The problem lies in the mesmer’s perceived power level. Because of their abilities mesmers are really good at killing bad players. After said bad player losses do they: A ) reflect of the fight and try to see what they did wrong or B ) run too the forums with “OMG MEZMUR OP PLZ NEFR”?

I really cannot understand this double standard that gets applied to conditions. How is taking a bunch of conditions to the face and dying any different from taking a bunch of direct hits to the face and dying? At least with the conditions you have a few seconds to cleanse before you die. With power damage you just die.
Canach seems to be a Warrior or Berserker.
I thought he was an engineer, just the way his shield is used and some of the other abilities he has.
NPCs aren’t limited with respect to professions like PCs are. Canach appears to be primarily a warrior but with a few engineer skills thrown in.
I might be remembering this wrong but didn’t Destiny’s Edge come about when Edge of Steel and Dragonspawn’s Destiny fused into a single guild? Maybe they’re doing a similar thing here, two guilds are combining into one and getting a new name in the process.
And Toughness needs to negate a % of Condi Damage or give us more access to Vitality or reduce the CD on cleanses.
This is actually a very bad idea. People really need to stop suggesting it.
First off, conditions are supposed to counter toughness.
Secondly, conditions are balanced around not having a reduction stat. If you added one the damage of conditions would have to increase to compensate. This would mean anyone without said stat would die even faster to conditions.
On topic, toughness is a defensive stat it shouldn’t really give offensive bonuses. If retaliation is to scale off something other than power it should be the strength of the incoming hit. At present retaliation dies very little to slow attacking enemies (like PvE ones). Making large hits cause larger retaliation hits would make it useful against more types of opponent.
Also the Pale Tree might be able to help control magic, she is a dragon minion after all. So we have two potential replacement elder dragons. Later stories might add more.
It’s kind of a fine line. Getting one-shot isn’t fun. But having people that just won’t die isn’t fun either.
The tooltips are bugged. You get the boon duration but the tooltips don’t update.
Maybe the guy in charge of the traps misunderstood and thought they had an Inquest problem?
It is not a bug. Flow of Time however, is poorly worded.
Originally it only needed one illusion to trigger. This proved overpowered because it made Reversion trigger on every shatter. So it was nerfed to its current state.
Edit: Just to clarify further, you seem confused about what Illusionary Persona actually does. It does not make your character an illusion. It just generates a shatter effect at your location. Flow of Time counts the number of shatter effects (even though that isn’t what the wording says). Illusionary Reversion on the other hand counts the number of illusions directly.

I always figured he was just on a different airship.
If you find yourself on a team with more than one Thief, please don’t tell us you’re going to sit in spawn if we don’t change. Please either disconnect or try to win, and at least wait until after you lose before you throw a tantrum. Some of us are actually on winning streaks… even when multiple Thieves have been our teams.
Politely requesting is quite fine. But threatening is quite immature.
Thank you! :-)
I agree with this. That attitude is quite disgusting and extremely arrogant. if there are too many thieves then why don’t they switch? Why should everyone else have to follow to their whims?

