The reason I don't play Elementalist

1. Elementalist Staff: only good for pve with super boring rotation. In PvP it is used as healing/support only weapon.
2. Necromancer Staff: Utility only weapon with super low dmg.
3. Mesmer Staff, low dmg, not that bad with condi stats, but still low.

Ele Staff – in fact not that bad in WvW or even low sPvP. Very strong fire autoattack, good fire AOE for zerg fights. Just stay with friends and dps.

Necro Staff – the best weapon in game for ground control and attacking the wall defenders. Has fear (shines with a fear/shout builds). All condi necros (so 80% of them) prefer to use it.

Mesmer Staff – shines for condi builds, good protection. Very underrated in fact – at this moment much better than greatsword for non-glass cannon burst builds.

Remove energy cost from weapon skills

Let me rephrase that. People believe they can spam skills when there is no energy cost for weapon skills, but Anet will increase the cooldowns to compensate that so you won’t be spamming much. Or they will be just made weaker. I really fail to see why this is better.

Cooldowns on revenant weapons are already same or compatible with other professions. Simply compare “Sword” or “Axe” in wiki.

In the addition – they are usually bugged.
Mace – 2 of 3 skills are bugged. Sword – 2 of 3 skills are bugged. (In fact – EVERY skill except auto-attack.)
Axe – 1 of 2.

kitten , that’s a scary statistics… I would say that someone in development sabotaging the job or they already developing something else and don’t care much about the game.

I’d rather have slightly higher costs on utilities.

In fact utilities already cost too much for me.
As an example – in Mallyx I use only (~90%) “Pain Absorption”, cause it costs 35, and using something else will bring your into vulnerable state, when you will be unable to stun break/gain resistance. Add the fact, that resistance will not clean conditions from you, and when it will fall down – you will get something like 3-4k bleed damage per second. So, when you are facing a high condi pressure (any competent necromacer) you are forced almost not to attack to save some energy – or you will be unable to stunbreak when/if he will freeze/fear you.
I wish I would use “Unyielding Anguish” much more, but it costs 30, with a Mace N3 change (leaping out) it lost synergy.

Renegade (beta) will not be good in PvE

The eliteskill is fixed right now and provides 800 damage per used skill for up to 5 teammembers which alone is allready a major damage increase.

vs herald with ~10+ might stacks to everyone, that will give much more then 800dps to five people.

And one more, the major thing.

Renegade gameplay is boring. Even tetris will give you more fun and challenge.

With revenenat – ofc you should continue. He is below average, bugged, but still fun to play.
With renegade – ofc no. It’s boring, PvE only, poorly designed, and he will stay like that for ~1 year until Anet will redesign it.

Power rev and condi removal

Imo, regarding WvW roaming, they are quite good at facing power builds in general and usually can melt through tankier ones too. Well timed heals and evades + blocks make for some crazy sustain in power controlled fights.
With the exception of thieves though, they just shut down rev or kite him, but that’s not a rev only related thing.

To be honest I have problems with good power warriors – too many stun/knockdown skills.
Condi warriors are usually not so dangerous.

Rev’s are notoriously weak to conditions. When they made the class, they decided this should be it’s weakness. They just made it too glaring.

Problem with Kala is just an absolute absence of logic. She had a greatsword… If renegade would have a greatsword – no one would say a word.
But since we will be granted with a shortbow – we want to see any logic behind this legendary.
…yes, I know – Anet will not change all the animation/sounds or skills that are already done, no matter how we frustrate here, lol

Still Pain Absorption has twice worse cast time – 0,5s. As an example – yesterday I was stunned at full hp , and tried to stun breaker it… Was interrupted 3 times and died, lol

Pain Absorption (https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Pain_Absorption) is the only stun breaker that has a cast time, and as a result – it’s often impossible to break stun against stun/daze spam, especially in WvW, when you can be attacked by multiple opponents at the same time.
It would be good if this skill will be instant – like all other stun breakers.

