In my mind…
Spectral Armor would fit a projectile reflection, projectile reflected is a trade seeing that the damages aren’t reduced and doesn’t grant life force (no damages taken).
For Stability, I suggest that Well of Blood pulse give a 1s Stability. It’s a trade with Consume Conditions. A choice to make, depending on the situation.
Or Well of Blood could became a Water Field.
I don’t want to join “5 guilds hall”, I ask if we could get more guild slots
For the “too much personal guild bank”, a system can be made that prevent someone to lead more than one guild.
I don’t want guild banks, I don’t care at all about them.
It’s as “friend list folders” and “private chat room” we use so much guilds. (Roleplayers)
Erf :/ We can get the character slots, why not guilds slots?
In my case, I need more guilds slots than character slots. No doubts they’re also others who need more guilds slots.
With the arrival of the guilds halls at Heart of Thorns, will we be able to join more than 5 guilds?
We could unlock one guild slot per character slot bought, or buy them separately, or get them from an other way.
The boss lack a little “stomp” for melee class, with a knockback.
It’s better to be scared now and wait for a fix instead of letting the revenant released like that and making all the population roll revenants and let others professions deads for a year.
Scarlet Briar received an unusual permission, but it’s Omadd who negotiated with the Arcane Council for her to be able to attend the teachings of Asuran Colleges. She was then banned from Rata Sum and, considering what happened next with Scarlet, the Arcane Council will probably not make these exceptions anymore.
Don’t take this dark Mary Sue as an example. And she’s the only known.
Asura definitely are able to work with other species, we see that a lot in the Pact, but Asura tends to keep their secrets for themselves, even among them. It’s better to sell a fish to an hungry man everyday than sell him a fishing lesson! Asuran krewes also hire other species as secretary, hunter, messenger, … Anything that can let them focus on the intellectual part without taking time to manage golem workers or do it themselves.
Hi!
As a roleplayer, I need more than 5 guild slots and would like to buy more (even if it cost 200 gems I will farm for them).
If I have to list the current guilds type I need to join as a roleplayer… And I don’t have five characters yet ! I already need :
- McM Guild
- PvE/Friend Guild
- Roleplay Community Guild
- Order of Whispers Guild
- Durmand Priory Guild
- The Pact Guild
- Tyrian Explorers Guild
- Blood and Claw (Charr warband guild)
- Lost Century (Lion’s arch tavern guild)
- Honeymoon (Divinity’s Reach tavern guild)
And I could give so much more guild names I know exists on my server…
Inquest, Seraph, Shining Blade, High Legions, Sylvari Dreamers, Nightmare Court, The Vigils, Lion’s Guard, …
There’s also a guild for current Living World I can’t join because I’m already capped.
PvE events appearing when a map stay unchanged too long could help giving people something to do when there no opponents on the map.
I was previously killed, but an unknown spirit allowed me escape the Underworld to be reborn as a lv 1 Revenant.
That’s not how it work.
It’s not a world of warcraft deathknight.
It’s not a world of warcraft “everything resurrectable (unless for the plot)”.
You must learn to use magic and it take ages.
Everyone is born with the ability to wield magic.
There’s no special requirements.
Revenant are just modern Ritualist from GW1.
Ritualists channel other-worldly energies that summon allies from the void and employ mystic binding rituals that bend those allies to the Ritualist’s will.
Hello energies of the mist
The energy they channel drives Ritualist skills which enhance the deadliness of an ally’s weapon and wreak havoc on an enemy’s health.
Hello buff skills
Ritualists are masters of spirits, able to call upon them in battle for aid.
Hello echoes of mighty heroes and demons in the mists.
The Ritualist can also use the remains of the dead to defend the living-not by reanimating corpses as a Necromancer would, but through the ritual use of urns and ashes.
Hello necromancer-like skills.
Hi!
I’m here with a suggestion.
When we stow a pet in avoid combat mode, if our character enter in fight mode, the pet isn’t summoned automatically.
The pet must be summoned manually by clicking on Activate Pet or F1 to F4.
So we can avoid to have the pet in specific case where it’s more convenient to not have him thant him helping us.
Also, when going underwater or coming back to land with a stowed pet, the pet stay stowed.

Game bug: Personal Storyline (Charr, Blood Legion) “Time for Promotion”
After the “defeat Urvan Steelbane” step, you must talk to Rytlock and choose to recruit Soure or Fynn, and then the quest is completed.
