Last I heard it was gonna end on September 17, but I just wanna be sure.
Can somebody confirm when the final date before you can’t enter SAB anymore is?
That doesn’t specifically say WHAT bosses will return. :s Just wanna be sure.
So I’ve heard that the Queen’s Gauntlet will return as an annual thing next year, but what about the current bosses like Liadra? If you for instance haven’t managed to defeat her and complete her achievements, will you get the chance next year along with the other bosses?
I need more guidance, please. I know engineers aren’t the most profitable class to play for this, but it’s the only lvl 80 I got atm and I want this done before the season ends.
So I just run around avoiding the circles while throwing grenades behind me?
So I’ve been trying to beat this lass down for a while now, to no avail. And since most guides favor classes like mesmers or alike, what ‘s you people’s hints to defeat her, along with completing her achievement, as Engineer?
If I get killed by a Gauntlet boss, should I really have to become a lifekitten dy by the staff members while I wait by chance that someone will come and raise me, or having to WP all the way down from the center of the pavilion?
Or wouldn’t it be better if you just got back to the staff members alive, fully alive?
This may fall to deaf ears, but I’ll just say it anyway.
Isn’t it a good idea to give players at least a week between the Living Story Updates to properly PLAY THE ACTUAL game? Such as completing other achievments, leveling up their characters without stress and whatnot.
I can’t do other stuff anymore in the game becuase I get too stressed out completing the LS achievments on my precious spare time that I have to actually enjoy the game, rather than being a chore.
Thank you.
I played Guild Wars 2 since the pre-launch, and so far my first character hasn’t recieved a gift yet while others have.
Is this a common problem or is it just me?
Thank you. Anybody else who can provide a good way to kill him before I get killed first? :P
Anybody, surely?
I don’t know how to do this.
I’ve used lots of combos of stuns/cripple abilities and whatnot, but I can’t manage to beat this boss since I get steamrolled by the norn’s attacks when I try to control the pup.
As this is my only character who’s lvl 80, since I can’’t get time to level due to the occupation of all the Living Story updates, I need some pro-tip what’s the best way to beat this as an Engineer. Currently I use a Rifle build, 0/30/0/10/30
Please help!
If anybody can tell me how to solo this as engineer, as that’s the only class I got with bezerker gear available, lemme know
I mostly won the games by not killing everyone, but to simply do the opposite: Staying alive and avoid confrontation. Gather as many rations as possible and then hide, waiting out until the storm is over. Like a true survivor. :P
While I personally don’t mind mini-updates with living story with added content to the game, with new achievements and all, I also feel very stressed out at times of completing all of the achievements before the time runs out, especially with contents like dungeons or mini-games which either are way too hard, too flawed or having too high set of goals. On the recent updates, with the Dragon Bash and from there, it’s felt more like a grindfest than time-passing entertainment. More like a job than relaxation. And I thought one of the principles of Guild Wars 2 was NOT about being a farming MMO?
My point is, this makes me near unable to invest the time I got between work/school and whatnot to do other things in the game properly. And I know that many would agree. Of course, there are those who may have way more time over to spend hours in the game, but I digress as I would like to speak for a certain group of GW2 players anyway.
So, is there any consideration to perhaps pace down the living story updates alittle, giving some relief for players to invest on other gameplay besides the Living Story, especially for completionists like me?
Easy to say when you’re stuck failing to do the last two achievments on Mai and Horrik when you can’t just resets the boss for more attempts than having to do the entire instance over and over and over and over and over only to get stuck on the laser boss. Especially when you only got a few days left do complete this. It’s really nervwrecking.
It’s not enjoyable when it becomes a chore rather than a challenge. It’s just flawed.
Anyone got any confirm on this?
I gotta ask, to be sure:
If, for example, you begin the fight with Mai and Horrik, attempting to do Unfriendly Skies or Personal Space, but your entire group dies – Is it then too late to attempt the achievments or is it possible to redo the attempts after the wipe, instead of having to DO THE ENTIRE INSTANCE ALL OVER AGAIN?
Just need to know, thanks.
That’s for americans though, I spoke to him already. I’m on EU servers.
I only got Personal Space and Unfriendly Skies to complete until 8th and I keep farming it with both the guilds and PUGs, but none are adequate enough to complete these and I’m running out of time.
Is there any organization out there who perform experienced runs in AR on EU servers that I could join? Would be very helpful, thanks!
I’m a completionist. I hate to leave one-time-only achievments behind, especially story-based one. So I have to know: When is it no longer possible to gain the Crab Toss achievments?
I keep playing the darn thing and it keeps making me want to slam the desk everytime something remotely negative happens. I mean, come on:
- Random Player spawn without any possibility to just do this with friends/guildmembers only?
- ROLLINGKARKASLAWLSPLAT
- Clunky and chaotic controls
I really don’t enjoy this game. And I know, “It’s not meant for everyone”. But if it’s not for everyone, don’t make people like me who wants to complete all achievements having to go through this nightmare!
Right. Please answer my question so I can stop stressing myself out about this. Thank you.
So I heard about this server system to be implemented, about letting players from on server to play on another to meet up with friends and such without having to switch Home Server.
How’s that coming along?

