I laughed…seriously, of all the broken PvP classes, thief. Haha..ha..i’m gonna go cry now
Didnt you recive an awesome yellow wyvern cache??? That amazing box(bag) contains all you need to know about HoT “loot”, filled with your essential gray spikes, talons, and broken fangs. Maybe if your lucky you’ll get a blue and a green
I also found my answer too.
The most reliable way of getting Reclaimed Ticket is through doing PVP.
The Magmus Fall reward track gives a reclaimed ticket at the end of reward track, and it is the only new reward track that are repeatable.
Tbh, I’m more relieved now. At least doing PVP is more enjoyable than farming RNG chests.
Ooh, guess il start that up once ive finished with my ambrite weps. Thanks for the heads up
im running runes of the afflicted, any recommendation for weapon runes?
Since Tex enjoys being ambiguous ill just outright say that they randomly drop from chests (non-specific map chests that kind of look like small JP chests) across the Magus fall maps, they also have a VERY small drop chance from mobs
Heck no, ill wait till its released and measure the forum outcry/opinions of guildies before I give ANet a single dollar.
While the HoT maps are stunning,, ANet made a 180 degree design change that im just not down with.
Addressing forum complain is not possible because forum literally complain about every single thing in GW2 and every changes no matter good or bad.
Yes Anet made design change and it’s good decision, old maps are boring and brainless. New maps are challenging and fun if you want casual content core tyria offers plenty.
That where we disagree
So nerf core content to the floor so new content is made more interesting. That isnt a good decision, thats just a sad excuse for hiding the fact that the developers werent confident the content in HoT would be adequate enough to compete.
Also I said id measure the OUTCRY of the forums judging on the amount of positive OR negative, taking both into account before making a decision.
Im glad youre enjoying the content fully, doesnt mean we all are
Well, a friend of mine would tell you that getting precursors out of the mystic forge isn’t that hard and that precursors aren’t really rare because he’s got quite a few of them this way.
I’ve thrown a lot of stuff into the MF and never got a precursor.
I’ve recycled about 100+ blues and greens and have gotten 1 plate and I’m not sure that that wasn’t a reward from somewhere …
Huh…. very true. Rare Salvage Pack them greens expecting failure is doing wonders for my luck though xD
Heck no, ill wait till its released and measure the forum outcry/opinions of guildies before I give ANet a single dollar.

Mystic Salvage the greens and occasionally the blues, ive gotten 5 so far doing this. They arent that rare.
And to he guy that knows where to farm rare reclaimed weapons…just tell us youre not that cool
lol people still complaining about the layout, the map really isnt hard to navigate once youve learned it/attained nuhoch wallows. The problem is how god awful the pre-meta event implementation was, usually after the pre’s end, I afk, look through the forums, grab food, etc. Hell sometimes ill even log off cause it gets so boring. I dont understand why the pre length wasnt more like VB or Auric which are finished reasonably 1-30min before the final meta starts.
EVERY RAID in every game has a an enrage timer. gw2 only has the weak version a soft enrage timer that only increases the damage by 200% not even a hard enrage that instantly wipes. if there would be no enrage timer why would u not simply take 10 nomads? it would be like dungeons atm. its really easy to beat them its only hard to them fast. you not being able to grab this concept shows that you are not very familiar with CHALLENGING group content. this is not supposed to be beatable by the vast majority at all. and dont get me started on calling it “zerker meta” when half of the group NEEDS to be condi to even kill the kitten first boss.
That youve played sure, dont make pointless exaggerations to attempt to justify your statement.
While yes I agree that the enrage stops people from doing a slowly trickling war of attrition, there are certainly other methods ANet could have explored to better the Raid and make it a unique experience where a variety of builds are at least somewhat viable.
Rather they said “We want to get rid of the zerker meta” but really they just repurposed it and laid it down as the groundwork for raids (at least for this first boss that is, maybe the other ones will shake things up?)
