this game is almost 3 years old and they are just now fixing camera collision, i wouldnt hold my breath for a simplified lfg filter anytime soon although i am all for it.

erg I just hate threads that start with “Am I the only one…”.
and so you came to a thread you dont like just post that you dont like it? Okay then…
Bottom line, anet will NEVER disable this conversion because they make a large profit, this is common sense. This post is pointless.
I paid $40 for this game. Bank space is NOT a luxury. Maybe the 4th or 5th “tab” would start to become optional, but one is NOT enough AT ALL. I should easily have 3x as much bank space by default or it should be easily unlockable via a few gold or level gating.
Now I’m not going to spend a dime on your cash shop just because I feel like you’re greedy.
And don’t even try to post that you can get it for free. You’d have to drop >100g or 5k achievement points on ONE extra tab. That’s a lot of playtime- it’d feel good to put it towards something fun. Instead you need a bank tab so you can stop using your character slots for storage space.
One tab is frankly bullkitten. Don’t charge me $40 for a game then demand I drop another $10 to be able to store a tiny fraction of the stuff I get in the first 10 hours of play.
Dont come to the forums complaining about anything because you will only find tons and tons of biasm from players defending anet’s every decision no matter how obviously flawed something is.
i disagree, i only roll a warrior and 1v1 i make everything melt very very fast. The only prof i have problems with sometimes are rangers. also im in full zerker meta with a few ascended pieces and weapons. If you know how to play your proff you shouldnt have problems with dps. Regardless of all the warrior nerfs im still content with my personal dps.
i agree with everything in this article

