I agree! I would love to see more plant-like armor to choose from and also weapons.
Atm it’s just very lacking on that part… Besides that I’d also like to see some more plant-themed pets for rangers.

I agree with Emmet. I also voted Evon (although I also dislike rng).

Kiel just didn’t seem like a good choice to me. She hasn’t been ‘on stage’ for a long time, while we knew nothing of her, Evon was running the black lion trading post; the biggest trading company. He seemed more someone who can think logically rather than with his heart.

Besides that; Kiel reminds me of Trahearne.

“I did this, and I did that, I didn’t need any help and I did everything myself!” > gets promoted some more while the player did all the work and she reaps the rewards.

Either way; I don’t own a legendary myself but I can understand you frustration… Hope it gets fixed soon.

In the living story updates there’s always some content I enjoy and some that I don’t, this isn’t one of my favourite updates, but either way…

The only thing that kind of bugs me about the living story is that I hardly see a connection between all the different parts. I don’t see a plotline… at all.

I feel that there’s improvement in it however by letting earlier met characters come back as well as some enemies, however I still have no idea if there even is a plot other than: we throw a party; something attacks or goes wrong.

Don’t worry about it too much!
Some parties will expect you to know what’s going on; however they usually advertise for ‘exp people only’.
If you say it’s your first time in a dungeon, or vs a boss, or you weren’t sure about the mechanics: ask. A lot of people are most willing to help and to give advice.

I’ve skimmed over a part of the topic; just to say that first.

Personally I’ve never ran Arah, so had no need to have it open; I haven’t farmed the event either.
Sure, thanks to farmers tier6 mats are cheaper(which is both good and bad); and there aren’t much farming spots left.

But I can see where the OP is coming from. It IS frustrating when people are deliberately farming an event for hours; blocking progress for others, not to mention badmouthing the people who DO wish to finish the event.
I’ve had this issue myself with Claw of Jormag where a bunch of people eventually showed up to help complete the event; after we finally managed to get the claw to land (and while trying to get him to do so) we were badmouthed by the group of farmers while they stood there doing nothing but yelling at us. And that is just to complete an event; it isn’t blocking progress for others.

Events aren’t there to be farmed, but to be completed. Tbh; I think that events that could block progress should be more like CoF; on a frigging timer.

The following conversation (roughly, can’t remember exact words) was held in my guild last evening:
a: Hea, who do you support?
b: Both, I just want to get my achievements done, I don’t really care.
c: Oh I support Evon, the fractal seems cooler. But I don’t really mind if Kiel would win.
d: I just want a charr mini, I don’t really care for the kiel one. Might or mightn’t do the achievements.
e: They’re all achievement points and I just want to get to the next reward chest!

Actually; no one really cared, we ran fractals twice last night so everyone would get the achievements for both. shrug

There might be some people who really care about it, but there will always be people like that. It’s a game, where everyone will get multiple votes, and tbh; there might be ‘some’ impact in the game; Kiel would do x where evon will do y; but I highly doubt it’ll be a matter of what is going to happen. They are most likely not the driving force behind events happening although they may play a role in it.
With not being a driving force I mean that it are usually enemy forces who ignite stuff into events.

I dare to say I play casually and still earn enough gold.
At this moment I have about 30 gold, leveled 4 crafts and am halfway the 5th, I have 2 pieces of tier 3 armor (top and legs) have multiple pieces of tier 1 and 2 armor over different characters, have (near) full exotic on 3 level 80 characters, I am working towards a legendary (thus have a ton of tier 6 mats, a couple of mats for mystic clovers and 40 mystic clovers made.

I might not be ‘as’ rich as a part of the community, but I am having fun, and doing whatever I want.
I RP with my guild, occasionally run a dungeon or fractals (that happens like what? Once a month..?) I sometimes wvwvw, I work on map completion and just randomly run around and kill stuff, if I happen to feel like beating up something bigger I’ll check gw2stuffs and see what events are running.

I am not exceptionally lucky with drops, I do not play the TP, I do not rush dungeons and I’m fractals lvl 7 atm.
As said I don’t sell the tier 6 mats I get which would net me quite a bit of extra gold.

tbh, I think gold isn’t all THAT hard to earn. Clean out your collecters tab every now and then, sell anything that’s worth something and gold will come easily.

I can’t seem to complete it either, and although I’m not a completionist; it’s driving me nuts. It keeps glaring at me at the achievement panel “you have almost completed this. But you can’t.”

