I gave up this game cuz of the never ending mesmer nerfs.
Anet responded to the changes in a thread in this forum.
They are aware of the bug. Just like they said they were aware of the berserker dmg decrease/hit miss after 11-15 patch. I don’t even know if I can see “one” actual mesmer bug being fixed within this year.
Not everybody plays a shatter build.
Seriously, i stopped playing after i see the patch notes. With every patch there comes a new bug for mesmer, as if they never even spend 1 minute testing the changes at all.
A couple other dredge exploits for the list:
Just prior to Rabsovich on the door destruction path. Someone in the group had a stack of Ash Legion Spy Kits, which they used to cheese the door, after we downed a Reverberant and they grabbed the cannon. 10 seconds of uninterrupted stealth at the door.
Also for Rabsovich, the group decided to pull him out of the room to fight him away from his adds, completely debasing the whole fight.
I don’t think pull him away to fight him is an exploit. That’s a workaround. It’s no different than pulling a small group at a time to fight them in any situation. It’s just more tactical, safer, and much smarter than just charge into a group.
That’s ridiculous. It’s an easy fight regardless. Why would the designers intend for you to make it a joke? It’s not about pulling him away from a group of mobs to be tactical; it’s about completely removing an element of the fight until the boss is dead. Clearly not intended, therefore exploit.
LOL, whats so clear about it? Developers made a fight, players thought of ways to deal with it, and u are calling it an exploit? Tell you what, they expect you to have 20 resist on 20-29 jade maw fight too. If you don’t have it, you are exploiting your way up by letting those who have 20 resist cheese rez you up
Funny you mention its “bonus event” yourself. whats wrong not wanting a stupid bonus event that gives u nothing other than 17k xp? The boss doesn’t even drop loot.
And for Kholer, yet another player who thinks that killing kholer makes one so uberly skilled. Tell you what, Kholer was BORING. He was simply there to slow down your progress, and gives you a waypoint you don’t even need. OK you can time your arrow keys and dodge his pulls, so what? That doesnt make you are a skilled player. Some people just want a quick dungeon done skipping as much trash as possible. If you really like to kill everything, ask before.
TL;DR: Killing everything doesn’t make you good. Learn to cope with different play styles.
I think your team has a problem.
Coordination doesn’t really mean careful planning, first time i did it was with 1 friend and 3 pugs and just few clear instructions from experienced members, succeeded with no issues; few downs but not much trouble.edit: hp nerf is sad…one of the enjoyable boss fights getting dumbed down
Ridiculously high HP is the last thing we need on a boss fight. If you are doing it right, you shouldn’t waste so much time doing the same thing over and over. Take a look at hotw bosses, their hp is a huge timesink for no reason.
Lupi is like the only skill fight prior to FotM. Just learn to fight it, so many of us are farming arah daily without a problem. If you really need to rely on zerging through a close waypoint, you are really doing it wrong. And you don’t have to dodge every time he tries to attack you. Try use skills that teleport you or jump back, work just as good.
up to lvl 24, got 4 vials total. During the lvl 20 run i decided to give magic booster a try, ended up getting 2 globs in 1 run as well (only booster + mf food)
Jesus i was just about to start a thread on this. This stupid kitten pisses me off to no end – every time i want to do a quick dungeon run for the night, ITS kittenING CONTESTED. OK, i clear the event from start, do one dungeon run, come back out… and its contested YET AGAIN. WTF is wrong with this kitten? I don’t have a whole night to burn on a crappy DE that resets every kittening 15 minutes!
i think the main reason is that most players had farmed arah enough. One of my guildmates had like 9 stack of arah tokens sitting around, and we only did it once a day. I bought myself a full set of arah including a sword and still got 3 stacks left.
Likewise, the new fractal tokens seemed to be needed more (at least u need 1350 for the exotic back)
Every time my group got into swamp my teammates are like “woohoo” and I was like “meh”. Two of them would just stand there and watch, while the rest of 3 including me, as a mesmer, do all the job.
Still, the easiest and most desirable dungeon from all 9.
as long as u dont die i dont care what u do. Though i prefer guardians melee with a hammer (for the protection field)
I sold two runes for 1.5g and 3g respectively and i only got 1.35g in return
the 3g one (scholar rune) was sold at a later time so I would not have taken it out at an earlier time
well now we started to clear all bosses cuz of the special potential loots and money, which brings one clear to around 20 minutes a path. Happy now OP?
do you guys ever test the changes before putting them to live? As a mesmer I really can’t take it anymore. Every time u patches professions, u bring us new bugs. You know what, i can test it for you next time. Give me like 5 minute of testing and i can sort out the bugs you created in every single patch BEFORE you put them up for the love of god.
because AC gives the highest amount of money of all dungeons? i’m closing on to my 15th stack of ac tokens but i still do all 3 paths a day, why? good cash
Tried to kill her a while ago with 3 warriors and 2 engineers (yes we actually leveled alts to make this specific dps team for the fun of it). Such an overkill, don’t even realize she was regenerating any health.
