sPvP Rank Dragon – 8 Champ Titles – Ruby Division
I think adding a checklist for hard to remember things is nice. Especially with map completion!
Since Clockwork Chaos update when i try to do an invasion my game crash, last time just when we finish and no rewards for me and it’s really frustrating.
I can’t do living story because i can’t do invasions when before that update game never crashed for me playing pve.
I am like some, in the fact I was excited to have solo queue. I did want solo queue and still do, but quite frankly it has completely turned me off from sPVP. I am so annoyed about the amount of 4v5, even 3v5, starts I have been in.
I am not one of the players who was bashing sPVP before leaderboards and or any of the other additions. I enjoy sPVP for what it is; 5v5 capture and hold an area style of play. I come from a first person shooter background and timed competition is at the heart of those kind of games.
Now, when I think about playing sPVP solo Q, well now I don’t even want to bother. I use to play tournaments fairly regularly. I think I had over 250 tourney matches in before the new queues. Now I have to reestablish myself for solo, and it is completely jacked up. It seems more than 40% of the games I have tried to solo Q start with my team having less than 5 people. So basically, I have lost at least 40% of my matches before the game even starts.
Trolls are going to troll, but it just seems that this issue is not being taken seriously enough yet. I am that player A-Net wants in sPVP. I want to play it without some kind of special incentive. I could give a crud less about not having anything to spend glory on. I want to convince people to play with me because the game type is actually about playing a defined game… Now, hell I have cut back on even loading the game for anything. The thing I enjoyed the most is being ruined by people who don’t like it and A-Net, whether you like hearing it or not, you are giving these people a free pass and those trolls are pushing people away from the game.
Enough ranting and now I offer my two cents on possible things to help. A-Net, you will never be able to stop someone from shutting down the game, so don’t even bother with that idea (if you were.)
1. Instant solo and hot join lockout if you leave a game you were queued for. If a person’s client “crashes” for legitimate or artificial reasons, only allow a box to re-enter queued game. If someone clicks to join any other queue, tourney or hot, then they are greeted with a box of some type informing them that can not join any other game for XX amount of time. The time period should be enough to deter trolls, perhaps the full time length of a tourney map.
2. If teams are in the server during the pre-game countdown, and BOTH teams do not have 5 people at the end of the pre-game countdown, have the server restart the pre-game time clock and instantly go and grab a solo queued player. The game does not start until both teams have five players.
Please A-Net, do something quick about this. I want to play but the enjoyment I had is almost completely gone, and I don’t care how many rewards you throw at me to come back. If this kind of problem is not dealt with more urgency, then this will be one more player who will stop casually even trying to play the game I enjoyed from the beginning… Not trying to make any type of threat, just being 100% honest and hopefully someone who can help will not dismiss this post as another trolling post.
What I like about the new version:
What I do not like:
Changes I would like to see implemented, in order of magnitude:
If I am factually wrong on any of those points, please let me know. Otherwise I am looking forward to your opinions.
Have a nice day.
Please disable Glory in Solo Q and give the loser 75 glory and winner 150. there is absolutely 0 resason to have it on during the match and just has hotjoin heroes playing their same zerg gameplay.
If I hear “you suck I got top stat” one more time when we lose I’ll throw something.
Hi everybody,
Today we made adjustments to karma where the amount of karma granted from consumable karma items was increased and karma boosts no longer affected the amount of karma gained from consumable items.
We intended to message this change ahead of time to be fair to everyone, however this did not happen, and we apologize for not giving you advance notice.
The lack of advance warning resulted in some people losing out on karma that they would have otherwise gained by using boosts with the karma they’d saved up.
We will be temporarily rolling back the karma change in a hotfix to allow people the opportunity to turn in their karma with any buffs they intended to use. This temporary rollback will be in effect until the game update on September 3.
We will also be reimbursing the people who used their karma during the period when the initial change was in effect with as close to the correct amount of karma as possible.
We’re really sorry about the frustration this caused and we will make every effort in the future to make you aware of changes like this ahead of time.
The only information the three dots give is the amount of illusions you have up, irregardless of whether they are phantasms or regular clones. Personally, I think it would be nice if the color of the dots was adjusted to indicate a phantasm or a clone, and maybe overlay a weapon icon to indicate the mainhand the illusion is wielding (or maybe what weapon the illusion was summoned with).
