If you having that much trouble then just pick a Guard or Ele or even Herald to provide some decent supports on her.
This is my personal imo but i think Necro aka Scourge will go really well with your gf due to barrier and massive condi cleanse.
None of us know how the meta will change until atleast half or a month after PoF released so im rather not put any cmt on the pros and cons right now.
1. If you only do solo PvE and a bit of WvW then pick Rev, Regenade has some very potential kiting that quite useful when alone due to high atk speed and able to cast while moving.
2. If you do PvE but planning on doing alot of WvW and Raid/Frac then pick Guard.
The bad thing is both Firebrand and Regenade are lack of movement skill so mount are essential, although we can’t use mount in WvW….just yet.
Keep in mind that with PoF elite specs its not an upgrade in power but a choice, you can choose either HoT specs or PoF specs, each one has it own benefit. For example Warrior with HoT specs Berserker is a melee condi dps specs focus on PvE while PoF specs Spellbreaker is more like a PvP/WvW specs.
Guardian remain very powerful in most contents, HoT specs DragonHunter has very high raw power DPS while we don’t have much infomation on Firebrand can do in PvE but from the stresstest Firebrand too are pretty powerful but act as a condi specs. I think you should stick with Guard.
Warrior atm are in a bad spot because meta force you into condi play for high personal dps while providing some solid support like Might and Banners. But warrior remain very easy and friendly class for newcomers, also power build still doing very well but in raid they refer condi.
Ranger in HoT are a healer/semi-condi dps class, they do have alot of useful buffs and solid personal DPS but they are ranged class ( althou you mostly fight in melee using ranged weapon which kinda weird if you like pure melee class ). But PoF specs soulbeast is really something like wild version of Warrior, altho we don’t know how well it can be in PvE but atleast the idea of wild warrior are really really fun to me.
Thief is a melee dps specs good in both condi and raw power build but only HoT specs can do that, they are martial art fighter rely a lot on dodge timing, ping to do well, Daredevil has very high personal DPS, if you have bad ping just don’t play this class otherwise its a fun class to play with.
Revenant its true that this class is a melee type but you shoudn’t play rev atm cuz its a mess, it really hard to say, you should vist rev’s subforum for more details.
Tried to swim to Southsun Cove only to find out there is a portal in LA….
You are right, with PoF we can now select between 2 elite specs as how we like it, but only 1 of 2 elite specs at a time not both.
Don’t worry too much about skill points tho, im 100% sure there will be alot of HP train in PoF.
To some degree, you actually answered your own question.
However, Spellbreaker is not a PvE specs based on what we know about it until now and Soulbeast may or may not be a good power specs, i’m sure its going to be condi anyway.
There are some achievements that give you asc like leystone armor collection, LW SS2 ep 4 – 8 ’s achievements, Caladbolg literally give you a free asc weapon, Elite specs weapon collection is also a good way to get asc weapon and with PoF mean more elite specs weapon.
Whatever you do, try to get the daily craft materials done per day and medium are the most expensive among 3 set ( Light Heavy Medium ). If you are going to craft both set it will cost you no less than 1.000 gold unless you are lucky with your drop.
Nade kit was nerfed to 900 range long time ago, but to some degree the lazy flamethrower is the new lootstick on engi now.
I respect your passion mate. +1
The condi damg overall is good and fun to play with real ranged weapon, the life steal kinda OP i think it will get nerf soon.
Don’t get your hope up yet, i agreed Firebrand is fun but the burn stack is insane enough to make it the first specs get nerf in near future.
Here you go : http://gw2style.com/index.php
I think in your case that is impossible, The Shimmering Staff required a Guild Pilar which mean during the crafting process you will lose the Guild Pilar and if your staff is soulbound to any characters doenst have 450 crafting then i think the game won’t allow it.
I never have this kind of situation before so prove me wrong ?
First of all, welcome back.
Stick with your necro, with PoF coming all necro community have very high hope on the new elite specs scourge because they bring barriers. Both necro and ranger are enjoyable in end game, for WvW those 2 are the most popular, Necro for large scale fight, and ranger for roaming or small scale fight. Pick either but i would recommend Necro because they nearly unkillable in open world content.
For crafting, sooner or later you have to get them all maxed ( which mean 500 )
Visit this site for more guide : http://gw2crafts.net/
if you are playing light armor class like necro, ele, mesmer then pick tailoring and artificing first and the rest later, if you play medium class like ranger, thief, engi then pick Leatherwork and Huntsman first.
