They’re good suggestions. In a bad format and tone… You sound like a ranting kid.
But, to put that aside…
Guild halls would be a very nice addition to the game, as well as housing. (the personal district in the starter towns don’t even have a house for the player) As ironworkshop said, guild halls are being worked on. But something like that also takes time to develop. I rather wait and get awesome guild-halls than something crappy that isn’t well thought out.
The downgrading system works fine imo. Ofcourse you die against a group of level 20 mobs in a few hits. Just like any other level 20 would… This keeps it interesting and fun to go back to the lower area’s. Facerolling your keyboard isn’t going to cut it.
2d version of wvwvw…
……..
dies of laughter
Anyways, that wouldn’t work.
I have no problem with lag whatsoever in wvwvw, check if your pc can handle it, and if your network can handle it.
The mysteries dissapear and life stands explained.”
I’d love to ‘easily’ explore the wvwvw area’s, however as mentioned before, it would make it really easy to scout for your group.
The last suggestion would work, if it weren’t that people will complain about 1. not being able to play wvwvw that hour.
2. people who want to explore not being able to login that hour (due to timezone/work/whatever reason people will rage anyways)

Hi there, I recently switched server and I am still able to acces the items from my bank and the collectibles.
Just keep in mind, guild-banks are server-bound. If you have items in a guild-bank, make sure to take them out before you move.

In a previous MMO I played “experienced people only” or, “must have X gear” I always payed close attention to that person.
With only few exceptions, those people were just plain bad/had no experience in there themselves, and didn’t meet the gear requirements they set for the rest…
I’d say, just ask to join, if they ask if you have experience… “yes.” Then just stick close to the rest and pay attention. Within no-time you’ll be experienced…

Happy to see this implemented! I recently switched world, but left some friends behind doing so. Good to know I’ll be able to play with them again soon outside dungeons and spvp!

I really don’t like the way they did armor in this game. I wish it was more like the dye system where you can unlock styles. Then I could change my armor look freely while keeping the same stats. Now, once I make a set, I feel like I’m locked into it.
You can give any armor set any look you want using transmutation stones.
I think the point he/she is trying to make, is that once you transmute you either loose stats, or loose a look.
Or to make it more concrete: I’d love to switch between the look of my duelist coat and my ascalonian coat without having to loose either look, or loose stats.
Ontopic: tbh I think there is quite some choice already in looks, even at the lower levels. At personal story you can usually pick between 3 looks already and on the trading post you can find other looks too. Even higher armor for just a few coppers. Transmutation stones are almost unlimited supply. Tbh I don’t think there’s a real reason to complain :/

Aw man… even though he’s one of my favourite characters, this just cracks me up xD
The mysteries dissapear and life stands explained.”
So yeah, I agree with the OP. I’m not interested in controlling what happens to my character. What I want to control is how my character reacts after something happens—the words that come from her mouth, the feelings she has, the morals she decides to follow.
It would already help a lot if only the personality type made any sort of effect. There’s quite a big difference, or should be, between my ‘militant’ thief and my ‘charming’ mesmer…
Well I sort of understand you but really don’t forget, it must have been really hard to make all these different paths you can choose and with the game already taking a huge amount of time to complete it would take a lot more to make emotions be a thing in the game. Im sure they will add something in the future regarding this so you might want to post this in the suggestions regarding more chosen by you emotions from your character.
I understand it’s a difficult thing, and also quite a pricey thing to make so many different story paths. It’s too bad however that the story if you’d work out the paths on paper is a funnel. (is that the right word..? Not sure.) You all start out differently, but are being pushed towards the same ending.
At the moment we join an order all personality that was developed for our race also dissapears. The comic-relief Asura, the witty Charr, the cheerfull Sylvari, heroic Norn… They all get pushed into ‘serious human.’ :/

Smokescreen and shadow refugee are nice in dungeons.
Granted I’ve only ran dungeons on my mesmer, and not many of them. Blocking projectiles and blinding enemies is always nice.![]()
Shadow refugee has been explained enough I guess.Besides those two Shadow Step is nice to de-activate traps in AC. And it’s also nice to get past traps of course.
Needle trap for a bit of CC, along with devourer venom.
Thrill of the Crime – Trickery V – Fury, might and swiftness for 10 seconds for all allies when you steal
Bountiful theft – Trickery VII – 15 seconds of vigor for nearby allies on steal + 2 boons are ripped from the target and given to allies )image that on the jellyfish boss in fractals who gains like 20 stacks of might)
Just my 2cts
If the enemy has 20 stacks, you only steal 1 stack, so its pointless to steal might.
Stealth is ignored by most NPCs, if you stealth they will just go right where you are stealthed and stare at you till it goes away.
Shadow Refuge is ok, but 1000 healing is worthless in dungeons, thats basicly one shout heal from a warrior and thats 1/10th of what one healing banner could do, and Rangers and most classes can give everyone regeneration, and protection.
Thief is horrible in dungeons compared to other classes, even rangers.
Ah, my bad. I personally don’t have the trait but figured it would work like the mesmer skill arcane thievery which steals all stacks
The mysteries dissapear and life stands explained.”
I never really looked at ‘what will fit my playstyle’ to be honest. Usually I pick classes based on characters from stories I write ^^’ And so I happened to start out with a thief, while I usually play only ranged casters, sometimes hybrids.
Got the character to level 80, got bored and made a mesmer. Tried pretty much every weapon combo and in the end I went with staff/sword-focus.
I love being able to switch in and out of melee while having the ability to hide between my clones if neccesary, or make a run for it, leaving my clones behind as a decoy.
Yeps, mesmer fits my playstyle. Recently started playing my thief again too with a completely new build and enjoying that too again.
I enjoy a lot of different playstyles I gues… ^^’ As long as it comes down to either high damage, or being tough to kill

