It’s the PR guys fault! Josh Foreman (One of the main creators of the box) would have responded to us about this if he hadn’t been told to stop posting on the forums so much(Because other people at Anet don’t want to have to post as much as him.).

First of all, THEY ARE OWLS NOT BEES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My only complaint about it is that you have to kill the boss in order for the achievement to ding.

I got a full exotic set within the first month (maybe a bit longer but not much). The Ascended Weapons really aren’t super hard to get , I got mine as soon as I could without using the TP to go around the time gate and the only parts I would say were ‘hard’ to get were getting up to 500 and the Empyreal Fragments(those were pretty grindy). Personally, I don’t see what is so horrible about releasing new tiers of gear as a concept. I see it like this: The game needs progression. There are 3 types of progression: 1. Vertical(Stats) 2.Horizontal(Skills and such) 3. Aesthetic(Looks) Aesthetic (while nice) isn’t enough, this has been proved by the pervious living stories. That leaves vertical and horizontal. If you have too much horizontal progression however you have something that is a nightmare to balance(GW1). We are going to get horizontal progression soon, and the vertical progression is coming to an end.
Anet have never lied on purpose, they have only told the truth to the best of their abilities. They are real people who are really passionate about the game and they would like nothing more than for the game to succeed. And by the way, in order to stick by your opinion no matter what, that means you have to ignore EVERYTHING that even implies you might be wrong. (Extreme example: A: If I jump off this cliff I’m going to live! B: No you’re not you are going to fall and die. A: Nope, I’m gonna live. B: Science proves you’re wrong! A: Don’t care, I’m right. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! splat). Stop being so paranoid, people! Everything’s going to be fine….(probably)

Is there going to be some story behind why Tequatl is stronger? Or is this patch just to revamp a lot of stuff?

Was it intentional that Super Tribulating Adventure Box’s Acronym is STAB? Or is that just a happy coincidence?

Hmmmm…. no context. My guess is that he’s just really old. That must be horrible. To be stuck in a job no one wants for that long. He is at least High Councilor now.

(Not counting immortals)Well from the graves (about 132), I found 2 who lived to be in their 90’s, which is about 1.5%, in the real world the amount of people who live to be 90 is only .062%. And in real life people live to be a hundred(.017%), so from a math standpoint I think it’s safe to say people can be older than 100 in Tyria(~.03%)(though it is rare). Although, after doing all that math I don’t think asura living 10% is a rule, more of a guideline. (Do you remember exactly when Yomm mentioned Flax?)
“Physics will do the rest.”
(edited by Chris Starflame.1023)
Perhaps Flax is the son of Flax? Although that is extremely unlikely to happen in Asuran society it could be possible. But, I think it makes a bit more sense if they are the same person. (Btw, humans can live to be a hundred)

