How is it not true? I get mats from PvP, Fractals and WvW by playing normally. I’m not even talking about buying anything at all.

If you really feel that all game modes are balanced and that you truly have choice, then just grind out the gold to buy 150 LI worth of raid kills. I’m sure a raid guild would give you a deal if you tell them you want to buy a full clear every week for 12 weeks.

You can totally avoid raids. In fact this is traditional and this type of open market has roots all the way back to gw1.

We were addressing the fact all game modes could provide T6 mats vs Raid being the only source of LI.

You were adressing something totally unrelated since a lot of pages in this thread. The initial post is : What do you think about the look of the legendary?

Stop derailing the thread pls or make your own thread if you’re unsatisfied with the accessibility of LI. I’m personally tired of these players complaining with no real arguments and dumb reaction because they can’t have something due to the word “raid” that is apparently toxic and undesirable for them, for some reasons.

Please, stop, or at least do it with constructive behavior, not just “complains because I’m frustrated and hate the raids”.

As a gamer mmo mainly gw not other mmo. I play a bit of all content of the game. When raids first introduced I hv never done them before but I tried and cumulated 500li. When I was about 450.. I cut down my raids. So you know .. I am oceanic player in EU server.. playtime is awkward. Ping is average 400to 600. I don’t say I’m hardcore raiders bcos I only kill each boss once a week. I know some ppl do full clear more than once twice or triple times a week. I mean they enjoy it so why not. I have done all my raids with pugs. All my tittle eternal, slippery slub, demon demise etc done with pugs under many hours of wipes .. I even hv ppl telling me to uninstall the game when I fail to dodge Deimos cm in the first week .. thing with high ping I need time to adjust for my reflex and etc to respond before I need to due to the ping.. but some ppl don’t really understand tht so it’s ok. I know my focus is on the game not the people.
I hv also done both PvP leg wings and fractal.. if there’s leg armour coming for wvw and PvP .. you will see me there.
Guys and gals. If you really want it. Dont give up. If you give up don’t blame the game or the others. Try harder. If you can’t be bothered with it .. then by all means leave it .. I seen people non stop pestering and express how upset they are.. my goodness.
And seriously.. you can’t expect doing only escort weekly and earn legendary armour do you? It needs a bit more effort to it. And good job anet with the heart for wing 4.

No. Players have to deal with these kind of things. Raids aren’t the only mode where shinies are locked behind it. And Title as compensation are absolutely pointless, even more when you have titles from challenge motes.

Every MMO do this, even the popular one such as wow or ffxiv. I think devs are smart enough to ignore these unnecessary complains.

Ascended will be obsolete fast enough if it were available everywhere by most players, like the exotic stuff. Not gonna happen.

People try to argue that it’s for the sigil swap but in fact even if it was available they’ll ask for more, like the skin and the animations. You want it? Do the raids. You don’t like raids? Don’t get it. The game will not stop because you can’t have it.
The game is not mylittleponyland where you can have everything from the gamemode you like the most.

As far as I know, you can’t have Ad infinitum without doing fractals, nor Ascension without PvP, nor some skin armor from PvP and WvW aswell. Why raids shouldn’t have exclusives armor too? I don’t understand. If I don’t like fractals or PvP, but only raids, then I can’t have a backpack where I can swap stat; should I complain about it?
And the legendary weapons where you need to do a lot of PvE for the gift of exploration and such, I don’t like PvE but only PvP; should I complain about it?

All these complains are just laziness and selfishness to me.

i made myself a full set of light for my main tempest and I am making medium set for my druid – so far I have chest and shoulder for my druid. I wasn’t so keen of the skin but after using it.. I like medium armor more.. the armor looks like made with dragon scale bounded by magic. there is a little dragon curled up in the pouch on the side. I hve grown to love the medium set more.. dragon spines behind the armor too.. and skull on the back.

Now use the armor on male human/norn/sylvari, or asura and charr race. You will have ugly bell nightmare.

Just try it on male for a second and you will know what it is in the first second, because it’s terrible contrary to the females. I don’t really know why they did this.

Imo every game mode should have its own unique rewards (including skins), as it encourages playing different parts of the game.
If you want an item from another game mode, just man up and go through it (what plenty of people do every day).

Want something? Earn it.
It is that simple.

I agree with you, but, unfortunately, it’s too hard to argue something from players that can’t do any effort in this game.

I didn’t like pvp but I did it for the legendary backpack, and I learned to appareciate it at the end (reached platinum). As far as I know, we can’t do this legendary other than doing PvP. Should I complain? No.

It’s eactly the same thing for Raids.

