Well, it is SOMETHING… perhaps SoF/to_the_limit will be usable again to “pre-boost” as you would be dropped to 2 bars by the time your burst skill launched with the earlier adrenal combat rules.
Nope, no pre-boosting. If you are not in combat when you gain adrenaline the decay still happens instantly.
Just a note that the 2 second grace period only applies to when you exit combat, so if you want to use a skill to gain adrenaline immediately before combat is it still immediately gone.
This is my bad when I do it, but sometimes I shoot rifle and anticipating it hits, use signet of fury. Well, you know what happens, when you don’t hit there is no gunflame follow up because you can’t enter berserker because adrenaline is immediately decreasing. So even here it is only a half hearted buff. IMO is should be at least 5 seconds before you lose adrenaline you gained.
It kind of shows that they are clueless that pretty much all they did was change some rifle skills which didn’t need to be changed (unless gun flame was going to be nerfed, which it wasn’t), added damage to offhand axe, and reduced some skill recharged.
The healing buffs are meh. Heal sig is still the best but the sustain is not sufficient because we did not get any other defenses, in fact berserks stance got worse. So we are still most likely stuck with triple stance of some sort, outrage or dolyak unless it is a pot shot rifle build. The healing skills needed reduced recharge in addition to the increased healing or something else that makes them useful like protection or resistance. Until there is some other form of sustain every utility skill needs to be used for sustain unless the build is something niche.
For hammer the reduced CD is nice but the hammer trait is still hard to take so it is still in a bad spot. The only things that I said, oh nice, to was stagger blow. But what the hammer really suffers from is bad animations and aftercasts that make the hammer feel clunky and laggy. My god, I had not played much hammer since HOT and play it the other day, earth shaker was so bad for its animation. Make hammer feel fluid. With the release of HOT the slow attacks with aftercats and big animations mean a bunch of them just plain miss. Sometimes from dodge but a lot of times because condis are flying around that make it hard to play (chill, blind, aegis, weakness).
I feel warrior is pretty much the same except for Rifle is better. But everyone was having fun getting 1 shot by a warrior right? Lets add to that instead of trying to fix the class. Oh, lets reduce some skill recharges on to create the illusion we cared and actually tried to do something.
Oh, and no base line fast hands.
And less damage because you will have less reckless dodge which severed as an unblockable source of damage. It was also a nice was to try and start of a burst because it closes distance, unblockable damage, and ensures stick and move is active.
So less dodge rolls, less damage and harder to stick to targets. I would say the sigil was OP but everyone had access to it. Kind of funny how its nerf hits what is currently the weakest pvp class in the game the hardest. Or maybe it can be a benefit because less dodge rolls will be available to dodge the warrior skills with huge tells. A dream of course.
From my perspective Axe is a straight damage weapon. It provides little to no utility (I guess Axe throw can be considered utility) and no defense.
In damage is has to compete with gs which is better damage wise because of 100 blades, ww, better recharges, and the gs strength trait. I even like its burst skill better for damage since it is multi target and 1 bar and 3 bars does the same damage. Gs also has rush and ww which work both offensively and defensively. So pretty much it is superior to Axe in every way.
But you have 2 weapon sets right? So you can use Axe on you second one. This is done because Axe is probably your next best power weapon but it is still trash because it has no utility and I feel eviscerate is terrible. Now you pretty much take shield because if you don’t you have anything left after stances you are dead. Shield gives you a little time to get dodges and skill recharges to switch back to gs.
So what does Axe need? A better burst skill, utility, and defense. Does it look like we got any of that? No.