Are we ever going to get more events and jumping puzzles like Vexa’s Lab, Hidden Garden, and the Modus Scleris that were added way back during Halloween? I really enjoy these additions to the world. Could they add them during annual events (ala Halloween, and Wintersday) when they don’t have as much stuff to work on?
“Physics will do the rest.”
Why does it have to be now?! During one of the best events?! With things happening every hour?! OH, the humanity!
“Physics will do the rest.”
While I don’t think we(the players) should get any say in this, if Dulfy gets to be in the game, WP definitely should get to.
“Physics will do the rest.”
So it has been hinted at that all of the story so far is going to be linked up somehow. This thread is for speculation on how this is going to happen, how they are going to be related, and how the hell it is connected to the Elder Dragons. (Because it has been hinted that it might).
“Physics will do the rest.”
If you go to the Monastery in Queensdale, you can get drinks that cost 28 karma instead of 7, that count for 4 drinks each, instead of one! So you can get the title 4x faster.
It’s still gonna take forever though.
“Physics will do the rest.”
‘please change this’ is an absolutely horrid title for a post. It gives no information into what the post is about, which means that the people who might have insight into this topic will simply skip it. (Also, it’s 2013, at least start the title with a capital letter)
“Physics will do the rest.”
He is the ringleader of the evil ministers. And they definitely are evil. They financially back the bandits and the centaurs to cause civil unrest to make it easier to convince people that Queen Jennah is not making good decisions, and is too young to be Queen*cough*Separatist*cough*. The bandits also have ties to not only the Inquest (who have ties with the Aetherblades) and Nightmare Court, but the White Mantle as well! So basically Caudecus = Ministry Guard, Centaurs, Bandits, Separatists, Inquest, Nightmare Court, White Mantle (Mursaat? probably not), Aetherblades, and more! He has an entire army!
“Physics will do the rest.”
The clockworks are going to attack everyone. But, it’s not gonna be an accident. Who is currently staying in the castle, and hates the queen? Caudecus.
“Physics will do the rest.”
Is he going to be the one who screws everything up this time?
“Physics will do the rest.”
Yessssss!!!!!!! This more than anything else will encourage me to do dungeons, fractals, and WvW! I won’t have to waste space! Thank you!
“Physics will do the rest.”
After we take Claw Island back, why can we never go there again? It seems like such a waste. I love the look and feel of the place. There is even a POI there that is described in Sea of Sorrows (Maw and Pride), the closest we can get to it is a Marriner Plaque back in Lion’s Arch, and now if I want to see this, I have to go through the Personal Story again. Is there something I’m missing, that explains why we are forbidden from seeing this place again?
“Physics will do the rest.”
I’m guessing the servers did the measuring, I highly doubt someone counted every single account that logged on by hand.
“Physics will do the rest.”
You have the same amount of right to complain about this as any other weapon or armor piece in the game. The person who went to the trouble of crafting the bow deserves to have other people look at it with awe or contempt. The entire point of making a legendary, or any other item that looks cool is to show it off. And who ever said legendaries were supposed to be cool or mean? They are supposed to have really big effects. And this one does just that.
“Physics will do the rest.”
They are planning on adding new PvP gametypes, possibly before the end of 2013.
“Physics will do the rest.”
They have stated they are open to new weapon types, as for the staff bit, you kinda need both hands to use a staff properly.
“Physics will do the rest.”
As it is they have to know what each skill does, if they separate them then they will have to know what each skill does, if it is separated, what both versions are and which is which.

Places(So many places we cannot go! I’d say we can only go to 1/3 of the map.) , dungeons, armor, weapons, and adventure are all going to come in due time. As for the races, Tengu, Largos, and I guess kodan are the most likely. As for a new class, that’s probably never ever gonna happen, but new skills are coming and new weapon types are possible.
“Physics will do the rest.”
Guess what? In August, we are having a human celebration! The other races are invited of course, but mostly humans!
“Physics will do the rest.”
It will happen, eventually, when they get around to it, when it’s ready… someday.
“Physics will do the rest.”
Separating skills like that is a good idea, except that it is then an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE to balance.

Ummmmm….. They didn’t move.

Some bugs in this event chain. From the wiki:
Maybri Shadowstalker will get stuck outside the northern entrance to Hunter’s Gorge and block this event from starting if Legionnaire Slashclaw or the other Charr that travel with her are killed on their way to Foulbear Kraal.
Sometimes the Charr and Human NPCs will make it to Hunter’s Gorge but get stuck before they’re able to start this event, blocking progression.
“Physics will do the rest.”
While I agree that the short stories should be in game as well, knowing that they are there, refusing to read them and then blaming the creators that you didn’t read them is just plain stupid. If you didn’t know they were there that would be one thing, but there is no one to blame but you for not reading them. As for the books, if you don’t want to read them, don’t read them, the plot doesn’t hinge on them at all.
“Physics will do the rest.”
That trailer was awesome! (Except the charr sounded really weird.) And I want the statues!!!!!
“Physics will do the rest.”
I really enjoy the living story. ArenaNet just doesn’t work like other companies do. If/when they decide to make an expansion and announce it, they will keep the living story and I think some of the complaining will go away. People just want to know if there is going to be something really big happening. It would really really stink if they decided to not do an expansion and just stay with the living story though. It would be them caught in the exact same trap they got caught in in Gw1 with the releases every 6 months. There are some things you can’t do if you have a limited time frame like that. If I had to choose between an Expansion and Living Story, I would probably choose expansion.

You guys do know that achievements are SUPPOSED to be difficult and/or time consuming, right?

