However, the reason as we can’t use all armor classes’ skins through each other is the way they’ve been built up (I believe). It would also cause massive clipping and people complaining about it. :/

Thanks After a restart I didn’t experience any issues anymore, however I’ll keep an eye on this for if I ever have trouble again.

It could also be an event to celebrate the end of the winter and that summer is finally there. After all that’s when you’ve managed to live through the winter without starving and the crops will start growing again.

I just logged in on my ‘normal’ account after playing mostly on beta characters. Three chests above my map (one for daily reward) but my non-beta-character just received a HoT mastery point and a blue ‘???’ which is now sitting in my inventory. This happened to anyone else? :o

I quite like the current difficulty. I have to be careful if I want to rush through mobs to get to another point in open world. And I actually have to prioritize mobs in battle. Is that troll with the insects swarms going to hurt me more or the sniper? I really enjoy having to actually look out and keep active, and having to use my dodge.

I feel that using dodge was hardly if at all necessary in non-beta pve, so this is a very welcome change I think.

I feel this too, but it might also be due to the fact that we get such a small part of the map. I feel like I’m doing a lot of repeated events in order to get the exp needed for masteries, which gets dull after a while.

I have full faith however that once we get the full map(s) it’ll feel a lot better as we’ll have more to do.

I actually quite like our little group. I’m not a big fan of the ‘boss’ thing, but I can handle that. At least we’re being addressed directly by them, which is nice.

I do think the Kas/Jory relationship was added too early. I would’ve liked to see their relationship develop at a slower pace. Let little hints drop, let them be best friends before realising that they might want more than friendship. I think that would’ve saved us quite some sappy conversations in between battles.

I love them all, however I only own a green quaggan backpack, which I only use because I have a character that it suits with. I have been pondering about getting the hat, but theres too many other headgear that I want to use more.

I would love for every race to get some exclusive things. More tattoos for Norn, more horns for Charr, more ears or skinpatterns for Asura. Sylvari and human would be difficult. Perhaps more glow-colours, or more options for the skin-patterns as well. For humans I’m at a loss, nothing really sets them apart for me. ^^’

Overall just getting more skin-tones for all characters would be nice though.

Some people have a lot of characters. I myself have 12 slots for characters, and writing all their birthdays down, or logging in on each to see and figure out when they have their birthday would be quite tedious. There’s people with their slots filled to the max, for them especially it would be horrendous.

I too would love to be able to see the date on the character select screen.

Once you’ve done the first instance and are out in the real world, you can head over to the pvp-lobby. You can find it at the icon of the two crossed swords at the top of your screen. Once there you can buy cheap weapons from the npc’s and try out the different animations on the golem dummies.

(The weapons are not soulbound, so you can put them in your bank rather than have to keep buying them over and over again.)

You can change your dialogue in options to whatever language you speak.

I’m saying, they want players to invest in the lore, all they have to do is have it play along side the action.

You can change the dialogue into English, German, French and Spanish(only text). There’s plenty of people who speak a bit of one of those and none of the other languages mentioned. For them it would be very difficult to follow while being in the thick of a fight.

That being said, we have seen some preview for the personal story in HoT. This also seems to follow how dialogue works in the last living story releases, no real cutscenes, but people will actually talk to you inside the world.

If you want to follow the stories in the dungeon, why not look for a group who doesn’t mind? Get some first-timers along to help teach them the dungeon and watch the cutscenes together. It’s not a real solution to your point, but it will enable you to watch them at least once.

I transmuted my dagger, warhorn and focus on asura. For the brief glimpses I do get of them I like seeing the pretty weapons rather than the normal ‘bland’ ones.

You’re standards are unreasonably high if that’s what you consider to be appropriate.

You seem to be throwing armor that has embellishments on the chest (and thus on the breasts) in with armor that has dysfunctional cleavage.

I mean, what, from a practical perspective, is the flaw of Flame Legion, Ascended, Primeval, Heavy Plate, Dark Templar, or Draconic armor? (there’s more but that’s 6 right there)

Primeval still has the odd nothingness under the chest-area, a gap one could slip a sword into. I was honestly in doubt weather I was going to add it to the list or not, but decided not to.
Flame legion does have separate parts for the breasts, the ascended set so heavily implies the idea by putting different materials over half the breast that I personally find it nearly as bad as the full boob-plate. Heavy plate clearly separates the breasts as well in different compartments, dark templar and draconic armor as well, although dark templar a lot less than most. So I’ll give you that one.

