Today, I beat the Swampland fractal with a pug group. Overall, I think the health is a bit too high. The mechanics aren’t… too bad. The constant knockdown, however, makes me cry. Angry tree reminds me way too much of the angry Lyssa gorillas. Those… terrifying…angry…purply-pink killing machines…

It took from Bloomhunger start to Bloomhunger finish – 15 minutes. HOWEVER! That was after 2 wipes (one of which happened at 25%, the other at 35-ish %) To this learning fractal probably took about 40ish minutes? give or take

Right now, potions are essential. I don’t mind this. Most upper level fractals require my little zerker self to have potions. Gawd that angry tree hurts.

What I didn’t particularly like is that it forced me to bring a weird set of utilities just so I could help keep my team alive, and keep myself alive, too. Graaanted… my team was four necros and me… and they did an amaaazing job at keeping everything else dead, while I just piddly-healed everything I could. I warned them, going in, that bloom needed to move, so they had to drop their minion master build (their choice, not mine!). I, too, had to keep my pet on passive because Bloom goes for it.

It’s the same sort of problem we had with the dredge (plus a ton of other nasty additives, heh). Too much health, and the dredge boss focuses spirits, minions, pets, and likely clones (didn’t have a mesmer, cannot confirm). This forces me, as a ranger, to lose half of my damage (if not more than half my damage) which would otherwise be given by my pet (of course, staying in staff and celestial instead of going to longbow also takes off my damage… but living teammates are better than damage!). It also forces me to constantly keep an eye on my pet while trying to keep on eye on my poor zerker/viper buddies around me. (f2 puts silly little passive pet into combat)

Honestly? I like the fight. I’d like it more if my pet didn’t have to be on passive. I’d like it a lil’ more if AngryTree didn’t have so much hp. I’d also like it a little more if I had someone to give me stability. I chose not to have that elite in order to synergize the healing a bit more… but I’m still not sure my elite would have been enough. It is, however, true that Bloom’s attacks are easily dodged, or moved away from (that’s proved in the vid, too).

It does kinda suck if you’ve already used your breakstun, and he knocks your butt down again. EVERYthing he does, I feel, is a knockdown. It’s really, really hard to bring forever stunbreaks… and my ally stunbreak is a ridiculously tiny circle compared to Bloom’s aoe knockdown circle.

Anyhoo! Enjoy the video. I do like the improved fractal, and I’ll like it more in the future, I’m sure. A few tweaks to make it slightly shorter would be good.

Can we just… change that… please?

For anyone who has completed Ad Infinitum, it’s a glider skin, too. It’s pretty… and one of the few you can get that is not strictly gem store. Did it really have to come with a high pitched, ear piercing screeching sound?

I know it’s supposed to be a magical noise or something to remind you of the mists… and as annoying as high level fractals can be, that sound is worse. Please, PLEASE for the sanity of your players… change it… get rid of it… I don’t care, just don’t keep it a single, high pitched note going on and on and on.

…alternately… is there a way to turn that off for myself besides turning off all sound? (I honestly haven’t checked…)

Is anyone else noticing this?

It seems like a seriously trivial thing, but it’s also… weird and annoying.

So. If you’re not doing anything, and you’re using your camera (right click and such) to view around you, and move in that direction… your character moves in that direction. When, however, you stop for a tree, and you go slightly too far, click F, your character turns to the tree (makes sense). Mosey on your way by pressing your forward key… and your character walks in the direction it is facing…

Seems like it should be working like that, but it hadn’t been doing that before. If the camera was turned a specific way, the character would walk that way regardless of which way it turned in combat/logging/mining/etc.

Another example that happened (A LOT in fractals)… super massive mob where I’m in the middle of all the enemies, and my character is fighting them. All the particle effects make me somewhat unaware of which way my character is actually turned. My camera angle, however, is turned AWAY from the cliff (yay cliffside)… Up until today, it was safe to assume that I could just press forward, and my character would move in the direction the camera was facing. To my dismay, I pressed forward and my character walked happily off the cliff in cliffside – completely opposite from the camera angle… – because she was fighting a monster on the cliff, and I didn’t re-click the camera view to remind my character that, hey, I’m looking away from the cliff… and walking off that direction is a bad idea…

Please tell me this isn’t just happening to me?