Just like anything in life, keep your expectations low that way you can be pleasantly surprised If things surpass your expectations. Theres not many things that i personally am blown away by that has been announced for the expac yet but thats not gonna stop me from playing it, im keeping a neutral mind set until it releases and i can actually play it.
Back in old GW1 you could have up to four weapon sets, but some people here are clearly too young to remember that…
^^ this, my god this soooo hard haha And i agree! they need to bring back some of the mechanics in that game, it would be nice to have a weapon set for ranged weapons because arms is so dependant on axe/mace in main hand and there are some fights were being upclose to melee dps is just not a viable option. Being able to swap to ranged on the fly would be great.
Mace in off hand, axe in main hand, get close enough to enemy player, Smash fury signet and fgj, then smash mace #5, weapon swap to gs, smash #2, then #3, if said player is still alive somehow, smash gs #4 And then #5. Boom, problem solved.
expecting players to dish out 40-60$ for a boxed extended geographical part of maguuma with one new proff…gimmie a break, thats a slap to the face to players who have put thousands of hours in..
1. $40-$60? You have no source for how much the expansion is going to cost, no one does.
2. “Extended geographical part of maguuma” It’s expanded content, it’s a huge update, for the past 3 years every single content update you have received, you have paid NOTHING for.
3. “Slap to the face to players who have put thousands of hours in” no, it’s really not, you whinging over the expansion having a cost tied to it is what’s a slap in the face, for the past 3 years you’ve had the ability to play guild wars 2 for nothing other than the initial cost of the base game while also receiving updates that cost you NOTHING.
4. You have NO idea how much content is going to be in the expansion, we know we’re getting 3 biomes, but we have no idea how many maps will be put in to these biomes, each biome could have more than 1 map, we do not know.
So stop whining and feeling like you’re entitled to everything for free, A-Net put time and money into making this content for us, if you’re not willing to pay for it, then you do not deserve it.
1. judging off of market prices for EVERY EXPANSION THAT HAS BEEN RELEASED FOR ANY GAME has always cost roughly 40$. I paid 30$ for every expansion of gw1 that came out so saying its not going to be around that price is a very misguided opinion based off of your defense of the product.
2. If i am PAYING for an EXPANSION, i as the consumer want my moneys worth. The living seasons have not lived up to their expectations. An expanded part of 1 zone is not an expansion, thats more or less a large update patch.
3. Reread number 2.
4. Again youve clearly skimmed through my original statement, i didnt say i knew anything i simply stated “the released details so far are lacking” keywords there are released so far* lacking* please read a dictionary and educate yourself the difference between the words assumption* and released*
http://i.word.com/idictionary/assumption
Not one time did i mention i am entitled to anything for free, i already stated if im paying X amount of money for an expansion i should be recieving X amount of content. the reason why this player base has dropped significantly is because thers is a lack of content after 80. If you deny this youre clearly looking a blind eye. If you look at gw2 competitors and compare 1st released expansions youll see there is a large difference in content released. This game needs more than 1 zone and an a proff is expects to have a long life ahead of it.
Yeah, basically i’m wondering as I’ve used my two for legendaries already. I realllly don’t have time nor want to redo map completion for new specialization legendaries. Yes I am lazy.
Sounds like a personal problem, not a problem with the game’s design. I get that you want more rewards for less effort, but that just isn’t going to happen. You know what you have to do. It’s not hard. Do one zone a day, or even just a few hearts/POIs/waypoints/vistas a day. It takes time, but it cna be done. I’ve done it on two characters so far and almost a third (very casually of course with no real rush or goal in mind).
Errm, nope im sorry but having to complete all original zones on top of new areas brought by the expac is asking way too much grinding from the player and would deviate away from solving grinding legendary fatigue, thats just too much and most likely wont happen.
Thousands of pages, huh? lol
And no one asked or a new profession? No one asked for new skills for their old profession? No one asked for new traits? No one asked for new maps?
I think some people don’t actually read the forums. Many things that have been asked for, including guild halls, are coming with this expansion.
Guild halls were something along with GvG that anyone should have expected DAY ONE with a sequel to GUILD wars. And were even promised by Anet tons of times to be in “future updates”.
This expansion seems more like a major patch with a new class tacked on.
I completely agree. This game has been out for almost 3 years now and they arent even giving out new races or a brand new continent that we havent been to yet. expecting players to dish out 40-60$ for a boxed extended geographical part of maguuma with one new proff…gimmie a break, thats a slap to the face to players who have put thousands of hours in. The released details of this expac so far are definitely lacking atm.
I apoligize if this has been asked in another thread but are there any plans of anet bringing back the phantoms hood? That hood Is very wicked looking but wiki says it was only released once around a previous halloween.
I see players every day complain this game is too hard. Therefore a majority of players must think that. Logical fallacy is false.
Ergo…
Aside from the fact that I don’t believe you see people in mapchat complaining about this every day (I play more hours than you, I can almost guarantee it) and maybe I see a complaint in map chat once a week.
I never see players complaining this game is too hard. Therefore only a minority of players think that. Logical fallacy is false.
;)
Lol this game is too easy if anything, there really is no hardmode for the hardcore players in this game. It just needs more balancing.
My healing signet only works when im ooc not during a fight, and i can only click it once and hope im not getting smacked hard whereas a dedicated healer would have me covered so i can get back in the fight. I really dont understand the opinion of not having a healer since this game is a meta build anyway. im not expecting anything but if you feel this game has no need for a healer, youre sadly mistaken. There are some situational fights (lupi for example) where a healer should be a mandatory meta. Why are you defending the no healer argument? State some factual evidence instead of trying to condescend me for playing.
Believe it or not, the holy trinity actually promotes anti-diversity, as it is just another meta, but it is a less accessible meta. Everyone can play all roles is the point of Guild Wars 2 system. And, healing signet? That heals constantly, not just OOC. If you want to have a healer in your party, that’s fine, you can make your own party using the LFG tool to play with people you want (just like everyone else does). Punishing everyone that bought the game because it had no holy trinity, certainly isn’t the way to go about it.
Okay youre clearly misreading my statements, im saying theres a definite purpose having a healing meta not necessarily a holy trinity. Secondly no one is pushing anyone and you dont represent the entire player base as there are alot of people that would enjoy playing a healing based proffession so again not really sure where your source is coming from that its not as accessible. and the healing signet is worthless as you always take more incoming damage than it heals per second.
You know there’s more than one warrior heal, right? It’s your own choice to take a passive heal over an active heal.
Yes im aware theres other active heals that heal you ONE time. Or remove a condition ONE time. Then they go on cooldown for X amount of seconds.
Which is all you need if you have enough skill at the game. If you feel a need to take a healer in your party, go for it, nothing is stopping you from making your own LFG party.
Lol you do realize you can only dodge twice in a row right? You must be super pro if you only need to heal yourself one time throughout an entire boss fight, like world class realm first mmo 5% of the entire player base type of pro. But remove my endurance bar and give me infinite dodge, i’ll have all the skill in the world.
Here is a video guide if you need assistance.
Ive already watched all of nike’s videos and the problem with that is you have to make a specialized group build which takes significantly more time then needed. I think you need to play other real mmos for awhile and then comeback to gw2 to really grasp the situation and why having a zerker dominated meta is toxic for a game thats refuses to have a healer meta to heal them. This game supports “diversity, any proff any weapon” but has mostly 1 popular build. Anyway i can provide you with some other mmo’s if you need help getting educated as to why a healer should be implemented in a dungeon or pvp setting message me, if you need assisstance.