You may think you and your pack of lvl 80’s are pretty pro by shuffling around the edges of his platform, but please understand that it makes you look like a complete amateur. Seriously, I’ve fought him with a group of lvl 50’s and no one was downed, convinced a bunch of 80’s with an ego that could barely fit in the dungeon and they ALL died. Seemingly incapable of a single well timed dodge once every 30 seconds. If you’re not capable of fighting the bosses that the dungeon can throw at you, then please, just don’t even try.
/end rant
Only amateurs will even bother killing mobs that are not necessary to kill. They don’t even drop lodestones or cores. Now go back to ur uber 30 minutes full clearing 1 path while i can finish all 3 paths in 45 minutes
AC pales in comparison to HotW. High level loot, guaranteed 6 rares each day on the first run, jormag, ori nodes nearby.
No pesky gravelings.
there are guaranteed rares each day? am i playing it wrong the whole time?
I finished this a while ago with the so called “legit” way after a couple hours of try. Unfortunately one of our routine dungeon members were missing that day, and we failed to finish this another time for him. So we leveled alts – just for this encounter. Needless to say we now all carry the title of dungeon master. True story.
So........mesmer pve complains....do they really only apply to Orr farming?
in Mesmer
Posted by: Henryik.8260
The only problem with Orr is the difficulty to tag mobs. It can be offset by knowing the events (where exactly the mobs spawn), joining a group… etc.
But traveling in Orr sure is an advantage of mesmer. I never had any difficulty getting to anywhere on the map. While the pulls/knockdowns/cripples/immoblize do suck, i think pretty much every other profession hated it. But we got Mantras! It is the solution to all things.
And for veteran mobs, as a mesmer you don’t even need to think – you always can solo it. Sometimes u might need to kite, sometimes u can straight melee it down. Somehow my mesmer can sustain way more hits than my engineer although both are using berserker set.
We skip as much as u do, and we do it with 5 people everyday. Might be a minute or two faster on killing. Still, great job there 2-manning it, its not as easy as those people think (especially the part u try to run pass the gravelings with the traps active)
I hate him so much. He is the most annoying person throughout the whole game. So many good people died, yet he still stands till the end and all that he ever says is “moving on”. God, will we be able to see him die in the near future? I will love to play that story if there is. Over and over if you might ask.
A grown man cry? Like who? I am just appreciating the fact that they ignore the battles they are losing outside and gather 10-20ish people to camp at a spot which we can easily avoid by running sideways (yeah i died cuz i killed one JQ and started chasing the ranger, didnt realize the trebs)
i am in this mission right now and yes, after the first two waves of corrupted fishes there is nothing else to do. No enemies, the quaggans are not evacuating, nothing. Restarted once already still the same
For me anyway. Two trebs, some arrow carts and ballistas right near the zone in of eternal jp. Thanks JQQ, you guys never cease to amaze me.
I wonder why no one ever mention about rune of the pack? Its cheap, it gives a massive boost to power/precision, it has a nice little chance for might, fury and swiftness. Yeah scholar is cool but there are still times u will be under 90% hp, while the precision crit bonus stays regardless of your health
Yes something is wrong and it is you people. Lupi is one of the few actual fight in game other than a zerg contest. If you spend 2 hours and make no progress, you should think what you have done wrong instead of keep making the same mistakes over and over. There are so many guides on how to down it.
P.S.: A regular path 3 run for me and my guildies takes around 50 mins – 1 hour. Even you need repeated attempts on Lupi , it wont take more than 1.5 hours if you get your tactics right.
um no? i jumped with almost all races including asura just fine
norns and charrs are only annoying when u start. Once u jumped enough times, they are no longer the issue
It’s funny cuz I just faced this very same dilemma. So I finally farmed enough Arah to buy a new set of berserker armor and then I started to wonder… When should I use it? I won’t use it in cursed shore cuz of the potential drops, I won’t use it in dungeons for the same reason (and using mf gear doesn’t really hurt since dungeons are easy). The only place I might use it is when I travel to lower level zones…. But how often do I go there anyway?
At last the only place I wear my new set of armor is in lions arch. How sad.
Whoarh seriously, 50 tries? I think he is hard for maybe the first 10th times but sooner or later u should be able to see his pattern, when u should dodge n what not.
But then, it is still an accomplishment to down one of the hardest boss in game so gratz!