With the new story about Evon released, I am thoroughly confused about the Black Lion Trading Company. According to what we knew before: Evon left the Ash legion so that he could use his military knowledge in the world of commerce. He was assisted in founding the company by Sareb, who helped fund the Black Lion with the money she made by selling Zojja the frame for Mr. Sparkles.
But, according to the new story he founded the Black Lion Trading Company on orders from the Ash Legion in order to get a footing in Lion’s Arch.
The one line that screws up every theory I can come up with is: “Tomorrow we establish the Black Lion Trading Company – properly.”
So the idea came from the Ash Legion. How did he manage to leave the Legion and keep the Trading Post? Did he even leave? How does Sareb fit in? With how she acts in the Mr. Sparkles story (I can’t remember the story’s name) I find it very hard to believe she would have funded an Ash Legion Trading Company that was going to intimidate the people of Lion’s Arch. Could someone un-muddy the waters a bit?
“Physics will do the rest.”
If the city is the city of Thumanova that would explain the flame legion, bandit, ettin, and harpies. And it would explain why it is off balance.

Personally, I think that Garrenhoff is a pretty good candidate, it could have been built on top of the ruins of Port Stalwart. It has very high cliffs surrounding it, is as far from Orr as LA and has a small peninsula to block it from the wave. It has ruins right next to it(Shattered Observatory) which has a river flowing through it that has to come out of the mountain somewhere(waterfalls). It is closer to Rata Sum than Port Noble(by a tiny bit). It has an excellent view, and the water is fairly shallow. The only thing holding my theory back though is that it is really close to Lion’s Arch. (But then again the time it takes to sail places has never been consistent.)
“Physics will do the rest.”
From the information we have been given I would say it’s safe but I can’t guarantee it.
“Physics will do the rest.”
It’s just a simple thing that has bugged me for a while. And I really don’t think a fix would take very long to make.
“Physics will do the rest.”
This thread has nothing to do with achievement points.
I would like to know why some of the achievements are in the categories they are. Especially the legendary achievement. Why is it in Explorer? It has the same amount of relevance as putting it in the dungeon category. Wouldn’t a much better place be Weapon Master? Since they are weapons? Or fashion? Since it is an entirely cosmetic reward? Even tradesman or hero would make more sense than Explorer! Also, the Moa Racing acheivement, why isn’t it in activities, since it is an activity? Next, WHY DO THE BAR BRAWL ACHIEVEMENTS EXIST!?! We don’t have bar brawl yet! Until the activity is released the achievements shouldn’t be there! Just hide them, or at least stick them under historical or something. ( It would also make me happy if you got rid of giant slayer until we can fight more giants, but at least that is possible, it will take a million years but still) Also, tinkerer should be under fashion instead of tradesman. The entire point of transmuting things is to make things fashionable. If there is a reason for the placement of these acheivements, please tell me, because right now it’s just annoying.
“Physics will do the rest.”
I understand the possibility is infinitesimally small, but it’s still there.
“Physics will do the rest.”
I don’t understand why people hate Kormir and Trahearne. Kormir led the Sunspears extremely successfully for years before the player joined the Order, she got tortured by Kournans, got her EYES EATEN OUT OF HER SKULL, and even after all of that she established a web of spies throughout Abaddon’s Realm. What did the player do? Pretty much only beat stuff up. Beat a lot of really strong things up but still.
As for Trahearne, he studied Orr for 25 years, knowing more about the corrupted land than anyone alive. He proved himself to be a fair and balanced leader of the Pact. He was born exclusively for this purpose. What did we do? We beat stuff up, and infiltrated some places. We wouldn’t have survived without them! We did the fighting yes, but they planned out everything! Without their thinking we would have failed!
Kiel on the other hand is really just doing her job as she’s told. She gets the exact amount of praise she deserves from Magnus. We aren’t even lionguard! We are just volunteering to help.
“Physics will do the rest.”
What happens in the event of a tie between Kiel and Gnashblade? Do both get a seat? Does the existing council vote on who gets the seat? Is there a sudden death voting poll? Do the quaggans get to decide? Is it rigged so that a tie is impossible?

It’s not just pay to win, it’s pay and put in a ton of effort to win. And you won’t just get achievement points, you’ll get titles, skins, items, learn a lot about the lore, and most importantly, you will have fun playing a great game. Also, it is ridiculously cheap! You can get the trilogy( Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall) for only $20!!! and then you can get Eye of the North for $20! Hopefully now that the rewards have received the point boost they sorely needed, more people will be encouraged to go play Guild Wars. ( And then with our new forces we can convince ArenaNet to finish adding Guild Wars: Beyond, like they said they would!)
