I’ve been gone for 3 years and recently returned and I was wondering what was the best way to get Karma now a days?
I think the prices for some items should be reduced as well. Especially the harvesting tools. Having them soulbound onto one character is what keeps me from buying them. I have 6 characters, 5 of which are level 80 and I use them all. If they were cheaper or not soulbound I will gladly buy some of them. Until then I will use my gems for town clothing or mini pets :P
I need answers about this issue as well.
As long as I can get something in return for my current MF gear I will have no problem with this change.
It would be better to remove it than to nerf it to the ground and make it useless. I understand why they nerfed the order of whisper kits because people could use them over and over without a cooldown. However the rest of these things I don’t see a real good reason to make them this useless.
I noticed today that I couldn’t use my “Healing Seed Pod”, “Mortar Seed Turrent” or my "Depleted Power Crystal in a dungeon today. I was able to use those in the open world however. I wonder if the oger pet whistle and other items no longer work in dungeons anymore. I also noticed that some other consumables are no longer working as they did before. All the “Offereing” (Snow Leopard, Bear, Wolf, Raven) foods are now taking the place of a nourishment item and can only use one a time now. The same thing is happening with the Scale Venom with it replacing a nourishment spot.
However I was just wondering why so much hate on the Consumable’s? Some of them are actually quite useful even after they got nerfed last month (Cooldown’s added and such).

I’m a little confused by the commendation system. We can only get 2 commendations from each guild mission type per week? That means each week a guild will only do 1 of each mission type? This is very difficult if we do not share schedules or we are not organized…
Also, how does the 1week timer work? Does it reset on monday or do I have to memorize when I slay a bounty?

I’m in a small guild as well and we don’t have AoW unlocked either as we focus more on the PvE aspects of the game. Knowing that AoW is required will be a huge let down to my guild. Anet should really reconsider making an entirely new tree or moving the tier down some for the requirement (at the very least for the starter guild missions).
Art of War Level 5 is being built which is needed for the guild bounty missions coming out Feb 26.

My guild and I try and do a balance of PvE (Dungeons, Map completion, Fractals) and we do our share of PvP (sPvP, tPvP and WvW). So I tend to organize groups to touch base with every aspect of the PvE and PvP realm.
I do my daily every day, I also try and do my monthly.
I only have 4 level 80’s atm.
I’m wondering as well if the next update (January 28) will add the fractals leveling where a group starts the fractal at level 8 but there is one person that is fractals level 1 so it doesn’t scale the group down to level 1 it keeps it at 8 and everyone one in the group goes up one level. If anyone finds out please let me know
Did you not read the post they made on the main page? If a level one joins a level 8 in fractals the group can choose any level up to 8. The level 1 will level up to 2 when completed and the level 8 people will get some karma.

Player 2 makes the party and sets the fractal level to 21, and the party goes on to beat three fractals. Here are the fractal-level results after the run:
Player 1 (fractal level 3)
Player 2 (fractal level 22)
Player 3 (fractal level 22)
Player 4 (fractal level 22)
Player 5 (still fractal level 53, but gains karma for helping)
The level 53 gets the Karma since hes over the fractal level. While everyone set to level 21 and below level up.

I think the multi guild system needs to go. It was great the way it was in GW1 and it allowed for GvG to be meaningful. It creates loyalty and bonding as a group.
However at the moment guilds don’t seem important at all compared to GW1. It GW1 you had a guild hall, with its own vendors, a physical place to talk, hang out, have meetings. Then there was GvG which was AMAZING.
Here in GW2, being in a guild just gets you another chat window and a way to gain influence to get some buffs.
Bottom line remove the multi guild system and add better features for guilds to make them more important, Guild Halls, GvG, etc (All the good from GW1)

I’m sure this has been mentioned before but I believe that the issue with drops is a broken DR system. It either gets stuck, bugged, or its just broken all together. I have heard some people say they need to go to FoTM to unstick the DR. So I think if you want to really look into the drop rate problem look into DR because when it was implemented is when drops really started to get all buggy.
I don’t think people who never played GW1, or never got into GW1 because there was no jumping shouldn’t be commenting on GvG. The complexity and coordination of GvG cannot be found in GW2, and I don’t expect people who never experienced it to understand. It’s like a person who knows nothing about chess watching a game and saying, “I don’t understand, that looks like the same thing as checkers to me, why are you all complaining?”
I totally agree with this. I’m seeing a lot “we have 5v5 that sounds like it” GvG was so much more than what we have now with the tPvP. If anyone over at anet ever played GW1 then you know what we are talking about.
I hope it is brought into the game. I know if it was my guild and I would be doing a lot more PvP.
GvG is a must in my opinion. I really miss the days of really competitive matches of GvG in GW1 and would love to see something like that here. I don’t need to explain why GvG was so amazing in GW1 those of who played there know why. It also what made Guild wars well, “Guild War” wars against guilds. This game is not called “World Wars” Or “Server Wars” cause thats what WvWvW is. It should be guilds battling it in teams of 8v8 not guilds of 500 leading zergs.
I hope they realize that GvG is something that should be put into place.
I also think we need player housing, at least something similar to hall of monuments where you can bring party members with you to show off your stuff. However all we can do is hope.
I am very pleased with the game so far and I hope Anet keeps up the good work and also keep listening to the community. If the players are happy you will continue to get money with further expansions in the future.
I’m in favor of having GvG the way it was in GW1. I don’t think WvWvW is a replacement for GvG at all. I don’t think tPvP is a replacement for GvG either. It’s just my two cents and I am sure plenty will agree or disagree.
Guild Halls and GvG. To me GvG is what Guild Wars is, battles among guilds and without it is just silly to me. It is something I think that must be in the game in the future.
I don’t have concrete data because I didn’t think I needed to run a video of one cursed shore event to prove I was getting 3-8 rares per event (Penitent and Shelters events to be specific). However before Nov 15, Lost shores update I use to get 3-8 rares per event in cursed shores. After Nov 15, I would get 1 rare per every 4 events. Now the strange thing is on different days the drops seem to change either get worse or better. Recently (the past week) I get about 1 rare for ever 2 events. This is still very far off from pre Nov 15 drop rates.
I do wonder though that maybe DR gets stuck and doesn’t reset until there is a new patch. It also seems like that everyone has there own personal drop rate at times. I might be farming with someone that gets 2 rares per event while everyone else in the party is getting 1 per 3 events. We would ask about MF% and we are all relatively in the same range maybe off by 1-10%.
All I know is that this is perceived, I perceived that something changed drastically with either the drop rates or DR.
I hope something gets fixed eventually. Thank you at least for finally acknowledging the fact that the players were complaining about something that was over 20 pages long a while back and wanting to hear us out after weeks of being ignored.