Sent mail, havent received a guild invite or reply o:
The timer is kittening stupid design and im sad that ANet EVER thought it was a good idea…
Ooh I’m definetly interested, will PM when I’m on later
Ive led a variety of VB maps to T4/close to T4 and its honestly been one of the most fun things ive done in this game. Sure, there are times where despite really good efforts against the bosses we just miss the mark (looking at you Axemaster) or other occasions where not enough ground work was done before the canopy bosses appear (supplying camps and doing those rampaging mordrem events are VITAL I tell you).
But as my 3 bladed coat boxes will tell you its completely within reach to get T4 as long as you can get the map focused on the goal at hand and constantly reinforce a break in the zerg mentality. If anything alot of the maps I see fail are due to 3 things.
1. People arent making an effort to organize: While I do enjoy organizing, its always nice to see others taking a shot at it for a change which occasionally leads to #2
2. Unclear directions/Incomplete directions: when things such as “Where do the canopy bosses spawn?” or “Should I be running supply”, etc. Things like this can make or break the run, when the map is educated properly on the subject a win becomes that much more certain.
3. Commander/Mentor tags all over the place: Dont think I need to say much here as i’m everyone knows why it can be a problem.
Are we talking about these sparkles? I took this screenshot in June. It’s happened around on a few of my characters in a few different maps. It’s happened to me in SparkFly Fen several times and in Southsun Cove.
No it’s different to that. If you don’t have the Autoloot feature yet you should see loot drop on the ground with sparkles rising up from it. Just imagine that on your body.
If you do have Autoloot, just go and gather something and you will see it.
Her image shows exactly that O_O Are you seeing well sir? I have the autoloot ability and the picture shows exactly what happens lol
Huh I thought I was the only one, the paper is un-interactable for me as well
1. They will never get rid of RNG. They are legendary for a reason.
RNG = Legendary, I’m sorry, that’s poor logic considering how outrageous precursor “journeys” are (check out the Bifrost), these are exotic items that now magically require more RNG gates and ascended mats to make.
Your title is a spoiler, change it and stop trying to defend it. Legacy almost always refers to events occurring after a person’s death, using legacy as you have then including a spoiler tag almost guarantees that any competent reader will realize why you titled this as such.
I smiled reading this, thanks for the read. But a Norn worshipping the human Gods o:, thats a no no
To play devil’s advocate, the MMO market has been pretty terrible the past 4 years, so it’s not that much of an honor. For years to come is also iffy at best, unless Anet actually figures out a long term plan they are doomed to only appease diehard GW fans. Pre-HoT and HoT has shown that Anet doesn’t seem to know where they want to take GW2.
This, MMO’s seem to be dying out with fewer coming out each year. Black Desert and Blade& Soul being the the “most hyped” for atm.
Unless GW2 gets its act together only the die hards will remain and you cant run a b2p game off of just a few of your most loyal fans (and seeing as ANet could care less about loyalty its a surprise die hard fans put up with them)
Also…I had a thought about the removal of the Necro’s ability to drop a distance, pop Spectral Walk when close to the ground, then pop recall and land on the ground safely. Anet didn’t remove it because people were using it in ways they didn’t mean for them to use it, they removed it because of these maps and the new BLs.
That actually makes sense…..
Anet…….please
I need another immortal weapon box.
I cant stop staring at my immortal staff skin…seriously i neeeed more
lmao so im not alone in my hatred of TD
Criticism means you love something, would you really not tell someone you love what they’re doing wrong and let them continue doing the action continuously? No, while I do love HoT, it has its flaws and Anet has been showing a different side of itself in recent.
I wonder if it’s because NCsoft isnt publishing the game anymore.
I had an amazing time with the festival:
Any rarer drops? Best thing i go was the mini pumpkin moa from Mad King Says
You can access it during the day but it’s a pain to do.
Oh? How?
Updrafts. I can’t remember where but it’s on the west side of the map.
You can actually access most of the canopy during the day, to get into the canopy theirs a method going up from shrouded ruins WP, that takes you onto an island with a mushroom that takes you directly to the JP start.
It was probably the most claustrophobic JP ive done so far xD
They should not even be tradeable. I hope it is a bug.
why not tradable?
Why because they should be a fractal exclusive item? I thought that was obvious
My vision for underwater combat in GW2 is to remove it from the game. It’s annoying and I don’t like it.