0 stun breaks (there is 1, on ulti and will cost you 50 energy…)
heal affected by poison (will remove poison AFTER the heal)

so, while this stance got taunt and stability… it’s PvE only stance at the same time

heal should be fixed
next – one of utility skills should be also a stun breaker
price of stability (Inspiring Reinforcement) should be lowered – 35 energy is too much

maybe that will make this stance little bit better..

P.S.: I just checked PvP anbd PvE versions of some skills – they are much better in PvP version, maybe PvP versions should also work in WvW?

I hope this is a joke.
Cause swords skills (at least for main hand) are fine, and work as they should work.
Hammer is an imba nobrainer at this moment.

If some things need to be fixed – it should be off-hand sword (5th – unblockable maybe? cause it is expensive and usually pointless) and mace is almost useless – too hard to hit anyone who don’t want to stand still (slow skills executions, no target).

IMO for condi build – revenant has its place – heavy armor tanky condi DPS… (except that mace skills are complete trash for PvP, with no aiming they can’t do anything against any skilled opponent).
But that’s it.

And yes, hammer builds are so lame and boring… 2 buttons, tons of damage, 0 player skills.

Stun breaker combined with a heal…
No stability.
No condi clear (trust me – there is no difference between 7s root or 5s root, you will be dead in both cases).
No mobility.

In fact at this moment renegade looks like PvE or WvW backline “pres 1-1-1” brainless zerg spammer. Just like hammer rev, but now condi based. Wow…

To be honest – I would prefer to keep my current build, but with ability to wield a bow.

Discussed this issue just a few days ago.
Energy cost really made some skills almost never used – as an example “banish enchantment”. It’s a “ok” skill , but who use it? It costs 20 energy, and I would prefer to save this energy for a stun breaker. That makes the game boring…
Same situation with some other skills of different Legends. And that’s why I love Glint – I can use all of her skills.

All weapon skills has cooldowns, so you can’t spam them. Only thiefs can spam their skills.
Even all of yours legend skills got cooldowns, and no one asks to remove the cooldowns from them.
We just trying to say that cooldowns (like all professions) AND energy cost (like thiefs) is too much.

Absolutely agree with this.
That’s IMO one of the major flaws of Reve design. And that at least can be fixed without a major rebalancing.
The second one is “legend = your skills”, so no diversity at all.

There’s no class stacking btw, but yes it does dominate teamfights. To have a rev in a teamfight is a huge advantage. If 1 team has a rev in a teamfight and the other doesn’t, then that team has an advantage except in certain cases of full counter comp. Simply put: any mirror matchup, where 1 team has 1 class swapped out for a rev, then they’re at an advantage (x + y + rev > x + y + z). That’s just an example, doesn’t have to be a mirror, applies for almost any teamfight apart from exceptions of counter comps.

Mate, just check any top-5 teams in prev world tournament. They got nearly the same build, professions, etc.
So your words about “xxy > xxx” could be applied to ANY profession in that builds. Your logic is kinda flawed

And as we said – no1 argue about boon duration. It’s a team balance. We don’t like that cons of revenants (lack of stun breakers and stability) became even worse.

That’s called “support” . Have a support in a group is always an advantage, if other group does not have any.

Also you can check any team build in previous tournaments – teams are nearly the same, so your words will be accurate for necro, mesmer, etc…

This patch nerfed the support role (boon duration) , and that’s ok imo. The problem (for me) is in a stability nerf. Revenant does not have usable stun breakers, and now no reliable stability. And that is the issue.

I have only one problem – Mastery Points…
I want to do legendary weapon, so I need to lots of them. And to be honest – I just fail at that minor games. I made lots of them to a silver grade, but some I can’t do even bronze. And I don’t like them…
May be I will be forced to go for Raids, but the same story – that’s not my part of the game.
Don’t know what to do to be honest.

