Player point of view: Not again this useless crap spamming my inventory>.<
Anets point of view: Let’s add another 15 types of bags, increase green sigill rates and give them tons of mats they will never be able to useDDD
Did Anet introduce a ascended-mats-sink into the game with hot? I’m stuck with 4 chars hoarded with this junk and I’m very sad I’m unable to play with them. It doesn’t have to give an advantage, just a useful way to get rid of it…

I really dislike his ideas. No one should be punished for pugging(you already have the downside of investing more time). The challenges aren’t difficult for a organized team, over 6 Gold per path are simply too good compared to normal mode.
Pro: Easy and effortless gold for organized teams
Cons: Pugs won’t be able to find experienced players to play with them any more(it’s already difficult as hell to find someone helping at some specific dungeons). This would segregate the community even more and create a lot of hate
Two changes:
1) much more difficult than wp’s suggestions(organized groups could faceroll goldskull on specific paths)
2) no “better” reward(shouldn’t be 1:1 compareable, like more gold) but an alternative way to show of skill, f.e.: You won’t get any gold(normal mode won’t get obsolete), but instead you would have the chance to get untradeable rewards like specific weapondyes, auras, minis, skins,…(depending on the level of difficulty; multiple of an item could also stack intensity). Highscores are a nice idea, but shouldn’t reward gold(maybe instead a unique skin for the time you stay on top?).
I use for my light armour classes the ascalonian pants. I combined them with the caudecus-shoes, so they don’t look too tight. I like the result(at least 1000x more than the skirt-robe-look). Sadly for my medium classes I’ve not found a single non-coat-shirt
The Glorious Brigadine isn’t a coat, but you can only get it via the Glorious Reward Track in PvP. I use it with either the Aethernet leggings or one of the trousery medium leggings and it looks pretty good, if not a little too modern.
But my biggest issue is definitely light armor. I finally broke down and got the tier one Norn legs for my Mesmer. They’re nice, but I would like a few simple options that don’t have a built-in skirt or dangly bits.
Cool, wasn’t aware such a skin even existed o.0 I think I’m gonna wait for hot since I’m no PvP-player, but when they won’t introduce a medium-class-shirt-skin in there I probably try to get this one. Ty.

Yes. Medium armour needs some different style. All medium classes. Tieves don’t wear coats, they wear trousers(combined with capes) >.<
Yes to trousers, yes to capes, yes to skimpy armour for male characters!
I hope they will find a solution to this soon. Wanted to gaze my GW1 achievements but sadly it won’t let me…
I dislike those preset goals. The original dailies were annoying but tolerable, since I could ingore them, play how i wanted and still got the reward. Since the change I never got the daylies, instead they are even more pushed into my face everytime i log in…

In short, we rate statistically lower, and always will, because we give everyone an equal opportunity, as it is a founding principle of our country.
You’re serious? We still don’t have equal opportunities…
To me legendary means outstanding. You will never get legendary by completing a purchase/to-do list. Instead you will have to achieve something unbelievable no one else could manage, rewared with a unique weapon bound by your soul, telling YOUR story.
Actually there is a hint in the new living story instance: a guy wants to create food with bloodstone dust as an igredient. Probably another ascended-material-sink(cooking 500?). Mawdrew is nice, though he doesn’t eat enough- my supplies are still growing^^
Lesson learned: Gambling is a sin.
So here are some final questions:
1. Do you think there is already enough challenging content that requires strategy and coordination in this game?
2. If Anet did design more challenging content, would there even be enough players to play it?
3. Is the zerg mentality too strong to even prevent some development?
4. What would more challenging content in GW2 look like?
1. There need to be more challenging smallscale(single player/little group) open World Events without punishment. A net of conherent events, so if one event fails the questline will not be resetted or stuck(like balthasar), but will lead into instead to another direction so you’re able to achieve your goal with a different way(f.e. questline A is really difficult. If you win you’ll proceed on A, if you only partially complete it you’ll move on questline B which is slightly less challenging). Of course this net of events needs to be large enough to pretend a living world where your actions will always succeed in a different way.
2. There won’t be enough players for frustrating content, as long it’s no best gp/time. But if loosing doesn’t punish you but opens insted another path, players will still enjoy the contend.
3. Don’t try to fight the zerg mentality, use it. Anet could even exploit the zerg-mentality of the playerbase and create farmable difficult “must-loose”-content(a village you need to defent, the longer you stand up against the enemy the more powerful[and of course rewarding] the attackwaves get resulting into you needing to complete other sideevents and tons of coordination to being able to stand up against the enemys being rewarded with great gp/hour at high-level-waves @ a increasing level of strategy, coordination and difficulty).
4. There are many ways to increase the fun for everyone . TripleTroubleWorm, Twilight Arbor, … taught us that typical raids/hardcoredungeons only please a minority and lock out the majority of the playerbase- the casuals- from content. I don’t think those two playstiles should be pit against each other, but could complement each other to achieve pure awesomeness.

