Links began well, but now we have more people playing. Time to open up another tier, unless you like queues in which case argue away.
That’s because Anet are linking the wrong servers. T5 EU for example is still fairly open, and there is only a single queue during primetime (roughly around 20 people). Exception are during reset/weekend. Roughly the same for half of the T4 server. Single server can’t get more than that, as no one can transfer to them (thanks to status “full”).
(edited by Kirnale.5914)
It could takes months for a server to go from full to very high. You either wait for it to open, or start playing on another server and transfer later. Just be aware that transfering to a very high server is pretty expensive.
Nah it’s a shield bot.
Soul reaping is now the worst traitline. Absolute garbage with no contribution to whatever the necromancers needs.
Lich form is even more useless than ever.
Plaguelands is worse than it’s former form. (from past patch)
Nerf after nerf. Bet the next nerf will be our shout elite skill and spite traitline.
I wouldn’t say plaguelands is better or worse than plague, they’re completely different skills that perform different roles. I do miss its tankiness in wvw, but plaguelands can clear a room in pve.
Pve is uninteresting. Reason is, you don’t really have a place in PvE besides fractals. And fractals can be cleared with every class. You are lacking in raids, and thus, are not welcome. Pvp is different. We could use the elite skill to overcome the lack of stability and burstphases in wvw, as well as spvp. Now we got something everyone can get out of because its so tiny, and provide next to none in active defense, of which we were lacking in the first place.
I tried dropping plaguelands on points in spvp and find it gets interrupted too easily and if you try to cast anything while you’re trying to drop it, it won’t drop.
Sadly, it’s true. With the necro being the main target, you will get interrupted like every 0.75s. Plaguelands, compared to plague, have a too long casting time. Even if you manage to drop it off, it’s not like it helps you survive their relentless attacks, and yes, they will keep attack, knowing there is plaguelands below them. And you can hardly combine it with other AOE skills because of the amount of interruptions. The amount of interruptions was one of the main reason I stopped playing spvp since last year.
(edited by Kirnale.5914)
It’s still a 100% miss skill against any moving target. Also, too many counter, such as reflect, invul, dodge, stability etc.
50s CD on such a skill is too much, WAY too much. I would stick it around 30-35s. It was honestly better before the change.

Guess they didn’t wanted us to buy the new xpac. We need a BUFF rather than a nerf. But then again, I expected nothing from Anet.

“6. Make bosses reflect conditions and cast epidemic.”
That’s your opinion, not mine. And it’s nowhere close to what I said.
Spam the kitten out of epidemic to bosses isn’t really skillful, nor fun. Epidemic was designed to be hard to use and requires coordination with your teammates to utilize it’s max potential, that’s why it have the highest dmg potential despite having a rather low CD.
Dropping it on bosses is something even a fulltime pve player can do.
1. Make desert borderland smaller. And give it a strong blue sky so it’s doesn’t looks like it’s 24h at night or it’s going to rain soon.
2. Create a new “Island” themed map. Same size as alpine borderland ofc.
3. Remove edge of the mist. It’s just eating potential players from smaller servers away.
4. Nerf the bosses in desert borderlands to alpine level.
5. Remove all the trash monster(not guards or mercs or any important key monsters) and replace them with ambient creatures.
6. Make bosses become immune to epidemic.
7. Fix the lags.
….
Well, reducing it is still correct. I never mentioned by how much it should be reduced. Usually I can afk longer than going to the toilet without being kicked.
Yep, that’s why I called it a wishlish.
I know a lot of stuff have been mentioned but here goes anyways:
1. Change the reward from participation to active rewards to reduce afking.
2. Change the pips from outnumbered to +1.
3. Make progressive loyality bonus. +1 after 3 weeks. +2 after 2 months. +3 after 4 months. Add a window that shows how many weeks/months we are loyal so we can track our progress.
