Showing Posts For Daysy of Ascalon.1974:
The fee should be payable if and when the item is sold, so deducted from the amount paid when the seller collects his money.
This new thing is useless. It shows 1 in the box, I change it to 10, it makes one then stops and shows 1 again.
It wasn’t broken, why was it meddled with?
A link usually found on any forum is one for Recent Posts, but I can’t seem to find one here. Having one would make reading the forum a lot more convenient, removing the need to trawl through every single section to see if something of interest has been posted.
Instead of clicking on the link with the left mouse button, use the middle one. That way the new page opens in another tab and your original page is untouched, so you can return to it at any time.
My workaround is bookmarking those threads I want to follow-up. Not efficient but that’s the best solution.
Overall this probably is the most efficient solution, because you can remove it from the bookmarks when it’s no longer required, and you’re not depending on someone else to keep track of what interests you.
This happens quite frequently. The easiest way around it is to write your post in Emacs, Notepad or any simple text editor, and then paste it to the forum.
At the end of the story chapter Unholy Grounds, I watched the film and read the text then clicked to exit the instance. As the loading screen came up, the quest rewards flashed up then disappeared. When the screen reloaded outside the instance, the rewards were not showing.
This happened with every Weak and Minor potion; my artificer can’t make others yet so I don’t know if they’re the same. The potions are meant to last 30 minutes but if I leave an overflow, die, relog, etc., the potion is gone. This does not happen with food, so the potions seem to be bugged.
This happened to me persistently not while under water but fighting harpies over the pond near the ogre village.
It would be great if we could get our guild capes back. A backpack is okay on something like an engineer but definitely wouldn’t suit my mesmer. A cape doesn’t look out of place on anyone.
There is no point, at all, in trying to craft anything unusual for profit for the TP.

It goes without saying that the Preview needs to be fixed; I can’t believe this is still broken.
The fees should also be changed so that there’s only a fee charged if the item is actually sold. If the broker isn’t doing his job and finding a buyer, why should he be paid? And no Aura it’s not a silly idea, there are games like EQ2 with a very healthy broker system where any item can be displayed for any period without cost.
It’s not just food, it’s potions too. They don’t stack or split as one would expect. Neither of those operations is impossible, just very inconvenient.
Since Day 1 I’ve had the problem that if I want to see the broker, I have to close and restart my client first, or I just get “Invalid Authorization”.
Then I have to change my UI to Normal or the text is illegible, and then set it back to Small when I’ve finished there.
All this makes buying things rather cumbersome and most of the time I feel I’d rather just wait for a drop or quest reward than have all that bother.
Game Loading Time is longer after Oct 7 patch (SSD)

I don’t mind the extra memory usage but the long loading time is a pain and seems like a step backwards.
The first few quests, which didn’t involve much fighting, gave karma to anyone who accompanied me out of curiosity about the stories. Later, when help with fighting was useful, there was no longer a karma reward.
It always happens. You have can dozens of pets but only two pet names.
Also have SSD, fast PC, zoning used to be just a few seconds but since this latest patch it takes ages.
I can’t see this as being to fight goldspammers, as they send the same mail to a lot of people, not different mail to the same person. Even one day when I got six spam mails in five minutes, each was from a different sender.
Yes it is funny and it’s not only the Veteran that does it, I’ve seen several drakes like that, rather like Spectrum games decades ago.
The suppression seems to work randomly. The goldspammers drone on and on, but normal conversation gets stopped. Trying to get people for a dungeon is not easy. If a dungeonfinder can’t be provided, perhaps there should be a LFG channel with no suppression mechanism.
She reappeared after last night’s patch. Let’s hope she stays there this time, as she seems to have a tendancy to disappear periodically.
Is she on holiday? I find her turret but can’t buy a recipe from a turret.
The Wrangler Bag recipe says that it creates a 9slot bag but when it’s crafted, even though it needs a Rune of holding, it still only has 8 slots.
Okay so just another irritating thing I have to live with Thanks for the answers and yes, it’s at the artificing table. My chef also has an unwanted second craft (the crafting masters in Ebonhawke fortress seem to be broken) and I was hoping to find a way to get rid of that too.
For some reason my artificer thinks she’s also a cook, so the discovery panel is full of everything from apples to zucchini, which don’t really make satisfactory orbs or sceptres.
How do I get rid of the second crafting ability?
The level 11 one was okay but the level 40 one is a bit much, especially with multiple characters arriving there around the same time. After looking at what I’d get on each, there was only really one character where I felt it was important, and the rest can just wait until I have the money.