Were trying to find solutions on how to make it better and you come in with this redundant statement? Underwater is probably the most unique thing about GW2 I’d hate to see it go because of lazy devs and impatient players
Yeah I think master of corruption is the best in that slot, but most high level necros that are reviving condi necro are dropping curses altogether for spite, for signets, chill of death, and bitter chill, and it feels a kitteneesier and works better with carrion in particular, but it still feels odd to run condi without curses.
Ik the feeling, wehn i roll full condi necro cant get away from rolling Spite/Curses/Blood Magic, just doesnt feel right to roll anything else unless im switching to dhuumfire Reaper and plowing through PvE content :P
Id report this to ANet asap. This should NOT be a thing
Shouldn’t they be Soulbound on acquire, currently their are several including 2 master hero chests on sale at the TP
they have a merchant logo with a weird hat like back drop, you have to pay attention to that detail to find em. Arguably the easiest one to find is in Orr
Hybridmancer here that jumps between that and being full condi and I have to say, PVT/ sinister weps and accessories has been amazing. Can easily hit up to 7k burn stacks, 20+ poison stacks (given im standing in CPC or staff 3 poison field) and maintain something like 10-25 bleeds (if im using scepter/dagger as my alternate weapon set).
Been wiping the floor against mobs, successfully soloed the mad king, and have had zero trouble in fractals thus far (though ill frequently change from offense to condi support if there is a need)
It expect it’ll be a raid. Surely it’s too big of a plot hole to leave hanging?
The existence of other pale tree’s? The only reason the sylvari of tyria that live in the Grove are as they are is because the tree grew up around Ventari and his teachings.
Would be interesting to see a conclusion or some closure on how exactly this other pale tree created humanoid sylvari without human presence
But whyyyyyy, I was hoping a deus ex machina would appear and save the day q_q
He joined Mordy, duhhhh
It seems cool but that would get really annoying after a while.
But thats the point, like Canach said “the call of Mordremoth is like a buzzing in my ear”
(butchered that quote for sure
So i constantly switch between using a Hybrid Mancer (PVT armor Sinister Weps) to make use of how amazing GS is in certain encounters, and my long-term Condi-Mancer (Dire Armor, Sinister Weps/Accesories)
What im getting from this mostly is a condimancer isnt super reliant on RS (outside of the occasional use of skill#4 and 5 for poisons and added chill), id wonder is it really worthwhile to bring Deathly Chill? Outside of mob encounters it isnt the best source of condi DPS against champion or higher tier enemies being DPS’d by a zerg (in likeliness of poison/burning pre patch).
Other wise your build is very similar to the one I use when i spec for full Condi-Reaper, the only thing is why spinal shivers and Signets of suffering?
/map If you have any questions about the game please feel free to ask anyone with an apple over their head.
popcorn?
Truthfully, I doubt this would go well.. Someone would troll, others would call the mentor a “special snowflake”, etc. Theirs no winning :/
God. Even if you had something good already all of you sheep wouldn’t even know it because it is just in your nature to complain apparently.
They could give Thief a button that says “Kill Thing” and everyone would just complain that the gameplay is too narrow now and you have such few options for builds.
/end caring
While thief is in a bad spot, the OP is exhibit A of pointless whining with no real argument :/
In case it isn’t clear, venom share does not require you to stay in range of allies for it to work. You can share and then run off somewhere else and they still get the venoms. It could use a radius buff, but it’s not too bad.
Choice between venoms or traps/caltrops or something else entirely comes down to playstyle. If you run with a minion master and share venoms with him, you can get 30 stacks of poison on a single target. If you’re alone, that same skill is 6 stacks. Traps and caltrops are beter for area control while venoms are better for bursting and supporting your allies.
Switch critical strikes for trickery. Sinister is not going to 100-0 someone with a backstab crit. It just gives good supplemental damage to your very strong conditions.
Swap the signet. Shortbow gives plenty of mobility, and you’re missing out on many other useful utilities. Shadowstep is a stunbreak, condi clear and mobility, SR is great reset tool, and there are other good choices. If you decide on venomshare, you may consider ambush trap and thieves guild if you’re roaming solo, in which case improv could be an alternative to potent poison.