4. Change the commander bonus pip to at least 10 people.
5. Reduce the afk -> kick timer
6. Get rid of those lags that only allows skill 1 to be used.
7. Unlink full servers.
8. Add personal statistics. For example, how many kill, deaths etc. you got in one skirmish or in one matchup. Or even showing how many objectives you have claimed.
9. Add new skills for our unused World ability points. Or a way to convert them.
10. Decrease the time for logging, mining and harvesting. People are sitting there way too long. Or add them to the rewards for taking over the objective.
11. Add the new WvW vendors to LA. So people can look at the stuff outside of WvW in case there is a queue. It also reduces the amount of people sitting at the spawn.
12. Give us an option to open all the skirmish chests at once.
13. Let us see the queue on all maps. Currently, we cant see the queue of the map we are playing in. Important if you want to change character.
14. Add a small wvw guide or tutorial for beginners. Most of them don’t even know what to do in WvW.
15. Create one more chat option. Team chat is currently used for call outs(at least on our server). Make one more chat option for call outs only and so people can chat normally across the maps through the team chat. That way, you can turn off team chat if you don’t want to see the chat/spam, and still see the important messages.
Offtopic wish: Make the preview window bigger. Warbringer is too big for it. And bring back Braham’s shoulder piece for me
.
It took me 2 hours to get through the 33 queue line….
Uhmm transfering to a low tier server doesn’t help at all. We are also full house. All borders were+30 and EBG +50 yesterday. I’m pretty sure the next prime times will be the same. I mean, even now we have queue, when it’s usually just 10 players during this time before the patch.
Your calculations were pretty hard to understand. You assume you get chill every 2 seconds for 6 seconds for some reasons, which means you will end up with 9 stacks. For some reason, you already have 10 stacks on you ? Which means you end up with 19 stacks. I didn’t understand your last part, so somehow it end up being 35 stacks, of which the rest is all outside deathly chill.
My calculations would be:
If he were hitting you 100% , then the stacks from deathly chill alone would be:
1. Staff skill 3 and 5, once each = 6stacks
2. Reaper 5-4 combo -> 6x 3stacks + 1×3(from skill5 itself) = 21 stacks
3. Reaper 3-3 -> 3 stacks
4. 1x from elite skill -> 3 stacks
It would result in 33 stacks from deathly chill. Originally it would be 11 stacks. That is, IF you let him hit you just by standing there.
Now let’s calculate if you were smart, you would get out of his 5-4 combo, you would end up only eating 33-21= 12 Stacks. Assuming you have stability on(depends) skill 5 staff and skill 3 shroud doesn’t work = 12-6 =6 stacks from deathly chill.
As far as utility goes, I left it open, because it always depends on the user.
Now you got 6 stacks, which bleeds for lets say 8 seconds, lets assume the bleed damage is 2500, it would end up with 5000 damage in 8 seconds. Which is 625 per second, which is a pretty realistic number in a fight.
Now the necro has his CD ofc and can’t spam his chill again for lets say an average of 26s(I left the CD of our elite out, otherwise it would be 37s on average; Calculation was (16+32+25+30+30)[s]/5)
In short: You get to eat 6 stacks from deathly chill every 26seconds(excluding the time the necro needs to apply it on you)
Edit: To your original comment on 25 stacks: Lets say we nerf this and you got 2 stacks instead of 6. You will still end up having 21 stacks on you. The 21 stacks are totally possible to reach with trailb, viper, traits + runes/sigils etc.
(edited by Kirnale.5914)
There are serveral reasons I can think of if you are complaining here:
1. You aren’t used to strong necromancers. You usually just see them as punching bags, free kills etc. Then you met one that can actually fight and loses. I fight a lot of duels in wvw as necros, and one thing I can say is: Don’t underrestimate every necro. The moment you do, the moment you have lost. And people were more or less right when they say that necromancers don’t bother fighting you: The reason is because they are outclassed as necromancer, and the second reason is they are 99% build for zerg fights. You need to be above average skill level to fight a below average warrior.