So yeah, they’re not sleeping, not on vacation or anything else; but basically ignoring this.
- I always hated MMO’s for being grindy. I have always been single player gaming guy and never played another MMO.
- GW2 gets advertised as non-grindy game. I read a lot about it and user reviews during BWE’s and buy the game.
- I play a couple of BWE’s and feel happy about my decision to buy.
- Game goes live and I start playing. Eventually I start reading about legendaries and find them quite attractive.
- Quite a lot of the players already started running around with a ton of gold and legendaries before the game was even a month old. Good for them, I feel a bit motivated to get one.
- Someone rants how a casual can’t have a legendary and they’ll always suck and should stick to lower end of the game. I get irritated and make getting a legendary my primary goal in the game.
- Nerfs inbound. They fixed Karma weapon exploit while people who exploited got their accounts back and no items actually taken from them. Godskull weapon exploit fixed, and people already benefited with the exploit are let go.
- DR inbound. Bots are still active and since they don’t really live, breath, go to work/school and spend their precious time on gaming it hardly affects them; meanwhile genuine players farming hit DR and get lesser rewards.
- More nerfs inbound along with bugged one-time events and pointless new content, with precursors given away to the lucky few who made it through the end of the whole event while many disconnected/couldn’t join the event due to first 2 phases being laggy and buggy and being unfortunate to be born and live in a different timezone.
- Dyes drop like porous bones, and they suddenly nerf it before any casual player noticed it, while hardcore players farmed them like crazy making ton of gold in the current market.
- Patch that’s supposed to improve loot in open world, infact decreases the rate to a pathetic level and new patches don’t help this issue either.
GW2 was basically promoted as the game that players can play the way they want, with no grind, and primarily a casual player-oriented game.
Play the way you want: You can’t – farm same events/same dungeons, request anything on forums, or raise your voice.
No grind – Exotic gear – grind; legendary weapon – let’s not talk about it even; dungeon gear – grind; ascended gear – grind; monthly achievements – grind
Casual friendly: Avg play time of casual player :- 3-4hrs a day (zero drops in that playtime); Avg play time of hardcore players:- practically whole day except when they don’t eat/sleep/take dumps etc (more gold made in a day than casual player)

Maybe there ignoring us in the hopes we’ll just go away, i posted in this thread almost a week ago and earlier today, looks im gonna try the refund route and spend my pennies on something else, so yeah the plan works, looking for a refund now -1 to Anet
They might make us go away alright. However I doubt it’s the way they intended.
Maybe I’m just lucky…. but I’m getting all different kinds of rares and exotics.
Fractals and dungeon reward chests especially.

No drops = no joy.
I have seen them teleport from one node then to another node a few feet away and poof. Not across the map to a WP then walking to a node. Literally vanish and then appear at a different node.
The Packheart and Penitent events in cursed shore seem to be broken. Starting with the Packheart event, without it the gates at Penitent can’t be repaired so Penitent won’t start because of it.
Problem still present in latest build.
I don’t think it will be fixed at a later date either :/. I’m starting to lose faith in Anet’s ability to communicate with the community with issues at hand.
This is NOT about stupid champions people… it is the OVERALL DROP RATE if you ever farmed cursed shore events thats where it shines the most. Lost of NORMAL MOBS you farm get multiple rares per event now you get 1 maybe in 3 events.
I get your point, but I would give my eye teeth for a rare every 10 events. As it sits now I got one, count them ONE rare for over 25 hours of play. Even excluding the champs that is a VERY poor drop rate. ANet, I already have a full time job, I’m not looking for another.
This is exactly what I am going through here.
Same with me. This bug or whatever you may call it ( I really wish it is a bug ..) is making me not want to play. Believe it or not I actually enjoyed doing the events in Cursed Shore quite a lot – especially when you were rewarded with a lot of rares. Now all I’m getting is those stupid bones which make me go nuts.
I have just been doing WvWvW and dungeons since the drops have been terrible. However I have been playing much less as well because of it. If the PvE zones keep losing people to Fractals when new players come (or even old players that took a break) and they don’t see anyone around it’s going to look bad.
Bottom line drops need to be examined in all areas of the game. Non existent loot = Non existent me.