When the topic about female armour comes up the forums I do share my opinion on the armour and what I think about it. I realize very well that my standards are quite high, and as such I also won’t run rampant on the forums about how the rest of the armour sucks (it doesn’t, it’s beautiful just not what I would use on my characters), or how we MUST have more of this armour or anything like that. Hell I can’t even start to explain how glad I am when comparing gw2’s armour to that of a lot of other games.

I just like voicing my opinion on the forums in a friendly way. (although friendly is sometimes difficult to convey over the internet.)

For me the main problem with the heavy armor is that the chest armor is shaped like breasts. That just can’t be comfortable and besides that it’s downright dangerous in battle. The plate over the chest is there to deflect blows to the side. In the case of two shaped breasts a blade can slide in between, your opponent just has to lift her arm up and you have a blade sticking up your jaw and into your skull.

I too want my characters to be able to be distinguished as female, but I daresay that we do not need skimpy armor, or boob-shaped armor for that. To give an ingame example: the chainmail sets as well as the ascalonian chestpiece.
To give some real world examples:

Don’t we already have a big set of those type of armor ingame? In fact if I’m not mistaken the carapace and glorious armor (2 of the aded armor) fit that category.

Don’t forget the Heritage set. Actually, the vast majority of heavy armor is like that.
Everyone complaining clearly hasn’t bothered to check the wardrobe and count.
They just look at the ones the majority of people actually use and assume they’re all like that.

As I have spend a fair chunk of the day checking armour for my female norn that doesn’t have a boobplate or random bits of skin sticking out I can say that there isn’t much armor that doesn’t have boobplates. I’m going to leave cultural armor out of the mix as they can’t be used by every race. Some of the armors I list do have a boobplate, but only so slightly that I personally find it neglectable, some like the carapace armour do give the impression of it due to the ornament in between the breasts.

Now that does seem like a lot. However the thing is, basically everything that says ‘chain’ or ‘scale’ and the militia one are low level armor without much detail, so take 9 sets away from what most people will want to use.
The radiant cuirass needs 30k AP to get, so that’s outside the scope of many of us.
The glorious breastplate needs a pvp track to complete, so that leaves those who don’t pvp out of that one as well.

That leaves us with a whopping 8 skins that aren’t boob-plate, low-level-looking or skimpy. Take into account further taste in armour and a lot of those also fall away.
So that’s 8 skins from the 61 we have in game, 10 if they have 30k AP and do pvp as well.

My main issues are that
1. We don’t know how much content we’re getting for these $50, with what we currently know I find the price quite high.
2. We don’t know when it releases.
3. I too would like a small extra like a character slot for current players like a character slot.

I think it’s a great gesture to give new players the core game for free along with the expansion, it helps new players to get in without missing out on newer things. But throw the currently players a bone as well and most of the drama will most likely be gone.

Just adding my voice to this mass of people. I too am not happy with the current pricing and the fact that veteran players practically get screwed over on this. :/

Sure there’s a point in rebuilding. As said they’re making better fortifications so the city is better prepared for the next lunatic. Also, Lion’s Arch is home to many people.
And if you wonder why these people don’t just go live somewhere else… That doesn’t happen in the real world either, otherwise we wouldn’t hear about hurricanes tearing people’s houses down more than once in the same place.

Nah, the Male armor like Gladiator show more skin. I don’t mind showing skin on the males if it’s cool. It’s not about this self-righteous whining about “equality”, it’s about what looks good. Conan the barbarian looks awesome & he wears less than any woman in GW. Boob windows look good. That’s why lots of outfits have cleavage for women & for the guys they just remove the entire top. looks better. This guy just looks like an idiot.

I personally don’t think the way they exposed the skin with this outfit looks bad. I do agree that some others that show it in a different way do it better, like indeed gladiator armor. However we really could use more options imo.

And I generally think the boob-window on armor is terrible, on light armor I can go ‘oh well’ but on heavy armor it’s just ridiculous, just like the boob-shaped armor for that matter. shrugs

It all stays a matter of opinion I suppose.

Reason?
I played a male charr during beta (thief), but I got annoyed with the clipping, the running animation and the overall stretching out of the armor. It simply looked better on the other races, and I started to love the aesthetic of the sylvari.

Recently however I made a male charr warrior and started RP’ing on him. Found some well-fitting armor and remembered what I liked so much about the charr in the first place. The voice, the lore, their personal story (seriously they do have the best dialogue imo) and god their emotes are great… So for now, warrior. Later a revenant.