2. You are not prepared. Fighting a necro and end up with 32 bleedstacks ? Were you literally just standing there and let them hit you ? LOL. That is possible in pve only, because you can still dodge/cleanse/invul a lot. Besides, the most bleed comes from their reaper spinning combo, so if you just stand in there, expecting them to deal 0 dmg like they always did until now, you are at fault. Secondly, deathly chill alone can’t stack up to 32 bleeds. It’s a new thing to you, because people are rolling condi necro instead of power necro, which means they use viper/trailb gear to extend their condi duration, thus, more bleed stacks incoming. It’s the whole build that makes them strong, not just one trait.
3. You did not bring any condi cleanse. No excuse. I use necro and I notice that a lot. I use scepter 2 on them, and people just let it ticks until the very end. They didn’t bother to remove it. We are playing condi necro now, don’t think it just ticks for 90 dmg like usual.
4. You don’t know their skills. You simply jump in and expected to kill them through skill spam. Condi necro were always stronger than power necro in terms of dueling(people just rolled power until epi meta). Roll a necro and try dueling, maybe you can learn a thing or two. They use a different skill set, and some skills are stronger as condi necros than with power necro(for example reaper skills).
The buff necromancers got was really needed. Otherwise, it doesn’t make sense if they don’t have much mobility and invul/block stuff like other classes do. They are suppose to be the damage dealer, what’s the reason you use him otherwise ?
All the nerf, especially season 2 nerf, took away 50% of our fighting power along with more nerfs in other balance patches, to be more detailed:
- They nerfed out chill duration(from a lot of areas, including traits, roughly 33% each, even our elite skill)
- our amount of combo finisher through Soul Spiral(from 11 to 6) which makes the deathly chill strong
- They reduced our stability uptime with shroud and increased our CD on top of it
- They decreased the durations of reapers “ice field” Executioner’s Scythe
- They nerf deathly chill to ground. Removing our unique chill damage(did roughly around 400-500 damage per tick) to give us 8s of bleed.
- Dhuumfire(shroud skill 1) trait got their burn duration cut by 50% (4s->2s)
- Rise! got their damage reduction cut from 50% to 33%, the minions summoned was weakened in both health and toughness.
It’s not the complete list, but what would you think if your classes got cut by 50% in every area?(while most of the other classes got stronger at the same time.)
(edited by Kirnale.5914)
" Necros and guardians with swiftness and leap abilities can run close to or in the case of guardian even faster than the warrior."
…. Heard that guys ? Necros can almost outrun a warrior ! I learn new things everyday. Didn’t read the rest, I can’t take something like this seriously.
I’m not fan of this build. Not sure of you refer to roaming or zerg play. Plague signet will draw too much conditions on you if you are in a zerg. Rise is still too weak, I’d rather take some damage to put some more pressure to your enemy. Soul mark trait is a must-have trait, since most enemys tend to block when they need to heal and you can bypass that(warriors mesmers guards). Weakening shroud sounds nice, but it actually isnt. It’s the same skill as dagger 5, it will cast on top of you really slowly. Maybe you change into reaper mode while being in the middle of the enemy zerg, but I usually change beforehand since I prefer to lose life force over real health.
Just my 2 cents
I think a good starter fix for the lifeforce problem would be to make it recharge on x% per second outside of combat until it reached something like 50-75%. That way you can counter classes who keeps disengage a bit to wear your life force down.
Think about it guys.. When you think about a warrior, you know he has broken mobility+defense+dmg ratio. When you think about mesmers, you think about their portal+condi dmg and a massive amount of invul.+blinks+stealth, and then you think about the necromancer…. well what was the necromancer all this time ? “Team fighter”, or should we say, a burden to the team at the same time. You need to babysit him all the time, otherwise he is useless. No mobility, bad defensive skills, long casting times(almost no instant skills), and lots of counters. I think the original idea of the necro was to give him DAMAGE over anything, he was suppose to be the condi god, and yet, many other classes got ahead of us. Now we got damage and you want to nerf it already ? I mean, I understand the epidemic part, but deathly chill was realllly too weak. After season 2 spvp they nerfed our DMG, our chill duration, as well as unique damage ticks in deathly chill, and also, our defense such as “RISE!”. In other words, all areas were nerfed. I main a necromancer, and think anet was right to give us one deadly area back.