Don’t bother getting the crafting license, and since your are a big fan of gathering then go ahead and buy those gathering tools on TP, they worth more than anything. If you have extra gem to spend then go with some bank slot and bag slot and finally dont lose your soul to fashion wars.
Yeah, keep it up, you just took away necro most useful and powerful trait for 5 years. Great job.
I would go with Firebrand since i love battlemage playstyle too, with mount i can finally get rid of the sluggish guard. But my top specs would be Weaver, don’t know about you guys tho, since we have many heavy armor looking costumes it would be cool if weaver wearing plate costume.
Assuming you already have light asc set then the answer is none.
Tempest might have good AoE but surviving is a completely different matter so in term of easy then no, but powerful then yes.
Mes would be the same but less powerful among 3 light class because they are strong in supporting and tanking.
If your asking in general then war and guard, war also just got some heavy loss from this balance patch, guard loot stick was taken away but scepter is still a good choice for power build.
Overall i think guard is nice.
For me personally no class suit me anymore, i have very high hope in the next exp so i guess i will take a break and come back when PoF released.
(edited by Eros.6801)
For general open world PvE i alway use this build,
This is my personal build and only for solo questing/open world PvE play BUT if you plan on doing dungeon or else where beside open world please do not use this build because you will get kicked
This build offer you very high personal critital chance and HP and also because reflection on mesmer scale with precision.
- Replace Domination with Inspiration and use focus if you need more reflect
- Replace Blink with any skill you like depend on what situation you are in
- I did countless HP solo run and champ with this build
- You can freely use shatter without fearing phantasm/clones on cd.
- With the very same set/stat and abit of adjusment to the build/runes/sigils and your mesmer can also do a great job in WvW roaming.
Hello
I’m currently planning on bring my ranger to WvW, im already have a necro/reaper and a guard fully geared for WvW but i looking for something new, so my questions are :
1. Which is better in Zerg vs Zerg, large scale fight condi or power ?
2. Which is better in small scale fight like 5v5 or 10v10, condi or power ?
3. If so which stat of choice and build is better in large scale/small scale ?
I already tried glass cannon with full zerk but i believe this one is mostly for roaming and i don’t do much of roaming nowadays. The damg is awesome but In zerg i melt like in 2s and shame of my uslessness.
I’m just looking for any advice and a better build to enjoy my ranger in WvW.
(edited by Eros.6801)
- 1st place – PS Warrior or PS Condi Warrior, if you can effort condi then play with PS burn war + Banner, you still having great group support while providing around 27k DPS.
- 2nd place – Guard, nothing to say much about this guys, he is versatile in many way but the the power build nerf patch hurt him quite alot.
- Last – Rev, its true that elite specs can provide many perma type of boons but other 2 can do as well, although rev do have a healing build and we have best raw heal in the game the downside is if you play this build you will lose all your dps.
In WvW group play.
- 1st place – Rev, well this kinda weird but rev is really good at supporting while having nice damg output, resistance bot or healing or hammer backline work really well in zerg fight.
- 2nd place – Guard, same nothing to say, burn guard in wvw zerg fight is the one of the most played class.
- Last – War, this guy doesnt have any real support in wvw zerg fight beside being frontline meatbag or roaming.
- Viper Horror Reaper is a monster in solo play, very well sustain, easily hit 5x stack of bleed, with Blood varriant + minions pretty much nothing can take you down, But bear in mind that viper set is hard to get, you can use Carrion mix with Rabid or Dire but you lose abit of dps in exchange for massive survival but since you have 2 HP bar, HP steal, minions you don’t need that much of surviability. On the down side please remember necro is a selfish class, very little group support but still can find a group in frac or raid due to meta build.
- Next to necro is Condi Druid/Ranger, not much to say about this class due to pet make your life easy, as a condi you squish out alot more dps than power, druid varriant give you brand new set of 5 healing skill. This one also use Viper for pure dps but for survival, solo you should use Apothecary set to boost up your healing but also give nice sustain.
- Warrior are also on the list cuz he has strongest HP regen in this game, i must admit war can be boring at somepoint but still doing great. Condi Burn War have pretty nice dps atm and one of the best solo class cause condi is a mix between melee and ranged playstyle, with ton of HP regen, stay at save distance, what more do you want ?, If you find yourself hard to survive just take Defense trait, you lose quite alot dps but you gain more HP regen ( around 1k HP per sec )
What you are asking is quite troublesome to answer, PvE is PvE grinding is it major feature and you can’t avoid that.