D/D with a glassy sinister build is risky. DD can pull it off with lotus training and tons of dodges, but you may be better off with P/D. It has the benefit of having a powerful hybrid stealth attack, while backstab doesn’t apply conditions and death blossom does little direct damage. P/D can also apply torment and the range and constant stealthing for sneak attack will help you stay alive.
Necros and venom share thieves have so much synergy its ridiculous, me and a necro were getting zerged by packs ob mobs during some event in VB. The necro used that minion shout as well as summoning Flesh Golem before entering RS. I cast Spider and Basi Venom, the 2 vets break bars disappeared followed by the mobs dropping like flies left and right….
Never going back to using a zerker thief xD Currently running dire armors, sinister weps, and am working on sinister accessories
one question why dire armor with sinister trinkets and weapons? i mean i dont think a few sinister pieces will give you enough precision to make a difference on crit. i dont know lol, like i said i suck a thief. How much precision is needed? I have a dire set also but using sinister now, when i made my thief i desided he was going to be the condition guy because my other characters were direct dmg. That was long ago, with the change to conditions i suppose make everything better.
I dont like being glassy as hell, where one mistake may be my last, the damage mitigation offered by the dire is must in scenarios where either im being super mobbed down by enemies, or my condi’s wont kill a vet/champ i’m soloing in time.
Also timely dodges only go so far, usually if im out of LDB, venoms/caltrops on CD, i’ll use SB 5 and kite for a bit (have the rune that causes bleeding on weapon swap so im not at too much of a loss). Still figuring out whether im gonna run runes of the krait, runes of Orr, or mad king runes though (input is greatly appreciated here)
As far precision goes, when running a condi thief unless you have sigils that proc only on crit it isnt all that necessary.

I tried the CoF farm and literally started to fall asleep, face-plant, on the keyboard. If some want to spend their time mindlessly killing the same dozen or so mobs for hours on end, I say, “here’s a pillow.”
I’m not sure why some people are bothered by this — it’s not conceptually any different from the mindless farming for Silverwastes chests or Frostgorge champs or (near launch) CoF/1 path running. Plus, in the case of CoF/XP farm, there’s no loot, so people are actually reducing their income.
Try running the torches, while I finished my masteries, I felt massively nauseated in tandem to feeling sleepy. Logged almost immediately after the fact xD
Don’t think it is intended to be able to kill infinitely re-spawning mobs this way. I mean you go to any world event and when these end, so do the spawning of mobs thus I have to go searching around for the next chain. Also the exp in the world over all has been nerfed it seems too. I am sure they will fix this eventually but only when booster sales start to drop off. I guess the new direction they got going here is that boosters are now mandatory, just like any other F2P title. ie exp/loot rates are lowered to ‘encourage’ you to buy CS boosters. Lame.
So if CoF is intended, I request that world exp from mobs/events have the exp gains increased to match so we have more options b/c currently doing world things gives pathetic exp compared.
The mobs in CoF actually give less experience in comparison to the Orrian hordes and Magumma wildlife/Mordy creatures. Its just a faster return, a boring and mundane cycle, but its efficient. Personally i maxed out my masteries doing both Cursed Shor and CoF
For comparison I get 7k Burn ticks with Condi Gear.
If I may, what runes/sigils are you using, I can only get up to 4k ticks atm
I will say that if they haven’t hotfixed it by now, they’re not going to start actioning accounts because of it. They may eventually fix the farm, but every day they don’t makes it less attractive for them to do so.
Also, I find it hilarious that yet another farm that breaks up “intended” play ended up in CoF. That dungeon is becoming legendary for its easy and borderline exploit farms. If I was the flame legion I’d be super embarrassed.
CoF is the dungeon king haha

I got 1 after 35 bags or so, no idea what it was used for so sold it for 42G.
id probably cry when i realized what I’d sold xD
I used a few + magic find boosters and actually got the black one the other day.
Magic find boosters only affect drops from mobs right?
Yep, he probably did it as a confidence boost. Looks like it paid off lol