I had to do a few tests to figure out that, yes, it is dependent upon the character interacting (via log chopping, or mob hacking) with something in a different direction than the camera view, and not re-clicking the camera before moving. (am I making any sense??)

Show All NPC/Enemy/Player Names Constantly On

I don’t know when it happened, and I don’t know why… but I cannot hide names. It just… it won’t work, and it’s a silly, simple thing, but it’s annoying. I only noticed it today. I’m sorry I can’t be more specific…

Added screen shot. Everything is unchecked, but names are still showing. I couldn’t find a random player near me, but in the airship, I assure you that the player names were also staying in view, instead of going away.

Usable Object names and Showing My Name works just fine… but the other three definitely have something wrong with ’em. Please fix! (it was… so hard to heal players when all I saw were minions and minions, and so many more minions…)

So…… the guild decoration trader only allows you to buy one thing for the token. The tokens (to my knowledge) cannot be sold (account bound!), and there’s no other use for them except to buy decorations for the guild. Even Zommo doesn’t want them…

Now, I can totally see how the confirm is in there so that you don’t buy an item for a guild you don’t want to give it to… but… can we please, please just get rid of it?

I have now acquired over 2 stacks of SAB furniture coins for my guild hall (Home made jumping puzzles, heck yeah!), and I really, really, REALLY don’t want to click “yes, yes, I do want this cloud of which I can only obtain one at a time, and which is the only thing I can buy with this silly coin.” …over.five.hundred.times…

I’m sorry if this topic was already posted. I went on several of the forums, and checked a few pages back, and couldn’t see it.

Thank you SO much if you actually remove the confirm for (at least) the SAB coin, and (perhaps!) the rest of the decoration tokens, too!

Suggestion: Guild Guide NOT on main tab

The guild stuff has all changed, that’s great. Most of it is great, and I love it, and thank you for doing everything.

The guild window however, is utterly obnoxious, and WAY too cluttered. The guide frame that has a list of all the things I can click on to read a guide for does NOT have to be on the first tab. In fact, if you could make an entire new tab JUST for the guide, so if I ever want to – for some god forsaken reason – figure out how to guild right in guild wars 2, I can check a tab that’s dedicated for that specific purpose, that would be great!

Could we, instead, maybe have a list or icons of treasury items currently needed for the guild hall. I’m not saying ALL the treasury items that are necessary for the current upgrades, but only the ones that are not filled. If it has 49/50, show the icon (it can be small!), if it’s 20/200 show the icon with it’s little fill bar at the red. If it’s 300/300, do not show the icon at all.

I feel like this would be super helpful. I know you can put icons on the main tab because you already have a somewhat useful spot for the buff icons (sorry, I think it’s too cluttered and WAY too small for the FULL ICON to be in that dinky little space… maybe even cut those icons down to be a quarter the size they currently are if you can’t outright get rid of that tiny box next to the MotD).

Thank you for the wonderful upgrades for the guilds! I’m loving them, so far, even if some of the upgrade requirements for the guild buildings is a little steep.

I hope others agree with my suggestion! Or at least you consider it!

Stuck in the map or seeing map art issues?

It… bothers me.

The shadow in lions arch is directed the wrong way. I’ve moved the map multiple times and the sun in the sky stays right where it is. The shadow, however, does not move. I don’t suppose it should move, but it SHOULD – in the very least – line up right with the sun. That’s how these shadow things work. >.<

So, yeah. That’s what I found, silly as it is. I hope this counts under map art.

This happened at the time of their logout, or within the minute of it. I thought it was amusing, so I took a screen shot. I doubt it’s a pointful bug… but pointing it out since it is, technically, a bug.

Meh.

The way the schedule is, currently, means anyone who works 8-5 jobs, and has any sort of commute, will have to stay up ‘til extreme hours to get even one of the big bosses, unless, of course, they’re in the coveted server time zone.

The new schedule looks like it will seriously hinder me getting any sort of achievements for the larger bosses unless I stay up long enough to get all of 6 hours of sleep before my full day at work… or be there at the right times on Saturday.

The idea of skipping is probably because Anet already figures people do Teq at those times, and never any other times. So it isn’t that it’s immature and defiant as much as it’s pointless to show them what they already know.