That’s what dodging and moving around is for.
I play an elementalist. I don’t have a healing signet like warriors do. I have a signet that grants me healing per cast, but that’s less than a warriors per second. And warrior signet is active while stunned, etc. Elementalists aren’t. Because we aren’t casting.
If I’m actually moving around and dodging, I rarely need a heal. And if I do, my heal covers me. And I don’t use my healing signet. Because I prefer my glyph.
And even if I’m not moving around and dodging like I should, my heal still covers me.
So no, I’m not seeing this need for a dedicated healer.
Yea thats easy for you to say when youre speaking from a ranged dps opinion, you get to safely dps a boss where as a melee dps is standing in the hit box to dps a boss and cant get out of large aoe fast enough.

Here we go with everyone chiming in on the forums disagreeing with everything any poster has ever said. I, however am all for a trinity or a group wide healing build. I dont really care how “pro” you claim to be or “you need to learn damage mitigation and dodge better”, stop before you even start. this is a game based on aoe damage, and face tanking just like ever other major mmo. There shouldve been a healing build at launch. My 2 cents.
Phoenix axe looks pretty awesome.
You logged 4700 hours, finally got a precursor, for the jugg, freak out and get all excited, you spam chat in all cap just to sell it on the TP…really? That basically contradicts your excitement unless you just wanted alot of gold. I really hope you dont regret that decision in the future.
judging by the ad anet placed a little while ago hiring for raid content designers with experience, i would say they are going to somewhat implement skills and traits for certain proffesions to make them indirect roles to makes raids possible.
Frankly, I would rather have an eager noob in my party with yellow gear who is curious about mechanics and willing to learn than a moronic nub in exotic tank gear with 20k AP who still doesn’t know what defiance is
^this. I completely agree but the problem is pug leaders dont give new players the chance to learn. Im only going off of experience, as im a newer player myself. Even watching youtube, researching on the internet and reading wiki and dulfy to learn dungeons doesnt mean jack to veteran pug leaders. I have been playing for 1 solid month and i have almost 900 APs and im in full CoF zerker gear, including accesories and an ascended trinket. As being an ex-hardcore WoW raider, i find the only challenging thing to do in this game is run exp dungeons and i have including arah and fractals but there is no way for a pug leader to know that so they go off what your AP says and oh sorry you dont have enough / AP is not high enough you dont know what youre doing, kicked*
Statistically someone with under 1000 or 2000 AP is going to be very new at the dungeon and much more likely to be a headless chicken. While this does not mean 100%, players are not entitled to not be filtered until groups get better filtering options.
Here’s the bottom line: if I can avoid a possible risk and form my group in a similar amount of time, then I will statistically have a higher chance of a smooth run.
Those who are hurt by this hedging can be the first in line to petition ANet for better filtering options, and I will be the second in line with them.
there should definitely be some type of filter system because if there was i would not run any dungeons with players who are above 10k. In fact i have ran dungeons with “more than 10k APs will be kicked” all day yesterday and i had pretty enjoyable runs with 5-8k players. I did end up kicking 2 players though after they joined asking why i have 10k AP kicked and i explained to them i dont want to play with anyone who has a ridiculous amount of APs as all of you usually tend to be snobby know it alls. Otherwise no problems, as that solved all the drama for me.
one day i will have 10k ap, i would probably have 10k ap by now if i kept playing, and i generally go with the flow in dungeons, so i dont think the stereotype is accurate, but whatever floats your boat.
The same can be said for judging players with low AP score though, its a bad stereotype and thats the problem.
You could have it set by total item rarity checks. Such as having 6 out 15 exotics in slot as minimum or something as an example or basically just X amount of exotics equipped with pug leaders choice that way if you dont meet the threshold you wont even be allowed to join.

