I have recently leveled my necro to 80 and get into some 2v1 battles. The problem I am having at the moment is trying to stomp people without taking too much damage.
Is there an ability or special thing I can do in order to make this happen?
Removing AoE limit is a bad idea. Players would simply spread out as much as possible, it would become impossible to walk through a choke point without invulnerability and zerks would become more brainless since you wouldn’t be able to regroup or move as a unit.
You mean players would actually have to think about tactics instead of just straight rushing in :O that sounds like a terrible idea.
Ah we didn’t relize that was ya’ll because we didn’t see any [OG], but yeah we had some really good fights. I don’t know if it was you who we fought by south east tower that ran the tank group, or the fight by the coyotes with high dps. My gut says you were the group with around 2 mesmer+3 thieves+3 dd eles. Either way i’ll tell you some class diversity will go a long way in making your group much more sustainable in longer fights.

[OG] has disbanded you won’t see anyone wearing that tag.
We were only roaming with 3 people (2 Thieves, 1 D/D ele) under the [iLL] tag, we did however have some people from [EVOH] running with us. We actually had quite a few fights with you from what I can remember, around 4-5.
[GF] is hands down the best guild for their size I’ve seen in any of the tiers I’ve been in. There are many skilled guilds, small and large, but [GF] has the most talent on an individual level as well as team co-ordination. When people would call out in map chat “a group of 7-10 Ebay taking SW camp” I would immediately ask which guild it was, if the reply was “[GF]” I would make sure that I had a sufficiently large enough force to wipe them. I know if it was even numbers they would wipe us. I’m a commander in YB and I respect their talent.
Like I said… there are many great guilds of all sizes, but for me [GF] is the best smaller guild I’ve played against. I think BP and AR should learn to counter them rather than complain about them. YB learnt how to deal with them… bring twice their numbers lol.
People need to realize that “Best” in WvW can mean multiple things. Does it mean best at killing people or best at sieging/capturing nodes? Or maybe even best overall.
Best as in killing people. They have good sieging tactics for defending the north supply camp lol… but yea never seen them siege a keep or tower without [GH] or [FTF] there. But definitely in open field combat they are the best.
@bunzy … you still on Maguuma? I heard [OG] disbanded, what guild are you running with now?
Still on Maguuma however only 4 people from our original “core” is left.

The prices at the moment definitely don’t make sense. It costs me as much to transfer to someone in Tier 5 as it does to transfer to someone in Tier 1.
I want to apologize for my actions in the EBG JP tonight. It was my first time camping and I was very rude and enjoying an unfair fight a little too much. It wasn’t sportsman-like or honorable to chain pull people to their deaths, kill them using 3+ people, and /laugh at that necro from HATE so many times.
But it felt so good.

Hey TG seems like there into there PvP, do you guys do duels at all… Not fan of big zerg fighting or big guild vs guild fight’s doesn’t seem like you get to show ya skills to well..
I’m terrible 1v1 but we do have some people that enjoy dueling, We can try and set something up during the week. , maybe the same day as the GvG that we want to do.
This guy is not terrible at 1v1! He is tricking everyone.
If you are versing two elementalists and one has a staff its generally best to ALWAYS go for the staff user first. That fight would of been over much quicker if you didn’t waste so much time on the dd ele.
The thing about confusion is it puts you in a state where you are unable to do anything if you don’t have a cleanse up. So a mesmer can stack confusion on you while a thief beats down on you and you can’t do anything.

Our second problem is people are under the illusion that maguuma is more skilled then other servers.
My experience with this server is while their is some skilled players most people are below average. The average Maguuman is afraid to fight the enemy and will often run away or not even engage them, especially when fighting skilled enemies.
There really isn’t any guild besides [OG] that I would feel safe placing my confidence in for being able to fend for themselves. The individual skill of the other guilds on Maguuma is extremely lacking.
Can you transfer already so that [D|ERP] can mop you up in a 5v5?
I’d like to believe those posts are a masterful troll and all the spelling/grammar mistakes are part of it, but after talking to him in game and seeing him dying repeatedly, I just can’t.