I’m honestly more concerned about the jungle wurm being at 2300est…

Lagging ever since new patch

I’ve been getting serious lag since the patch. I have been gone for a week due to the holiday, but I doubt that has any bearing on it.

I am in Texas, USA using Time Warner cable internet. Yes, I use wifi to connect. I notice the lag most of the time when things die or spawn quickly. In Fireheart Rise, there’s an event that spawns 2-3 trolls at once. I didn’t see them until they were upon me, and both NPCs were dead (the ones lighting the lanterns) because the game lagged the moment they spawned. Again, in Fireheart (yeah, I’m mapping), I was defending the bridge for Citadel of flame. Three things died in quick succession of each other, and the game lagged on every single skill use. (I’m a necro with a staff, so it was each mark not being placed or triggered)

I turned my settings down to medium for animation in order to attempt to stop the lag, but it didn’t work. My autodetect puts everything at high. I use Windows 8.1 Pro, 64bit. 8GB of RAM, Intel i7 CPU… dual Radeon 7700 series graphics cards linked together … and I don’t know what else needs to be said (I’m not a tech person)

I’ve never lagged this bad on simple, simple things like npcs dying. So I don’t really know what to do.

Vanishing items from guild to personal stash

For future… this will happen a lot. I’ve transferred items and not had it show up in my inventory. Transferring another item, whatever it is, usually has both of them show up. Just don’t stack them on top of each other. The game remembers where the invisible stack is, even if you don’t. ;-)

If it only transfers 3 conditions from the caster to the enemies within the mark, then no. It is not the best skill in the game, nor one of them. If, however, it worked as it originally stated, then sure. Being able to get rid of conditions on allies and self is a great support… especially for MINION MASTERS… which I feel this skill was originally intended for.

Nerfing the skill to only get rid of three conditions from the caster with a 25s cooldown which will ALWAYS trigger, even when you DODGE to try to avoid larger aoe coming to kill you is not acceptable. IF it stays the way it was originally meant to be, then I can understand the 25s cooldown all the time. But not if it’s only for a 3 condition self transfer blast finisher (if triggered).

You seemed to have been trying to find a way to get minion masters a way to keep their pets alive and viable through fights. Staff skills and buffs are in the Death traitline, which, to me, shows that you meant it to be used for minion master builds. So why are you nerfing—no. Why did you nerf one of the biggest support abilities for the minion master four months ago without telling us? I’ve had devs respond to my posts saying it was brought to the attention of the bug fixers… or whatever you’re called.

Being told it was always intended, but not mentioned, is very, very, VERY disheartening.

EDIT: Elementalist’s Healing Rain (staff, water, skill 5) also gets rid of ally conditions. This doesn’t go into a full cooldown. I don’t understand why necros cannot be support, too.

Can you please put a sticky post in the bugs section where it actually says which email you need to send exploits to?

I feel like that would stop a lot of forum infractions when there are game breaking exploits we cannot bring to your attention in game. Most people don’t actually know what some of the super important emails are.

I play a ranger, and the fractal is actually not that bad for me. My ranged pet can hit the harpies, too. (Spider or devourer)

The problem, though, is that the knock back/off does NOT stay within the circle indicated. So you are not safe. If you are near the circle of influence, even if outside of it, you’re screwed. Jump back to the other platform and pray it is outside of the circle of influence’s circle of influence.

The BIGGEST problem is the INVULNERABLE harpies. Never, ever, ever fails. And I don’t even know why it happens. But it never goes away. I feel like I can help my team halfway, then the second half, for some reason, the harpies are like, “A RANGER! invulnerable buff! Eat this! rapid fire spike!” as I’m like, “oh… look… invulnerable while in range. joy. aaand dead.”

Leaper In The Mists unobtainable?

This glitch will happen with every one of the borderlands JPs. If someone else opens the door, even if you have the key, it will not work for you. If you do it on another character, with the key you already obtained, it should work. It is a bug, but there are ways around it. I have to tell every single one of my guildmates to NOT touch the vault before I do because of this bug.

Just make sure you are the one opening the vault, and it should not bug out on you.

