I can’t bring myself to playing a charr. They were the first enemy I ever knew in GW1.
I don’t play humans, because, well, I am playing human every day when I’m not playing in GW2. I also don’t like the fact that there is NO WAY to side with the rebels! I hate the fact that Kryta is ruled by a Royal Family and still has a “Queen”
I like playing my mesmer (lvl 80), but I HATE porting! It feels like the mesmer has been reduced to porting duties in wvw and that annoys my to no end.

well in all fairness if he’s got spare time then why not read the forums for suggestions he could potentially take to his team give us what we want.
The world is all about ME ME ME ME ME!! Right?

I love my Logitech G600. My partner has a G500 because he can’t handle that many buttons…
Part 1/2 of a dynamic duo
so if you lose all your lives, is it possible to get back in?
If you lose all your lives, when you are taken to the room of death there’s an option to purchase a continue coin for baubles. I don’t remember how many are needed.
50 bubble for a continue coin once you’re in “Hell”. Yes you can get back in even if you don’t have 50 bubbles. You will be ported to Rata Sum, and will be given the option to join your crew in the box as if you are joining mid way through a dungeon. However, if you go about this way, you will be at the beining of the zone and have to run all the way to your party. I have missed the reward for the Toad this way and was able to get zoned to the last stage with the party as I tried to battle back to the final boss.

My partner got one once. Sold it.
I got a celestial once. Sold it too.
We do have a pile of Midnight colours. I like those better
Part 1/2 of a dynamic duo
Don’t forget the fact that all zones reward level appropriate gears. So there isn’t a lost if you go back to the beginning levels.

I used to sell every junk I get from Maw…
I go find a zerg group in WvW now. Makes it a fun way to farm some gold and karma
Part 1/2 of a dynamic duo
>implying you all wouldn’t take 200+ gold from the guild you barely know
It wouldn’t even cross my mind.
I don’t think anyone with any life experience will actually contemplate such a thing: to steal from people whom you barely know and think it’s OK…

And now I am putting Crabman.6839 on my list of people not to invite into any of my guilds.
My thoughts exactly!!
Note to self, DO NOT invite CrabMan.6839 (might just simply block)
Ethics doesn’t mean anything to the OP I guess.

Thanks for this post! I’m glad to know you did not give up even when life throws a curve ball. Thanks for sharing your experience!
Part 1/2 of a dynamic duo
I did this last night! I was trying to find a way to the vista…
I lost the first time, and won the second go. I bet both times 50 silver option. I won a token that’s worth 1g.
The option to wager came after the DE. We finished the event with about 4 cows left.
Launched myself to the vista and I was happy. Token still sits in my inventory.
Part 1/2 of a dynamic duo
I once found a character named “I kick Puppies”. I blocked that player… It was the only name I noticed I didn’t want to look at in chat. I have not seem other names that are “offensive” to me.
Part 1/2 of a dynamic duo
I like the fact the server time remain static. It gave me an extra hour to finish up my dailies.
I would like to see server time remain static.
Part 1/2 of a dynamic duo
The “group” events are usually the last link in a chain of Meta Events, and have a prefix [Group] (or something similar) in their titles. Those counts. I got my daily done with one character doing Maw twice. Draw back was I only got one chest from it.