If you prefer the norn-look you can always just make a norn, go through the asura-gate in hoelbrak. This will bring you to Lion’s Arch. There are gates to all starter cities there and you can level in any of them. The only reason to return to the norn-area would be personal story
The mysteries dissapear and life stands explained.”
hea, happy new year to you too and welcome to gw2
Your thief and ranger have the same armor atm, because the look depends on your armor-type. Ranger and thief both wear medium armor, so that’s why they look the same. Heavy and light armor get different looks.
As you level up and do heart-quests and dynamic events you will find new armor, sometimes it drops from mobs, but you can also buy armor from karma-vendors. They open up once you completed a heart. Karma is gained from doing dynamic events and hearts. Also you’ll get rewards, mostly armor, from doing your personal story. As you progress you’ll see that there are more and more looks that you can choose from.
About the huntsmaker, I think you’re referring to crafting npc’s. They allow you to craft your own armor and weapons depending on what profession you choose.
It can be kinda pricey to level it up, though it also grants you experience
Something else you should know, (imo) is that you can use transmutation stones, to merge armor. You can take the look of one, and the stats of another, as long as they’re both the same armor type.
Some helpful websites:
http://www.guildhead.com/ here you can view weapons in 3D

There is no ‘good’ or ‘bad’ time to start looking for a guild. It all comes down to your own preference. If you don’t feel ready to join a guild, then wait until you do feel comfortable with it.
If the point is that you don’t know enough about guilds, the information is easy to come by on the wiki. But basically, it’s just a group of people you can chat with, team up with and have fun with.
What you should look for in a guild depends on what you want in a guild. I personally favor smaller guilds that have a family-feel to it. Others prefer a big and competitive guild.
There’s a couple of basic questions you can consider, and maybe ask the person who wants to invite you.
-Do you want a small, or big guild?
-What do you enjoy doing/want to do ingame? Do you like spvp, open world pve, dungeons, WvWvW? Some guilds mostly run dungeons, while others mostly run WvW
After that it comes down to if you like the guild once you joined of course
I wish you best of luck with finding a nice guild that suits you ^^

The mysteries dissapear and life stands explained.”
I agree on that there is an overwhelming amount of characters. To be honest I can hardly remember any of them. The only memorable characters for me are the members of destiny’s edge, trahearne and your order-mentor.
All these seemingly random people I met along the way… I forgot them. I vaguely recall recruiting some sylvari’s. Their names? Ermh… well. Good question!
So I am a human and choose the commoner storyline. Wonder what happened to that innkeeper and his daughter-what was her name again? Weren’t they the people that raised me..? Why do I never hear from them? Why when I stop by is it that they hardly recognize me?
Besides having less characters, I think they should be better fleshed out. I felt a certain attachment to my order mentors. You get to spend a lot of time with them, they treat you as an equal. They have their weaknesses and their strenghts. Better, they have a personality. (sorry I’m going there) I really liked Tybalt. And I still think it sucks he died. Mostly because they removed pretty much the only character from my story that I had some emotional attachment to.
Characters like Trahearne, you also spend a lot of time with him, yet there is no connection. I think this is because besides being extremely serious, he has no extremes in his personality. He seems to be one of those people who never shows the back of his tongue, which annoys me. ^^’
In a nutshell, things I’d like to see is characters from your past coming back, even if just something without a lot of importance. And more fleshed out characters, to whom you get some sort of attachment.
The mysteries dissapear and life stands explained.”
At the last quest of the orders you can choose between all 3 orders. It is stated in the cutscene that all three orders want you to join them, and that you have to pick carefully, because this time the choice will be permanent.
In the quests before that you always have to choose between 2 different orders.

15 in trickery
I mainly use the venoms now, for elite I swap it out depending on what I do, but I mostly use the human grenth elite skill to apply more debuffs.
The stealing health when using the venoms have proven to be a charm for me.
I usually start of with shortbow when there’s more enemies. Laying down the poison field, swap to daggers, death blossom for the poison darts.
Every now and then I use P/P, mainly because I still enjoy pistols too
I don’t really pvp, and haven’t tested the build there.