Tried to add my credit card again after removed the card file once to buy gems. Once I’ve put down all the correct details, it keeps saying Card Approval failed, to recheck the details. It’s the same details I’ve always used in previous purchases. Please help!

Still can’t buy new gems due to the “Card Approval failed” error when confirming the purchase. I’ve contacted my bank and they see no issue from their part, telling it’s more likely a problem from this side of the fence.
So now both sides are pointing at one another, so it’s not really solving anything for me and most people here. This has gone over a week now.

I’ve tried to buy more gems, but I keep getting (Card Approval failed) when I confirm my credit card. And I see no transactions coming from my bank. What to do?
Three things that seems pretty bugged with the Guild system at the moment:
- My guildmate added 400 Influence to the guild the other night, as well as I added 400 via the Guild Promoter. However, none of our points were added to the total of Influence of the guild.
- Everytime I try to update my Guild Message of the Day, it doesn’t edit the latest entry. It just stays on the old message, not changing at all.
- I can’t add any guild upgrades to the queue, even though I certainly have enough Influence to do so.
Anybody else experiencing this? And no, I’ve not transfered to another server or anything, I’ve kept my guild on the same server ever since I created it.

As much as there are ways to work around this, I still feel the current guild communication system is still flawed compared to other MMOs. I still want to be able to chat and announce at the same time, to be fully ensured the information gets through. And having to keep whisper each officer all the time when I need to talk to several at the same time is also abit annoying when I might have to step down to /party in order to do so, when they could’ve just made an /officer chat or similiar?
I hate to be one of those guys but… Just look at what World of Warcraft did in this matter.
When I started my first own guild, slowly but steadily recruiting new members, I notice something that I personally think cripples the social aspects of guilds: The Represent button.
If I for example wish to announce something or talk to several people at once via the /guild chat, planning events and such, it’s nearly impossible in a small-sized guild when 80% of the players for one reason or another have their account representing another guild than your own. It’s starting to feel infuriating how void the guild feels when people can just freely communicate with another guild at the same time, muting your own guild’s chat in the process. Me, as a guild leader, feel powerless to such issue which could’ve solved so easily if this system was without.
I personally cannot see the point of guild representation being account-based instead of character-based, since it has worked so well in other MMOs. Why not simply having a choice of being in a guild or not, instead of making a middle-road which tears the guild’s local community apart, especially to small-sized guilds?
What do you guys think?
Thing is, this worked in WoW, so why shouldn’t it work in GW2?
- Something that bugs me is that when you make your character talk, they just stand there motionless.. almost soulless. What if you implemented some animation, similar to what you use in the Personal Story cutscenes, to make your characters more alive?
Basically, what World of Warcraft is using during in-game chat.
- Also, allow your character to sit on chairs! Always wanted that, and so to many others.