If you want more challenging then do dungeons but its still grind or stay in a map that has higher level than you, Otherwise i cannot suggest any better way to get rid of your boredom.
If you already bought HoT then just use the boost. After that you can join WvW, this is large scale battle so don’t be afraid if get killed just stick with other people and commander if we die, we die together. Recently WvW changed has grant us quite nice amount of reward by playing it. Use your lv 80 do WvW > get Tome of Knowledge > use it on low level char.
Another suggestion is you pick a class with fun gameplay like ele, engi or thief. There are also some world boss at low level zone can get you some good reward too.
If all that doesn’t help then may be someone with better experience than me can help you with your boredom.
Heavy
- Guard is great in both PvE/PvP/WvW although the condi meta hurt a lot but guard still doing good. The downside of guard in my opinion is there are no skill/trait give us passive 25% movespeed but if you don’t mind it then guard is a good pick.
- Warrior, due to the rise of condi meta war is one of the best pick for PvE scenario also war is a very decent class in PvP/WvW but for these 2 contents war lack of build diversity and also require a bit of practice to play well in PvP/WvW.
- Revenant same as war because rev just got buffed in condi trait which make us somewhat useful in PvP/WvW, but honestly rev still remain an unfinished class. In PvE rev is wonderful because you gain easy access to swiftness, fury, might, protection which kinda fun to mess around ( not in raid ).
Medium
- Ranger probably the best choice here, easy learning, easy gameplay and lots of survivability although the main build is still involve condi meta but for a beginner power is great too. Work nice in PvE/PvP/WvW, oh wait you dont need any gear in PvP so that’s great i guess.
- Thief….well i’ll leave this to someone else because just like you don’t like engineer, i also don’t like thief.
Do not make exotic viper its a pain and a waste, although if you have HoT and also have x6 lv 80 character then do HoT story on all of them to get x6 pcs of exotic viper.
For PvE either sinister or rampager work, rampager are cheaper.
(edited by Eros.6801)
Once you have HoT go with Commander/Minstrel Chronomancer, this set up is one of the best support/tank specs, if you not interested in raid then nvm the tanking, support is good enough.
Druid is more in healing while provide some dps buff to other, but if you dont like condition build just take mesmer instead. I personally would suggest you take druid cuz they are good in solo play.
Since the rise of condition meta, PS warrior also a good option.
Commander or Minstrel Chronomancer will get you far they are tanking/alacrity support build with ton of boon duration, you can use sword/shield and GS for ranged which is kinda fun cuz you are a mesmer.
Due to game menchanic you will find yourself end up in melee fight most of the time in any PvE contents ( not WvW or PvP )
Talking about a fun ranged class i think something like ele with scepter/x either power or condi worth a try, also ele are one of the best support/dps class in game so far. But hey you can have more than 1 set on one character !! So i suggest make a condi set for chrono, using scepter/x and staff and i guarantee you will have a lot of fun with condi mes although they are just a fun build not for dun or raid.
Necro/Reaper is powerful but purely DPS and sometime you can tank if the party need you, necro can still offer little support to party but not so much tho.
And for Engi/Scrapper, you are corrected that scrapper is a good specs in PvP/WvW but not so much in PvE, you will need to drop scrapper and back to vanilla engi for more dps in PvE and accepted in raid. The good thing about engi/scrapper is they are really fun to play but since im not good at engi, i can’t go in detail.
Just for you to know, since the lastest balance patch end-game right now are pretty much into condition, power build still doing great but if you want to raid then better make a condi/viper set.
Hey listen man, its your fault not giving clear infomation so everyone here thought you
were still pretty much new to the game so they gave you their best advices, atleast say thank you.
For your problem i recommend necro/reaper with either condition or power build, reaper is a very strong melee/solo specs but also provide good dps. Reaper do have very nice ranged attack with axe for power and scepter for condi. If you try go get back into the game you should prob pick necro.
Being said that you are looking for a fun class then give mesmer a go, mes/chro both are very fun although mes/chro are more into supportive, utility class, with proper build chronomancer are on high demand for tank spot in raid. Please note that mesmer/chrono is not a dps specs but they can solo pretty much anything due to clones.
Lastly, as you said you have a maxed warrior so i suggest take a look at berserker elite specs with condi/viper gear, this is a very powerful dps specs with ton of burn, if you love set things on fire then give warrior a try. This is my personal opinion but i think i enjoy condi war more than power, strong dps, easy gameplay, a good solo specs overall.
