Me and my wife own a guild hall just for some extra fun. Since we have more then enough gold or gear we’ve decided to farm everything litteraly by ourselves (yes every piece of flax, sparks, shovels, etc). I think we had the Arena in about one month. By now we almost have a level two tavern. And I guess we did not spend more then 200 gold by now (since you can not farm runes of holding and stuff like that). We have our main level 64 guild so it is just a way to have some extra fun (decorate!!!). I hope this will motivate you guys to build a nice guild hall with a small guild because it is possible to certain degree.

I am with you that Anet should give us an option to block squad invites and maybe party invites in general (like all mmo’s I’ve played). But on the other hand, you could join the squad and make a subgroup for you and your party so you can still have private chat. A squad could offer the benefit that when a meta starts, you (and your party) could join quick, finish the meta and resume your business. You will have nice load and if you leave your subgroup to join the others for a minute you even share buffs with each other.

So i play with roughly 300-360 ping most of the time, and I’m trying out rev in spvp. Any suggestions on a lag friendly build that can work around my latency? I tried the metabattle power shiro build but chaining attacks just feels heavy. (swapping to staff take half a second, and then pressing 5 takes another half a second before it casts)

If you want to drive on the highway, you need a car that travels faster then 15mph.

Well if afk’ers are your biggest problem in this game¿ Hahahaha! Blame Arenanet, they are the ones who need to make sure people who play ranked should know at least the basics of PvP. Maybe you people need to think further then your own problems only¿ There is a huge group of people who afk in matches, so Arenanet should go look at the core of the problem and ask themselves the question; “Why are so many people willing to buy a game, install the game and choose a game mode to play, followed by staring at your screen until the other people are finished playing the game mode you picked, what was initially meant to play with them.”

But hey, I wish you guys a lot of fun wasting your time on an already lost game. Don’t expect me to do the same, especially not when my wife is sitting here next to me. Ya’ll can blow my little whistle…

Sure, I’m not perfect, I make mistakes like everyone else but when nobody tries to cleave a downed person I automatically consider the idea of AFKing.

When I play with my team sometimes we do an enemy teamwipe while they try to ressurect a downed player and snowball the freaking map. The pugs I’m matched with are absolutely and definitely UNABLE to do this thing.

Sometimes I +1 a 2vs2 situation, I help kill one of the enemy players and run away to cap/decap some other point

My teammates proceed to die to the 1 remaining person who just ate kittenload of condis and general aoe splash damage.

You tell me if my expectations are sane or insane.

P.S: I also wish my pugs in the upcoming season to have half a brain and not walk willingly into marks/traps/wells expecting to win something. This is like the most common stupid thing I see.

See maybe i have a weak nervous system, but after 5 minutes of the same mistakes over and over and over I lose the will to fight in such a game and just go and duel some people here and there 1on1. Who cares really when the score is 450 vs 50-100. It’s not like this joke of a team is suddenly going to git gut and snowball the map. Not that it’s impossible but unlikely to happen in soloQ environment.

I rest my case.

P.S.S: In my last match for last night I had a [TCG] thief in my team. I tried to talk to the guy about tactics and kitten. He then proceeded to go mid alone and afterwards jump around the temple of the storm without engaging any enemy. Effectively making the game 4v5

You al don’t see the bigger problem here. Lot of people (specially kids these days) have stopped using their brain.

-They do not check their gear/stats/build before playing after a long break.
-They just remove some gear pieces because they think it’s pretty, without investigating the risks and effects first.
-They cap home with two or three people.
-They aren’t willing to reroll necro, although a team without one has a 80% lose rate in this meta.

I can go on and on and on about this, but that would not help.

Why was going in 2v4 and losing the fight your only option here? You are trying to justify your action as a correct one and you can’t in the example you provided. You get teamed with a known hacker and don’t want to assist them with a win, different story. You have a real life issue, different story. Well first, I’ve never said we lost 2v4 at mid cause we ran away. Then one dragonhunter noob came after me and like you said, I lured him away and practically 1-shot him. Then two rangers went far and got killed by the one revenant who was defending home (yes he 2v1 them). From there they kept doing stupid crap. Again my question is, Why should I bother doing something, if the match start with three people capping home¿ We all know that when something like that happens it will not be the only stupid thing they do. I do miss Raid on the Capricorn a little. It was balanced poorly but it was variety at least. Even if they’d pulled it out of official rotation for tournaments or ranked play, it would have been nice to leave in as an option. God knows we could use more PvP maps rather than fewer.