In short: Necromancer should be all about damage, while having low def and mobility. Deathly chill is fine right now. Epidemic is the real thing to discuss.

The difference in T1 servers shouldn’t be THAT big. I play on T5 server, and we got no link. Servers that covers roughly 70%(or was it 60%?) of their expected population will receive no link. I don’t believe that a T1 server doesn’t cover that much, yet a T5 server does. Another thing is the famous triple link to FSP some time ago. They owned the t1 so hard, it was totally one sided.
Here is an old link for reference to what I mean. Anet closed that one.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/wuv/FSP-WR-FOW-new-links/first#post6309796
It was a necessary buff. Deathly chill did so little damage before, I didnt feel like I had traited it. Kind of a trade-off for its general low mobility and bad defensive skills.
There’s a lot of older players on the German servers – they won’t understand too much and well German servers are a special topic. Try to speak German on a megaserver but take an umbrella as some kittenstorm will come.
Yes and no. German only players can still join up with their respective commanders. Pretty sure it will be organized that way, and for those who understands english they can join up anywhere. One of our commander is mixing a bit of english and people don’t mind at all.
You have no idea of EU.
See it’s 6 am in Germany and I’m awake, just like a lot of Germans who take their rangers out and do some Karma train.
Just because there’s international servers doesn’t mean we have any NA guilds.
You seem to have misunderstood me. I am not telling that you have a huge army at night, but more people in general. Having a single time zone have the huge disadvantage, that people go off after 1am. Then you pretty much have max. of 5 people in each map. It works different when you have a spread out time zone. While it may be 1 am here, doesn’t mean it’s 1am everywhere. For them it might be just 11pm, so they are most likely still playing 2hrs longer. Same with others: While we are at 3am, on other country it is 5 am, so they will wake up while we are still dreaming.
If I were anet I would:
1. Set the goal limit to the t1 servers. They are not t1 for nothing. They have both manpower and skill. You can at least balance the manpower.
2. Thus, leaving all t1 server unlinked.
3. Try to balance out other tiers to get as close as possible to the manpower a tier 1 server have.
4. Asking the “german, french and spanish” servers if they want to be linked with an english one through a poll. You have been doing a lot of polls, why not asking if the players wanted it or not ? Pretty sure most of us understands english.
5. Time zone. An international server has the advantage that their time zone is more spread out, so the night is more covered than one nation(correct word?). By linking one national with international servers you can get it even out better. You can try putting up serveral german servers together, but that doesn’t mean they got a stronger night raid, so the result with be a loss despite having the same manpower during the day.
lool same for me only premades, it’s time arenanet put pack the solo and team queue
Could it be ? For the first time that ele is out of meta ?
1. AFK people, chat warriors or whatever. Since this game have statistics saved, such as damage dealt, healing, damage taken etc., I think it isn’t impossible to make something to track these people and temporary ban them from PVP if they don’t start to fight and getting points in any way. Even the decapper thief will get points by decapping, even if he doesn’t fight at all. (By temporary ban I mean ban them from pvp for a few DAYS not hours/minutes, so they don’t repeat it again)
2. Solo vs team. As someone who does solo queue, it isn’t good at all to play against a premade team at all. Today I almost reached the next division, only the get stomped hard by a guild team that has an incredible CC timing and burst potential. Reintroduce solo and team queue. Voice chat vs non-Voice chat isn’t a fair at all.
3. Team ups: When an amber teams up with a diamond, they should end up in the highest division of the highest team member, in this case the amber should end up fighting in diamond division. Reason is, today we had this case, and the amber player wasn’t amber at all. He play the thief as if he were in legendary++++.