U find ascended armor nice? For people that have been playing 2 years, and only have dungeon/cultural armor to choose from, in a game which is made for the appearence, isnt so great.
U can get dungeon armor in 1 month, maybe less. And if u dont like legendary weapons, what else is there to get at endgame? We simply need something to go for, a goal!Example; ascended dungeon armors: 1000-2000 dungeon tokens/fractal relics for 1 piece (which looks unique), it may be a grind to get, but atleast it’s something. And u get something nice, from doing dungeons, after doing them so many times (like AP; 3k-6k,…)
I’m just giving an example, but stuff like this is needed to keep players here. When i login i only see 1/4th of my friends online, compared to 6 months ago. People want rewards for effort, which is lacking atm.
1-2k dungeontoken for one piece? More like 10-20k^^
I needed ~20 insignias for 400-500 crafting, thats 40(assuming ~50% chance of blk)* 180 token~7200 token. Not counting the money/time/laurels/karma/… to make ascended armour itself…
They should organize, that your server get’s a placeholder for a few minutes if you disconnect, so you can reconnect and and finish the activities you were doing. No Idea if that’s possible to implement, since they have massive problems with grouping anyway…
They should get rid of Junk&Click rewards and ad some meaningful ones(smth. that represents your playstile). Also they need to get rid of those tons of currencys(I was frustrated when I noticed that they introduced another currency @ LS2). Some sort of longtermgoal which isn’t totally gold and/or luckbased(for this playstile we already have some longtermgoals, although another one wouldn’t harm). Those new PvP-armour are a step into the right direction.
- chopper fed salvage o matic/charslots
- € -> Gems -> Gold is the fastest method to make gold
- you’ll want some nice looking weapon, without attracting attention = basic skin
or you want some uber flashy weapon to annoy other gamer = legendary
By this logic pretty much every drop is junk. White-Greens are junk, as their only purpose(once you reached lvl 80) is to recycle them… bags are junk, as their only purpose is to open them… summarized: gw2’s rewardsystem is a dissatisfying and inventoryspaceconsuming clickfest Well, at least we should be happy to have AoE-lootpicking and not degradeable kits ^^
This is the reason why there won’t be precursorhunt implemented soon Anyway, have fun with you legendary
No swapping of exotic sigills. Once they introduce ascended/legendary sigills, those may be swapable…
They should have rewarded:
*)300 Token = Ascended weapon(mistforged skin);
or
*)Heroic weapon(100 token) + Gift of Batte(500 Badges of honor) + Crystalline dust + Elonian wine = Exotic weapon(mistforged skin).
2 years(4x winner) + 10k badges of honor seems more reasonable to me than those decades which are now required…(they still could have added another upgrade for those weapons for Season 6+)
Aw, I thought the gift of Heroes = Gift of Battle, my fault. Pretty lame then, 1 skin for several weeks hard work and hundreds of spend gold… well I shouldn’t have expected too much(since Anet somehow doesn’t understand that mistforged will get destroyed once the skin is unlocked – they really thought someone was trolling them by asking if the mistforged weapons were salvageable in the last twitchsession…).
What place would you like to see in my next youtube clip that you HAVEN’T managed to get to?
I want you to get up on top of this ruin. I managed to get up there halfway, but now I’m stuck. Will you accept this challenge?