The only issue is WvW because they need something shiny too. But instead of complaining about others rewards accessible, ask for actual new rewards for game modes that lacking shinies.

Legendary Armor Backpiece Attach Point

I think the gap between the backpack The Ascension and the chest legendary armor is really weird. It’s even the reason why I hide it, actually. Staff also have enormous gap since I don’t use the pants and only others parts.

It really depend of the level of clipping imo, and an actual video or image with the possible clipping could be handy to know what is the best for us.

Anet did this change to improve build diversity in deimos cm (2 guard vs precog).

Still, this is an example of fail design.

The difference between deimos normal mode and cm are that you lose d’alessio dmg buff (aka you do 1/2 dmg), boss has more hp and no bubble in the mid.

That’s all.

As someone who did this cm several times on a chrono i can say that the only interesting part of the cm itself was timing distorsion over precog pulse.

So anet trade the only reliable mechanical of the cm for more build\class viability (aka 2 guard vs precog).

But it will be a fail, cause thief, gambler and drunk will keep stripping aegis anyway so it will be end up for average and pug teams to still bring chrono+precog and distorsion for the aegis duty.

Yeah, best team who instantly burst thief, gambler and drunk or have enough dmg to send only 1 person on demon world and phase the boss fast enough to go there before tha person dies, will get some improved raid setup viabily to eventual improve a bit their world record on it.. But still…

The huge majoirity of people will keep playing as before, so fail.

Anet nerfed the only intersted part of the CM mechanics and people will keep playing as before, so regardless anet intention this will be just a nerf\making CM easyer change

This is the very first thing I thought of when I saw the change as well. Hello “Retreat!” my old friend. This change is a tiny step on removing some OPness of chronos in raids.

This change isn’t a tiny step on removing powerful abilities of chronos at all.

It’s called a boss nerf. Chrono will still use precog and distort during the fight. Tears are pretty useless on CM now, unless you run with an auramancer kiter instead of a rev. Tears does already more damage on CM but it’s not enough to be painfull in my opinion.
In normal mode, it seems they are more important to remove because they can target Saul. As far as I know, tears in CM mode don’t make any damage to Saul but to the kiter or players near them.

I thought that tears goal was to strip aegis to make pressure if players didn’t removed them as soon as possible. If your team have issue because they are going down and can’t remove them, it’s certainly because some of the tears has been ignored. There is plenty of time between two tears spawns in order to remove the first one.

Hello,

Since a qT member (and maybe a few others) was complaining about it in reddit, Tears no longer strip Aegis in CM.

I don’t think it was a bad thing tbh. Tears are a bit pointless without the removing of aegis atm.
Maybe it’s annoying but actually, it was something you had to take care during CM mode, CM that have to be a challenge, right?

Tears strip wasn’t a bug it was a mechanic, but well since most of players ignore them, they’ll continue to ignore them even more.

Others fix are really appreciated and thank you, but this change wasn’t necessary.

More Alacrity wouldn’t of made enough difference to make it seem any less kitten and the player actually spent some time on Necro before, this run was aimed at him specifically trying Nec in all wings and resulted in Nec being useless literally everywhere.

protip: Pretty much everyone does terrible dps the first time they take a class into a raid.

Are you saying that players skill is a significant contributor to performance in raids? Say it isn’t so!!!!11!

(It’s almost as if that might contribute to the realisation that people playing ele poorly do less DPS than people playing a “weaker” class well, brought to us by DPS meters actually telling people the difference between Qtfy members running their preferred class on a DPS golem … and random pug players in raids.)

I prefer to see non-optimal class with “okay” dps than kittenty squishy temp with 8k dps. And they are A LOT.

Necros arent useless everywhere. But we can’t argue with someone that apparently think : not optimal = useless.

And yes, I am serious. The enrage is forgiving most of the time on some encounters. I should add also, there is a lot of flaws in the design of some raid bosses, but most of the time it’s like bugs or things not intented by the Raid team.

Your initial post complains about enrage mechanics not being punishing enough, and you complain about people being able to make the fights too easy by ignoring mechanics. You also directly tie “better” enrage mechanics with more difficult content. If you didn’t want to ask for raids to be made more difficult, then you shouldn’t have asked for them to be made more difficult. But your entire initial post is complaining about raids not being punishing enough, and that they are too easy.

Then further down, Cynz suggested that you could do the CM for more challenge and you shot that idea down. You directly said "Cynz.9437 Thank you but I already did everything CM related.", which implies that you don’t want to do the CM anymore.

If this isn’t what you meant well I’m afraid I can’t do anything, but this is what you wrote.