You better ask this on mesmer subforum and to be honest there are no such thing like perma stealth for mesmer, let say permastealth Thief alone is broken enough.
Anh why do you even need stealth for SW maze anyway ?
Hello ! You are doing great tbh even better than me, i’ve been enjoying my scrub life lately just doing map completion and WvW.
For the next step i suggest you make either heavy ascended armor for warrior or Light for necro because both of them are so strong in solo play, i also suggest make a viper set because end-game right now are more into condition. Also condi mesmer are so much fun to play, too bad in dun or raid we forced to play tanky role but atleast for mapping it enjoyable, My scrub way to play mesmer is summon 3 clones then let them auto atk on staff and watch the bleed stacking up.
For Dragon Stand i do suggest you stick with necro because once you have asc gears necro either power or condi live like a god and pretty much nothing can take you down in open world content. They are also great and easy to play in WvW.
Finaly, set a long term goal like making Legendary to avoid quitting the game.
(edited by Eros.6801)
Oh hi there ! Cabal fan here ( just cabal, cuz cabal 2 sucks ) but i stop playing for a long time.
So i bet you want something like Force Archer ?
- Guardian with Dragon Hunter might fit your eyes, Youtube it. Also in addtion, Guardian is a mix playstyle between Force Shielder and Warrior ( with Great Sword ), although you need to be 80 and have elite specs to use a Bow.
- Warrior is just Warrior….they pretty much the same in gw2 and cabal.
- Revenant is somewhere between Blader and Force Blader can dual wield sword, Also Mesmer is somekind like Force Blader too but i won’t recommend it due to very hard and weak at pre-80. Rev also appear to be sluggish pre-80 ( Rev is strong but after many nerfed ppl start playing something else )
- Thief are perfectly fit to be described as a Blader but sadly they can’t dual wield sword, But you do have a lot of dodge, sneaky, fast attacks.
- Wizard of course would be Elementalist, hard to play but fun.
- Necro somehow end up having similar gameplay to Warrior in Cabal but dark theme, with elite specs Reaper, they wield a Scythe which looks like Warrior Battlemode 2 in Cabal And also necro/reaper are a very strong soloing class, highly suggest this but this just my personal opinion.
So i suggest you play either Guardian or Necro. But the choice is your.
(edited by Eros.6801)
First, This list below based on pre-80, After you hit 80 it will be a completely different story.
1. Ranger – NO. due to your personal taste.
2. Mesmer – NO. Its a pain to do anything pre-80, lack of passive movespeed, although if you want an unique gameplay then YES.
3. Guardian – BIG YES. Scepter/X is one of the best range weapon, good survival, good dps due to recent buff, a bit lack of movespeed as long as you don’t mind it.
4. Warrior – BIG YES. Rifle is not a bad choice, Bow have some nuke option pre-80, great mobility, has highest HP regen in game, great survival ( Range dps cannot compare to Guard in someway ), mostly Melee.
5. Ele – NO. Due to recent nerfs, still have great dps but since you want an easy lifestyle then Ele is out of the list.
6. Thief – NO. Do have great mobility but same as ele.
7. Engi – Unclear since i don’t have good experience with engi so better leave this alone.
8. Necro- BIG YES. Even without elite specs, core necro is already a monster in PvE/Solo exploration contents, highest HP pool, can summon a lot of minions if you feel lonely, Staff/Axe is a good range weapon, Dagger is one of the best melee weapon on necro, also have passive movespeed.
9. Revenant – NO, Without Elite specs Rev is sluggish, but do have heavy range dps due to Hammer spam, after went through some nerfs better stay off this prof for awhile. ( Don’t get the wrong idea, rev is a greatest class to do exploration if you have elite specs )
So probably Necro is on the top of the list then > War/Guard > The rest.
(edited by Eros.6801)
@leman- Please do let me know the result of your testing.
Nonetheless !! Quite happy with this power necro changed.
Oh please !! Visit Nerfenant subforum and consider how lucky we warriors are.
Balance Patch upcoming on Feb 22 !!
Let there be hope.
or not.
@Mizuira – Simple enough because of 2 but the thing is most ppl here are solo. It is good to have a friend with you to make everything easier. My friend spent 30 minutes on the fight, she didn’t want my help and i really feel bad about it.
I barely managed to win the fight but its true that Jade Bow are hell of a problem. The special skill encounter is too short and easy to miss with ton of CC, red circles around you.
Mhhm imagine Guard with flame like color vfx or Mesmer with crimson vfx…i’m drooling.