Summary
Full Name: The Blazing Gear Platoon [BGP]
Play Style: PvE, WvW, RP
Theme: Military, Gritty, “Steampunk-ish”, Firearms, Demolition and Siege Engineering
Race & Gender: Any
Profession: Limited, mainly Engineer, Warrior and Thief. See details on “Who can join?” below.
Current Goal: Recruiting the first batch of troops.
Background
The Blazing Gear was founded by the marksman mercenary Erithan Benthennes from Lion’s Arch, with the concept that there are too few major military organizations, besides perhaps the Vigil, which hold expertise in siege and combat engineering. Being a multiracial paramilitary coalition, its goal is to unite potential bodies and minds for the engineering and firearms aspects of warfare against the enemies of Tyria, whether they’re being the forces of the Elder Dragons or the “World Invaders”. Not being directly affiliated to any major faction, one could presume the platoon is working like a mercenary band. However, the platoon does not fight for the favour of gold and fortune. In fact, it’s financial management is similar to the Major Orders of Tyria, being instead contributed by sympathizers, investors and other volunteering sources.
Organization and Hierarchy:
The platoon is led by Benthennes himself as the commanding captain. All recruited troops would need to have experience in firearms combat and siege engineering. However, realized it would be crippled without some sense of flexibility, the platoon is also being split into Squads with specialized roles in each, which in turn are led by a sergeant each:
The Gear Squad: Sapper, Siege Deployment, Demolition
The Plate Squad: Heavy Support
The Scope Squad: Stealth & Reconnaissance
Not being the full scale of a battalion, the troops must rely on their comrade’s competence and loyalty in the battlefield to overcome the overwhelming risky odds, which is encouraged during training and also in the field. Discipline and Duty are also vital points for the platoon, of course. Any rebelling, inappropriate or disobedient behaviour will be dealt with accordingly just like in anyother military organization.
Events:
Currently, the guild is on the early stage of recruitment. But once enough active members are gathered and viable, the Platoon will hold RP events which mostly consist of on-duty contents. The major ones are planned to be held in the World vs World maps and some areas outside the Captial Cities. If enough by numbers, the Platoon will intend to establish foothold in key points of the WvW maps. More details will come when the guild progresses on.
Who can join?
I will explain the “Limited” part of the profession first. Due to the slightly constrained difference of each profession’s weapon skills and the combat style they represent, along with the theme this guild is aiming for, not every profession is suitable here. To clarify further, your character needs to be able to wield firearms, turrets, bombs and such, whereas magic contradicts this. Therefore, the most favoured professions to join this guild are Warriors, Engineers and Thieves for the moment.
HOWEVER;
Even if the slots of professions are limited, it doesn’t mean it’s definate. If you can convince your character, for example being a elementalist, still has a style that could somehow fit in with the aforementioned theme the guild represents then the chances might becomes slightly higher to join. This will require a very thoughtful explanation however. This is NOT to pick down potential members just because they picked “the wrong profession”, the enthusiasm itself to even apply is well appreciated. The main reason is to upkeep the theme of the guild’s RP as intact as possible. In short: Nothing personal, mate.
The Guild OOC-wise
Besides the RP aspects, the guild aims of course to be as friendly-going and as enjoyable as possible, to be played as it should be in Guild Wars 2, fun. Therefore, it’s crucial that each member is personally responsible to keep it like that. Any internal conflicts/flaming/negative drama and so forth should then be addressed to the officer(s) as soon as possible, to solve properly before it escalates.
How to Apply
There are several ways to apply for The Blazing Gear Platoon;
Out of Character, you whisper to Erithan Benthennes in-game, send a PM here or an in-game mail.
If you wish to approach In Character, either search for him personally or send a dossier via mail.
Hint: For best first impression, it would be best to address him as Captain. :P
