Since some of the concept art has been dwarves, I’m betting on the Deldrimor Front for the xpack

I don’t quite understand. We already had a “tutorial” with Verdant Brink and Auric Basin. Both maps introduced the ideas that TD has (Multiple layers, hidden areas, etc) so unless someone hasn’t been to those two maps (I hope they would) then of course they would have trouble.

I like TD as it is. The map is supposed to be a challenge that we overcome and TD should be a challenge to navigate until you learn the map.

To any dev/moderator, feel free to move this to wherever, I just wanted to get my feedback out there

1-Verdant Brink

This was the real reason I was excited to see the beta and play it: to experience the adventure of exploring a new map. My first thought was that is was HUGE! My favorite place is the Itzel village.

While exploring, I saw some random stuff (vines, plants, mines, etc) that were hovering above the ground. One specific area is the Wyvern Cliffs, I saw vines on the outer edges that were just there, not connected to anything.

The map is very vertical, and very big! Daylight is my favorite as I feel like I can explore more and do more, but when night comes I stay close to other players. At times I actually had to decide if I wanted to explore or stay alive at night, which was a great experience!

The enemies are smarter and hit harder, which I really like. I feel that the little mushrooms should hit a little harder, but besides that, I liked the variety of enemies.

I didn’t experience that much lag in the map, just at the beginning of the beta but was quickly gone. Some of the npcs (such as the scout you can talk to at the beginning of the map) don’t talk, but you only see their chat bubbles. I don’t know if this was just me or anything, but the npcs would say something and then stop talking while the bubble was saying stuff.

2-Masteries

I feel like the mastery system is great, and pretty decent in pace. I would say I would like a slower pace since we are getting 7 tracks.

Gliding felt wonderful, and I never glitched out/lagged while doing it.

Mushroom Jumping (Itzel lore) was my main problem. Sometimes I would use the mushrooms in Itzel village but get stuck spinning on the ground. I would have to relog to get out of the spinning. Other times the mushrooms wouldn’t get me to the area it was supposed to, and I would sometimes fall off and die. Also, are you supposed to take fall damage when you land from using a mushroom? I was taking fall damage and I think it isn’t a good idea for players to take fall damage from jumping, as it makes me not want to use them to know I might die :P

3- Revenant

I liked it with weapon-swap and the Shiro legend. I feel like the auto-attack for s/s should be a little higher. For Ventari legend, I think that it shouldn’t cost energy to move the tablet around. This is because I might be using all my skills and want to move my tablet with me, but can’t since I’m out of energy. Isn’t the point of the tablet to move it around a lot for that heal? The other 2 legends look great!

4- Elite Specs

I mostly played Reaper during the beta, and I fell in love with Reaper Shroud as well. I feel that great sword needs more dmg, mostly in auto-attack. Also, I feel like the Skill 5 on great sword should be at 900 range. A 600 range as it is right now doesn’t make me want to actually pull anything to me. The shouts and traits look great, and Reaper Shroud is very balanced and fun to play. I also played Tempest, but I felt that warhorn was underwhelming. I feel that Wildfire needs to spread faster and deal more base damage. Besides that, everything is great.

5-Events
Verdant Brink is like The Silverwastes on steroids. I like how events can be on top or below you, and escorts are fun and varied. The itzel chain was bugged, as well as the ancient ruins chain. Besides that, all the events blend well together and are fun!

Since anyone who buys HoT will have access to this mastery track, how do we know that people really want to help new members (like myself) or just use it to troll people in some way or just want the icon? Personally, I have always wanted to mentor new players but I am afraid other people might have the icon on and not help at all.

We are getting a new region (which means new maps, with THREE layers to them EACH), 2 guild halls that are huge, a new crafting profession, a new profession, new currencies, new items, stronghold, a giant WvW borderland map with new mechanics (including a fully underground keep), elite specializations (9 of them) which give us 6 new skills and a new trait line, along with a new weapon, hardcore content, masteries (which will be end game progression, and feature I believe 5-7 lines tracks?), gliding, mushroom jumping, new dynamic events, new meta events, new personal story with full instances, our toons can talk again, new music, mist champions which cannot be bought using gems, new boss fights, separate queue for stronghold, and A LOT more.

I know ALOT of people who have purchased already, and I think it is worth the price.

You really should check the website, website blogs, videos, etc before posting.

A new trait program wen into the game, CONVERTING your extra scrolls of knowledge into spirit shards. When your thief is lvl 80, it should have ALL of their skills and traits unlocked.

