Here are my results, looks insane. Can’t really interpret it, though. my internet isn’t too bad, but why do i have such a horrible connection to the servers if not a issue at their end?

It’s unfortunate, to see you guys are having this problem too. But, maybe that means anet will look into the problem. When you get it, can you please let us know about your results from the ticket you sent?

And yeah, i tried doing a trace-route— dunno how to interpret the results…

Just so you know, when you run those speed tests, they ping the closest best server. It’s not meant to prove your ping is fine, it’s meant to show what your speed is. They don’t want you to have ping when testing your speed, because it will slow it down and not show the “true value”.

TLDR: Speed tests are useless to show what the ping is to a gaming server.

Here’s my connection to Frankfurt— where the game servers are based, i think. The speed test was mostly to demonstrate that my internet isn’t too bad. But, why is my connection to GW2 so unstable recently?

Hi. Over like the last month, i’ve had some insane ping issues. Over the years, i’ve played pretty stable at under a hundred ping— but, recently that all changed.

You see, i recently reinstalled the game. Soon after that, my ping suffered. Now, i’ve got something really strange going on. I generally play at a couple hundred ping. But, occasionally it spikes— for no reason.

In the middle of a PvP match, suddenly i’ve got well over a thousand ping. This instability has left the game almost unplayable.

If i restart the game— or wait a while, it goes down again— before it spikes up again, half an hour later.

I don’t think its my own internet-speed that’s the problem— as i said, i used to play under a hundred ping. On “ookla”, i get a download speed of 25 Mbps. And i’m not having internet issues elsewhere. I can easily see 4k videos on youtube etc.

So, the question is: what is wrong with my game, and how can i fix it? I’ve tried the repair client, didn’t work either.

In case it’s relevant, i’m using a Ryzen 1700 Processor, 16GB ram and a rx480 GPU, with windows 10. I’m playing at the “Far Shiverpeaks” server, and i’m based in Norway.

You should try the hammer more. It has nice damage, and is much better compared to staff.

I managed to fix the entire thing by using -repair command. However, f9 toggle doesn’t work anymore. Can it be due to by missing default file? Where do i get a new one?

Did you make sure you changed the file extension? Most presets come in .txt format and need to be changed to .cfg files. Make sure you’re renaming it properly too.

I personally couldn’t get into GemFX. I prefer Reshade myself.

i did rename it properly, i deleted the preset i downloaded after it didn’t work. Gemfx remained broken. Atleast i found a temporary solution by disablign it in the configurator. But i still have those useless files in my folders and i can’t use gemfx.

Hello folks; I’m Elias. I have a problem. I’ve been using gemfx for about a year now, smoothly. Today i decided to try this preset thingie. i went by this tutorial

I installed the same preset. However, i accidentally moved my default out, instead of the current. But, i moved it back in. Then i properly placed the preset in the current one. However; now when i try to log into the game. The moment i press play after signing in, the game just crashes, no error messages or anything.

How can i fix this?

for all you charrlore experts out there. I’m planning my Charr Revenant. And i have a couple of questions, that i’d love to have answered.

- what’s the name of the Charr player character’s warband, is it “Steel”?

- When does your character get promoted to Centurion?

-Do you retain your rank and position in the Charr hierachy when you join the orders?

-what’s the best sparring partner?

-What’s the best charr’s father?

i’l be happy with any response to any of these questions.

humans would crush the Norn, imagine Norn trying to siege DR. Knut whitebear would just stand at the gate with a longsword autoattacking the DR gate without sucesss. The humans have way more people with magical skill. 10000x meteorshowers says hello. Hoelbrak as very poor defenses, no proper city walls even.

Imagine a legion of 50000 seraph/Ministry guard/shining blade backed by 10000 elementalists, 5000 mesmers and 500 necros.

The Queue works now, it’s just very slow! (Like 30 min)

You can sometimes get into the queue, but it’s almost never and there’s an average 33 min queue time.

Can we EU guys get increased beta time, due to that it’s down? Most people in EU’s servers can’t play stronghold. I manage to get in one match, and i’m so excited!

Since i have the day off, i planned to play gw2 all day. Therefore i logged into the game to play my favorite game. Then i was struck with this prank, it was fun for 2 minutes. But then i hated it, because it deosn’t go away- and it’s annoying as kitten. Please give us an option to not wear aviators cap with arms into the sky. Please let us turn off the brown effect without turning off autoprocessing. Please let us have dialogue without a flying sound. Please don’t ruin my game experience….

Can we please get a comment?

I have 5700 ingame hours, so i think it’s kinda strange if they base it on active users.