I’m wondering if Malyck not knowing of a dream/not being corrupted has anything to do with the fact that his pod has drifted down the river, he didn’t seem to have awakened anywhere near his tree, in fact most likely at the location of the pod.

Maybe he got disconnected from his tree early?

Thing is, an average girls like things that are beautiful- and typical boys like things that are kitten and cool. Rainbows and uicorns are NOT kitten.

People keep talking about average/typical/normal girls and boys and I still can’t figure out what that would be. I have not had the pleasure of meeting anyone who is ‘normal, average or typical’ and believe they are rarer than unicorns.

On-topic: I support the idea of making the next legendaries we get more serious, I myself am not a big fun of the current legendaries, and those I do like are weapons I don’t really use a lot.

Also the fact that something gets labeled right away as ‘girly’, (basically saying that every man who uses it suddenly isn’t a man anymore and women must like this bow or they aren’t women?) is just silly and not necessary, nor is it a good argument to make his point.

I would love more armour sets rather than outfits. Preferably something that shows the same amount of skin on male and female characters.

Other than that: more armour that stays in theme with a specific race ^^

I’m all in for letting everyone use whatever armor they want, however: there are actually light armor pants that don’t scream ‘mage’ imo. All it takes is some clever combining of different sets.
There is also the AC legs which only has a short skirt-like thing.
Obviously it comes down to personal taste, but there are options that aren’t all long skirts, although not many.

I actually quite like this development. His intentions have always been good – he just wasn’t handling it so well, and he understands that. But seeing how he reacts to things now, he is someone who will get the job done, in whatever way.
Putting him in a cell for a time is not making him a good guy. He shows remorse in the cell for how he handled it all, yes. But wouldn’t you when you are put in a cell? He’d be pretty stupid to stand there and say everyone got what they deserved if he ever hopes to get out of there again.
Canach is a smart guy, but not an entirely nice guy. And tbh I think the story really calls for someone like that.

I would love to have airships as guild halls. It is shown in both the personal story and the living world that there are airships of quite big sizes that ‘could’ hold an entire guild.
An idea would be to have the airship(s) flying over a starter city or Lion’s Arch. If you look up you can see one or more of them up high, not unlike how it is done in Orr.
Have a certain point where you can go to the airship, a dock of some sorts, or use the hot airballoons. Gives them a new purpose as well.
A short animation of the balloon taking off, and it pops you to your guild instance.
From the airship looking down you can see whatever city was set by the guild leader to fly over.
In a way it would be comparable to the Omphalos chamber in the grove – an instance you can see from below, but is still a separate instance.

Hey, you got some nice outfits here!
I’d like to request an outfit + dyes for my asura.

A couple of things about Agent Sholt:
-Is a part of the inquest, he works alone out in the field however and doesn’t need to be indentifiable as one right away.
-Always wears his inventor sunglasses
-He travels a lot
-He’s a necromancer who gets his hands dirty a lot, being part of the inquest he goes to great lenghts to do his research and doesn’t mind killing people/mobs to experiment with their bodies…

Other things:
-He wears light armor, I have no problem getting dungeon armor, although I dislike armor with flames and the Arah shoulders.
-I have phoenix armor from the gemstore
-I have ascended legs
-I have Hall of Monuments top, legs, boots and gloves
-I have the molten and celestial dye (listed as they’re quite pricey) so feel free to play around with those as well if you like.
-No problem buying cultural gear as well.

The only requirement really is that he keeps his inventor glasses. I’m curious to see what you come up with! ^^

I didn’t play it a lot, I wasn’t good at it, but I have some really fond memories of just jumping around and having fun in there with a friend.
I don’t see any harm in opening it up again, even without new levels added, I would just love to play it again. It’s been such a long time. :C

I would love to have FPV. Not for combat really – it would be quite unhandy at that.
However the art in the game is amazing.
Per example: Scarlet’s room holds a lot of interesting stuff, and most of it is really small, there are opened books scattered around at places, there are writings on walls and all that… And I just can’t read it or inspect it up close. And that’s frustrating. Eventually I’ll go to reddit to see if anyone has datamined the things so I can actually see it.

Also, mob-models. Some of then are really cool, I personally love the mordrem wolves. But just as with other aggressive mobs… I can not get an upclose screenshot from them without my character being somewhere in the screen and often blocking the view.

Looking out over landscapes and wanting to take a screenshot? Nope.

I just want to see the world up close every now and then. :C
(And Anet does have the ability to overwrite our camera at per example boss fights. I could personally live with a trigger to third person when you enter combat. No screenies from mobs, but at least I can see some things up close then.)