It would be great if we could just have the normal setup whereby we can put any skills on any keys and obviously have them saved like that for each character. It’s particularly annoying on something like an elementalist, where for instance each element has a spell to attack the target then put some distance between me and him, but it’s on a different key for each element.
Notification of members logging in and out is definitely needed, and a line to say someone has joined would also be good.
It would also be handy to have some kind of little sound (similar to the one used for whispers) when someone says something in guild, or when a member logs in or out.
Having Represent switched on by default when someone joins the guild would also help.
Many other things like Last Online and the usual range of guild management tools (as in EQ2, for example) would be useful too, although I’d happily forgo them all if I could have my lovely Isle of Meditation guild hall moved here.
Yes please, it would be useful if the labels on asura gates on the maps were a little more specific than telling us that they’re linked to somewhere far away.
As for going AFK Lazarus, if you’re alone the only safe way is to log to character select.
I understand that the gold spam problem is being worked on but, until such time as it’s solved and we stop getting mail bombed with this spam, could we please have bigger mailboxes? At the moment the amount of spam means there’s seldom room for legitimate mail.
If there has to be a trading restriction on something, there should at least be a label to say so. It’s frustrating to buy, say, a recipe for my chef, only to find that it sprouts a “soulbound” label as soon as it’s in my inventory.
Hopefully smartloot is coming at some stage, I’ve never yet found anything in a chest that I could use.
It’s good that they gave every class DPS, so those who want to go without tanks, healers, etc., can do so, and aren’t forced to wait for support to go hunting.
It’s not good that they took away the option for the rest of us who prefer a definite rĂ´le in a group as tank, healer, bard, etc.
Oh and don’t you love when you’ve typed only 2 things in chat, and then you get the message “Your message has been suppressed due to excessive messaging…” when you’ve only said 1-2 things, and then you see someone spamming about buying/selling Gold repeatedly?
Sometimes you type only one thing and the second line is blocked with that message. Good thing we use voice or it would be really annoying trying to explain things to people.
It’s possible that those people might scam someone but we don’t know that. What we do know is that they’re definitely spamming, so that’s the appropriate report.
Having reported the same person multiple times over the last six hours, and seeing his spam still coming up, I can understand why so many have just switched off /map.
To a game where tanks can taunt and hold aggro so casters don’t get killed as soon as they attack, to a game where I’m allowed to play a support class and get experience for doing it in a group, I could definitely go back.
There should be more heart quests as, even with doing the event at each one, I still reach a point in each area where the next heart is 3 levels above me, meaning that the mobs are 4-5 levels above me. Various workaround options exist, such as grinding while watching television, going to a different race’s area, etc., but I shouldn’t have to resort to those measures.
More heart quests would be good.
Trying to have a conversation in Map chat is getting like trying to have a conversation at a football game. Gold spammers obliterate the chatbox every few minutes and no amount of reporting seems to make them go away. It’s also disappointing that the same usernames appear when reporting different character names.
Hopefully this will soon be dealt with or people will just stop using Map chat, leaving newcomers without much place to get help and advice.
There have been no overflows this evening while we’ve been playing, and we were trying to continue his quest from a point inside a major city, Rata Sum. Until now, the prompts to join each other’s instances has been, as you say, pretty reliable, but we can’t get it to work tonight.
My friend created a new asura and I accompanied him on his storyline quests with my asura until last night. When we wanted to continue this evening, I’m not getting any option to join when he enters his instances.
Is this a bug, or was this a change made to the game?
He has the spell Determined on him, which has 23 hours left. Having started this part of the quest multiple times with the same effect, it seems I need to abandon my personal storyline.
Looting, talking, picking up, resurrecting, all on one button, is a bit much. It’s bad enough that I keep ending up resurrecting someone’s pet instead of a downed player but when I erroneously start looting instead, it’s really irritating. The same applies when I’m trying to pick up something next to an NPC or trade with a jotun standing next to some items. It’s bad too that the NPCs are often too close together, sometimes literally on top of each other, so although one is clearly targeted, it’s the other with whom I interact, which is why I ended up being a weaponsmith instead of getting my armour mended.
The bank and inventory windows can’t be resized, so the interface has to be on Small, but the typeface isn’t scaled properly for the trading post, which is illegible. Presumably we’re not really expected to have to go into Options every two minutes to change interface size, so hopefully this problem will be solved soon.