But highly doubt Anet will make this dream come true.
Here !! But only the Greatsword, can’t think of any pure black color beside this one.
Exotic version https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Reaper's_Greatsword
Ascended version https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Dark_Harvest
Also Dominator and Shadow weapon collection kinda black but not plain black
Dominator Skins https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Dominator_Weapon_Collection
Shadow Skins https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Shadow_weapon_skins
Good choice on picking ele, if play it in the right way ele can withstand any foe.
For masteries it would be wise to pick updraft before bouncing mushroom.
I’am not fractal expert so ill leave this to someone else but you can do find with exotic gear in low level fractals ( higher need ascended due to Agony )
For laurels best way is to buy ascended trinket BUT there are other option too and require you to grind quite alot of unbound magic, the vendore in Bloodstone Fen and Bitterfrost Frontier also sell ascended trinket.
For Karma, good news, you can buy exotic armor with berserker stat with them here is the link https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Temple_armor
*Please note this do not put any expensive rune on karmar gear cuz you will lose it forever ( cannot salvaged karmar gear )
Here is the refer link for build http://metabattle.com/wiki/MetaBattle_Wiki
*Please don’t do exactly as the build on web said and alway build trait in your own way.
(edited by Eros.6801)
1. Get enough mastery points for gliding and updraft. If you can go for bouncing mushroom too.
2. For boxes better use low level character to open then and yes you need to level another tool for boxes opening if you use boost on your 2nd character.
3. Look for other player’s help across HoT zone ( best is mesmer ) and get your DH fully unlocked.
4. For your Question : Yes you are corrected, in Tyria = Tyria Masteries, HoT = HoT masteries.
5. Crafting is very important whether you like it or not, start working on your ascended gear as soon as possoble.
6. For priority start with fully geared with Exotic stuff then Get your DH maxed and thats it do whatever you want after these two.
7. Mesmer is a very versatile class but take time to learn, you will suffer a lot of pain in high level maps as a starter mesmer but rewarded gameplay.
- I know i shouldn’t say this but i recommended Rev because this is the easiest class i can think of for you as you are new to this game ( auto perma swiftness is just too…..)
8. For gold farming stick with Silverwastes, any class can do well in pve but in group content guard is a very decent choice and Rev if you want easy mode.
- I only suggest newbie friendly class but if you want challenging gameplay then pick either ele or mesmer.
Last : Congratz on your first 80 and Have Fun !!!
(edited by Eros.6801)
My dear that’s Outfit
You can click the arrow next to Equipment line then select Outfit tab – Turn it off and everything back to normal.
Your gear is completely fine but you should make full exotic marauder armor and weapons and see how thing goes, trinkets can be found in achievement or some shop around new maps.
If you only do solo then Marauder will server you better than Zerker, my ele have around 16.5k HP with full marauder set ( extra HP help alot ) but still provide alot of damg cause high precision. Beside Marauder are much cheaper to craft.
(edited by Eros.6801)
To be honest there aren’t any class can deal massive damg but there are classes with easy gameplay and thief is not one of them, thief is good and fun but hard to play it right also not recommended for new comer.
Edited
Just saw another of your post downthere don’t need to create multi thread for just the same question.
My suggestion for your other thread !
1/ Ranger
2/ Necro
3/ Warrior
4/ Rev ( with herald )
(edited by Eros.6801)
Yes DragonHunter basically a ranger without pet, LB skill are pretty strong with low cd #2 and recently scepter got some love too.
For War there is a build name Gunflame and war have very high regen if you specs into Defense, bow is a condi weapons after HoT, condi war are pretty good now.
Well this game raid are easier than WoW but still need organaized group with everyone know what they are doing. Alot of guild offer raid training program you should find one. Also in raid we now have holy trinity system.
Welcome Back
Ele ofc is the best ranged class no matter what
Condition Necro is very powerful with HoT
Ranger become a healer but you need gear with healing power on it for raiding ofc.
If you gonna use 80 boost i suggest Guard because elite specs Dragon Hunter can use longbow quite strong.
For WvW it remain the same just ppl like to transfer to high rank servers.
You probably want to check out new build for your classes, gears, and masteries system.
Now we’re talking – i see whats your problem is
I fixed your build a bit
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vNAQNAT8XjMqQFLWwCurAXLG2Dq/5L3nmH4AeE2bPAO7C85B-e
This the build i highly recommended, i know you like power build but this build is very powerful in HoT map and hella cheap to gear up.
