There is simple solutions to this…
- Character must have complete all race stories.
- Racial background/stories will be selected randomly.
- If a minor race has been help and is not available for the new race : random choice
- Race armors are “lost” (because you bought T3 for the skin, not the stats and T1/T2 are cheap anyway)
Or they let you choose background too and reset personal story with a “no reward mode” until you reach the same personal story level again.

Currently, all Dragon Stand events waves are started simultaneously every two hours.
People who miss the time window must wait for hours to retry and some maps stay empty and people can leave with bitterness.
What I suggest is simple and can be implemented for every major event chains.
Dragon Stand, Octovines, Orr Temples, World Boss.
- When a major event (or events chain) start, the map instance become “locked”.
- Every character inside or coming to a “locked” map instance become “attune” to this map instance.
- When an “attuned” character is disconnected or its game crashed, a short timer start.
Only when the timer end, the character place in the map instance is unlocked for everyone wanting to join. Time not too short, not too long, like 5 min.
- An “attuned” character will always bypass the dispatcher to go back to the map instance he was “attuned” to.
- Going to an other map or map instance remove the old “attunement”.
For Dragon Stand more specifically.
The events chain will start every half hour instead of every 2 hours.
So people missing the time window will have less waiting until the next start.

That’s how they manage to not be obliterated by Elder Dragons.
The Six Humans Gods disabled the Bloodstone and even broke it later, letting the magic flow again.
Magic IS a natural thing, but creatures start feeding on it and became the Elder Dragons.
Either they are completely different creatures with similar features.
Or the last six survivors of a specie in civil war for magic.
Or six beings from a whole specie of dragons that decide to feed on magic and became corrupted by the power it gives to them.
Cancer or monsters. Both end dead soon.
They forget recipes.
Scribes also have issues with missing recipes.
People would hate you for making their character “weak”.
Also, it would make race relevant for optimisation, what is not intended and complicated.

The maps are great and beautiful and coordinated (and relentless), but I don’t feel like I’m my own character in charge of their destiny in a large well designed world. I feel like I’m one overworked creep in a map wide moba and I’m not the champion or summoner.
How could you be in charge of your destiny outside a solo RPG?
There are thousands of people and A.net can’t make content designed for each one.
If you want that, you should look for an RP and UGC featured MMOG.
- People designing their own quests, able to build and reshape the world.
- No NPC game where everything must be done by players (economy, crafting)
- Where you can’t achieve great things alone and need others for your character to live “decently”.
- Where you can be killed, pickpocketed, robbed, arrested/kidnapped by other players. Even enslaved! (every of your weapon stole, put into a mine with a pickaxe with a gate guarded by players 20 levels over yours).
But even there, there would be people that would not be able to “make their own destiny”, because others will be better than them and would make them secondary characters.

Do not confuse challenging and interesting with “hard”.
Central Tyria is boringly easy because the game mechanics were all pristine new and there were not any MMORPG with these game mechanics before (no holy trinity).
Now that they’re more used to the gameplay of the game, they’re able to make monsters that you can’t kill while watching lolcats on YouTube.
That’s what we see in Magus Falls, and it was requested for years.
Do you know that these kind of guild exists from the beginning?
There are even guilds from day one that want you to log only for them from 5PM to 5AM!
Nothing new there… Just ignore them as before.
If you want to force people to give something to the guild, you’re not a guild.
You’re a taxing governement.
Look for white/blue ground area, they grants speed buff.
Party with people, so you’ll have a priority on their buffs.
Consider using a Warhorn.

I have purchased the storage expansion, so I can store up to 500 of each store-able item. It’s still not enough. I love the suggestion to raise it to 999! I would even buy another store expansion to be able to do so!