Maybe the intention is to cull the number of small guilds. Not out right eliminating small guilds but put in HUGE incentives for player to join an additional, larger guild.
This is in a way giving large guilds a bone, a very big bone. Many large guilds are formed by players who have been playing together forever. Not only playing GW1 and 2, but other games as well. It is important from a business point of view to keep these maga guilds happy by giving them a head start of a sort. For the members of a large guild, this must feels like the prestige of belonging to a large guild have paid off.
Somewhere in this thread there a poster suggested that instead of looking at it in a negative way, this could be seen as a way of luring large WvW only guilds back into the Open World, and make the open world busy again.
It would be nice for Anet to comment on some of these, kind of pointless to create a thread for questions and just leave it like this…
Part 1/2 of a dynamic duo
It’s hard to get into some of the more popular events on extremely busy servers. I’m on Eredon Terrence. I haven’t been to the mid level areas recently, that’s true, but, the beginner zones and high level zones are always packed.
Part 1/2 of a dynamic duo
I play an Engineer. I think it’s great! I enjoy myself, have no trouble going anywhere in the open world.
I have always been a ranged player. I just cannot get in to playing a warrior. I don’t care how godly the melee classes are. Melee is just not my thing. So to me, I would just stand back and use the rifle or bow on the warrior anyway… Therefore, my first character in GW2 was a ranger, second was the Engineer. The engie is over 80 with a full set of almost 80 exotics. I’m having a blast with the engineer.
Part 1/2 of a dynamic duo
Oh went did this get in? Can’t say I remember being able to do that last night…
It’s something I hate most about the TP, that I can’t preview what I’m buying. Great that they got it in there now!
Part 1/2 of a dynamic duo
…
A thief in my guild almost every time when encountering an opposing group in wvw will steal-haste-pistol-whip and down 1-2 players and then he goes down himself within 3 seconds. No joke- almost every time. And then he proceeds to shout out directions while he’s throwing stuff on his backside. I’ve talked to him about buffing up his defense a bit, but that’s not the point here. His group of course saves him, he gets revived and credit for kills that in my opinion he didn’t even deserve. There should be a greater penalty for him so he stops such cheap and lazy game play. This kind of mindset only encourages zerging even more, which is currently one of the biggest problems of this game, whether people like it or not. This tactic also makes PVE easier, as was already mentioned.
Down state in its current form is simply lame and if you like it as it is, well, too all his own, but in my opinion you should probably really learn how to be a better player so you don’t have to rely on it in the first place.
What is a “Better player” anyway?
In the example you gave, what happens if “his team” doesn’t revive him anymore when he goes down? Will he learn then? Will the team not learn? It’s not the downed state that’s making bad players, it’s bad players that encourages (begets) worst player.
The downed state might need a bit tweaking in PvP, but leave it the way it is for the rest of us.