I agree definitely, no other mmo that i have played has been as mean and brutal towards other players especially to new players who stumble into an exp dungeon for the first time. Not even WoW is that bad during heroic dungeons, people are extremely helpful. The fact that a majority of “elite” gw2 players kick other players out of dungeons just because their AP arent in the thousands is ridiculous which is an absolutley terrible way to judge skill. Im a newer player and my brother is the one who brought me into gw2 and hes been playing since 2013 but his AP’s are only in the 900’s because he plays casually and he still gets kicked just because of that.
And he gets kicked precisely because people don’t want someone who plays casually. If they wanted that 900 ap would be fine.
They want someone who’s been playing since 2012 on release – who averages 3-4 hours every day and has played each day ever since the game came out.
They want someone at 20k AP who knows the game by heart. You can’t expect people who don’t want to play with casual players to force themselves to do it just because.
Find people who will accept and teach you the basics. Learn, Improve and in time you’ll run with the experienced players.
im guessing youre one of these elitists since you can state that “people dont want” youre saying that every single person who does not have 20k APs and has not been been playing since launch, (a very large majority of the entire player base) doesnt know any of the dungeon mechanics and is not good enough to run dungeons with you and your people? Lol again youve missed the point…. /sigh

An undead greatsword that has a demons soul trapped in it that randomly talks to you when youre wielding it telling you to feed it souls or to release “me” and says interesting things that may have happened or will happen on the future (random gw lore), has evil demonish looking skulls by the hilt, has awesome green particle effects that drip, leaves a ghostly demon face when swiped similar to the smeared color trail of twilight/sunrise/eternity, and steals 2+ hp on crit and poisons. Basically a mix between corrupted ash bringer and frostmourne from WoW.
(edited by GiraffeRampage.6420)
Also, anyone below 3k AP is nearly always new to dungeons and doesn’t know how to play. Sub 1k AP 80’s make no sense and ALWAYS have no idea what they’re doing at all.
Again this is my exact point as to why going off AP score is a terrible way to judge someones skill. To counter your opinion, do you kick someone who has an AP of 750 but has full zerker CoF gear and exotic weapons? Because obviously they have ran that particular dungeon a few dozen times. but i guess going off what you claim, they clearly dont know what their doing…..give me a break, please. Stop judging off AP score, its very inaccurate of someones skill at their proff and mechanics of dungeons.
im all for mounts, 10man raids, more “serious” less comical legendaries, dungeon only exotic drops, increase charr and norn movement speed. So far those are my things id like to see in the future.
if you join a zerker only group and youre a warrior in full exotic zerker gear and have an ascended gs, with ascended rings and amulet but a low AP score and get kicked because of it, before anyone including the pug leader has even bothered to look at your gear or doesnt even ask you to ping it, thats a design flaw and its unfair. They should remove pug leader having the ability to kick, and replace it with a group based vote.