I’d love to see capes too, although clipping would be quite an issue
Further I would also like the steampunk inspired clothing/armor. Not to mentions I’d love medieval themed clothing, pirate blouses, and that sort of things.
As for weapons, I’d love to see some more fantasy-inspired daggers with only one cutting edge. (personal preference for single edged daggers ^^’)
The mysteries dissapear and life stands explained.”
I use hammer/sword-focus, which works like a charm for me. (I really feel like I’m the only one not using greatsword…)
Sword/focus gives you two skills that blind your enemy, one being a leap. One ranged attack that blocks projectiles, and a shield that blocks 3 attacks or explodes.
Personally I love it. It deals damage, and has plenty of defensive abilities too.
Combined with hammer for aoe-damage and CC it works wonders for me. ^^’
Maybe the singlehanded sword just doesn’t fit your playstyle? I know I like greatswords, but it just doesn’t fit mine

There is an asura lab in one of the houses too. If you go up to the attic there are some components of the lab, in a personal story, whisper-chain of the asura you also enter the basement of that same house, where there is a complete asura lab.

3. Kodan – After doing the quests in frostgorge sound they interest me. Their ways of thinking with balance is pretty nice
The mysteries dissapear and life stands explained.”
I have 2 level 80’s for quite some time now, yet I’m hardly ever bored. And tbh, whenever I’m bored it’s not because there’s nothing to do.
I have yet to get to 100% completion on a single character, yet I’m not really trying hard to get to it. I explore when I feel like it, I search for jumping puzzles, do jumping puzzles I already did again, sometimes run a dungeon or just fool around with some friends, sometimes pve, sometimes pvp. I don’t enjoy WvW and stay away from it. So far I’ve been in fractals only once and I’ve never sat around in lion’s arch LFG.
The thing is, which is a problem for some people I think, is that the game doesn’t force you to do anything at all. You don’t have to do certain things to keep up with gear, or levels.
Some people (like me) love that aspect of the game, it keeps me playing. Some people however find it boring.
The mysteries dissapear and life stands explained.”
Hea there, I feel your pain with the personal story… As someone who writes a lot I’ve based my ingame characters of the characters in the story I’m writing. However none of them would reply the way they do ingame…
I decided to look at the personal story in a different way instead.
Per example… My thief. In my own story he’s trained an assassin from a very young age. Helping people and becoming a hero would not something he would do because ‘the world has to be saved’.
So instead I decided to see the story from a different point of view. My thief has some personal goals, and instead of helping all those people, he’s just acting. The people he helps? They are all part of his ‘big plan’.
Try to give it your own twist, why is your character suddenly behaving like that? Surely he or she must have a reason

I enjoy both solo-play and team-play although I mostly solo. (Which is mostly because I’m in a small guild/low-populated server/don’t have a lot of friends playing)
At this moment, I’ve done half of my monthly. Only the xmas things.
I’d love to work towards getting my monthly achievement, however the WvWvW is keeping me from it. I haven’t run any FotM this month yet, because well. I’m not getting the WvW achievement anyways, and I can enjoy myself too doing other things…
WvW is not fun imo. Solo I get shot down, in a zerg I don’t contribute enough, or the whole zerg gets shot down.
Yes, WvWvW is a big part of the game, and I’m 100% sure that a LOT of people enjoy it, and find the monthly easy to get. However, I don’t think it belongs in the PvE-achievements. :/ I don’t get the achievement by killing 15 npc-keep-guards, or killing the dolyaks and their escort.
In order to get my PvE achievement, I have to kill other players.
If they want to direct us into WvW, that’s fine with me. But let killing npc’s count for us pve-players
The mysteries dissapear and life stands explained.”
It doesn’t really matter all that much. You probably have gone on missions with all 3.
It depends more on what you enjoy doing.
Durmand Priory: They’re the explorers, they seek knowledge and explore tombs and such.
Order of Whispers: They’re the assassins, the stealthy ones. They gain information through infiltration.
The Vigil: They’re the soldiers. They gain information.. well I don’t really know. They’re soldiers. I haven’t played through that story-line yet
Anyways, just pick what you like best. On different characters you can always pick a different order ^^
And you can’t really report an event for other players, however you can speak in the map channel if you put /map before your message. You can also shift+click a waypoint to let people know where the event is

I am personally working towards a smaller goal(which is cultural armor, small thing to some people, for me it’ll take months )
I keep myself motivated by trying it on my character every now and then, remembering myself what I’m working for, and how awesome it will be once I get all the pieces.
(you can copy the code of the weapon from database and link it in chat to try it on in case you don’t know)
Another thing could be by just putting x amount of coin aside. I personally carry around 1 gold at my main. Enough to teleport and repair armor when needed, all coin I make during playing gets dumped into the bank.
After a while you’ll see it starts to add up, which is also kind of motivational to me personally ^^
And I wish you good luck on your way to a legendary weapon!
If only I had the patience instead I’ll just look in awe at the people who manage to get one ^^