I don’t really care about the difficulty tbh, however, I think it’s not intented by the raid team to surpass an enrage timer for so long in some bosses. I think some bosses are fine but others need to be balanced.

Maybe I was a bit too harsh to say something like instawipe at 0, but I personally think some bosses enrage should be a bit more punishing compared to others kind of enrage available. I mean, you should survive a bit with a team, and it’s fine. But you shouldn’t survive while being totally alone.

People, no need to be hostile toward me. I never said I was bothered to see a player soloing a boss. I just personally think it shouldn’t be possible for a raid design. It’s not the same thing. Thus should be fixed for future contents.

Enrage change was just an idea. Probably a bad idea for some players and it’s fine. What I see is, there’s still a lot of bugs unfixed since a long time ago, so here a “quick” alternative.

As I said, raids are already casual. I don’t want them to be harder, because you have already plenty of time before the enrage. If I want harder raids, I can just go back to FFXIV imo. I just think, in my opinion, the enrage should be more balanced on some bosses. The best example is Cairn, the enrage is almost inexistant to be honest.

@Sorin Noroku.5342 – You can see the enrage timer plenty of time with pugs training or players not knowing mechanics. You finish the fight at 3-2 players. One time I had to do the last 10% of cairn alone with my druid, the enrage was at 6% remaining.
I like to help players in difficulty or beginners -probably because I don’t have something else to do with raids atm-, but I think I shouldn’t survived the enrage alone during a lot of time, and I don’t think the devs wanted to have the raids designed like this.

As said the title, enrage in raid is not punishful at all. When the timer hit 0, it should insta wipe all the squad with an attack or something.

Some bosses can be solo’ed or cheesed because the enrage timer is too generous. People don’t care about enrage timer at some bosses like Cairn, Vale guardian, and such because they can outheal or avoid the damage. It shouldn’t possible for me to be alive with my druid/temp aura at Cairn during the enrage (and can solo it even if it takes time), it shouldn’t happen and it’s not even hard to do.

If you want the raid to be the content the “more challenging”, think about better enrage mechanics. Take an example of FFXIV where enrage kill instantly the raid when it hit 0.

Raids are casual enough no need to make it even easier with trash and useless enrage time.

Whether it’s large, small, growing, or not growing; really has nothing to do with its accessibility. If players want to get into raids then they can do what a lot of others did and join up with others like them with the goal to succeed. quite. Number of raiders are already making it easier by offering training runs.

Easy modes are already here… At least for Wing 4. Try normal mode then switch to challenge and see the difference.

Anet don’t want to clearly say there is an easy & hard mode but in fact it’s already here. Maybe not “easy” more “normal” for, at least, the last boss, but it’s really casual friendly. challenge mode need a bit more focus and reflexion.

Paradoxaly, you want an easy mode, but in fact people will be interested by the easy version of the content and not the normal. So it doesn’t change your issue, that you want more people.

the difficulty of the raid is the same and one the normal mode cm is something you can go if you really want to experience it but sadly its just a one time experience.

The “i want an easy mode arguement” at some points make no sense because ppl say they dont have time to bash their heads against a boss and others say i can find 5-9 ppl which making the encounter easier doesnt nececerally fix the player number issue, if a boss isnt dying in under an hour of practice at raid release then it takes too long and ppl cant give that much time….and because of that ppl supposedly cant find more ppl to raid with.

I don’t see any link with the initial discussion. I’m against easy mode as far as I know btw. But it’s already there.

Same difficulty? I don’t think so. W4B2 is not the same at all when you activate the mote, for example.

yay LS3 is too hardcore, lac doric is impossible omg omg.

fractals? only hardcore players can do them.

….Seriously? You shouldn’t touch others MMO then. Even raids in GW2 are casual friendly.

If the game is not fun for you it’s fine. But at least do some efforts with your criticism. GW2 is probably still the more casual friendly mmo available on the market as far as I know, and I played numerous others mmos (TESO/FFXIV/Aion/Tera/Rappelz/Jade Dynasty/Perfect World/WoW).

I am not using it….. those tools allow you to read info from other accounts regardless whether other person is even using those tools or gave their agreemen

afaik the only thing which it can read from your account is your gear/build/skins, now its illegal. Whats your problem then?

I mean by this logic you shouldn’t have any issues if i look at your bank account and private emails.

These things are removed from dps meter. Old version with illegal features are not supported anymore and if players use them it’s as their own risk.

Also, wing4 boss2 is not really about killing add fast, but your tank have to claim and move where adds are in order to slow them down, so you don’t have to kill all jades at the same time, but one by one. You shouldn’t lose too much dps depending of the composition. If you have a cataclyst, just ask him to play fresh air staff so add get killed by numerous aoes from it.