Imo Mace skills need some rework – they are too slow for that mediocre damage output. Also demon stance skills need to be cheaper – 35 for 3s Pain Absorption is too much imo.

Mesmers skill Fencer’s Finesse (Duelling line) that must give a stacks of ferocity on your sword attacks, or attacks of illusions – also gives them on your main weapon attack if sword is offhand, and that is bug. As an example you can equip scepter in main hand and sword offhand, and your skills and attacks by scepter will grant you stacks of ferocity.

I was thinking about trib mode, and got some idea. If u played “Portal 2” – u remember that multiplayer mode in it. And that “puzzles” for 2 players. And it was really nice.
So… May be in future Box will have some mode and puzzles (w/e, buttons, idk) for 2+ players?

pugs arent gonna trust that you have mad jump skillz, or knowledge of the path.
the experience can be… frustrating… if 2 people take 10 minute forum breaks every 5 mins because the 3rd person is inexperienced.

and… get better friends if your friends are saying this.

I was shouting near the entrance. Almost all of my friends said that they will not do this event, and some made weapon skin …and will not go to the box ever more =)
So, as i said – it’s an event for “first wave” – when all have interest and it’s easy to find party, or for solo play. In bot ways – i think it’s wrong.

I was busy IRL, and missed event start, when all people run event and teach each other.
And now when i tried to find party for tri mode (i want to make that weapon skin, that’s all) – no one is doing it, and everyone say: “u better do it solo, like we all do”.

But.. You know – Guild Wars 2 is a mupltiplayer game. If i want to play solo – i better play tons of game with a good singleplayer. So.. Imo there is some mistake in concept of a adventure box. It is “do it solo, or forget about it”. That’s boring, you know?

If it is dueling build 1 vs 1 – almost no chances with usual builds (not 1 vs 1 like phantasm build). Simply he will be to tanky and eternal stun/interrupts with hammer and rampage, and very long stability. The only thing that realy help – arcane thievery, w/o stability and with that long stability on u – fight will be much more easy.
(i was talking about dueling build, with usual hammer warrior – dodging and keeping range with blink and invis – is enough).

Sad but true.

Add:
Any zerg, even very good organized (such as good PvP oriented guild) need only 2 mesmers – for 2 veils. They also love Null Field and Time Warp (cause it’s ethereal), but that’s all.
In small group fights – such as sPvP or roaming – mesmer show himself much better, but atm – u can look at sPvP section – overnerfed.

The phantasm summon skill cannot be evaded like every summon skill cant be, like necro minions or thieves guild, the only difference between these skills is just that phantasm will just chase one target, but their attacks can be evaded.

Phantam summon skill can be easy evaded, like any weapon skill. It NEED target, and mesmer must not be blinded, etc

Well, imo they can nerf w/e at this moment. Mesmer can not be worse then now.

We can not create phantasms (our 1/3+ source of damage in almost any) build if target dodged, if we blinded (hi thiefs), without a target (hi thiefs again). We got thery poor condition removers, and even 1h sword attaks was nerfed (that was shock for me, cause i compared with other class sword attack damage).

So, really – it can not be worse at this moment. Mesmer = veil bot @ www, now not even portal bot in PvE, and useless guy in sPvP.

Even new confusion runes rock for engi, bot not for mesmer, lol

So… to be honest, we hove nothing to loose, and arena.net will boost us only when there will be almost no mesmers at all.

I made a 1st solo instance part on a newbie character, and now can’t enter the instance on big one, and can’t do anything with event – it is not for lowbies, that did not opened the world. So, i’m stuck and have a kittened choice to grind levels and maps on lowbie… Or send the event to hell.
That’s .. not right?

Not many people like charrs anyway in my opinion which is another reason why they go for them first. I get that pvp treatment all the time, but luckily thanks to good teammates and my whirlwind during GvG. As long the enemies focus on me my team will succeed and if they don’t they feel my wrath lol.