Bragging points?
Part 1/2 of a dynamic duo
Some events on the server I’m on, Eradon Terrence has been bugged since a week or so ago (ones I’m aware of are The Frozen Maw, and some events in Orr). I can’t remember the exact day and time when it glitched. I have been guesting on other servers over the weekend and have not get disconnected for no reason. I was in Cursed Shores mostly as well. The servers I guested on were Northern Shiverpeaks, and Tarnish Coast.
I’ve noticed some popular events like the Maw glitches out when getting closer to a patch release…
Part 1/2 of a dynamic duo
I like the look of some of the precursor better than their legendary version. If I get one that I really liked, I’m not sure if I can actually make a decision one way or another…
Part 1/2 of a dynamic duo
That moment when I found “Old Ascalon” under water, and the Temple of Ages lies in ruins… I stopped and pondered for a while…
Part 1/2 of a dynamic duo
The skrit burglars turn you into the (rabbit with antler thing) if you spawn him from a chest. That’s an event and the burglar drop small loot bags along the way as well as a bigger bag of loot at the end if you manage to kill it.
The OP speaks of a different occurrence I believe (correct me if I’m wrong). I’m curious to find them rats now.
Part 1/2 of a dynamic duo
Engineer for me. Other opinion may differ.
Part 1/2 of a dynamic duo
yea, if only they gave some kind of warning before they locked us in servers…oh wait.
Yeah, maybe they should have had those big yellow messages flash across our screen for an entire month, or better yet, they should have totally put up a giant message window that will not go away until the user tick off a box saying I have read and understand the implication of not changing my server now…
I bet even then there will be people like the OP that somehow just MISSED the whole thing… go figure
Part 1/2 of a dynamic duo
To OP,
Your original post may not intended to be a complaint, but like many have said, your option as of today is that you need to pay to transfer or you can guest until you have the funds to do the transfer.
From what I can read here to this point, this post sounds a lot like a whine.
Part 1/2 of a dynamic duo
In lower level zones, you might kill and clear things faster than higher level zones due to the fact that you have more traits and skills to play with.
The character gets down leveled to the level of the zone you’re in. So it doesn’t matter if you’re in a low level zone, you’re effective level will always be adjusted. The loot and exp that you get is leveled to YOU even in lower level zones.
I find a certain satisfaction with doing lower level zones with my high level characters when I can draw a large number of mobs and kill them all by myself… nice way to un-wind from a busy day.
In my opinion, it doesn’t really matter what level zone you are in as long as you are having a good time. Lower level zones tends to be easier, and busier.
My two cents
Part 1/2 of a dynamic duo
I would love to see something similar to the Winters Day snow ball fight areas and the Halloween cauldrons for costume brawl. I think if we can have portable boxing rings (maybe it could be a guild upgrade thing) that we can put out anywhere in the open world. Those who interacts with it will be able to skirmish with each other. I think this could be very cool!
Part 1/2 of a dynamic duo
I would LOVE a Dark Souls combat MMO. It would be so awsome so when your hit by a giant you feel like ‘oh shoot I’ve been hit by a giant’.
I agree!! I love Dark Soul’s combat system.
Part 1/2 of a dynamic duo
You need to switch zones for the mail to show up. At least it was like that last night.
Part 1/2 of a dynamic duo
I have seen what you described. I had a guild invite and was looking at their guild’s information. When I switched to the “Upgrades” tab thinking I can see what they have in terms of upgrades and guild buffs, I saw none there. I closed the guild interface and opened it again and I only saw around 200 influence and none of my previous upgrades. It freaked me out for a bit. However, I did log off and back on and everything was all there again. I chucked it up to a glitch… everything guild wise has been working fine since.

Keep expecting my wardrobe can change colours at a moment’s notice…
Part 1/2 of a dynamic duo
Some dynamic events that were stuck for a few days now have been “un-freezed”. I’m happy about it!
Part 1/2 of a dynamic duo
I just checked, no full server at the moment. That’s what they mean!
Part 1/2 of a dynamic duo
It’s been bugged on Eardon Terrace as well. Been a couple of days.
Part 1/2 of a dynamic duo
I’m on Erdon Terrace, very busy even with the Maw bugged!
Part 1/2 of a dynamic duo
On average I get about 1 a day. So there are some days without any, and there are days with lots. The guild bank is filling up with dyes…
Part 1/2 of a dynamic duo
We moved to a different server.. problem solved.
Clan master was peeved beacuse it canceled all our guild points but what can you do… oh well.
I was going to warn you about influence not transferable between servers. Look at it this way, with a dozen or so active players, the influence comes back as soon as you guys starts to do things together.
I hope once guesting is here, you can just simply “guest” to JQ and get all that was there… Influence stays on the server that’s earned.

Here is my partner and I, having lots of fun exploring. We bring each other rabbits some times.
Part 1/2 of a dynamic duo
I’m also on ET. Looks to me there’s always a bunch of us running around. Shout outs to the map chats always get responses. Where do you go most of the time?
LA looks packed most of the time. Almost every where I go I see a few people. It’s not going to be packed like TC or JQ, but it’s far from empty. Also I like the people on there and I’m having a blast so far.

Many users have great tips for the OP.
It may also help with chat to know the short hand for each channel.