No. What happens is the trolls get under some folks skin and it winds up making their entire server a target. Given a choice of targeting a friendly server or targeting one that has people saying nasty things, it follows the latter would be more appealing. It’s human nature.
What happens on the forums does indeed translate in game.
I know a few of our folks were quite motivated after reading some of the posts in this thread, but perhaps that’s the point of the trolling — to get the fights going after them. There’s one fellow on (not to be named T1 server) that does this deliberately because he wants an entire server coming after his guild. He thinks it makes the fights better. That’s his prerogative, as it is anyone’s choice. But it winds up making the whole server deal with the fallout.
You’re missing the context here that Bunzy was one of the trash talking trolls against other servers for a long time until we made fun of him enough that he started hating our server and started trash talking us instead. I for one do not care about any 2v1 in terms of servers, and even if it was just TC focusing on us the player ratio basically is 2v1 anyway.

Mag will be back in T3 soon. Couple of my friends already transferred off the server because they hate T3 so much, and considering the Mag fairweathers make it so I can’t even enjoy T4 on the rare times we are here, I’m starting to think they did the right thing. Either that or it’s time to get back into spvp. Don’t like the game mode, but at least I can find good fights in tpvp.

The lack of understanding from so many so called pros in this thread is amazing. Let me break it down to you.
There are two severe lacks of “normal” mmo abilities in this game healing and CC. As a small group you have zero way to outplay other groups, because of the dumbed down gameplay this game promotes. It leaves you pretty much three options, extending, outpositioning, or poking. The outpositioning is nullified to a great point by the aoe cap, so you are left with extending and poking gameplay. This is the reason mobility burst classes that can either unload while essentially invulnerable, or classes that can run and reset rule the small group scene.
Why am I explaining this…..because you people who zergball around obviously don’t understand how 1 single confusion mesmer can absolutely destroy you. In a game with literally zero crowd control, confusion is a pseudo CC. It essentially makes you stop all movement, unable to use a heal, and penalizes you for doing anything. That’s understandable, a neat backhanded idea for CC. The problem lies in the insane scaling. It should not penalize you with 4k+ ticks for using 1 ability. Anything who thinks that is fair needs to have their head checked.
Yes you can clear it, yes you can not move. But in a game where mobility rules, one tiny mistep by any member of your group spells death, you cannot afford the even 2 seconds waiting on a cleanse or clear from timer, you are dead. It would be understandable if there were other abilities that punished as hard, but as it stands…..NOTHING even comes close to the realm of how hard of a shutdown confusion is with the current levels of dmg it is capable of outputting. It is a CC, immobilize, dodge block, heal block, skill lock…………that should properly penalize you and have you eat some damage………just not the absurd numbers you see now when you get people food buffed, carrion stacked pushing 1500+ condition damage.
You claim to know more than the self proclaimed pros, but you just called Confusion an Immobilise.
There’s only about a 1-2 second window where confusion is ever stacked high enough to actually make you unable to heal. So that point is moot.
If your zergs are dying to ONE confusion mesmer,
Your zergs suck, and every single participant of them needs to l2p.
It is baffling how many bads there are in this game who refuse to adapt.
Reading comprehension. The confusion does not kill you, anyone can stop attacking. The problem is the confusion locks you down in a state you cannot do anything except eat damage from other sources…….because the penalty to use an ability while under it’s effect is way too kitten high. In turn, it has become a glaringly overpowered CC in a game w/o CC. 2-3 seconds is death when you are extending or invuln dumping a larger force or Group -v- Group fighting people who know how to assist.
And before anyone says it, EVERYONE, I mean everyone who runs in a small group does not go into a fight with stability down. So knockdown does not count, it has a preemptive counter.