Hi guys, recently there was a newsletter signup- to get emails about HoT and a potential chance to get into the beta. As many have gotten into the beta, i checked my mail. I hadn’t. I thought “Ok, i guess that was to be expected”.

But i haven’t got any newsletters either? Which we were told we were going to get anyway. Can i have signed up with the wrong email, or have they just not sent any newsletters yet?

Hi guys, as the title says: “What is your revenant story?” What race is your revenant’s gonna be? Male or female? Which order? Which background story?

I’m personally going to be a male charr bloodlegion revenant with dual jornag’s breath. He’s going to join the vigil or OoW.

Guys, if the download’s stuck you got to turn off gemfx or sweetfx. you don’t have to delete- though you gotta disable it.

The combat obviously, no game has more freedom in combat. You can move when attacking and dodge. I don’t want a subfee, and all other games with similar combat has subfees or pay to win.

the master of whispers can most certainly be encountered. It’s Riel Blackwater. you see that in the OoW storyline.

yeah, thief is the fastest class both in attacks, escapes and mobility.

The best way is just to do all hearts and events you come over, while doing PS when you can.

Yeash, you can do dungeons or PvP. Considering the fact that you have 78’ish equipment, perhaps you could start on crafting a set of ascended equipment? Here’s a wiki page about ascended equipment whereas there’s links for each type of armor.

Elementalist is probiliary the best class. It’s argueably the best PvE class, it makes for a fantastic bruiser/tank in small scale PvP (Roaming/sPvP) and a great nuker!

But mesmer comes slightly better off in dueling, and necromancer’s got the best conditions and CC.

You should play diffrent proffesions, thus you can compensate for the other class’s faults. What you want to play fits more with certain classes. The thumb rule is if you’re using light armor, she should use medium or heavy.

A guardian and a warrior is a bad match, and same is a engineer and a ranger. The best combo is probiliary something like Guardian and Thief. But really, you should just play what you want.

Dual shields actually work, when i dual wield shields in roleplay fighting irl against my friends. I usually win over their greatsword; Shield bash irl <3

Thing is, an average girls like things that are beautiful- and typical boys like things that are kitten and cool. Rainbows and uicorns are NOT kitten.

Rainbows and unicorns are girlish, that’s a fact. You can’t deny it. Most boys and males are not feminine. Just because some boys think the bow’s pretty, doesn’t suddenly make it manly.

You should honor the majority, instead of trying to be progressive and stuff. 95% of the community are normal males.

What if we got PvE that’s not bad? ^^

ingame charachters have been saying mordemoth.

It used to be D/D, one could do like 1v7’s, be unkillable and such. Although now P/D has that throne. It’s about 90% as good as old D/D thief. due to the fact that ferocity ruined short inverval spike builds. I’m speaking with 5450 hours of experience in the game.

Now THAT would be something I’d pay to see. XD The new Elder Dragon is raised by Quaggans and thus is friendly, peaceful and constantly speaks in "OoooooOoOOooo"s.

Somehow, I have a feeling that a large segment of players would consider this too high a price to pay for peace.

Again, it’s not a elder dragon- it’s more like “The shatterer” it’s a dragon champion.

5200 hours., was 2 months late in the game. Never had a precursor, i don’t even have a single ascended non-trinket piece. I’ve never had more than 55 g. 10 000 achivment points.

Hi guys, i’m a recent lvl 80 warrior- my aim is to be a selfish WvW (both blob and roam) tank. What is the best build for this? Stance + banner or shouts?

i’m full nomad btw.

as others have suggested- g600 is your best go.

As for the upper-class twist, that’s something that’s always hung around the mesmer. It makes sense- mesmerism is about seeming and appearances, which could easily be carried over into a taste for fine (or made to appear fine?) clothes, and it is, compared to most of the other magical professions, a relatively refined and complex field, which would have made it more easily available to the historically better educated nobility. It’s also particularly useful for the nobility as we see in GW2, with their political games of plots and lies and bluffs and deceptions- all of which a mesmer is better suited to handling than the more brute professions.

To go back to the initial question, I don’t believe mesmers hold any particular social class or prestige, but that the profession is inherently more useful, and perhaps even a tradition to, the nobility.

jennah was definivility fighting at the opening sermony- she’s got GS 1 (That surge thingie) I had a picture on my old computer, althogh not here.

It’s a critical backstab with 2000 power.

if i had 110% critical damage before ferocity patch and went down to 78% crit damage- how much power would i need to come close to offsetting that loss? Assume it’s a crit and i have 2000 power now.

get the rest of ascended for my main and gear up all my alts in ascended as well