Wing 4 Collect Heart Bug

It is intended that you need to survive the encounter to get credit

And I think it’s a good thing. But I think it should be like a buff that you automatically get if you have the heart in the inventory when near the encounter. If you die you lose the buff ofc.

I, myself, missed to use it for the first three bosses and I think an auto refresh buff should be better.

I also have to play PS war condi for the third boss but this character don’t have the heart with him. This is a bit problematic for the achievement, but I should probably getting more attention to it next time.

I think the problem was the direction, hardcore and raid should never be the focus of this game.

A ‘normal mode’ and ‘hard mode’ split for the raids would probably have helped a bit there:

There is already normal modes for most of them. Raids are not hard and the difficulty is not the issue anyway.

The issue is the accessibility for new players. We need a better LFG tool that can help new players to know what they need in raids to be a proper dps, tank, healer or buffer.

We should also remove the possibility to link LI and any items from raids, also remove the possibility to use minis. I personally have more than 120LI and don’t have any issue to find a proper group (did new wing, still learning last boss) but I think it’s bad design, even if it’s not the game fault. Never seen a game where you need to link an items only accessible from the content you want to do. It’s awful. You should just link gear and maybe show you’re doing good, now that dps meter are a thing.

We need a LFG tool with jobs restrictions for raid too so we don’t have to change the announce everytime (something like most of the mmo do now, such as ffxiv).

The game let too much liberty to players and I don’t think it’s a good thing for content like raids. It should have more restrictions and quality of life tools.

If free to play player is in platinum, then he has the skills to be in platinum. Dont blame others for your loss or lack of skills.

Maybe, but more often than not that’s not the case. A new player can luck out in placement games, go 6-4 and get placed in platinum.

How does this happen. I won 7 and lost 3 out of my placement matches. I am new to the game. Have only played since like November 2016. I got placed in bronze 2. Not that I’m complaining. I’m new. I don’t have the skills necessary to be in platinum and have no right to be there. I’m just wondering how does another new person only win 6 and end up in platinum?

It’s due to high MMR.

For example, I was placed bronze 3 due to my low mmr and bad placement games (didn’t played much pvp games) and im now platinum.

To the contrary, a friend was gold 2 and he is now bronze 2.

I’m not a pvp-only player tho so maybe I’m wrong but I think it’s something with the mmr.

You have a lot of players with high mmr during placement but are still bad in soloq because they were carried by the 5vs5 team system before.

platinum in placement are uncommon tho, but it’s probably possible. And it’s why we need the 100 matchs requirement in the system in order to delete players with high rating just with placement matches. Even if I personally don’t care that much about leaderboard, it’s better for the matchmaking.

Just think for a moment. If they really want to keep competition going in the next 2-3 days, then there are really no reason for giving such reassurance.

Should they care that you don’t want to play PvP now due to ranking? Even if they do they’re primary aim should be addressing ranking system, which we all know is too late.

If players don’t want to play because of decay, others can still play matches and exceed ranks from non-active players if they win. They have the right to risk it if they want and there is nothing wrong with it.

Decay always start 72 hours after your last match. Don’t know why people are so stressed about it.

Your rating is made with your MMR too. Others certainly have better MMR due to past seasons, but this can be unfair since past season was a team fest, so even bad players can have good MMR but still playing badly in soloq.

It’s why we need this system, in order to delete all these players from high rank with negative ratio or without enough games played.

Just in case, I don’t care that much about leaderboard since PvP is not the only thing I do in the game, but I still like it, despite some issues I have with my connection somtimes that made me lose more matches than expected (still platinum with more win ratio tho)

So please, can you stop speaking about leaderboard only but about the whole pvp system? Saying “it will be like this for leaderboard” as if it’s only for the leaderboard is a bit annoying.

Am I doing this right?

Should be cool if DR is destroyed and humans rebuild their lives in the Stronghold of Ebonhawke. It should make sense since the next xpack is elona and the crystal desert gate is on the south of this city.

But I don’t think it will happens since there is the Royal Terrass pass and without DR they have to do something about it.

Got a source or a link for that expac knowledge? I think the “leak” pic was fake personally.

that_shaman datamined new humans faces/hairstyles with the Elona style. There is that post on reedit saying some future content (available now) such as Eurêka, new fractals & new pvp maps while they weren’t even released yet.

It’s a bit strange though as the issue is exactly the same for the Wintersday one and yet there are people praising that one over Dragonball. Just saw that in map chat earlier.