Autorun + pickup object/interact bug

Hi. I know there’s always a problem with people running and picking up an object while running. I’m one of those unfortunate people where the object was always missed. Now, instead, the object gets picked up and the character moves a few more paces (hopefully not off a cliff).

Recently, though, I’ve noticed that if I’m autorunning, and I try to pick something up, it glitches out to the point where I cannot use skills at all.

I was in Lions Arch, I was autorunning (because I was goofing around), and I tried to pick up a warrior’s banner. I made the motion of picking up the banner, and had the buff as though the banner was in my hand, but did NOT get the banner skills, and the banner did not move from its spot on the ground. I then was unable to use my skills or interact with anything. The F key did not let me pick up the banner, though I tried. I could not cast spells, I could not even use my weapon. I was able to walk around with autorun again, but I could not interact. I even used the mouse click to interact, and it did nothing. IT gave me the warbanner in my hands “buff” but I didn’t actually get the banner, AND a guildy was able to pick it up as though I hadn’t ever touched it.

I’ve hated the run and pick up bug for a while, but this is worse. I had to relog in order to fix it. It happened to me again in WvW earlier today. Wanna know how fast an ele can go down in a fight when they can’t use any skills? Seconds. Also in a guild puzzle (Snowden Drifts), picking up a cool drake egg on my way past. I was unable to use skills, or interact again. :-/

Can you try to recreate this or look into it? Autorun + picking up a warbanner.. it’s a killer.

(if it helps, I was on my elementalist in wvw and in lions arch, but on my ranger in the guild puzzle)

Yes, please! Having a small interface due to having a large monitor and wanting to see more by making things smaller makes the trading post almost completely unreadable. It’s utterly annoying, and has been like this since its release.

I managed to get it. I do know that the first two attempts where it DID say evade, I did not get the achievement… but then I switched to the other (“north”) side of the tail, dodged, got 2 evade notices, and got the achievement.

15+ minutes? Most of the servers have now been trying to get over 120 people in an overflow and on teamspeak just to take this boss down. It is insane, and it is too much. If one little thing goes wrong… like there are 9 people at the turrets defending, instead of 8, then champs spawn, and people whine and cry, and BLAME those who made the champ spawn instead of being in the zerg with the rest of them.

It’s not 15+ minutes. It’s hours to a whole day because the server wants to be coordinating… and to do that with less AFKers, it most of the time means hijacking an overflow and staying there.

With how many people who want to kill Tequatl, this fight isn’t epic. It’s frustrating. It was an awesome idea, but either the health is too high, the number of champs spawning in a small location is too high, the reliance on the turrets is too much without any leeway, or something. Perhaps the insane amount of poison which cannot be even thought to be destroyed by the majority of the people was not the best idea.

MAYBE there should be two types of turrets. One that cleanses poison and buffs, and another type that debuffs Tequatl, or even better, allows those of us who like to stay back and protect to stay back and protect and kill mobs. Chain lightning turrets to do crowd control on the mobs?

Coordination of 80+ players is not possible. I’m sorry, it’s not. Not unless it is something along the lines of “Follow my commander tag and kill!”

Have YOU tried to get 80 people to jump at the same time without the star addition?

Again, I love the idea, but adjustments are needed. A lot of adjustments. GW2 doesn’t have straight up healers, so raids like this aren’t exactly possible. No offense.

Difficulty spike, yah. The jumps are just as difficult as they were in w1, maybe slightly more, it’s just less forgiving.

Inadequate rewards? Can’t farm? Oh thank GOD!

It’s a mini game. It shouldn’t be farmed. One of the things I absolutely did NOT like from SAB w1 release was that you were able to get legendary materials from it. This made people farm farm farm and FARM HARDER and more. It took people away from dungeons, took people away from mapping, took people away from stories; everything. The entire game of guild wars 2 was forgotten. It was just SAB SAB and more SAB.

It is still a nostalgia joy for those of us who grew up with these types of games. The rewards this time around are exactly what they should be… rewards for the minigame. You don’t have to farm it in order to get the rewards… unless you want every single weapon.

Don’t be so kitten yourself. Everyone has bumps in the road! The fact of the matter is that you were so excited about your minigame that you created an awesome second part to it… juuuuuuuuust a little harder than we were expecting. ;-) Still, it was a relief from the first one. Different. Good.