Hello,
I believe that the current SoloQ system is broken, for quite a lot of reason. This post is about ideas to improve it. This is not about gameplay or the current meta.
I’ll try to list my idea, starting from the one that requires really few changes to the system.
The last idea is probably the more “complex”, and could lead to problem with queuing, but its worth mentioning to have feedback about it.
Add a way for people to check for role they can fulfill: point holder, roamer, damage dealer, condition dealer.
It could allow for more balanced team setup. What do you think?
PS: Also, please remove SkyHammer !
I’ve watched a few times. Really like the idea! It’s fun to see some new faces and I’ve seen very helpful players stream.
You won’t see legendary armor any time soon, you will see Ascended Armor in 2013 for sure though, yes.
plz just nerf duelist or buff gs ranger. But something is wrong when every mes is using this weapon.
No and no. Ranger is one of the best dueling classes out there and possibly the most OP class in the game aside from necros. If you as a ranger cant figure out how to beat a mesmer 1v1 then its on you. Mesmers are in need of massive buffs to be viable again. We were the only class nowhere to be seen in PAX should be a huge hint hint to the state of this class
Alright, after more people posted that they were having this same issue, I checked in with the team and they let me know that there is a bug causing Temple to pop more than other maps.
Our programmers have already found a fix for it, we just need to get it tested and it should be out soon.
Appreciate those of you that remained constructive.
Oh dear lord, you are NOT pretending that all you said was a single reference to a specific type of amphibian. That is not even close to the truth. Now, either you’re experiencing selective memory loss or you think it’s ok to use seven(7!) expletives in three lines of chat.
Oh, and let’s not forget that you also told people to file false reports against other players to try to drive them off the server. Do not worry about what someone else is reporting — if they even are doing that — worry about what you are doing, because it’s seriously wrong.
You received a short suspension. I suggest you use your time-out to think long and hard about what you did and how you can better show respect to other players in the future. We want you to be a member of our community, but please be more considerate in the future.

To all of you complaining about q sync
Yesterday my brother and i who play pvp on a regular basis tried to q sync several times at around 1 o’clock in the morning
Since we sit next to each other it should have been quite easy for us
It didn’t work three or four times then it worked one time but we were in different teams
SO: guys please stop complaining it’s all just luck
Anet: Very good job on this behalf
I have to say it sounds extremely annoying
Name: Copper-fed Salvage-o-matic.
Cost: 800 gems
It costs 3 copper per salvage with 10% chance to recover rares and 20% to recover upgrades (i.e. same as a basic salvage kit). The basic salvage kit comes down to 3.52 copper per salvage so this one is 0.52 copper cheaper per salvage. This is assuming you buy them for coins. Basic salvage kit can also be purchased with karma (77 karma each)
Also comes with sound effects of a golem talking when you salvage things.

Devon, we should say bye bye to you, cause in 11 months nothing has changed.
When I’ve been working on WvW for 11 months, then we’ll talk. I’ve been here for 5, so I still have 6 more before you boot me for someone else. Also, the orb mechanic is coming back.
Devon,
A few questions/suggestions hopefully you can chime in on.
1. Any news/updates on making winning the match up more rewarding? There is very little fanfare or even acknowledgement that your server won. The passives are ok I guess, but at the end of the day it just feels hollow.
2. WvW Abilities – All in all I have to admit, they are just boring. Passives blah, some of the siege abilities are ok. I know you have to be careful with balance… but I would really like to see more creativity here.
3. Any chance of getting WvW Rank locked unique skins? Maybe an Aura around you? Something/anything unique to WvW to show off??? ( Same for SPVP, but thats a different topic)
4. Guild Claiming really needs to mean more. Defending in general needs to mean more.
5. I honestly think with the modest size of your maps and how many people are crammed into them. The waypoints upgrades should be removed.
6. Commander System – That is all the needs to be said.
7. How about DAOC style killspam? Just throwing that out there. I know a lot of people that loved it. At the end of the day we all want to be the hero!
Ok this is turning into a wall of text so I’ll stop here.
1) There should be some movement on this in the very near future. And that version will not be the final version either, but we wanted to make some changes quickly.
2) We will continue to work on these abilities in the hopes of making them more fun and providing more variety. We are however quite set on not adding power creep, at least not much, which makes them fairly constrained. We have yet to unleash our craziest ideas.
3)That is not something I had thought of, but I think it’s a good idea and I’ll at least start the ball rolling. Skins take forever and a day to be made though, so it won’t be for months if we do it at all.