From my experience the troll always spawns, but has several different spawn locations. Some of them are pretty far from Kholer. But then, why not just skip both
but i hvnt done any hotw path for the day on any toons.
So I just finished HotW path run and it was first run of the day, got only 30 tokens.
Meanwhile I did AC path 1 the 2nd time for the day, got only 23 tokens.
Please, test it before patches, its like every patch you guys bring in, something else will break.
I wish they can start fixing more bugs before the continous nerfs.
Anyway here is one i found that i think wasn’t mentioned yet:
Arcane thievery: The original range is 900 which works fine. However, when extended by the trait “Far-reaching manipulation”, the skill and the tip tool will be updated to range 1200, but in fact the range STAYS THE SAME. I know i am within the range of 1200 because my Blink (extended 1200), mirror blade and spirit surge all works perfectly fine but only Arcane thievery will give me a “out of range” message and goes on a full cd.
i think the biggest issue is how the risen can easily knock you back/down/pull/chill/cripple. sometimes you’ll get pulled 3 times before you’re allowed to move again.
it makes straits of devastation the most painful area in the game to navigate. i’m so glad i’m done with that area, because i’m never coming back to it.
How is this a problem ?
I slap 7 for my condition removal and roll on.I mean seriously, It appears you are complaining about having difficulty in an end game zone while solo. Either group up and play a massive multi-player game with multiple players or add counters to the issues you complain about. If you are unwilling to do either, then you have no right to complain.
when you got pulled u need to break stun. I think its is annoying rather than the difficulty. I seldom got killed in Orr while traveling but the constant pulls/cripples/chills just make me yell.
And no i am not talking about Simin. I have seen too many posts talking about her, yet not much was mentioned about other bosses. So I had to ask…
Whats the deal with the boss before Simin? I forgot its name but its like a Wraithlord. Anyway the fight first starts with a randomly teleporting silver wraith that travels around the 5 spots in the room, and when you got it down, the boss spawn.
But you can’t attack it. You have to take a ridiculous amount of time to kill the random wraiths that spawn across the room while taking some periodical life taps that will down you but never kill you.
So my question is… is this the right way to kill this boss? Because if it is… its simply stupid and boring. I have noticed some bones around the room, but i never found a use of it. So to you peoples who finished path 4 more than once, care to tell if you do this the same way like I did? or there are better (i.e. faster) ways to kill the boss apart from mindlessly grinding the harmless wraiths?
Nothing new, might as well throw in a few more from my personal experience then.
1. In phase 1, apart from killing the grubs, make sure you wipe out the locusts too. If you only dps on grubs and boss, the locusts swarming around will bring you big trouble in phase 2.
2. During phase 2 dont try to stand between the red circles. Its a projectile rather than really an AoE, and it can hit you even u are out of red circles. Best is a perfectly timed dodge, obscure it by hiding behind the gate, or go out of range. Block also works wonders too if you can.
3. When he charges you, the time to dodge is right before he reaches you. You can see it by a green trail towards you. I find it easier to timely evade his attack rather than dodging his charge.
All in all i think Lupicus is really a fun fight. It takes time to learn, but eventually you will get there. And the thrill of finishing it is great too!
TA is not hard, its just annoying. I still farm TA once a day cuz its relatively fast though.
My personal preference for a fast dungeon run will be AC2=CoF1>HotW1>TA up>CM3=CoE1>Arah3
I think the question is why bother with Kholer when he is not related at all? He doesnt unlock a door, he is not part of the story, he doesnt drop anything nice (well 99.9% of the time). Sure we take 5 min to down him and his friends… but what for? Unless maybe he starts to drop a decent amount of silver, then people might actually want to kill him
My iWarlock crits for >7.5k.
Trolling as always.
Yours … doesn’t?
Mine crits for 8k during boss fights and i am not even full DPS build. Anyone care to show the highest number they have got?
I think the point is that if you are lvl 80 with full exotic, u will be allowed to make more mistakes without making you die. I team with my guildmates every night, and after completing all dungeon paths, we decided to up our lower level toons, it is then we realize that although low levels can enter dungeons at certain level, you will die so much faster than you expect. So we normally do with at least two 80 levels to carry the other three lower ones; not that its impossible to do with all maybe level 35s for AC, but it is wayyyyyyyyyy harder. And take much longer obviously.
So I could say OP is understandable. There is no harm in taking a low level, but it is definitely beneficial to take a group of full 80s.
Having played through all paths on all dungeons there are just some places i would never go back to, especially those long and tedious paths.
Now i usually go AC path 2/ CoF path 1/ HotW path 1 and CoE path 1 every day with my dungeon crew, since they are fast, easy and well something to do on a routine basis (although i dont really need anything off the tokens)
