperare le forze prima di affrontare nuovamente il mondo la’ fuori.”
Sopravvissuta: “Hai notizie di Salonna? Era dietro di me, ma siamo state separate.”

Upon nengaging Nightmare Vines (Dopo aver risvegliato i Rampicanti Infernali):

When Greater Nightmare Vine spawns (Al comparire del Rampicante Maggiore):
Morrigu: “Attento!”

Upon defeating Nightmare Vines (Dopo aver sconfitto tutti Rampicanti):
Morrigu: “E’ orribile. Lo hanno massacrato.”
Morrigu: “Il tuo sacrificio non sara’ stato vano… te lo prometto.”
Morrigu: “Ci sono due sentieri. Quale vuoi che apra?”

What is the best 2 man class combo?

I had very fun time playing with a friend with these two teams so far:
Guardian (me) – Mesmer (my friend)
Mesmer (me) – Ranger (my friend)
For a bit we tried to play both with engineers but it did not work so well. However, that was not related to the Engi class, but to the fact we were using the same profession. I suggest you to combine two professions with different armors (not light-light and so on). In this way you may combine the benefits of two different game mechanics.

Translation for the last dialogue while fighting Faolain (no cimenatic – audio only)

Ah ah ah!”