Champ snipers are a nightmare. Elites are something to be rightfully feared, but to be honest even veteran snipers can easily kill groups. This happens all the time in Tarir where people ignore them (I find myself killing them alone, and it takes for ever since veteran mobs there seem to have double the HP despite only being level 80).
People ignore them, and the elite frogs, because they can be ignored since they are moving around, but once it comes to the octovine vulnerable phase both the snipers and the elite frogs can and do wipe groups without a problem.
But with some practice you’ll come to realize they are not that problem. Just strafing makes them miss the firey line on the ground. They will shoot three arrows in a row and those needed to be dodged. They will run in our direction and do a knockback kick but it’s not particularly dangerous. The danger lies in ignoring them when they stealth to go hit something else or forget that they exist.

It prevent full bunkering team to kill the boss with AA watching netflix, but there are other mechanics that can act like it.
We have already seen AoE that can grow slowly, debuff that stack themselves slowly.
A boss putting a growing AoE at the beginning of the fight will make a hell for bunkering team after few minutes because the AoE will cover everything.
A boss putting a debuff on everyone at the beginning of the fight that deal 100 DPS, increased by 20% every 10s will counter full bunkering too.
- 0min : 100 DPS
- 1min : 299 DPS
- 2min : 891 DPS
- 3min : 2662 DPS
- 4min : 7950 DPS
- 5min : 23737 DPS
By adjusting the interval of increase, the amount of increase, and the initial DPS, devs can scale how much survival people need as a base to survive it, and how lengthy the fight can go before being too punishing against bunkering.
But we also need fight where bunkering is helpful. And fight where conditions are useless. And fights where direct damages are useless. And fights where critical are useless. And fights where condi cleanse is needed.
A Dungeon is max 5 players instanced content.
A Raid is min 6 players instanced content.
Fractals because we live past events again. And they can add agony if they want to spice things up. For obvious reasons, it can’t be present day :D
What do you think of Fractals with more than 5 people? Raids with Agony?

We still have trouble with tiger+lion because the pack instinct of the lion is conflicting with the solitary hunter instinct of the tiger, giving liger mental troubles…
And it’s a natural occuring interspecing with close species…
Unless you want a franken psychotic monster unable to live without artificial engines, it’s a dead end.
Also, experimenting things like that on intelligent creatures is forbidden by Rata Sum laws. No help, no recognition, no fundings.
What about Fractal Raids ?
They could be used for main events of LS1.
I would love to see a Lion’s Arch Battle and Tower of Nightmares as Fractal Raids !
Being able to replay those events would be awesome.
I have good memories of these LS1 chapters
(even if I still acknowledge that Scarlet character was badly designed).
Sadly, it ended. But with raids, we could get the same “feeling” of many people trying to help Lion’s Arch inhabitant against Aetherblades, or choping their way to the top of the tower.
Lion’s Arch Battle already have “bosses” with the three Assault Knights and Scarlet’s Prime Hologram.
The toxic areas of these two chapters could now apply Agony, decimating people without enough AR.
What I don’t want :
- Being unable to use gliding and mushroom jump.
- The addition of a DPS meter. DPS is not everything. However, a solo fight, checking if someone have enough DPS & Survival for raiding, gating the access to raids is a thing.
There is Risen and Icebrood Quaggan.
Draconic Corruptions can’t mix.
Quaggan aren’t Dragon minions in their natural state.
Because I want to be versatile.

Casual can be hardcore.
Casual = no much time to play.
That’s why they change Fractals for exemple. Now you just do 1 fractal instead of 3+boss.
And there is an AR checker !
I don’t want a fully upgraded guild hall, but as a small wvw guild i want a arena in our guildhall so that we can use it for the purpose it is there. I certainly don’t want to merge in to a big guild, that is ridiculous, i am in a guild with a certain aim, and joining a blobby guild with milions of people having to share the arena with them, well sorry that is not working for us, we want to have the arena to be able to invite other guilds to fight with us when ever we want and the enemies are avaiable, not when the arena might be free and not full of 300 members that create lag.
At this point this will take ages for us to get a fully upgraded arena, and we are punished because we are small with a aim, a aim that the guild halls are meant to be used for.
My guild have 10 active members. We unlocked Arena II two days ago.