ALSO – darts, nerfed? really? Once you know they’re there, they’re easy to avoid! They’re not exactly hidden.

I’m not one of the biggest fans of Super Adventure Box for several reasons… but that doesn’t mean it was BAD. It’s still awesome. :-D And thank you for a great mini-game that can be enjoyed beside the regular game that is guild wars. :-P

Has anyone else had this bug? My guildmate told me that he had swiftness granted from another player, then put down his temporal curtain (focus skill 4), and there was no reaction at all. I, too, tried this on my Mesmer. I was granted speed from a guardian’s staff skill, then used my temporal curtain and received no speed boost at all.

However, when I used temporal curtain on my own, I was able to get the speed boost. It seems as though Temporal Curtain’s speed boost is not stacking with others. Is this intentional? If it is, that’s not quite fair… mesmers already don’t have very much speed to begin with.

Thanks ahead of time, devs, if you look into this!

Aetherblade farming during invasions

It’s not a brag… you can get 40 some odd bags.

What I wonder is why the Aetherblades do NOT go away once their overall bar reaches zero? There are easily 2-3 Aetherblade farms still left after that, which cuts into at least 10 minutes of the overall event.

If this is how Tequatl is going to go, too, no one will ever kill Tequatl because all everyone cares about is farming champ bags, and not getting to the end boss.

Please, please get rid of the aetherblades once their overall bar goes down?

At least you got a staff… when I got this bug (and I have on several occasions), I put in 4 daggers and got a harpoon gun… >.<

I’m not sure if it’s a bug, or if it’s a random chance. Though, if you got a staff EACH time you put in 4 greatswords, then… yeah… I’d say it’s a bug.

Don’t say we don’t get the same respect… we do. There have been several occasions where ANet has realized a mistake, and changed it. The Karma thing is just the most recent. They didn’t give us warning about the karma change, and everyone raged. So, what did they do? IMMEDIATELY reversed it, over-compensated us for karma we may have lost, and gave us the 2ish weeks to prepare for the next patch where the karma change would take effect.

I’m still going to keep playing the game. I’m still going to be making the same choices. I just would have liked to have an already made set to give to my warrior instead of having to recraft. The armor I made was created during my leveling of my armorsmith. Since I can’t boost that anymore, there’s no reason for me to recraft. However, if I were able to reuse the armor, it woulda been nice. Not necessary, but nice.

A lot of us are raging about it, but do we actually see Anet’s side? WHY did it all go accountbound? Because, otherwise, we’d change it to something that sells the most, then sell it?

Also, WHY is it still soulbound? Because those of us who have an additional armor set now will have to craft/buy an armorset for another character instead of getting a free one – just like everyone else?

But, now on our side, why can’t we give it to another character? If not for the patch, we’d still be using it, and it was solely there for magic find farming. So unlike everyone who chose not to do farming, we spent the additional money to make another set (via crafting or buying). Now that’s being taken away. Therefore, have we not already bought an additional armor “just like everyone else”, save for it being on the one char, instead of split over the two?

I was happy seeing it would go account bound because it meant I could still save up for a legendary as I’ve been trying over a year to do. (so I’m a fail farmer. not the point) Now it isn’t. Now I can’t. And it was due to a misunderstanding that I have to recraft instead of use hand-me-downs.

I’m disappointed, but I don’t disrespect them. Making a game is hard. Making a game and maintaining it as well as ANet does is even harder. I love this game with all its ups and downs… I just would prefer not to be thought into believing one thing, and getting something completely different. Or in the very least, not being told WHY it has to be a certain way, and WHY it isn’t another way (at least in this case).

There is a bag in world 1, Zone 3. It costs 250 baubles.

I would then go into world 1, zone 2, and dig for baubles. There’s a potential to nearly fill that bag if you know all the spots. ..provided they haven’t nerfed it.

I don’t understand why a non soulbound/non-account bound piece would suddenly become account bound. Is this so that people don’t make it a berserker stat and sell it on the TP?

Most of us want to use our old gear we put money into. I’m one of them. Even if I did craft it, it would be nice if my guardian’s old gear could go over to my new warrior. Otherwise, I really only see forging it as a use.