4. MMR. Don’t even know why this exist. Last week I lost almost every game, this week, I almost won every game. This MMR kind of decides who is going to win instead of giving the players a fair match up. The wins/lose are quite one sided in most cases. The close matches were a blast, but they rarely happen. Quite the opposite of what anet are trying to archive. I vote for more close-up matches.
5. Classes. 1 build 1 class. The is no diversity at all. Getting boing fighting the same stuff all the time. I wish I can fight an offensive ele instead of a healbot each time. Also, no class stacking please.
6. Team composition. Ele vs non-Ele. It makes such a huge difference by having a ele in your team, that you might as well as win the game before it even starts if your enemy doesn’t have an ele. You can still win by avoiding the ele, but playing close-far rarely works.
7. DC. Yes I mean a REAL DC. If someone DC from my team, I wish there would a “PAUSE” button like dota2. That pause will only take effect if at least three players press the button. To stop it from being abused, it can only be activated twice in a match from each team and it has a limited time.
I know I repeated stuffs, but anet needs looks into these problems. They are mostly frustrating and gives me a horrible pvp time.
For massive pvp fights I choose gw2.
For standard pvp matches I choose WoW.
For PVE I choose TOS.
And don’t forget to buy an ssd for reduced loading screen. I remember back in 2012 I had 4 min loading screen in LA, and after I got ssd it was like 5-10 sec. CPU should be at least i5 so you don’t struggle with fps issues. Graphic card should be good enough so it doesn’t have heat problems, my old card was really loud when I was playing gw2, and I couldn’t go anywhere near a good graphic setting, despite having an i5. Correct me if I’m wrong, cause I am not a hardware specialist, but I think you need everything on the same level or it will always have some issue. I have a GTX 680 and it is more than enough for gw2. (my old one was gtx 540)
Why not mix one NA server with one EU server ? So you got both time zones covered.
I agree we need to seperate the tabs into maps, world bosses, events, etc.
Looking for something in the list is pretty annoying.
Don’t forget to change your graphics options for the new client. (nvidia control panel, amd catalyst, etc.)
This.
I thought it was strangely blurry, but nvidia didn’t consider the gw2 64 client in the list.
Many thanks !
I think you get this from T4 night. But in order to reach T4 night, you need T4 Day. A high tier day will give you much more progress during night.
We tried it yesterday:
1st try: T1 Day, T3 Night
2nd try: T4 Day, T4 Night (with about 6 min left after reaching T4)
Everyone received the coat box, they pretty much spammed it in map chat.
And you might need to be 200% yourself, not sure, just be on the safe side.
It’s just you. Mine was done in seconds.
Is it just me or is the 64 bit client a little blurry ? Interface, char, everything, a little blurry. When I logged in back using 32 bit it was very “clear” compared to the 64 bit one.
Hey guys,
everyone knows that the dungeon rewards have been nerfed now. As result, I am having a hard time finding a group. If you(anet) hate dungeons so much that you have to nerf it to this extend, then at least remove the “gift” from dungeons as requirement for crafting a legendary.
Usually, I don’t have problems finding a group for caudecus manor if I am doing this.
Usually, I buy my way through the dungeon with gold. But a lot of people stopped selling dungeons, so I am pretty much forced to do dungeons now in order to craft my legendary. And farming PVP reward tracks takes too much time, and I am not a fan of spvp either.
By doing the paths myself, it took me about 30min to 1h to find a pug group.
Since I hate dungeons, I, ofc, don’t join a dungeon guild(I am WvW player).
Can you remove it or at least reduce the amount of token needed ?
Or make it buyable with fractals, if that is your goal of dungeon endgame, because fractals are bearable and there are 24h pugs available.
I know this sounds silly, but it is really hard to find a group.
(By the way caudecus manor only gives 35s instead of 1g daily)
After playing too much in the jungle I died from jumping off a cliff in tyria… anet pls fix xD
People usually do things for 2 reasons:
Fun and reward.
Let’s give each of them 100 points at max. That makes 200 points in total.
For dungeons you have fun factor about 70, and reward about 90, so total 160 points.