Is there a bug with endure pain where you still take damage from attacks?
Was anything changed with the regeneration from this? I seem to not be getting it when blocking with mace and the regeneration seems like it might only be 1 second as the rune describes.
But, I’ve run into plenty pretty good players, as does happen in a game mode like pvp. I’m usually among the top scores, and I don’t find myself any more disadvantaged than playing my other classes (Ele, guard, mes, ran).
The fact that you even mention score tells me that you are probably playing very low level pvp.
It is pretty much an accepted fact that warrior is the worst pvp class in the game. That being said, a warrior running an optimal build will still crap on someone running a “PvE” build in sPvP or WvW. The fact that you fought someone and killed them doesn’t change the fact that warrior is bad, it only means the people you were fighting were more likely terrible.
On using flurry and then a quick weapon swap I am unable to use 100 blades after for another second. I am not sure if it is all attacks or just 100 blades but since flurry is the immobilization set-up 100 blades is always the skill I am trying to use on someone after. Not only has flurry always had a crappy precast but now I am getting skill locked after using it.
With all the teleports other classes have it makes them extremely difficult for a warrior to fight, regardless of them being immobilized or stunned. It would be nice if what little we had actually worked.
It has probably existed for a long time but I don’t think I noticed it before the release of HoT.
As a pretty much exclusively WvW player I have played less since the release of hot than pretty much any other period where I was at home and able to play.
I am on a low tier server and the map is simply to large and has to many PvE related objectives. That and the auto upgrades further disadvantage lower population servers in their match up since they cannot try to combat opponents through gorilla tactics since everything is upgraded and a larger group can poor down on you before you can break a fortified tower.
Part of the problem is that a lot of people are doing the new PvE content but on lower population servers I don’t really expect the WvW experience to be greatly improved once that is finished and more people come back to WvW. I have spent most of my time running around flipping camps and shrines and ran into pretty much nobody. It is also boring when I want to be in WvW to fight people and instead I am fighting auto upgraded objective and I have to run long distances to get to anywhere.
Instead of the WvW experience being upgraded with a new map it feels like it has been downgraded to an EOTM experience, but with no players. More players might start showing up but the fact remains that the terrain and PvE focus objectives are not conducive to type of fights that the classic WvW players were looking for.
Has there ever been any comment on if they are going to try and fix this. It was better before they “fixed” the line of sight. There was issues like shooting over hills wall at the cata spot and hitting inner siege/cannons but as it currently stands this is a giant step backwards.
An ac shooting from the ground below has better coverage than an ac on the wall above. An ac on the wall is near useless unless you have a giant army in front of you that can prevent the enemy team from just walking up and killing it with aoe. If you put arrow carts in the good old positions they can now shoot nothing.
Yes you are on your own, if you are talking about 1v1’s in WvW roaming. It is pretty much accepted that thieves, eles, and mesmers are better at dueling. IMO a good condi engi should beat a good warrior 75% of the time as well.
Warriors have good cleave which is why you see them win outnumbered fights vs bad players because they do not respect the invulnerabilities and instead rush them and multiple players ending up taking damage while doing none or little.
With the access to CC they are good for party play, with the access to good cleave and mobility they are good for running around and flipping camps but they are middle tier for 1v1’s in WvW dueling.
To be honest these updates are kind of useless.
Rifle damage was already OK. It is hampered by its range, lack of utility and synergy with warrior traits, and lack of defense.
Shield is already good and this might just put it above everything else making every warrior x/sh gs. Buffing something that already worked is stupid when there is so much that sucks.
Rousing resilience will still be trumped by both the other gm traits. Pretty much no reason to ever take it.
Last stand is a good update. It can compete with ci in builds now.
So basically warriors are in the exact same spot except that shield is stronger and you will have more people running last stand and frenzy so bad players can complain about how the big bad warrior stunned them with shield flury and gibbed them with 100 blades.
2,500 is far to low for Yak Slapper. I think it should be something like 20k. As said above, basically the only title available to hardcore WvW players was 250k player kills. Now if you make them to easy there is nothing unique that people who actually put in the time are going to be able to display.
Aside from it’s wacky damage range and the fact that it needs to crit to be good eviserate have fallen out of favour due to the fact that it is a single target burst skill that needs to be setup.
Due to the nature of how warrior works after the patch it now primarily a burst class that relies on its utilities to stay alive long enough to kill someone. Double ep and if you don’t have enough pressure on you either run, reset or buy time. This doesn’t work well with axe because you can’t spend the time setting up a 3 bar eviscerate crit and anything less than that is kind of meh. The other weapons are just better now. Most of the other weapons can still be use full at 1 bar, especially gs and hammer.
Kind of ironic how they nerf adrenaline with super fast decay and lose adrenaline on miss thus weakening cleansing ire as well and then go back and do a 180 and are making it far better than it ever was. If you still end up losing all your adrenaline on a missed burst this will make longbow the best condi removal option. Given their past attempts to balance this and instead screwing the warrior build diversity I’m not looking forward to this.
(from a wvw perspective)
I have tried to make it work but it just doesn’t. Axe off hand provides nothing aside for being able to tag targets. if you want something to pair with greatsword,
best options:
axe/shield
sword/shield
hammer
also works:
axe/mace
axe/sword
sword/mace
sword/sword
longbow
rifle
Mace main hand also but I’m not a fan of it. Pretty much anything but axe offhand.
S/sh & GS with a little s/s & GS mixed in.

s/s & gs (power)

I think sword is a good as its even been for power. For condition it is weaker just because condition warrior is overall just weaker than it was before the patch.