The bug is that directly when defeating Urvan Steelbane, the quest abruptly complete and you’re stuck without the ability to talk to Rytlock and choose the next step.
Don’t do “Time for Promotion” until the devs fix it or avoid Blood Legion character creation choice. I asked to the support and they explain not having any tool for fixing Personal Story quests. You’ll have to delete and recreate your character.
I am hoping its a 3 chose system where you can chose more dps or more support or more tank. The 4th chose would be choosing to stay a balance set up by not choosing any of the 3.
Control OR Support.
Not DPS, not Tank, not Heal.
Better to not improve DPS because everyone will have to take it.
My one thing: Add offhand sword.
News from this? 2015 came.
Would be great if Aegis is only visible if in PvP Arena or in fight mode.
Magical staves are for wizards. You described the Guardian’s staff.
Pistols may apply Torment (try to walk with bullets in your legs !), Cripple, Bleed.
The Torment will be more suited for a Burst skill (no Torment at the beginning of a fight so).
Yeah, but as we can attest in PvP, 2 human heroes on average can walk over 1 charr hero without much trouble
Zhaitan fight is a bad example because in almost all other places in the game it’s the hero (or heroes) doing all the stuff while the NPCs are taking dirt naps or cowering behind walls etc. Look at Silverwastes. The Pact isn’t even sending any troops to take the forts. They just chill and wait. And why shouldn’t they, as they have 200 immortal Pact Commanders on each map taking those forts for them.
Absurd, I know, but that’s what happens when you have a story with 200 thousand heroes.
That’s because they prevent Charrs to come with their artillery. Charr’s cannons will blow any Human hero in one strike.
In fact they have these too, since they’re human mimic, but they aren’t functionning. They’re sterile.
These are the players statistics, not the real one.
Charrs outnumber Humans and are more advanced technologicaly than them. Many Asura think that Humans are living museum pieces to study before their extinction. Only one out of five kingdom remain for what they know. Human population decreased brutally. Also, while others races can sustain themselves, Humans have to buy food and things to the others.
And even if they manage to reclaim Ascalon… For what? Having to fight Ascalon’s Ghosts, Flame Legion, Branded, Ogres, Renegades, and the local fauna additionnaly to Centaurs and bandits?
A branched MMO couldn’t work…
Human/Norn => Use a first and last name (Eldric Cooper / Ulvric Johansson)
Charr => Use a first and warband name (Rawl Dustblade)
Asura => Use a title and a first name (Magicist Friff)
Sylvari => You’re kittened!
It’s not an issue at all.

Hi!
I was wondering… Is Tyrian Explorers Society related to Durmand Priory? Are they “friend” or “rival” organizations? Or is Tyrian Explorers Society a branch of the Durmand Priory? Who are they?
Opening post : 27th February 2013
Today : First November 2014
1 year – 8 months – 4 days
@Nicholas S Lin.6187
Or they can develop Norn background and history instead of adding a new race.
Because they left Far Shiverpeaks because of Jormag. And if they develop Norn lore, it’ll expand Spirits of the Wild lore too. We’ll know what happened to the Spirits who remained, letting Norns flee to safety. And it’ll develop Svanir’s Sons lore, because they worship Jormag and are Norns too.
If they could expand lore or current races instead of adding new one.
I call it the Warcraft Syndrom. When a company add races just to provide something “totally new” and let everything else rot in a corner because it’s not “totally new” anymore. Blood elves were forgotten for 6 YEARS by Blizzard and Draenei/Worgen never get anything since the time were they’re “new races”.
Also, do you want more clipping issue ? It’s how you get more clipping issue. And any other flaw because they’ll never fix bugs if GW2 get Warcraft Syndrom. Why bother with not new races bugs? Make a new one and people will forget them!
1) Asura
2) Charr
3) Norn
Because they mainly do things for Humans and Sylvaris
A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.
RNG is the worst design ever for “rare item”. RNG reward luck over assiduity.
Tokens is the fairest system. You want a thing ? You have to do something this many times.
RNG is : You can have it by doing this. When ? Immediately, or later… maybe… If you try fifty times you can have it… or five hundred… We don’t know. Many players from World of Warcraft were disgusted by there “everything is RNG” policy even for extremely low rate (hello 0.1% drop rate).
RNG is good for high drop rate to add somme mystery. Token for low drop rate to prevent digust. Token and RNG can be mixed. Token have a high drop rate.
Today, the Destroyer has been killed in nearly one minute.