A baddie chronophantasma can defeat a long time player like say Blackjack just by spamming keys. That is a fact.
Not true.
It’s the same with how stupidly powerful the DH is. A bad DH can nuke out a good thief or deny the capture point for long enough just randomly pressing keys.
No, a bad DH can take out a bad thief. A good thief can take out a bad DH.
Condi needs counter play and the balance team needs to get their kitten together.
It already has counter play. If you can’t use it that’s your problem not Anet’s.
The reason there isn’t an anti-condition stat is because condition cleansing takes that role. Furthermore condition damage is balanced around the lack of a mitigation stat. If there was one added then condition damage would have to be increased. This would just make things worse for anyone not running the stat.
P.S. About the mindless condition spam, power revenant impossible odds → AA spam says hi.
I was going to say I just reuse names from other games but a quick check revealed that only a third of my characters have reused names.
I try too make the names appropriate to both lore and context. For example I gave my iron legion thief the last name siegebreaker. What does the iron legion like? Explosives. How might you combine explosives with stealth? Basically his job is to get behind enemy lines place bombs and bring down the defences so the main force can move in.
I doubt the Legendaries are gone for good. I suspect Anet will start working on them again when they have more time.
What about adding a second variant of the swords? Then there can be a variant that stays lit and one that goes out when sheathed.
If anet relay wants to encourage this sort of thing why not offer in game incentives?
Because if people get rewards for it they will just do it for the rewards and not to help people. Do you really want someone’s first raid experience to be with a bunch of people who don’t really want them there?
I can see one major issue with instances for RPers. What is going to stop trolls from entering a messing with things? Especially since they’ll know exactly were to find you.
Like dis? The only thing i wonder.. how sword/sword with axe/axe will look when both stowed..?
Presumably the currently equipped set would override the other one. Kind of like how your back item will disappear if you have a shield stowed.
The arc would vary as a continuum I just used discrete values as an example.
I’ve been thinking about ways to improve the staff auto-attack. The short range on it has always bugged me. However people often use the current version to tag multiple mobs at once and probably wouldn’t be too happy about losing that. So I came up with an idea to allow for both.
Basically the staff #1 skill gets a range boost with a variable arc. If used without a target or on a target within 600 range the skill will behave exactly the same as it does now. If used on a target further away the arc will decrease so that the skill still covers the same area. At 900 range the skill would cover an 80 degree arc while at 1200 range the arc drops to 45 degrees.
If someone wants I can post the math for the new arc values but not going to bother unless someone asks.
Maybe? I mean, if we knew about them they wouldn’t be undiscovered would they?
I think a lot of people just wouldn’t play. Especially an online game. Get some lag or a server crash and you’re basically screwed.
This wouldn’t actually be very fun. It would become annoying very quickly.
Removing the daily AP cap won’t level they playing field for AP. The only way to level the playing field is to remove the AP from unobtainable achievements. Then everyone can compete for the leaderboards because all possible AP are available to everyone.
This seems like it would be a massive hassle to implement. It would be far easier to simply make the gifts purchasable for people who have already completed the maps.
I don’t mean this in a rude way but, have you considered a single player game?
I believe the general rule is if it has a sell price then you can safely ditch it.
If you have completed the legendary then you can get rid of it all since there are no possible steps you may need them for later because well, you have the legendary.
If you spec into DH without virtues, f3 is instant cast, so your other statement is incorrect.
No, it isn’t. That is a tooltip error. Try using a spell with a long cast on it like longbow #5 and then use F3 mid-cast. You will interrupt the spell you were casting. Instant cast spells won’t do that.
I like skyhammer. It lets me see who is actually good and who is just getting carried by overpowered builds.
Trahearne’s death left me feeling down for a few hours. Speaking of Trahearne…why couldn’t we just go into his head and kick Mordremoth out of there too?
Because a lot of people have an irrational hatred of Trahearne and wanted to see him dead.
The asura can levitate an entire city, I don’t think a few boxes are a problem.
Maybe they could make it function similar to Reaper of Grenth. You keep your normal abilities but periodically apply conditions around you.
There are several errors in your logic by the one in the fallen hopes section is pretty large.
Taimi basically says that Rox+Braham+Scruffy+Marjory+Kasmeer+Commander = too heavy. You have concluded that since Rox and Braham get left out that a charr or norn commander is also too heavy. The problem is that Taimi only said that everyone combined was too heavy, not that a charr or norn on their own would be too heavy.
Rox and Braham get left out not because they’d be too heavy on their own but because they’re rather useless compared to the one man (or woman as the case may be) army that is the commander.

I’d like to see a Holomancer elite spec for engineers. Uses asuran hologram tech to summon illusions to aid them. Not sure exactly how to execute it however. Could have to holograms as utility skills like iDefender and iDisenchanter. Or possibly could have a new set of weapon kits that take the form of holographic weapons (I rather like the idea of my engineer going on a rampage while dual-wielding holo-swords) and the summons are tied to the new weapon kits. Would need to have a cooldown on swapping these kits to avoid having masses of holograms summoned instantly. Not sure what weapon to give the spec. I would have said focus but engineers only have main-hand pistol and that seems overly limiting.
Different people have different opinions?
What is this madness?
First you must use hero points to unlock your druid traits and abilities. Then equip your druid trait-line in the 3rd slot. You are now a druid.
I think the items must be 75+ for the mystic forge to have a chance to give a precursor. However it is extremely unreliable. If you have the gold and don’t mind getting it off the trading post then just buying it is probably your best option.
1) Joining one of the Orders doesn’t remove a charr from their warband. The choice to join an Order is an individual one (that said an entire warband could chose to join if they wanted to). As to whether they consider their Order comrades to be a warband is up to the individual (though gladium joining an Order would probably be more inclined to do this than charr that have a warband).
2) Varies with the individual. Some dislike magic to varying degrees, others take a more pragmatic approach i.e if it works why wouldn’t you use it?
3) Yes, a warlike race without medics would not last very long. Engineer NPCs can often be seen dropping medi-packs.
Vukorep answered both of your questions.
It is possible to obtain? No, not anymore.
Was it obtainable in the past? Yes, it was a PvP skin.
(lol I can’t think of a good reason for there to be a char necro)
Lorewise charr have very good reasons for having necromancers. They do have a bit of a ghost problem after all.
I remember reading that Anet originally had racial traits planned but scrapped them because they didn’t want certain races to be better at certain professions than others. I don’t see how it would be different now.
I hope it is an updated flamethrower skin.
But I suspect it will be an environmental weapon.
The easiest solution is to revert mantas to the “bugged” state and raise the CDs slightly to compensate.
You can blink ahead of it to keep it running in the same direction. Might be useful in PvP to catch people off guard.
If you put in a reward for reporting people you just encourage frivolous reports.
