GEAR PROGRESSION WITHOUT A GEAR PROGRESSION IN THE MAIN GAME
For now we’ve got Exotic Armors, what’s great, cause thats the basic, what every person should gain, if that person want to be pretty good, and able to do some PvE/WvWvW stuff easier. Its ok. We can gain it in the different ways, what’s cool, cause IMO exotics should be just a set, which allows u to do some ingame stuff. We can get it from dungeons, wvw, bla bla… OK. In time, you guys have added ascended gear too, and its a good addition to these exotics – we’ve got better stats, but that’s still similar. It’s fine. And people who have these exotics, or even ascended armors ofc should be able to enjoy the most of content. Like… They should be able to do some dungeons without a problem, fractals, guild missions, story, WvWvW, and this all kinds of normal, fun content.

And at the same time there should appear a gear progression. Yeah, do not be afraid of it. IMO well-done gear progress can be really successful.
Dont u think, that it would be enough, if u create a huge mode called “RAIDS”, and then you’ll make special armors, that people can gain, and wear just there? They would use these armors only in this mode – like in PvP we’re using other items. But in this PvE mode called Raids players would progres items which have better, and better stats. Players would progress first raids, gain these items, and then they would be able to get next, and next – and lets give them a reward for it (exept items… like… titles, leaderboards etc). Let them progress it.
And what’s more, all this will not affect the main game content If some people dont want to play it, then they’ll dont – like right now, not every1 is playing PvP. They will not feel deprived, cause entire game will be free of difference statistics, and gear progression. But ofc u can ask how about people who want to raid, but they just cant do it well. That’s simple – they’ll work on it – maybe slower, but hey! They’ve got a challenge!
But what’s important – when we’re talking about raids, then you have to know one important thing: People must have a role there. Clearly defined role and if they’ll fail, then all raid fails. This mode must be well made. And whats interesting – when its going to be a separate mode like pvp, then ur able to make some changes there – like add some special skills, traits or smt (just for this mode). And what’s interesting – imo these raids would be a content for guilds. And let every member of a guild join there – dont limit it for some players. Just make any scaling system or smt. Then guilds would appear on leaderboards.

Then you’ve got professional made PvP, and PvE mode in your game.
And at the same time we’ve got open, fantasy world too, where we’re able to do a lot of things I think it could work. Think about it too.

Open world: story, dungs, fractals, guild missions, puzzles, wvwvw, etc, etc…
PvP: like right now – separate mode, where every1 is using gear with the same stats, and people have to practice. Leaderboards, seasons, titles, etc, etc…
*PvE: separate mode, where people have got raids, where they can progres their raid gear. Also there should be leaderboards for it, titles, etc etc… *

Now this ladies and gentlemen is a winning post. I’ve always dreamed of raids, but didn’t see them possible in GW2 and this guy comes and tells that you can have them simply as that When i think about it, it’s the same sPvP principle… I just can’t hold my excitement that the raids are really possible ^.^
Addressing the progression systems topic, I really like ones where you get something special to wield as a bonus to go deep in a tree (I guess FF XII is something similar).
For example:
Profession goes x points in a specific tree – BOOM ! You can now wield bazooka.
Prof. goes x in one tree and y in another – WHAM ! You mastered how to use nunchakus.
I think this would add more uniqueness to a play / player style.

Only the 6th point matters i would say, because it breaks all the match and in 90% cases is a loss for the team that got the akitten’er.

On a side note : these dragons that you fight are like servants to put simply, they’re not the elder dragons.

@Kraag : I’ve fought 3 world bosses : Claw of Jormag, Tequatl and the Golem-machine-gun boss.
While Teq was boring and not challenging at all, i’ve found Claw more action oriented and let’s say mid challenge and Golem as good action and bad challenge, so i guess the fights are more like a personal-view thing.

Anyway OP get’s +1 for this awesome suggestion

Now this would be epic NO ! Legendary !
When doing current colossus fractal, it’s amazing to see how he helps you by blowing out the flames from above.
Only the head is moving, but if you would be on a colossus while he’s for example running or climbing a mountain, maybe swimming and you’re on his back and other colossi are chasing him :o

I was reading it and got my whole point of view about weapons changed.

I have recently been stupid enough (I admit it) to buy a Token Amour piece that was not the correct type for my profession i.e. I bought a Medium piece of armour on my Elementalist. When I sent in a ticket, they replied saying they do not have the tools to even do what I asked. Therefore, I have a few suggestions:

Either:
- Make the tools available so that the support team can refund/swap armour pieces for a customer when they run into this problem,
- Make all of the Token Armour pieces Account Bound (it does not make any sense for the tokens themselves to be account bound and the armour you buy with it soulbound)
- Have a checkbox within the merchant window to hide/show all unequippable items for your current character

Happened to me too recently, i only cried for an hour or so and even didn’t spam forums.