I read you but…
Making 1st Zephyr match 1st January :
• Mad King week is one month late (or more).
Making 1st Zephyr match 21th March :
• Wintersday is almost three months too early
• Mouvelian Calendar don’t match Gregorian Calendar (which was the purpose of adding five days)
I think that an holiday at the wrong season is better than the new year holiday too early and calendar desynchronized.
(edited by Kulvar.1239)
An example : Ascalon City (2010 Wintersday). The whole area is covered by natural snow.
For the 1 Zephyr = 1 January…
Tyria is an imaginary world, it’s not like we can travel to Tyria or from it. This could let us see that seasons arent synchronized. There’s no point in making the years of Tyria begin at a different moment than ours. It’s the same reason that make devs add days to Mouvelian calendar : to match our years.
As said in the wiki Wintersday
Every winter the cities of Tyria glisten with festive decor, and the air is filled with snowballs and the sound of laughter. Buy some holiday treats from the seasonal vendors or embark on quests to aid the gods! Don’t get left out in the cold—join the Wintersday fun!
Wintersday is a special event that occurs annually from December 19, 20:00, to January 2, 20:00 UTC, which celebrates the Tyrian New Year according to the Mouvelian calendar and Dynastic Reckoning. It is the celebration of the end of the Season of the Colossus and the beginning of the Season of the Zephyr, decided through the outcome of a battle between the gods, Grenth and Dwayna. During Wintersday, snow covers the lands and the Snowmen and Grentches appear to spread their versions of the celebration across the land, through giving and destroying presents respectively.
New year, Colossus to Zephyr, snow (meaning that seasons exists).
Maybe Mad King is put one month late to match Halloween date ? It’s a complete mess…
As said…
we don’t see real snow during winter
But as said too, it’s because
GW2 game don’t include season and meteorological management. In the books there clearly seasons.
Snow included.
Halloween is a fall holiday in real life, but I haven’t found any clue that while it’s Halloween, it’s fall in the game too.
1st Zephyr = 1st January.
Since Wintersday is around december. But it’s true that it means that GW2 seasons begin 80 days earlier than IRL.
There’s snow in the Shiverpeaks, but the fact that we don’t see real snow during winter is only gameplay. GW2 game don’t include season and meteorological management.
In the books there clearly seasons.
Since gods left Tyria 1327 years ago and seasons keep going, the fight between Grenth and Dwayna is only a Human myth.
Today is the 9th october 2014.
But it’s also the :
- 8th of the Colossus season
- 9th of the Colossus season
- 12th of the Colossus season
Because no one tell us how the five days were added. So people add them where they want.
The lazy way – 12th of the Colossus season
Days were add at the end of the calendar, expanding Colossus season.
- Zephir is 90 days long
- Phenix is 90 days long
- Scion is 90 days long
- Colossus is 95 days long (96 during a leap year)
The logical way – 8th of the Colossus season
Days were dispatch among each season.
- Zephyr is 91 days long
- Phenix is 92 days long
- Scion is 91 days long
- Colossus 91 days long (92 during a leap year). (1)
The practical way – 9th of the Colossus season
A season is equal to three real life months.
- Zephyr is 90 days long (91 during a leap year)
- Phenix is 91 days long
- Scion is 92 days long
- Colossus 92 days long.
What do you thing about that ?
(1) Go well with Wintersday myth of Grenth not wanting to let winter end and Dwayna having to fight him to bring Zephyr season.
For the title : the Doctor have many faces and few people know what he look like. Even his friends can’t recognize him sometimes because of his body changes.
A “group of adventurers” don’t work well. Imagine you’re in GW3. What history will be teached? That an “adventurer” was second to command of the Pact, of an unknown specie, with an unknown gender, member of one of the Order but we don’t know which one, with an unknown name, but he help defeat Elders Dragons, had a vision of how Tyria and the Elders Dragons are linked and organize a G5 with the major races.
In real life we know people from ancient history. The Durmand Priory have archives of everything but never mentionned this character? Nonsensical.
Male or female? Norn? Asura? Charr?
Where (s)he come from?
Who is (s)he? What’s his/her name?
It’s what happen when you want everyone to be “The Chosen One”.
You make a black hole in the lore and say “this, it’s you” to everyone.
But what if two or more people try to roleplay together?
Millions of people for the same role! Schizophrenic.
There’s three way to design content : in, around, out.
Making everyone “The Chosen One” is the IN method. It let the lore with eternal holes.