This is before patch.
Will kill class in PvP/wvw with the exception of zergling.
Lol, chasing someone with axe 5. You do realize the skill makes you Moe slower. Another reason why it sucks.
Lol shadow, first off it was a bug. Second, you had to spec a crappy trait for it. Third, bloodlust is available to everyone and shouldn’t be included in part of the op equation. Fourth, you are including 180 from signet of might, another crappy skill.
By using the bug you could very well be making your character worse outside of a gimmick build like kill shot. This is from a PvP perspective.
This is an incredibly stupid thread trying to bring real world logic into video game mechanics. You do realize that when you die a friend can simply touch you to bring you back to life or you can misteriously instance rez at some weird portal divide. How about when you are hit in the arm with a sword your arm falls off and you can only use 1 hand. How about those partially covering cloth robe an else wears gives literally no defense instead. The logic is great. I can’t wait for all the fun.
I’m not sure that I see the basis as to why Arcing Slice seems so useless that it needs a total rework. If all it did was damage then I could see it being lackluster but it gives us access to a really good boon. It shines in that regard as a utility skill. I don’t know what else you could do before it starts becoming imbalanced as a single skill, I mean, It would be an AoE hitting multiple targets and granting access to a powerful boon inside the weapon skills themselves on at most a 10 second recharge. On a regular skill that could have it’s recharged pushed past 10 seconds that would make more sense.
I would have to question if you even play warrior in PvP. It does less damage than an auto attack chain because it is slow and hits 1 target. The fury is not needed because warrior has other sources and all other burst skills are superior to it so the warrior would rather use adrenaline on them. I play gs warrior a lot and pretty much the only time I use it is if I want to process cleansing ire immediately and I can’t weapon swap
The only one worth using is phalanx strength. Even then you need specific gear to make the skill work. Not exactly the build diversity that I was hoping for with new traits.
For a start they could at the very least make it an aoe attack, like the auto attack chain, instead of single target. A faster attack animation would be nice as well.
Hammer is not bad in PvP. In pve it is rather week because a lot of stuff cannot be stunned. I did switch from a power hammer warrior to a condi warrior in wvw though because it is a stronger roamer now because of hammer damage nerfs. Can’t kill anyone good because damage is to low. Hammer stun still lows good in any team fights though.
You can’t really compare the leagues to anything else, much less a competitive league. Using the guildwars 1 analogy … each team was limited to 8 players and each team was to field 8 players. That fasciliated a battle in which the higher skilled players won.
In guildwars 2 each team has a maximum number of people that can be battling at any time. Generally this is never reached except by the most populated servers on prime times.
Are you really complaining about people outside of Gold getting the same rewards as the people in Gold? This game isn’t set-up in a sense where higher tiered = better player. Higher tier pretty much = more population with vary few viarances between. If Gold was given better rewards than the others it just further compounds the issue of sever stacking.
I have played in on many severs all the way from 1st to 24th. I can tell you that nothing makes you work harder than being on the bottom where every fight is truly a battle. I find it Ironic how you want higher rewards in gold when in reality each player there (with some exceptions) does not have to work as hard as players in lower tiers. You can disagree with this but it is my perception from playing up and down the tiers.
Doesn’t look like a good patch for warriors. Could be the end of gw2 for me if I feel like they are in the trash bin after actually playing with the updates.
I wouldn’t have a problem with a small healing signet nerf if it wasnt that every other class is being buffed. Kind of a wait and see now if the warrior can keep up with other classes.
I would of also preferred to see healing signet scale more with healing power if the base is being reduced.
Build is pretty close to this.
The trinkets and armor may be different but there are many different want to get to the same or similar stats and the stats are what matter.
Signet master is not being used but I couldn’t see anything better to put the final 5 points in so I put it there. Sigil of bursting was used because I assume he would have a weapon with it on to switch to once he is full stacks. I would consider the condition damage on this build to be fairly low but I guess it is a battle of attrition.
You did good but I watched the video for 10 minutes and didn’t see you fight a single good player.
Both condi and zerker/defense hammer warrior can solo camp before swords pop but generally you should be getting 40 seconds or less. I consider a gs/hammer warrior a better build for roaming for mobility reasons. I also have a better 1v1 win percentage as a zerker/mels rune hammer warrior but different builds will be better vs different people.
LOL. There was one change to the professions skills in the patch, it happen to be thieves, and it was listed as a bug fix.
You can still kill the golems that they might have in there and scout where
groups are leaving. Its not like this is a complete non issue.
If you like solo roaming don’t go above t6. I have accounts in both kaineng and jq and I spend most of my time playing in kaineng. I find the t1 wvw very boring. Fights are usually roll or get rolled and there isn’t really a sense of you committing anything as an individual player.
Is this actually a legitimate complaint people have or just a troll? A kill shot build that does this much damage is completely speced for it and is almost useless outside of getting goofs from the big damage the skill does. There is a reason you don’t see a lot of warriors with rifles.
The one loss was to a ranger…
Losing to a ranger is usually a sign that you should switch to a game more suitable for your skill level. Perhaps try Minecraft?
Perhaps if a ranger is the best player I have encountered on your server than the rest of your server needs to improve their personal skill level.
In the last two weeks I have spent probably 40 hours roaming in GoM BL. I this time I have i have probably went about 100 wins 1 loss in 1v1’s. It’s hard to keep track of the wins because each one is so insignificant. The one loss was to a ranger in GLNT but can be asterisked because he was by a tower and was able to run back in and out of it.
Today I was facing a Mesmer from GoM with a legitimate shot at beating me but some ASH guys had to come and ruin it. Is ASH one of the largest guilds on GoM? I have found consistency that they are some of the least skilled players I have run into.

It is possible to target someone here. Reason I ask is in all my time playing I have never been hit there. I was targeted by both a necro and an engineer while operating the arrow cart.
