Sooooo done with this game.
Cant stay on for longer than 2 seconds… but only sometimes. Seems completely random. Accept in Swampland fractal. There, it is always just “switching” off.
I give up on this class. GG Anet.
I doubt I will be buying gems anytime soon. Not until this nonsense stops.

Rushes… ha! The whole system is poorly done. Half our guild did not get credit for finishing the puzzle today, and no-one can tell me why.
This used to be something we looked forward to. Now its just frustration. Members don’t even want to do it any more, and I don’t want to tell them why they are not getting rewards…

Except that’s not how that works. At all.
That’s absolutely how it works. There are many very complex systems in this game. RNG boxes are not one of them, so don’t try and white-knight by pretending that coding an RNG box takes any amount of skill or experience, because it doesn’t.
You literally just slap an RNG with a if check onto every item in the loot table. If RNG produces a number above a threshold, then it appears in the box. This is not complex, and saying that they ’didn’t expect rates to be this low’ is either flat out lying or admitting they literally don’t have the first clue of how either math or coding works.
Not saying you’re wrong but it’s crossed my mind more than once that their drop equations are more than RNG. Could be a multivariate function taking into account things as simple as magic find or as diverse as individual performance, chat during encounters, hours played etc.
If that’s the case, then it falls under the option of ‘flat out lying’, since it’s been stated repeatedly and loudly that stuff like magic find or amount of time played has no bearing on box drops unless otherwise explicitly stated (PvP reward track chests).
Bankers and politicians have a few things in common when it comes to telling the truth. And as long as this type of “politicking” goes on from Anet’s banker, the company will never regain my trust.

Pretty much agree with the OP. I think that if they ran upright and didn’t have such weird hyena necks that more people would like them.
I doubt those minor changes would make the people that love them already love them less.

Ping in GW right now: 2484 (avr. 1200+)
Ping in WoT: 280 – 300
TeamSpeak ping: 160 – 180
I am getting the nagging suspicion anet did not anticipate the influx correctly.
I have been experiencing extreme lag as well. The game is currently unplayable for me.
Game has been completely unplayable for the last 2 days now:(
Lag is so extreme I can’t even log into open world areas, and LA is simply unthinkable right now. I dare not set foot into any dungeon or fractal.
And its not my connection. World of Tanks is running just fine.

Guys, the stab change was made specifically around the new champs and event bosses with HoT. That’s it. It’s in an old post, which I just don’t want to try to find. It wasn’t balanced around pvp or any existing pve content. They totally screwed up the entire game because of HoT. No one in WvW likes this. It has totally lagged the game even more due to the higher amount of calculations necessary and communications back and forth. No one in WvW likes the change. It was never an issue in existing PvE.
They didn’t want groups fighting the new champs and event bosses to have perma stability. That is the sole reason why they did this.
So, make changes for things that is not even in the game and break the rest of the game for the 5 years it takes to make the new content.

The part where that is a far less practical enterprise than simply viewing it as two very different game modes.
You are suggesting changing every mob in the PvE environment to “reflect” in some way or another a PvP build or mechanic. Players are limited to a small number of things they can do, per class. This is not the case in the PvE environment. And for good reason. AI. It is simply not as intuitive as human player. Therefore, the developer must compensate by making the mobs a little different. THis is where they failed. See, when they changed the stability FOR (AND ONLY FOR) PvP, they failed to roll out that change in PvE… as, its is likely a very impractical thing to do…
That is why it HAS to be viewed as 2 entities that may have a lot of similarities, but is 2 parts of a venn diagram.

But since you seem to have only PvP point of view, you really should perhaps be diligent in this thread. Allow me to elaborate and perhaps clarify: It is not that PvP stability is bad, its that its bad everywhere BUT in PvP… Something PvPers don’t seem to care about. And to be fair, why should they, its a totally different game mode. Trouble is, that same courtesy does not go the other way. PvE, is NOT considered when balancing, and this kind of nonsense continues to occur.

I think you are confusing Fun with Frustrating.
Anet does everything around PvP now. Look at the so called Elite specs. All PvP specs… purpose built for PvP… and labeled, “Elite”. Play PvE? You’re not l337 according to Anet.
THAT, is the issue here. An agenda that’s been driven so hard, large portions of the game is simply being left smoldering in its wake.

I just finished the Jormag Defense Guide collection, and only got 8 AP for unlocking the Jormag Defense Guide, as apposed to the 10 listed.
To be fair, not really a big deal but there is a bit of a lesson in principle that is coming from this, and a warning.
Background:
My current assumption is that it happened because I had all the weapons done already, and was only waiting for the super rare Scale. I also did not have the Karma item. So everything except those 2 items.
I finally bought the scale, double clicked, but only got the 3 AP for Tier 2, and not the 2 AP for Tier 1 of the collection as well. I then went to buy the Karma item to complete the collection, hoping it would fix it. I received the 5 AP for Tier 3, but the Tier 1 reward is still outstanding.
Opened a ticket, but was replied to that unfortunately the tools that can help me solve this does not exist.
Oh well…
But anyhow:
TL;DR: If you intend to finish this set and wish to get all the AP for it, get the scale first and make sure you get the rewards step by step. If you don’t, accept the fact that you will not get the full reward for spending your 800+ gold.

Funnily enough, the Herald sounds like it would have been a good alternative to the Dragonhunter name. Not to mention it sounds like it would have made a fitting Guardian elite specialization too.
It also eats away at the argument that you can’t call an elite specialization after something already existing in the game. In this instance, we had the Heralds who are members of the Order of Whispers and are also town NPCs. So names like Seraph, Warden, etc… are now open for consideration thanks to the rev’s elite specialization conflicting with other “heralds”.
And you don’t even need to do that. There are more than enough words in the language to describe something that actually relates to the them:
- Paladin
- Overseer
- Sentinel
- Keeper
- Curator
- Preserver to name but a few
I am starting to suspect that anet is trying to break the guardian elite spec away from the original motive of a “guardian” in the light of this newly revealed Herald spec, placing a higher importance on the new class by devaluing the older.
40 Something pages, and still nothing in regards to this from Anet. It’s… disheartening.