They have talked about this change for weeks, and therefore the majority knew about this change.

Also the new icon is fine, there is nothing wrong with it.

Please calm down. No one lost anything.

Doubt it. It’s a fact that Anet makes more money when minis are sold seperatly for 500 gems, 400, 300, etc.

I do hope maybe a mini 3-pack that is HoT themed will come!

NO SIGNETS! Unless the signets are revamped and do more active things rather than curing a condition, healing, applying condi’s, etc.

I was thinking maybe minions with those drones. But the drones disappear when the engi uses his first attack in the HoT trailer.

It’s fine. We know that the specs aren’t OP as others have said.

Thief is most likely getting rifle, and I don’t see how GS could work with thief. Aren’t they supposed to be quick and agile EVEN when playing different builds?

I love them because it is a nice break between world bosses/farming. Also, I was awful at them at launch but got better

Been farming for a portal and nothing. I spend regular amounts of money on the game, and I am on every day. Sad that this doesn’t count for anything for a beta portal

I’ve been farming SW and Dry Top all week and nothing. I’ve put in ALOT of time, and sadly nothing.

Nope. I’ve done 23 SW runs and around 7-8 hours of Dry Top and NOTHING. Some people have spent 15 minutes and got one.

Agree! It’s stopping me from getting the full lum armor.

ALSO: The human male models do look mainly. I have an engi who looks amazing and rough). Maybe experiment with the different hair/facial/eye options?

Thief-has lots of teleports and stealth (so you don’t slow down if an enemy hits you).

It’s worth it, it’s ALOT cheaper. Though, maybe the new legendaries will have some cool skins! I suggest saving the mats until you decide.

I wish people realized it is the amount and quality of what you have played rather than AP! Your “friend” doesn’t know the percent, and its fine to watch the cut scenes!

I’ve been with my engi since the beginning of Gw2-and I love engis. I never get bored switching builds and kits.

I thought it was pretty good on it’s own. The cuteness of it saved it. Compared to the moose though, it’s pretty disappointing

I hope it comes out in the summer :P

Yes, my hype is burning out. They information they gave given so far is sorta deprived and only a little of everything. I rather wait to get a whole explanation instead of a sample, such as the revenant. I wanted to know more about the traits, but I realize it isn’t done yet.

I think it’s fun, and makes GREAT screenshots of running around! About the timing, yes it IS bad timing, but Anet didn’t know about the crashes.

Here is a list of stuff that had come into the game!
- 2 Feature packs covering all kinds of stuff, to help make the game easier and returning players! This includes new UI, new missions, etc
- Living World (LW) Season 2. We are fighting mordremoth ( probably didn’t spell it right). 8 episodes were released from July-January. 2 new zones and various other rewards were introduced. These 2 new zones are Dry Top and The Silverwastes.
-We’re getting an expansion! Heart of Thorns! Better check the website for more information, but we’re getting new areas and a new class and much more!
-Scarlet (SPOILER ALERT) died. Lion’s Arch is in ruin.
-Various other little tweaks and such. I’m positive I’m forgetting things, but these are the biggest. I hope others chip in and add

Well, why worry? Worrying isn’t going to make anything happen. How about we wait until they announce everything.

Since I hate how clunky norn is, I already have a char, an asura, and a human, I think I’m going Sylvari. I am probably gonna go t3 cultural armor because it looks so fancy. I already made my toon, and he is in the theme of black and red, just like the concept art

Exploration first because hang gliding, then lore mastery! I LOVE meeting new civilizations.

I would like to see:
- early beta key
-exclusive glider skin
-A concept art book
-A special mini (something jungly)
-An armor skin or outfit for the jungle (maybe even the jungle explorer outfit)
-3 day head start (maybe?)
-A jungle tonic of some sort
- HoT of course :P
-CD of music from HoT, not base game
- HoT mailer (what if a vine gave you mail!?!?!)
- Some tomes for the new profession(maybe?)
- NO CONSUMABLES like the chalice!
Mostly cosmetic stuff as I do like cosmetics I love decking my engi out! I would easily pay 60-200 bucks for a good CE!

This is a great idea! The reason why is because the political and social structure of the five races and how know, it could really be “four” has always been neat because they all interact with each other differently.

About LA. I could see LA becoming a camp due to it already being a wreck. I could picture barb wire and dark skies.

The issue I feel with this idea is that it does feel like it has a WW2 vibe, and I know that is very sensitive to some people.

[MESS] will be holding an entire marathon day exploring Dry Top! This is purely to have fun, get some geodes, and more!