But i’m rerolling from sylvari mesmer to charr mesmer. And… Very few good light armor for males (imo t1 only) , and is i said – charr got more agro, so it will be harder to play… (but this is a fun part, but still less combat advantage)

Charr pay to much attention to himself in mass pvp. My girlfriend play charr necro, and in GvG (and mass pvp) she took much more damage then other necro in our team, cause all of them play asura or humans. When she changed her character size to minimum (for charr), damage on her reduced. Simple statistic, but fact.
That’s people psychology, bigger model – bigger threat, easier to target, etc =) U can do nothing with it.

Your illusion don’t have offhand. (ArenaNet still do nothig to fix base things)
So, in WvWvW you will shine like hell with anomaly, and your illusions will be w/o it.. So, no chances to “confuse” some1 with clones.

There’s a trait to remove a condition on shatter but it’s at the end of a trait line and there’s a cool down I think.

1 condition per a shattered clone/illusion is pathetic in my opinion for a 30point trait in not a very good tree. We have one for on heal, so combined with the Mantra heal its not to shabby but the Mantra heal isnt that great and neither is the location of the trait

I rejected to use Mantra heal even in my mantra build. In WvWvW lags heal simply not work, so when it became not so laggy for 1 sec – better use big heal. And second reason – it’s just bad and not effective, even with 3 uses.

Null Field works quite well for condition removal.

The thing about AT is the fact that you also takes boons from the target, which could become quite OP with a lower CD.

Null field is nice, but only in mass pvp. 40s cooldown, etc.
Yes, lesser cooldown on AT will make mesmer stronger, but… We are at the bottom atm. And 20s cooldown is not much imo. It will not up the class on next tier =)

At this moment main mesmer defence problem is conditions. In mantra build (to be honest i use it) “Mantra of resolve” solves the problem in small fights, but for all others – “Arcane thievery” is the only skill that can help in 1 vs 1 fights. But…. It’s cooldown…
Versus necro is totally useless – they stack tons of conditions on u, and have no problems with put them again. To be honest same problem with all classes, cause of too big “arcane thievery” cooldown, even with trait to reduce it.
So, may be u will reduce it slightly? To 20s or something like that. It will make our kitten class more playable.

I want to sign too, to show my support to Scuk.3751. I played with him, and he did not gave any reasons to doubt him in any 3d side program usage.

And more of this – i want to know, what exactly can give Arena.net any cause to suspect a player. I have programmable keyboard, mouse and video recorder (and also i play GW2 on linux sometimes). All of this is a legal software, but if this can be a occasion – tell us please.
Supports words “I am unable to provide you with any more detailed information regarding our detection methods” – give no understanding to players about what software can be installed/work on our PC.

It’s my first Guild Wars 2 video, so please don’t be too dogmatic =)
I use mantra build, cause it’s universal. It’s not so powerful 1 vs 1 kittenter or phantasm, but much better in team/mass fights.

Video contains few 1 vs 1 fights, and a nice mass pvp fight.

I play mantra build. It’s awesome for solo and small party play (both PvE and PvP), but lack of big team or zerg advantages – slot skills are filled by mantras, not by veil/portal etc.

Warden has the worst dps out of all the phantasms, what it has it the highest burst, reflection, AoE damage and bleeds. You actually need take work to use its full potential.

No, it’s burst still sux. iBerserker is much better, and iDuelist, and even iSwordsman.

I’m Assuming you mean PTV, and if that were the case you wouldn’t be doing enough damage to spike yourself down with retal.

Yap, PTV =) And still try to use AoE combo (field from staff + iBerserker + Mirror Blade + 1more clone and shatter), continue to hit – ooops, u lost 1/3 to 2/3 of hp.

Clones dont have offhands, carry players buffs, strafe, roll or move anywhere but towards their target, the real Mes is easy to spot.

Yes, dude. And now go and look some video in this mesmer section, and u will see – people HAVE problem with it. And the smaller player model – the more problem people have.
It’s a simple fact.