For a SW chestrun you have 100 reward and 10 fun factor, total points of 110 points.
For pvp/wvw you have 90 fun factor and 40 reward, total of 130 points.
This is my personal rating. So obvious I would run dungeons, because it’s both rewarding and fun. And if I bought everything I wanted, I go for wvw/pvp for the fun factor and ok rewards.
1. Circle around him. Also, you know when he shoots, by seeing him charging up. You could go back to distance to completely avoid damage or just dodge out of it. Always keep moving around if you are unsure.
2. I believe the mastery nuhoch 4 can counter this.
3. Go back to range, and spam left and right movements. That way, even without dodging, he won’t hit you.
To be honest, they were much stronger in BE2. They had a fast shot there that hit 8k+, instead of the line of death if my memory serves right.
Edit: As of mass snipers. Keep track of every one of them. Play it in a pvp style. Know their position, and adjust your position to it. And when they go stealth, they only move a little bit, and you should be prepared for a line of death

Overall 7/10
Story 7/10: Good until the last one, it was just too fast and feels rushed. I mean, what about taimi’s research ?
Music 10/10: Just perfect, every new piece is great.
Content(Quantity) 5/10 It’s ok if they keep on updating stuff like usual. For the current amount, this is 5/10.
Content(Quality) 6/10: Events are too simple.
A good one would be something like this in my opinion:
Spawn point A, B for enemy.
Spawn Points are protected by a strong boss that can drop a lot of AOE.
You have a time limit until they summon a boss that can’t be killed. But your side also have a base. If that is destroyed, you lose.
So you need to seperate the zerg in 3 groups: DEF, ATK A and B.
Not only does this prevent the huge zerg infestion this game have, but also requires a little bit of coordination with other players. You can add spices like mordrem that only attacks the base and ignore everything, so people focus their dmg on him.
This is only one of many possible events on a map.
The jungle also requires a better computer, and the meta maps is in heavily need of DC protection, since the reward is build on the time you spend on it. Also, it’s time the fix oom(out of memory) which comes from the client(32bit).
In the preview you could clearly see the leylines floating on the side.
But when you wear it, you could barely see it at all. Is this a bug ? I tried to make the graphics setting to max, but it was still barely visible.
What I did to make it work: Quit chapter 14, start 13, quit 13, start 14, change your map location. When you start 14 again, it will tell you that you need the poison mastery. Then the “quest” changed to “Find Rox’s first marking” after map switch(I ported from tangled dephs to verdant blink), instead of earning mastery point and dat poison thing.
Dunno if this works for others.
I want to bump this one.
We tried Dragon’s stand map for 4 hours. And just when the boss is about to fall the client crashed. If you make such a long meta map then at least back up every player from DC. Let them have the tier they worked for. Let them get back to the map where they DCed from. When I fought that endboss, all I thought was, pls don’t crash. It did, so my reward was 0 for all this time.
I have a pretty good computer too, and the graphics is set to absolut minimum. But it still crashed. Pls FIX YOUR GAME.
This DC/crash issue is HUGE and RUINS the experience.
^This is what I was looking for. In the beta the range was more than 600.
And the aoe ring is green on max range(800?), but when you use this skill, it says that it is out of range. At least I know what is causing it now.
Edit: The green ring is has infinite range, but is still limited to max range when used.
Edit 2: This happens only if you used the skill, and wait until skill is ready again.
(edited by Kirnale.5914)
The guardian have the most rooting skills out of all classes I think:
Hammer: 2,5
GS: 4
Staff: 4, (5 in the past)
(shield 5 in the past)
LB: 2,5
Sword: 3
About 9 rooting weapon skills, and 2 of them removed/fixed.
We really don’t need more of them. That’s why most metabuilds are using weapons with the least rooting skills.
Is there any way to pick up the traps you laid to reduce the CD on it ?
Similar to engineer and it’s turrets, it should be possible to pick it up, because traps have to be laid on feet, it should have a compensation when taking wells and other AOEs into account.