What…is this….“event”?
[MESS] is going to try and gather up tons of people to do events, explore the map, do jps, and more! We thought “Why let The SilverWastes have all the players!”

When is this event?
Feburary 21st, 2015 from 9 am-7pm Central time. This is a Saturday.

Is it ok to come in and out of the map/events?
Yes! Stay and leave as much as you like!

Any Fun guild stuff going to happen?
We’re going to have FULL banquets, banners, parties, and more! We will have givaways too! We’ll be giving away minis and tonics!

On Feburary 21st, just message me (DoIKnowYou) in-game for a taxi. Feel free to bring friends and guildies along. NOTE: We’re not gonna do a zerg-run but rather have several tags up to indicate events, so you can pick and choose We’ll also try as hard as we can to get a T5+ map every time.

Well, there are, at least they said this at Pax, 3 biomes AND the roots (underground), the surface, and then the Canopy for Maguuma. We don’t know whether this will go for all the new maps we’re getting or not.

Another possibility is a giant map which covers all of Maguuma which is HIGHLY unlikely.

Well, I hope Anet does the “special” edition expansion pack thing where you can bonus stuff. I’ll gladly pay 60-100 bucks for a good xpack/special edition of xpack

Male Human Engi (my main) Been with him since the beginning and there is NO way I am gonna make another one and ignore my engi 100% map completion and plan to do all the masteries

Hello all!
MESS is doing a fun map completion event! MESS is located in ET, and we will be mapping the Shiverpeak Mountains.

We will be starting in Hoelbrak, and make our way to the other zones. We suggest being level 70-80 due to also doing frostgorge sound.

This event will start at 7pm central time, but it would be best to get there about 20 minutes early. Any waypoint will be fine in Hoelbrak!

Also, we will be doing living story events, and will do Jormag!!!

Please note that this is just exploration. This is great for people wanting Wp’s, POI’s, and a few vistas here and there. But mostly it is about getting waypoints and POI’s! No hearts sadly.

This event will go until everyone is either asleep or needs to go. We will have contests for prizes such as, but not limited to, Teq mini, Ho Ho tron mini, infinite tonics, armor, weapons, t5-t6 materials, and more!

This event is super fun, and I hope to see people there!

Yeah so I am prancing around with my buddy, the Holographic Knight. he’s slow but fun.
And then out comes a zombie. So, I do what I normally do which it place my rifle turrets, healing turret, and flame turret on the ground. Then I get my shotgun out, and BAM! I shot him. But then he started to attack me and I saw a number…. I did 4 damage with my level 15 shotgun. While over to the right of me, my foofy rifle turret is doing 24 damage! It’s depressing. My own creation is doing MORE damage then myself. So I die. And repeat. And die. And repeat. And soon I’m 3/4 naked. No armor. No anything(expect for bite marks).

Yeah so I attened the Turret Fan club at Queensdale. All these engineers were talking. Drinking. Talking. Then we begin. And so I asked them “Why does my turret do far more damage than myself?” And they stare at me. “Well, we don’t battle, we tag a friend and just like yeah, let them do the work” I stare. Then this small Asura engineer just like starts to talk like a 16 girl! Like shes 45, and has the nerve to talk to me like that. “Yeah, you know, I’m pretty lazy. And you know, I sorta like hate life. And my turrets hate me. And they shoot me instead of the thing that’s destroying them, so yeah.” I then got out my flame turret and burned the place to ground.

I got a mini pack! I LOVE minis! OMG there amazing! I LOVE them! They are adorable! ADORABLE! I was in PvP and this freaking kid told me I am obsessed with minis. So I whispered into my backpack. And brought out the Aveminis! That team includes The Fire imp, ice spider, and the three Bazaar of the four winds minis! The kid them laughs. So I shoot him. End of story.

Yeah, I sorta accidental sold all my minis. I have been in depression for 4 hours.. I wrote my will.

Ok well defense is turrents which deals damage against foes while exlisers heal people.
Yes you can be a damage dealer and stuff but being a tank or defense is not a sidekick!!!!!!

I somewhat agree but all of are weapons are not very good damage.
I do agree that we should do good damage but I THINK IT WOULD BE BEST as a heal/tank.

Ok so u know how we can’t deal a ton of damage right?
Well is was thinking even though gw2 says no tank,healer,damage dealer I think this class was meant to defend(turrents) and heal( turrents, exlisers).
I just bought this game and I am a engineer so what I just noticed I think we can deal damage but we really were meant to defend and heal.
What you guys think?