Aside from the selfish aspect of my post, an official roleplaying server would still be nice.
Agreed.
All for Tarnished Coast as the Official Roleplaying Server?
YES!
Part 1/2 of a dynamic duo
The argument can also be made on the other side. Those who don’t want to have anything to do with RPers can transfer off of TC so that more RPers can get on to TC. This would make things easier too.
Part 1/2 of a dynamic duo
However, if you are a necromancer at heart, then roll a necro! You’re going to learn this game one way or another, why not start with something you really like. The learning curve will be there regardless of which class you pick.
And on the bright side, once you hit lvl 80 they might’ve gotten their act together and fixed stuff like Condition caps, eh?
The necro is still fun IMHO. It looks like every class has a little bit of issue here and there anyway. My favourite is still the Mesmer and the Engineer.
Part 1/2 of a dynamic duo
I find any melee class hard to master if you need to learn game mechanic at the same time. I always find it easier if there’s a distraction for the enemies, and I find it easier to start with a Ranger for that reason. I get a good look at some of the battle fields while my pet can stand up to most of the lower level mobs. I can go melee with a ranger as well, and get a taste of what that’s like. In my opinion, it takes a whole lot of skills to be an effective warrior, and to me, it is a veteran class.
However, if you are a necromancer at heart, then roll a necro! You’re going to learn this game one way or another, why not start with something you really like. The learning curve will be there regardless of which class you pick.

Moving backwards also slows you down, I find it hard to avoid being hit by relying on the backwards movement alone. I like to use get-out-of-the-way skills in addition to dogging.
If you decided to go into Duelling with the Mesmer, at 10 trait points you can unlock the trait that drops a clone every time you doge, so dogging have another purpose. I don’t like to walk backwards in a straight line either, so I step side to side while I move back at the same time…
Part 1/2 of a dynamic duo
I think the ele that’s running around kitting the boss with half a tank of hp and never goes down is just as good a “tank” as the warrior who stands in front of the boss in a “traditional tanking position”…
It’s the purpose of the roles that counts. A tank usually has the purpose of distracting the enemies and boss, taking most of the damage so the rest of the team can kill them. As long as the purpose is full filled, what matter does it make if it’s a warrior or a squishy caster?
On the other hand, what’s a tank and a dedicated healer good for if the mob can’t do much damage? If a boss is rendered immobile, confused, blinded etc, and most of the team has some kind of damage neglecting protection on the whole time, does it matter if the entire team focus on DPS to kill the mob as fast as possible?
For example:
When there’s 3 people randomly gathered at an event, un-grouped, and do not know each other. I can count on all three of us being able to kite, deal damage, and stay alive. That means instead of having ONE of each: healer/tank/damage, this random group is 3x healer/tank/damage. Each one of us can take up all these roles during different times and rotate as needed. The team is flexible and no one person need to get stuck doing the same thing the entire time.
Best thing is that this system doesn’t require us to stand around for a specific class to come around to complete the trinity. Take any player and make up any trinity at any time.
I would say that the Trinity has evolved… my two cents…
Part 1/2 of a dynamic duo
I think the best part of GW2 is the large amount of ad-hoc cooperation between players. It’s something I’ve never before seen in an MMO setting. In most MMOs, you largely stay by yourself unless you’re forming a group to accomplish something. Random folk are often seen as nuisances to someone doing quests. People basically never randomly start working together without any coordination or without using the group mechanic.
That’s completely different in GW2 because it’s there’s no reason not to. You might not talk to anyone, but you’re actually interacting with other people far more than almost any other MMO.
I agree with all of this you said.
I like how I can shower someone in a healing rain, or send over a meteor shower for the baddies, if I see people in a bit of trouble and don’t have time to stop and finish the fight. I like the fact that I don’t need to group up just to help for three minutes.
I remember in GW 1, I was in a great guild with lots of active players. Even then, it took a huge amount of time to get a group together and head out (to anything). I like how I can get to a place and wait while doing something useful for myself, and not just standing in a town idling.
I am always in a group with my partner when we play, and I like the feeling of the two of us adventuring together. Therefore, I (we) don’t accept people into our group. We do help when someone calls in map chat though. We’d be jumping into the fight if the proper way point is linked.
I like the fact that there are so many things that’s optional in this game.