Players have complained constantly about wanting Rank PvP to revert back to old leaderboard MMR system. Congratulations, Leagues is exactly that only better. We no longer have that “win 10 games straight to be top 5, only playing 1 game a week to maintain the rank” old MMR system anymore.

It takes consecutive wins to climb up the ladder; not meant for the average joe… the entire GW2 community. If Anet really wanted to cater to casuals, a grind system for Amber, Emerald, and Ruby players should be in place.

An example of what casuals are probably wanting

• 800+ won games in a season guarantees Tickets equivalent to Diamond players.
• 1200+ won games in a season guarantees Tickets equivalent to Legendary division players

numbers can be altered and changed depending on X number of players reaching these thresholds.

Solo players need to give out solutions instead of complaining about an awesome system that was never meant for them.

We are talking about a game here, just a game and nothing more then that. I don’t care much about PvP, but you obviously don’t understand the meaning of buying a game and have fun with it the way you want to play it. You disgust me. No… Just give the NPCs “immune, static downstate”. Meaning when the npcs are down, they don’t bleed. They don’t take damage. They will die only and only when they are finished. Surely this would reduce more randomness and accents the kill steal mechanic. I think it will be a lot more interesting.

I commend the OP’s duprass for establishing and upgrading their own guild hall. That is indeed awesome and deserving of praise, etc.

I am less fond of the OP’s post and especially the title. Instead of saying, “stop complaining, you lazy sourdough batards — it’s not that hard,” the OP could have simply said, “here’s how to build up a two-person guild hall” or “my two-person guild prefers the new system because…” and explained how you did it. There is no need to diminish the efforts of others or to brag about the accomplishment.

The fact that he did not explain how he did it with 2 people leaves doubt. Like you mentioned, the OP could have came here with a detailed description of how he actually did it. Instead he came in like a pompous kitten and said I’m cool and all those that aren’t cool need to bugger off. I think he’s full of it and leaving a lot of how it was really done out of his story.

Actually the OP did say.. in answer to something I put out there… he said he played TP while his wife farmed the necessaries to get the upgrades, all by her lonesome – - believe that if will… personally I smelt a rat having seen the effort required by my own guild which is only not too much larger in size and we put a lot of time into GW2.
I still think the credit card theory came into play a lot more than was being said .. each to there own though.

As for them 2 manning the guild hall quest – video or it never happened I guess, so they would of pugged another 4-7 members in order to get it done (I found personally having a max of 9 players the best size for success but less than 6 was also a pain with the timers in mind)

Converting gems to gold is really something a real rich or really stupid person would do looking at this gold/gem rate.

OP is absolutely right. If you lack teamwork, organization and the skill necessary to take your hall, examine yourself. You are begging for a handout to achieve the reward people better organized, with higher priorities on teamwork and with more dedicated goal focused members have earned.

If you find yourself begging and pleading for a change to a system that rewards small guilds for hard work, realize you are not in a capable guild. Work with your small guild to achieve your goals. If you are consistently failing, making it easier for you now will only be hurting your development as a guild and as a gamer.

It has nothing to do with organisation and teamwork.. if a 2 man guild like the OP’s lacked that then yeah.. that would be bad news for the guild.
It’s about retaining the effort but ensuring that effort/cost is spread equally throughout the guild spectrum… getting a guild hall is nothing more than a pug LFG… upgrading it is something quite different… 500 players collecting for example sand and seeds is nothing in comparison to what small guilds have to go through because someone didn’t bother to look into the mechanics of it all very well, in fact I would say it’s actually a pretty lazy content implementation with no thought other than “we now have guild halls”

It is the opposite. My point is on the money. Organizing a 500 man guild to be motivated to donate towards the hall at a pace fast enough and in quantities large enough to have guild unlocks as the aetherium becomes available is a tremendous effort. One in which you underestimate. Large guilds that can accomplish this have fantastic leaders and organization.

Small guilds, such as mine and OP’S, are able to keep up with similar organization and dedication. Failing to accomplish your goals is not the contents fault. But your own shortcomings. This is my problem. People unable to accomplish guild goals due to poor organization or lack of dedication crying foul.

Guild hall and its upgrades are designed for guilds large and small with both capable members and leaders. If you are struggling it is a sign that your guild is not healthy.