Okay so if you couldn’t 1 shot then it seems that this would only result bad for thief wouldn’t it ?

Now: you backstab someone and

  1. hit – 50% hp left, you’re doing damage with other skills
  2. dodge – 100% hp, doing damage with other skills.

Your suggestion: hold BS to max and :

  1. hit – 50% hp left, can’t kill – run.
  2. dodge – 100% hp, lost all initiative – run.

So you want to enhance a popular build to be more accessible ?
Now only skilled players can utilize it, by following your suggestion every starter could 1 hit kill a player if they get lucky and they understand that with this they have chances to kill even skilled players, but have no chances to kill someone using for example trap build.
Imo you should suggest to enhance “bad” skills / builds.

Where is -1 button ?

The first suggestion is gold for me

When i was playing another game, i did these funny rhymes about my guild and put jokes about members and their fails, sayings etc. in.
The funny part is, i was writting all verses in a skill execution window called macro, so i can save them

To add, it would be nice that you could put notes on a map, for example: “Interesting to fight veteran” or when i’m playing late and find something suspicious, but don’t have time to investigate, i just could place a marker there and a note “Need to come back, i feel jumping puzzle is somewhere around !”.
Single waypoint seems kind of useless =/
Think about it, if you want to reach a destination, you look where it is and go that way, zooming out the minimap if you lost track of position.

For one having to fight the boss once at start, and then again at the top.. it feels so pointless and its just annoying, cause he has quite the health pool..

In my opinion boss should be completly removed from the start, and hammer should be ready on a pedestal..

When you think about it, it gets not so pointless after all =)
The first point to think about is that the big guy is a prisoner.
Second, the boss is guarding this prisoner.
Mind blown point : the boss holds the “key” to unlock the big guy’s chains.

And you’re saying – let the “key” (hammer) just be laying down so everyone can take it

I think, and feel free to correct me, you’re having this point of view because you’re not immersed / interested in the game anymore and just want to “farm” fractals to get something. Because of that, you just want to get it done as quickly as possible.

Of course there’s this problem with big health pool, but you just have to bear with it a bit, it is already being taken care of making boss fights more interessting =)

The idea of whips and 2 handed katanas are really awesome suggestions

Also guys think about this: some sort of hand wraps that would give you kickboxing / kungkittenskills or belt that would give karate moves or wrestling skills

I always enjoy those events where you destroy things by kicking them. The kick is very cool with human ^.^

This is where the part about everyone having same gear statistics aka skill matters of this game comes in play. The author of this thread wants to be safe by stunning opponent most of the time because clearly he can’t catch the exact timing for daze or dodge the attack.

Next time if you (author) come up with great ideas and want comments from others, please write why you yourself desire something, in this case – why you need more stuns and less stealth ? Are you never being ganked ? Can’t successfully put some bleeding on running enemy ?
If so you can try:
1. Play thief more – practice can be useful.
2. Try analyze your opponents more or try to analyze them.
3. Change a profession to another more stun capable (if you desire stuns maybe this profession doesn’t “fit” you).

In stealth, but visible after shadowstep.

The bug is about thief stealth.

Reproducing:
1. Use any skill that makes you invisible (best to use Shadow Refuge for longer stealth)
2. While invisible use Shadowstep to a location.
3. When teleported you’re shown going out of stealth animation and become visible, but stealth “boon” is still on you.

Visibility is only for the thief, other players or monsters can’t see him, so it’s one side bug =)

This thread is full of kitten people who thought they could just plow through any dungeon on their first go, thinking they were the best thing to ever happen to the world. Suprise suprise they died, a lot, we all did. But y’know what? You get better at it, you learn, and before long, you can navigate your way through a path with ease.

Pro Tip: DUNGEONS ARE MEANT TO BE HARD. Hard meaning difficult, difficult meaning challenging, but very much do able if you have the patience and skill required.

And for god’s sake people, if you want dedicated “Healer/Tank” then honestly, just go back to your children’s game, this not WOW, and I adore that fact.

Do not blame the Devs for building a part of the game that revolves around teamwork, blame the individual people who are “leaving you defeated on the ground while they fight the boss”.

Agree.
There are casual players and there are good players that for example don’t like pvp, so they spend slightly more time in dungeons. As a result dungeons become too easy for them and they need good challenge. And there are hardcore players who only go to a dungeon if it’s made impossible-to-complete…and they overcome its difficulties.

I came from WoW, I miss raids and dungeons were too easy here, so as long I have good challenge with friends – everything’s perfect.

There were replies of people who don’t like slow time of resurrecting of dead.
Here guys, I found a link that you clearly missed – How to resurrect dead players faster

Another tip: don’t be cheapskate, buy some food when going in.