The OUT method is acting like people are just witness of what happen.
And there’s the AROUND method. Why Arena.net don’t use the AROUND method?
What’s the AROUND method? It’s when the player is not “The Chosen One” nor a simple observer.
Example. Do you remember Omadd’s machine? They choose the IN method and the player is “The One Who Had The Vision”. If they have done it with the AROUND method, the player and two NPC have had the vision (like Taimi, who was already in the machine, and Braham who tried to pull her out too). The player is involved in the events, but he’s an optional character and roleplayers/futur lore content can skip the player presence if needed.
If they make “raids”, I suggest to Arena.net to don’t make them with a fixed number of people. While doing them with friends or guild, it would be sad to let someone behind because “we can’t take more people”.
A.net already do this and move “Personal Story” entrance to Fort Trinity Airship to avoid sending people in Orr with an underpower character.
But currently, the order isn’t correct. You purify the Source of Orr, Trahearne tell you that it’s nearly over and you must kill Zhaitan, and after you have to kill the first Eye, and weaken Zhaitan’s armies…
(edited by Kulvar.1239)
Illogical order, missing parts. The source of Orr need to be the last part again.
Just because they want to have personal story every 10 level ? Nonsensical !
A good and logical story flow is better than a “scenarised kiling every 10 levels”.
Example of level distribution :
(lvl 10) – First racial arc
(lvl 17) – Second racial arc
(lvl 24) – Racial order choice
(lvl 31) – Order initiation
(lvl 38) – Minor race help
(lvl 45) – Battle of Claw Island
(lvl 52) – The greatest fear
(lvl 59) – Follow Zhaïtan Eye
(lvl 66) – Stop the undead factory
(lvl 73) – Order’s plan choice
(lvl 80) – The Source of Orr
(edited by Kulvar.1239)
Thanks you everyone!
Hi!
After some time as a roleplayer and casual PvE, I now want to have a “main character”. But I can’t decide which one to choose. And now that we need to level up a character to nearly max level for them to work properly (thanks to previous feature pack that delay trait points and spell unlock), I want your help because I have no time to character to max level, thinking I don’t like it, and retry with an other one.
Some informations about my tastes to help :
I don’t mind playing melee or range, but I like having range when needed (if a foe is surround with a deadly cloud for example).
I like versatility. When playing at WoW, I played heal, tank, and DPS. I want to be able to support my mate or control foes a little.
I’m more a thinker than a reactive one. I need time to react. It means a buff, spell, class mechanic, or armor to not die in three slash.
Do you remember where she is exactly ? I can’t found her sadly.
Work with conjured weapons too (just discovered it with lava axe). But conjured weapons can be “share” to exploit the bug for everyone.
At lvl 16 I was able to set all utility slots and elite (but I haven’t any elite at the moment).
Of course I submited a ticket after these tests.
A new event near Smokestead teach us that Griffons can hunt Charr cubs to eat them.
Have you find something else ?
While looking for a name, background animation is more and more jerky as hours pass.
What’s more annoying that falling in an empty map while going to a World Boss and couldn’t do it because of the lack of players ?
Some suggestions :
- Increase map players limitation during world boss, so people logged out or coming late could it too.
- Prevent new map generation during world boss.
- Before the world boss event, generate enough map for the average number of players doing it. (need the use of some data gathering and analysis about it). It’s better to have 10 maps 90% filled than 9 maps 100% filled and 1 map 10% filled.
- If a map is nearly empty at the boss pop, close the empty and give people a free TP (without buff).
Green tag could be use by roaming groups to show where they are.
If they want to make a clear distinction between /em and other emotes, it would be better to just change the color of the name (white or light grey)
white pseudo / gray emote
It could be also usefull to roleplayers because they could do “/em The innkeeper grab the coins.” The color change will help doing this kind of emote.
Everytime a magical threat come, a big sword in the face work as a solution…
In the swamp south to Divinity’s Reach, you just slash portals with a sword to close them and do the same to expel shadows. When you need more than sword, there’s always an artifact/asuran gadget/charr device.
There’s a quest where a necromancer try to call a ghost with valuable informations, but it’s said as dangerous and very uncommon.
The only ones that have something other to do are mesmers who can use their illusions and portals (Queen Jennah, Kasmeer Meade, Countess Anise, Lady Wi)
What’s wizards purpose if anyone with a big sword can expel magical threats ?
Currently in the game, necromancers and elementalists are just walking artillery. Or did I miss something ?