I had about 6 mails, asked a friend to send me 4 mails, it got stuck at 9 mails and I never got nr 10. This isn’t the first time either, plenty of times I decided to just clean up my mailbox when it was almost full to to suddenly receive 3 more mails :|

I send a bug report about it ingame already, but nothing has happened yet…

Whenever I log in, I just do what I feel like. I am saving for a legendary, but in my own pace. I’ll hang onto the mats I need, I check gw2stuff for dragon attacks when I feel like it, but certainly won’t drop everything I’m doing for it. I do jumping puzzles, RP with my guild and just relax.
I have 3 level 80 characters, mostly in exotics but I still lack pieces here and there and haven’t put in specific runes.
When I want to run a dungeon I’ll ask some friends along and we’ll do the dungeon at our own pace.
Besides that I also play wvwvw and pvp every now and then.

tl;dr: I just relax. Don’t rush things, enjoy the journey there and the moment I get annoyed with something I just stop doing it until I feel like trying again.

One of the Mesmer illusions uses hatchets, I think it can very well be a possibility we’re going to see that weapon.

There is one thing I don’t agree on though, I actually would like a quest to get the skill, a bit like personal story or something like the drinking game.
Have people actually earn the skill instead of “oh hea, look I spend 2 minutes killing centaurs, and I found out a new way to shoot my bow in the meantime.”
I would think it better/more realistic if you actually learn the skills in a more peaceful environment before you put them to the test.

I personally don’t like or dislike the weapon skins… it’s a bit shiny for my taste, but hea. It’s free! So yeh, my alts are going to be sporting those weapon skins, as I prefer them over the pre-80 ones. shrugs
Besides that if I dont like them, it’s not as if they’re using bankspace, which is a HUGE pro imo.
The armor skins… I like the white-ish things, just that all the detail is lost in the shiney-ness.

And just because you like something doesn’t mean that you should automatically get one.

That’s the beauty of RNG whether someone has 2 copper or 2000g they both have equal opportunity to get that ticket.

He isnt saying we should automatically get them; we would have to complete achievements to get them.

And I there isn’t an equal chance. 2000g will buy more boxes than 2 copper (lets ignore the fact 2 copper won’t buy you a single coffer)
If you enter in 15 different lotteries (as different coffers are essentially different lotteries) or you enter in 1. You will have more chance to win as you have more opportunities to win. The % per lottery stays the same; but as you participate more often you will have more chance to win than the person who only enters once.

However, if you mean the chance would be the same if they both opened the same amount of coffers; yes you’re right.

That out of the way…
I do agree with getting a ticket from achievements; even if this would mean you’d have to complete all the achievements. This would keep the weapon rare for those who care about that; it would mean you’d actually have to work towards it, and those who want to gamble to get one could do so.

Personally I have gotten a ticket from somewhere around 1k boxes, so I’m happy. However I would like a way to work towards something instead of clicking boxes.

For digital works I use painttool sai for linearts/colors and photoshop for some extra effects and quick color/mood changes. (which I do with the help of layermasks)

Sometimes I also use adobe illustrator for illustrations, but that’s more depending on the work I made…

A lot of people also use GIMP, it’s a free program and (appears) to be pretty good too. Personally I can’t work with it, but that’s because I never bothered to figure it out I have seen amazing works of others who do work with it.

Anyways… surprises for friends are awesome!
Very pretty character, and nice personality, certainly gives me something to work with.
I’d love to draw her with the hammer, this also gives options to more ‘open’ poses, which means you will see more of her armor.

I’ve sketched up some different poses in the train (and traced them digitally for some visibility) which you can find in the attachment.
So… That opens up two questions I have!

1. What pose do you like best for her character? (or maybe a different pose than I sketched so far)
2. What kind of boots is she wearing?

I really like the dungeon, but untill it’s fixed I certainly won’t run it… Truly a shame, especially because it’s limited time content

I LOVE the light armor on my Asura and will defenitly buy it once I got the money to do so.
I might also get the medium armor for my engineer, and maaaaaybe even for my ranger. The only set I don’t like is the heavy armor, but I can live with that :P

All 5 jumped from my group and bugged. When we died and respawned we all went through the door and she would follow us, but not use any consoles.

Here the same problem… She first would stand still and not move. We all jumped down the puzzle and respawned, she then followed us around but wouldn’t open anything… :/ Just not we got booted to LA…

Does anyone know if these armor sets will be a permanent addition to the gem store?