2 of you.. I am stick my neck out and say.. ANET like you lots cos that credit card burns HoT constantly to buy gems and convert to gold to buy all the glass, flax etc etc to get that 2 man guild up to par with that 500 man guild…. you can spend you whole life grinding sand and seeds as well as other stuff if you like.. many others want to actually play all facets of the game and still be able to achieve things, but experience suggests you weren’t / aren’t able to get all those upgrades quite as easily as you like to make out without credit card assistance – and if that’s your thing then all power to you, gz on ya achievements.

We buy €50,- gems a year. As a player/customer in this game, imo we all own this a little bit to Arenanet, (that’s what keeps this game running for you too) but that’s an other discussion. And for the rest, I speed-cleared dungeons and farm the TP a little while my wife is making gold with farming and crafting. I think you are just jealous lol… But again like I said, until now we did not spend a lot of gold on guild hall upgrades. For example: Yes, my wife farmed all the flax and the sand etc to make stuff like mugs and kegs. You can do that too, we are not special…

I had heard how hard it is to get guild halls and that you need a big guild and so I thought the task would be impossible for our little guild. My hubby has hot, I have yet to get it (possibly christmas)… It is good to know that with some work it is possible for a small guild of 2 people to be able to get a guild hall… gives me something to look forward to and something to aim for when I get the expansion

I think the content of the gw2 communauty is variety with small, medium and big guilds.

The big problem with this new system is it’s not possible to gain “favor” without doing missions guild who require many people.
Before HoT, the “Influence” system was better for small guilds because we won points of “influence” just by account’s connexion or by the differents activities than we done alone or together (dungeons, fractals, wb,…). It allowed us to create banners and some little advantages. Now, it’s impossible.

Recruitment is not a priority when you privilege your irl and your family life. We (small guilds) just want to have the right to have fun like before the favour system.

In my small and lovely guild <3 we have bought HoT and we desire to have our guild hall (as people who bought the extension) buuuuuut surprise!!! It needs gold coins (not a surprise, i played on gw1…) and.. favor! With our 28.256 points of influence and them conversion, we have only 100 points of favor (guild hall needs 150). As we are only 3 or 4 players who play every days and sometime on the same moment, and as now it’s impossible to win points of favor without missions guild, we are very frustrated!!! We want our hall guild but we want to play without changing our playing spirit and play together when we can.

So please, allow us to gain again points of favor like we won points of influence. Not a lot… no… just like before, without the obligation to do missions guilds. Please!!!

I really really really don’t understand where this “small guilds can not have Guild Halls/Favor” talk is comming from. I see a lot of topics on it and people are saying the biggest nonsense I’ve ever seen here on the forums.

My guild has 2 people. Me and my wife.
We have our guild hall. We have almost 2000 favor. And we even have upgrades in our guild hall. The coolest thing that I am very proud of is the fact that until now we did not even spend gold on the upgrades, (and believe when I say we have more then enough gold/materials) what means that with patience and farming you can have this upgrades for almost free until a certain point.

Before HOT we could not even start a mission. We could not even obtain merits!

I don’t know about all this people saying otherwise but they just talk nonsense. The one thing HOT really did for us is making guilds very small guild friendly. Please friends do some more effort when you want to achieve something. Don’t come here on the forums asking for everything to be thrown at you.

If you think logically, this could be implanted for future purpose. If there are gonna be more specializations, it would be logic if you have to choose only one specialization without combining them.

UPDATE: I can only access my bank from the royal terrace. And still cant enter the guild office in LA…

But at least it is very pleasant to see our stuff in the royal terrace guildbank…

Ty guys. I already submitted a ticked tho. Its just so so so freaking scary! Yesterday it was weird indeed. Guildchats where lagging. All of my guildmembers were not visible, the emblem was gone too. My wife could see the guildbank but she could not withdraw stuff. But today when I logged in, I saw the members, level, and status again. Only now it’s like tho whole guild bank is not there. I also cant enter that office in LA and when i talk to the registrant/greeter it tells me that it need to speak to a leader or officer. Really weird stuff is going on here. Ty Edgar for your peptalk tho mate :p…

Btw, all the other guild I’m in have no visible problems as far as i can see.

We got a few members. My wife is leader too and I also tried it on her account. Same problem. We are really freaking out here… We still have our placable banners and even some favor from the guild rush I did yesterday. But guild bank is gone. And we can’t enter the office in LA…

See image. My guildbank is gone with over 1000 worth of stuff in it. If i talk to the bank npc it tells me that I don’t have a guildbank. I can’t enter the initiative office cause it tells me an officer should be talking to a greeter first :s… And if a talk to the greeter/registrant it tells me an officer should be talking to him… But I am the leader! And i need access to my guildbank!!!

This is a disaster!