People are complaining more with Dragonball than Winsterday’s mini pvp game because of the achievements. As you said, both have the same flaws, but Dragonball have more greedy achievements tied to it; some of these achievements are pure luck because of the bad matchmaking system.

I, personally, really like these mini games, but can’t stand the system at all. So, unfortunately, I don’t play dragonball in particular. Knowing you are actually winning the game but you are swapped 5 seconds before the end is totally unfair.

I prefer losing winsterday’s pvp game because there is almost nothing to win with it, and it’s way less frustrating to lose a match because of it.

None of the achievements are pure luck and hardly any are greedy. In case you didn’t know, being swapped 5 seconds before the end will still give you a win.

It is, at least when you enter a game where you are automatically in the team losing with people leaving/enter & repeat because they see that they can’t win due to being outnumbered.
Happens to me everytime I try to enter a game. then it happens during two-three games and since people are leaving you are never 5vs5 and always outnumbered by the enemy.
The achievements can be done fast or slowly depending of your luck with the matchmaking.
You can’t predict if you will be 1vs1 or 4vs5 or anything.

It’s frustrating.

Last year I almost never had this issue for some reasons, so I guess I was lucky with the matchmaking system.

I personally think the achievements shouldn’t have been there other than the one that gives rewards after 10 wins. Without the achievements, the defeat shouldn’t be as much frustrating.
I play the winsterday’s pvp mini game a lot and as far as I know there is not that much rewards from doing it.

The only achievement that would be based on luck, if you considered getting into a “winning team” at the start as luck, would be for the 10 wins.

I edited my post, it was a mistake. I think a reward depending of personal score is better. So even if you lose you can still win something because you are good in the game.

3. People would QQ so hard as they get facerolled by 5 man premade teams. Then anet would have to split solo and team queues to balance it out, which is too much effort for a minigame.

Do you think there would be that many? besides, it’s not pvp, everyone is equal in this minigame, so other than better communication you have no benefit. You can still play with friends and lose 10 times over

I take it you didn’t play Guild Wars. Skilled players meeting up with VOIP and sync entering to join the same team and steamroll randoms was commonplace. It was hard enough on people who played that game. It would decimate the average team composed of players of this one.

You just said everyone is equal. If everyone is equal, wouldn’t that include skill? If people don’t have equal skill then how could they all be equal?

if yo can 2 man the normal you should be able to 5 man the cm even with pugs or even solo the first boss and ask fr mindless dps for the next 2.

Herald isn’t that bad in terms of dps or cc. But it is lower than Temps and thiefs and scepter guards.

Lower theoretical DPS. Higher practical DPS than the person who just grabbed that Scepter Guard who they levelled to 80 last week with tomes, and know very little about to play, so wind up on the floor a lot.

Player skill >>>>>>>>>> class choice for most people. and if you were in the 4-person qtfy team clearing the raid, you wouldn’t be debating this here.

Guard has nothing difficult to learn, it’s a really bad example you did there.

Just in case you didn’t know, Super Adventure Box is an Azura festival and it’s perfect for an April event.

You don’t have to replace any events actually in game, but making new ones is probably better.

I mean, this isn’t exactly a secret. Almost everyone on the leaderboards know that the top players are either 1. Bribing someone to throw the game for them or 2. Bribing their own team mate to leave the game when they are going to lose or 3. Have a friend that can do both on an alt account.

I thought everyone knew about this already.

You can get every points but still playing bad with the map. This doesn’t mean you’re carrying the team. Players doing objectives and map rotation properly are better, and these kind of players don’t have necessarily top stats.

However, these top stats are good to know if you’re doing your job right. If your role is support, you should at least get the healing top stat (unless there is another support with you) and maybe the defense one too.

Some stats are too situational like the reanimate and stomp one, you can’t really rely on this to know if you’re carrying or not. However, if you do the objectives/map rotations properly and got some top stats, then these statistics are plus-values to your carrying potential.

Coliseum achievements are not temporary. Arenanet made them permanent awhile back.

Explain then why the capricorn’s map achievements was temporary? It’s not possible to do/finish it anymore.

If it’s not temporary then they have to bring back the capricorn ones.

It’s funny to see when everytime something got a nerf/buff, it suddenly needs a buff/nerf or such things.

The OP is definitely trolling just with these statements. Thief was fine before patch and he is probably top tier now due to the recent changes. This thread is a full non-sense. Thief is fine, I don’t see the point of your thread because you’re complaining that it needs buff (indirectly), but it does not need such buff.

About revs, you still see great revs in ranked (plat+) and I don’t really see where a buff is needed. They can still “teleport” through any wall (hello kylho) with target, deals decent damage, and still have average mobility.