Zixax: 9/10 > It sounds cool, but after saying it out loud a couple of times you start to stumble over it a bit. I (think) it is lore-based, so kudo’s for that!

Minigrump/Techno Mini: 6/10 > Funny name, however not a ‘real’ name. The play on ‘mini’ and Asura always kinda ticks me off as uncreative :P

I posted my Asura name earlier, but didn’t get rated… So I’m going to post it here again:

My guardian is called Sholto.

I’ve opened around 1000 coffers, some farmed, some gotten from a friend (whom I send the candy too as he wanted the wings) and some bought from the trading post.
First coffee opened; a risen knight. Then loads of food, fireworks and candy, later another 2 knights, more candy etc, then finally the jade ticket!
Have not noticed any trend to be honest in suddenly getting better rewards, as the 2 knight tickets were gotten around noon and the ticket in the evening.

I’d like an instrument like a guitar, a lute or violin. As a guitar player myself (and learning to play violin) I would absolutely love it

An animation to actually sit on chairs… Tired of seeing all these comfy chairs and not being able to use them… :C

I personally can’t say much about the engineer and warrior, I have gotten a warrior to 35 or so, then deleted him out of boredom. I do have an engineer, but he’s around level 10.

I do however have a level 80 mesmer.
They’re really versatile; that’s for sure. In dungeons you can move people past traps with portal, make archers kill themselves on different reflects and there’s a couple of fun builds to play with.
Personally I play staff/sword-focus. Often the last one standing when a squad wipes due to the many ways to get out of harms way.

As said about the warrior; I personally found it dull to play ^^’ This obviously doesn’t go for a lot of other people but I might as well state my reasons here:
-You hardly have to stay on your toes; I’d wack something, and it’d die.
-A lot of the weapons just feel slow and clunky. Per example the rifle.

For Engineer I can’t say much as mine is still a really low level.

As for a race; it comes down to personal preference I gues. Although the mesmer mask looks awesome on a charr.
Asura are cute and have nice animations.
Sylvari are… well.. Sylvari. They have a certain grace imo. (I play a sylvari mesmer )
Norn are also nice; though I dislike being with one in a dungeon due to visibility of the area x’D (same counts for charrs :P )

Not too long after the launch of gw2 I tried getting back into my old mmo too… I had left a lot of friends there, so decided to see if I could play both.
1. Why isn’t my character attacking..? .. Oh, wait. I have to stand still and let this mob punch me while I punch it back.
2. Doooooodge! <healer wondering why the hell I’m moving… Again.>
3. Why can’t I use my skills…. Oh. Right. Mana.
4. Fly, land, fly, land, fly, land. Right. 6 was bound to flying, not healing.
5. "Oke, I can kill this mob from downed state, np! <no downstate occurs>

Gave my account and items from that game to a friend who divided the stuff among other friends of mine. Never going back there.
I tried some other mmo’s, but nothing keeps my attention like gw2. The fact that I also don’t feel ‘forced’ to login helps a LOT with my enjoyment of the game.

Regarding Asura and Charr: I have difficulty drawing them, but I am more than willing to learn and try.

I have 3 lvl80’s atm. Thief, mesmer and guardian.
The first two leveld relatively fast, the last one… not so much.
could it be that you just enjoy the necro so much that the other classes seem dull? Personally I have that with my mesmer… All the other classes I play now feel a bit ‘meh’. ^^’

I also would like something that takes a challenge to get. Things in solo-instances so no one can just run you through it. Places where you’re not allowed to die, jumping puzzles, mini-games… Either a sort of scavenger hunt or maybe put a reward to every one of them, all of them having a different objective or achievement that must be met before you get your special skin.

Sure, some challenges might be easier for some classes/builds. But if they can make quests race-specific, why not class-specific..?

I don’t think the price should go down. Tier 3 is a vanity item which is achievable to get after a period of time. I personally wear tier3 legs and top on my mesmer. I love the set either way, but it’s nice not everyone is running around in it.

The order armors can be transmuted to different characters, so leveling 3 characters to different orders will give access to all orders. I’m guessing the fact that they’re cheaper is that loads of npc’s wear the armor.

I wouldn’t even mind if the rich coffers were only on the trading post as long as the chance to get a weapon is near 100%.
I think the halloween skins were treated well, RNG, temporary weapon, craftable and trade-able…

I am wondering how high the chance is to get the weapon skins from the Rich Dragon Coffers… Is it 10%, 50%, maybe 100%..?
And will these skins be trade-able…. :/