4) We will update guild claiming in the future, but there are other tasks we are focused on at the moment. It’s also something that we want to do a very serious overhaul to, so it isn’t something that can happen in bits an pieces.
5) I agree and we will likely remove them at some point in the future. However, to do so requires additional work because of the complexities of the upgrade system. It’s not as simple to do as it should be. But we have to work with the tools we have.
6) We are in the process of figuring out just what we’ll need to do to the commander system to make it what it should be. Much like guild claiming it is not a small overhaul though and it won’t be in place for quite some time.
7) It is on our list of things to do, but it is not going to happen until we’ve handled some other, more serious things. Like the commander system. While I certainly wish I had a legion of designers and programmers at my disposal, we have a finite amount of resources to be put to work and we have to prioritize them according to what is necessary for the game. Sometimes that means doing things that have seemingly little impact to y’all, but eventually pay dividends in other ways.
Hope that is informative.
It’s a sad joke.
Good luck to SYNC, CC don’t deserve to go to final with their despicable behavior.
I won’t watch the PAX final.
+1
CC should be also disqualified for the behaviour of some of their members the day after the finals.
honestly ArenaNet big fail on your part, TP or as it is now Team Curse is by far the best team on EU, I enjoyed every match of them and now they are not THERE, its a bunch of bull kitten….there goes my interest on PAX and Im sure many players will follow.
kind regards
Darkdanjal
hmmmm… I wonder why it seems simple enough to add them.
SoloQ has been quite a huge success, thanks for listening to the community ANet. If you read the forums, you’ll realize that many people are having some reservations about syncQ, however I think there is another issue to bring to the table.
Although player skill does have a say in a match outcome, GW2 tPvP is heavily dependent on teamwork, strategy and making the right decision at the right time. Because of this, one player by himself cannot carry a team to a win or loss, especially when facing equally skilled players. For this reason, winning or losing is all based on chance, depending on the ability of your randomly assigned teammates and the inability of your randomly assigned opponents. Even if you are the best player in your team and trashing your opponents on your point, if the remaining four teammates are not doing their job on the other points, with the current leaderboard system you don’t get any reward for your effort, because climbing the leaderboard is only concerned with the team winning or losing the match. I think it is crucial for the SoloQ leaderboards to encourage and award good play from skilled players that end up in the losing team. Rather than getting heavily down ranked when losing, these players should be awarded for their effort they put into trying to win the game.
In an ideal world, player performance is assessed individually and given points accordingly, however this is very difficult to achieve in a fair and systematic way. So I had another idea. What if the leaderboard for SoloQ assigns your ranking according to your winning or losing margin? So, if you win a game you get the normal (current system) rating, depending on your opponent leaderboard rankings. However, if you lose a game, you get your rating deducted depending on the margin by which you lose the game. So if you lose by 50 points, your rating goes less down than when you lose by 200 points. I think this system will encourage people to play better, and rewards situations where good players are actually able to win capture points and fights by themselves but their efforts aren’t enough for their team to win. I’m not sure if this idea is already implemented in the formula of the current leaderboard system, however if its not, then it might be a good idea to consider.
Thanks for the feedback everyone and please keep it coming. Personally, I find that one of the hardest parts of being a desginer on GW2 Live is coming to terms with the fact that not every update will please every player. We do our best to deliver appealing content with enough variety to keep as many people as satisfied as possible. And If there’s one thing we can do consistently, it’s improving the experience of said content each time. I think we made some great strides with the Jubilee. I think we have a lot of room to keep growing. But our team isn’t done yet. We’ve got some exciting things coming later this month. Things you’ve never seen in this game before.
But in the mean time, please keep telling us what you’re thinking. We are listening. Not only to what you’re saying but also to what you’re not. The very first living world team actually did the thing some of you have called for. Some 40 or so permanent events were added around the game in our very first content update. They were met with little interest or fanfare. Granted, Halloween may have stolen the show. But those events are still in the game today. I’ve seen very little reaction to them, however, positive or negative. Despite this, there are many events I would still like to add. Many zones and bosses I would love to revisit. As we get better at the living world, I strongly suspect we’ll have room to get around to them as well. Assuming that’s what our players really want. You are all the second half of the collaborative process, so thanks for helping!
I think 3 would be a more reasonable amount
They are not yet in PVP. Figures.