1600 bags: 2 favors, 1x Mini toxic hybrid, 1x toxic spore skin
I think it’s awesome that those temporary rewards are available again. Temporary items were one of the most toxic things I’ve experienced in many MMO, making them available over a recuring limited period of time is great(i really hope next year those will be available again during crown pavillion).
Genious work. I enjoy collecting crystals, the map is georgeous(exploration in combination of the aspects <3). There could have been a few more events, but the events which are implemented are great fun! Keep up the good work!
Orginally I planned to stay there to get more pavillion- & basar-token, because I’d liked to get some skins. Then I realized that the droprate is extremely low and ppl are still zerging 30 min/boss and not splitting up. As long this stays that way I’ve not any motivation to come back…
I’m happy they reintroduced the Bazaar of the Four Winds. It was the only update I really enjoyed in LS1. It was time to start another LS-chapter. The WvW season is simply too lengthy. 4-6 Weeks would have been more than enough.
And yes, LS affects all servers but not in equal measure.

my advice for everyone going for a legendary: Don’t go for it untill you get a precursor/they release scaveneger hunt.
Nice work on that art, but you should state that those clovers are only a ~33%-chance to get.

I personally like the Champion Risen Giant most. He is soloable with some effort, doesn’t have those 1-hit-mechanics, is dodgeable properly even when some burning/flashing/glittering effects are on him, uses but doesn’t overuse conditions. He is not particulary difficult but simply fun to kill.
What’s your favourite Enemy and why?
Everything that would motivate over a long term is either temporary or cashshopdriven. No wonder it feels unrewarding.
We should be able to select the megaserver we want to be on(esc-select megaserver-megaserver xyz). Balthasar is f.e. bugged since hours atm and I wish I could simply change server to get to a non-bugged copy of the map…(other examples would be: rude mapchat; temple not contested anymore once I’ve entered the map; dungeon entrance contested; …).
For some content up to 15-40 ppl can be enjoyable, though i still prefer small groups/solo. More than 40 ppl is a pain…
Mithril ore and Elder Wood logs are used to create siege weapons. Don’t punish those ppl even more, who are already spending their bank on supporting their server… If you want an Itemssink: Thick leather.
The dungeon is fun, but: It’s hardly pug-able.
I always wondered why the big tree in malestorm and the ruin-tower in timberline falls are no official jp. Both are entertaining, great fun and don’t need any special skills/teleportation guns/…
Got another one for you, though this one will need special skills
Are you sure you want to salvage this ascended item? Congratulations, you just received 20 piles of bloodstone dust!
The language option(european server) of the lfg-tool shows an USA-flag instead of an british one too… well, who cares.
This game is very Dps-driven. I think the most frustrating moment in Gw2 was, when I played a medicore equipped Guard and couldn’t finish the CoE preevent because of the lack of dps… the guy repaired the console faster than I could kill him(even with another medicore equipped guard which was so nice to help me we were unable to solve this event. Tried it about 30 min, it was simply impossible) → switched to full zerker → no problem. I think it would be fun to implement some mechanics which rewards a wider range of builds, though they shouldn’t nerf zerker.
The problem with legendaries is not the precursor, it’s the lack of alternative goals. They should have given us several alternative notably skins a long time ago, which simply show the route you play the game(the legendaries do a great job at showing wealth, but there are tons of other playstyles which don’t have anything to show off). And yes, those should be tedious and almost impossible to get, but therefore rare and special. Right now the only noteable thing to go after is a legendary, one side complains that it’s nothing special anymore, the other that they are missing an item. Of course there are some gameparts which should be available to all(content; best stat armour), but skins/minis/finisher/… would be a great way be special without being unfair… well probably it’s some cashshop-thing I don’t understand, that they act exactly the opposite of that.
Still got tons of that junk. So when is coming that ascended-mats-sink mentioned here?
Let Marjory and Kasmeer help you:
It’s not only about the rewards, it’s simply because they are too repetive and don’t give the player the illusion to have an impact on the world.
Every drop in GW2 feels like a junk item. Either it’s really junk(only sellable to npc or only to get rid off by destroying[ascended]) or it’s a recycle item(kits). Not to mention the ’don’t drop these useless items, you will need them in future’-items… the dropsystem really doesn’t feel satisfying.