Magic find gear was dropped a lot whenever I was in fractals, or out about. Maybe I just have terrible RNG (which is likely the case), but that just means I have tons and tons of MF weapons and gear that I can now no longer sell to anyone, and some that I can’t even transfer to the players.

There is no place, anywhere, in your wording up to and during the patch that indicated soulbound items would remain soulbound. Some of our concerns before the patch were speaking directly of soulbound items. Let’s face it… the ONLY reason some of us had two sets were to farm/gather, and then to do things useful like dungeons/fractals/wvw.

Much as I’d love this fixed, I don’t honestly know how it can be fixed. I’ll probably just end up forging everything anyhow. Oh well. Maybe ascended gear will be part of the game by the time my warrior reaches 80, so I won’t have to craft without experience. Ta.

Yay. I can finally post this without it getting lost. Sorry it took so long, I was trying to follow directions.

Timberline Falls on Fort Aspenwood server.

Basically… it’s blurry. It’s ALWAYS blurry during the day. IT doesn’t matter if I’m fighting or not, but it’s always blurry. I don’t know if it’s the snow, or what, but everything is blurry. My character, close things, far things, trees. Timberline is one of my favorite maps, but when everything goes blurry when my graphics are on high, it just makes it painful to the eyes. I know one dev said he couldn’t recreate it… I don’t know how he can’t. It’s every morning. Every day. It never seemed to happen at night time (as in game night… map night… when it’s dark in the map sky).

Oh good. Someone else posted the bloodtide issues.

I feel like if there’s any part over the water, the watchwork enemies are afraid to come out. There’s also a place in fireheart rise where the enemies spawn out of reach, and so can’t be killed. :-/ I should have screenshot it. sorry. I’ll try again! (It’s in the southern part of the map)

Hey… this is the second time this has happened to me. Either it’s bugged, or it’s meant to work this way. According to the achievement, you have to respond to five of the portal invasions, and be there when each one ends.

I have responded to six. Only 4 have counted. During the six that I have responded to, I was booted out of the game due to my faulty internet (usually doesn’t happen, but I’m mad at it, so it’s the internet’s fault).

Both the times that I was kicked out of the game, even when I returned before the event, AND was there at the end of the event (but did not kill Scarlet ‘cause it’s hard to get to her before the zerg melts her to death). The event SUCCEEDED every time. The only thing that was different was that I was booted halfway through, and missed about five to ten minutes of the event.

I guess just see if you can fix the tracking? Or, at least, tell me if it’s not bugged, and it’s working how it is. Then I’ll just go cry in my corner and do more invasions…

It’s great that we got an upgraded fact sheet on putrid mark… but it’s STILL not working right.

It does NOT transfer conditions from allies to enemies when triggered. Can you please, please let people know about this and get it fixed? It’s been like this since Aetherblade dungeon. I do have an original post with more details, if you need.

It’s been a while since I went to Orr. This is in Malchor’s Leap. I was mapping, and when I went from Harbinger’s poi to Jinx’s Isle, there was some random strong current that kept pushing me back. My screen shot of my map shows the exact path I had to take in order to get around the current.

I don’t quite remember that odd current being there. I think, perhaps, it is a bug? Thought I’d bring it to your attention.

I’unno… kinda depends on the ally. ;-) Sending conditions to them might aid the group. LOL

It still transfers conditions from you to enemies, but still does NOT transfer conditions from allies in the mark to enemies in the mark. And considering this could help immensely with keeping minions alive, one would think that it was kinda essential… It’s also helpful for us supporter necros who like their teams staying alive!

I hate reposting… I truly do… but it’s been nearly an entire month. Putrid mark still does NOT work the way it is intended. It broke sometime after the second aetherblade patch.

I know full well that the mark was meant to, and had before, sent conditions from allies within the mark to at least one enemy in the same mark. It does NOT do this any more.

PLEASE look into it.

This happened to me, too. Sometimes it is bugged to the point that if anyone in your TEAM hits a trap, you do not get the achievement.

It took me a very, very long time to get this achievement. I’m pretty sure it’s still bugged, too. Try zooming in and paying extreme attention to the traps on the ground. I’m not sure how I got the achievement, but I know I did not touch any of the orbs. It is not necessary to do so.

Also, try Mesmer portals. Sometimes it works.