I completely agree with everything you said.
Yes but in the grander scheme of things it makes more sense for specific weapons to drop in specific dungeons as the rng isnt as completely random as world boss drops, its more of an incentive to keep coming back to a particular dungeon to get something you need.
I agree, however if the ticket system would be taken out, it would really ruin the game for me. Meaning that the drops should only have the same % chance as those in that collection. Also another similar system is fractal skins.
Well my idea wouldnt affect that skin youd want. Lets put it like this, you want X weapon and i want Y weapon skin. My Y skin only drops from Y dungeon boss. Your X skin would still be a gauranteed rng drop from any world boss and your X skin could still fall from Y dungeon boss or any dungeon boss / dungeon trash mob. However my Y skin i can only get from Y dungeon from Y boss. I guess im saying more it would be pretty cool for specific exsclusitivity other than grinding out for a legendary.
It would be cool if you know that X boss drops X exotic sword for X dungeon that has X stats that fits your build, that would be a really fun way of playing the rng game.
that’s what the exotic collection about. Specific champions drop specific loot. You should look into it

Welcome to the community, as a fellow newer player, one of the big tips i can give you is when you hit 35 you should start running dungeons because you level up extremely fast and its best to learn the exporable mode fight mechanics as early as possible. But be very careful joining lfg pugs that arent specific in the party description, as you will be judged and kicked quickly from alot of pugs until your achievement points are 1k, thats how most people in pugs skill / gear check in this game right now.
Id have to agree with the OP in that specific weapons dont drop from certain bosses or mobs either in dungeons or out in the world, its like a double edged sword in that its fun to play the rng game knowing there is a VERY low drop chance for a precursor on any level mob but at the same time it kindve takes the fun out of knowing a boss in particular doesnt drop something you specifically want such as a weapon or gear. It would be cool if you know that X boss drops X exotic sword for X dungeon that has X stats that fits your build, that would be a really fun way of playing the rng game.
Pushing 200 most of the time, but ocassionally getting 40-70 depending on area and number of people on screen at once. I also have a highend rig, asus gtx 970, i7-4790k, 8gbs of ram, @1080p.
Nope skins are all opinion based, everyone disagrees with you.
I was corrected on the forum the other day about something similar, this game is meant for complete casuals as in logging on one hour every two days. casuals dont have time to actually learn a fight or mechanics, its too hardcore for them.
I can’t help but wonder what type of person would really want to a thread with such a rude subject. You do know that it’s actual human beings with real thoughts and emotions that designed those skins, right?
Again, this ALL SUBJECTIVE AND OPINION. I paid for this game just like you did and i can state my opinion.
Id question what type of individual you are but i already know, you are all that is wrong with america, please take your sensitive liberal comments somewhere else, thanks.
There already is a system like this in place and its called achievement points. Thats how the elitists know if youre good or not.
Thats sarcasm.
New weapons for heart of thorns expansion

I know this is a bit of a stretch that most likely wont happen BUT i think it would be cool for certain proffessions like the warrior, to be able to dual wield GS’s which would eliminate a need for having a second set of weapons to swap out to, it could easily be implemented as a mastery. Plus i think due to all the nerfs warriors have been getting, it would be a nice compensation from anet.
NOOOOO
Greatswords should never be dual wielded. Ever. It completely defeats the purpose of greatswords being two handed weapons. We already have the ability to dual wield swords. We don’t need the ability to dual wield giant swords.
Again its a mastery that you WOULDNT have to take if you dont want to, no one is forcing you to do it. Not sure how familiar you are with this game but other proffesions that can dual wield. And most warriors would agree that dual wielding GS’s would just look completely awesome, it could be specifically locked into the warrior mastery skill line.
A warrior with a duel wielding GS mastery would be pretty awesome and could be implemented easily. It could be a choice of take this mastery but forfeit swapping hands to a different set of weapons.