It seems you still wearing rare gear (Yellow) thats why youre going to suffer alot from HoT, this is how to get easy exotic gear.
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Temple_armor
If you have karma a full set of armor x6 pcs will cost you 242k karma but karma gears can’t be salvaged so don’t put any expensive rune on it and no karma vendor sell berserker trinkets.
Now the reason why i recommend you to play the second build is Rabid gear, runes of krait are very cheap on trading post ( carrion too but only weapon ).
If you use power build x6 karma armors with berserker stats = 242k BUT weapons, trinkets with zerker stat will cost you ton of gold even with exotic version and since you only do solo pve so pretty much just use karma and gold to buy gear.
Again for the second build gear up if you use karma + gold to buy its only cost you 10g or less for all of that stuff in the build.
Another way to get exotic armor is playing Verdant Brink events, get Pact Crowbar use them to open cargos all around the map to get Airship Part and buy Bladed box from map vendor but requied Itzel Language mastery.
Last thing get your Druid specs done, i can lend you a hand with HP run ( if youre on NA ofc )
Thats all i can say for now !!
For berserkers stat there are some way to obtain them
You can craft a backpiece but only lv 78 by getting any profession to 400 or buy from trading post for lv 80 verion around ~14g https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Lucky_Great_Ram_Lantern then choose the stat.
For exotic version trinkets just buy them off trading post a bit costly tho or save up your laurels and buy ascended version *note that you can’t equip 2 asc trinkets that have SAME NAME ( can use if one of them are infused )
I am still have unclear infomations to identify your main problem !!
Read and follow/answer some questions below.
1/ Please go to the link @Sagramor gave you and build exactly the same BUILD youre using *note im not gonna judging your build im try to find the problem so we can fix it
2/ Tell us your gears color (Green/Blue/Yellow/Orange/Pink) with what STATS on it.
3/ What kind of mob did you fight that take you “10 years” ? And Where ?
4/ Are you sure youre not using your lv 30 war to lvl up at the map that actually has higher lv than you ? Because i do main a war recently and he is NOT that weak.
5/ Playstyle mean how did you use your ranger ? Did you use your pet and stay from afar shooting ? Or you usually fight in melee range ? Which one you prefer POWER or CONDITION build ? Weapons that you like to use most of your time fighting ?
6/ Finally – Are you a Free to Play player ? Do you have HoT purchased ?
(edited by Eros.6801)
Well a lot of this kind of thead going on recently but i’ll try to answer tho the decision is up to you.
You like heavy looking so i suggesting Warrior he has highest hp regen in game, you will lose some dps in exchange for massive hp regen (Defense trait), high movespeed, high hp pool, great survivability, can use various weapon setup but war might be boring cuz no flashy skill vfx < this can be solved by using legendary or some glowing weapons.
My second nominations would be Rev my favorite class even though it very unstable and buggy atm but give you alot of buff (Glint), great survival can deal a bit more dps than war but use less weapon setup than war (mostly sword/x or staff and hammer for ranged)
About necro/reaper, he’s a beast in solo play but light armor and you probably will end up with condition build (scepter/x/staff) for more dps, super survivability due to hp steal, highest hp pool in game and minions, in your case you can still use power build with GS/Axe or Dagger cuz you mostly solo……errr a norn or charr necro sure looks cool right ?
(edited by Eros.6801)
I can’t think of any better than guard but you are guard already, rev is unstable right now and you are just being a boonbot in raid.
Well maybe Ranger/Druid is a good choice for you, with pet mechanics and Druid for healing along with many offensive buff abilities, you can boost up your ele friend dps alot while pet are able to tank and you can heal both of them, if you run condition druid – even better, but sadly alot of ranger out there might be a bit tough to get into raid,
Necro/Reaper also good as @KickzNGigglez said but youre not going to bring much of support to your friend beside tanking with minions.
Mesmer/Chrono with recently patch they nerfed ele cd quite a lot i think with chrono alacrity ( reduce cd for team ) might come in handy beside that you can bring more utility like portal, reflect etc, also mes can 1v1 very good if you know how to play ( in all game mode PvE/PvP/WvW ).
Are you talking about PvP, WvW or PvE ?
Atleast tell us your build, gear, playstyle or read what EW said above and fix it.
tbh with Ranger/Druid best build you can dish out more dps is condition build.
If you affraid of death that much then go with Carrion Necro/Reaper for WvW or Viper Horor in PvE with the amout of minions + “Rise” you can’t go wrong.
