Firebrand feels indredibly clunky

And crying begins…i told you that firebrand is bad design, and ppl were defending it. Yes its fun fresh but when ppl start to farm you in pvp and wvw fun goes away pretty quick. Prepare for some nerfs too, cause thats guardian destiny, always in a good spot

The difference is: QQing after actually playtesting the elite for a bit is legit and fine. Calling doom and drama based on previews, on the other hand, is laughable at best. Obviously, issues should be solved to whatever is deemed as acceptable.
But yes, from the short bit I whacked on the Golem (as I don’t give kitten about PvP), it feels slow-ish. The Axe’s 2-4 skills feel as slow as the Mace, and of course the auto attack could be faster/smoother. The charge-up time from the Mantra/2-4 skills feels also too long, but I guess that’s a general issue with the new ammo system.

“Support? A barrier that degenerates fast is equal to a low ticking regen boon.”

No, it’s vastly superior to an extent that having to actually explain it to you is baffling.

You use it when you predict incoming damage. If you have any amount of skill, this means that it is VASTLY better than regen ever could be, because it will always have its utmost impact, and massively increase EHP.

No, because of condi damage. Rofl, its so funny how so completely wrong you are. I’ll sit back and laugh while you predict how much condi damage you take before you die since your barriers are gone.

The Mounts are Useless

I’ve contemplated this dilemma (deeply) and I have a solution: separate map instances for pro/anti-mounters, dictated by a flag in the Options panel.

Those that wants mounts can tick the flag and get put in maps where they can see/ride mounts.

Those that leave it unticked get put into maps where the entire map is a non-mount zone.

I know, I know. It’s brilliant in it’s simplicity.

LOL. Are we back in time of the German Wall during DDR times, or when Blacks were only allowed to sit on designated seats on the bus? But sure, let’s divide the playerbase further; it’s not that this was NEVER a concern before.

my 2 cents – same re-hashed crap with different names, I mean really? put out fires with water buckets? hello queensdale first heart… stupid pointless mounts… been playing since 2004, I’m done, game will never be as fun as gw1 was. Maybe when it goes down to $10 I’ll buy it.

So you played the game for 13 years and never got “fully” entertained by it? Sorry, but that’s entirely your own fault for clinging to the past and your impulse to compare everything to GW1. GW2 was never GW1 with better graphics.

“-The story is awful. Please consider some courses or workshops in creative writing and literary history. You have creativity, wonderful ideas, but no skill in communicating them in a fulfilling and engaging experience for the recipient.”

Yes, not everything’s pefect with GW2’s story. But if you are so smart as you think, why don’t you step up your game and apply at A.Net as a story or lore writer. Afterall, there’s no doubt YOU know how to do it better and who I am to not belive you!

This is barely a problem, since it can turn pretty tightly, and it gives more of a ‘carving’ kind of feel to it, like you’re actually riding a creature that’s faster than you.

You could also just dismount whenever you need to turn sharply and mount up again, since it’s instant to dismount and mount, just a 1 second CD.

And thats just the first impression I have from the addon. If the rest is more related to wow and other generic trash, then good night.

People need to stop with these stupid comments or stuff like “no one at A.Net plays Necromancer” in their puddle of self-pity. You can apply and read these comments to EVERY profession, in each sub-forum when stuff got nerfed.

That being said: I agree with the general disappointment nontheless. Whenever I used Soul Reaping, Vital Persistence was a nobrainer to pick.

@spectral mastery: I assume they nerfed the 50% duration increase because they increased the duration of the skills themselves.

What is “fresh” in using some dudes or boring gods that only GW1 players would know or care (more) about? Why doesn’t that count as rehashing content or pandering?

I don’t mind other threats to Tyria, mind you, but the terribly uninteresting reveal of Failthazaar and Livia, which left me with nothing but a simple “Who?” reaction, didn’t really do much for me. Maybe that will change with PoF, though. It doesn’t help either that some insights to the hijinxs are put behind kitten raids.

As it is right now, Guardian’s have the same complaints, Thiefs about Deadeye’s in sPVP and Warrior while being mostly hyped PvP-wise, possibly about Spellcaster’s place in PvE (unless boon removal becomes [more] important in pve)

So, no, I will be saving my money because it looks like I will need it elsewhere soon.

Ok, bring on the “go play another game” because my opinion doesn’t count, only yours does.

I don’t know why you sound so kittenhurt, but – surprise, surprise – “go play another game” is a valid option, and while it may sound like fanboy trolling (depends on how it’s worded), there’s really NOTHING wrong with it from a neutral point of view. Especially after you leave a nonwhiny feedback, unless you want to be pitied? Dunno. “It looks like I need my money elsewhere soon” Why this comically dramatic flair to this sentence? Your money, your decision.

If the x-pack offers on your checklist more potential negative aspects than positive, I wouldn’t buy (or play) it either. Moving on is better than clinging vehemently to the past. And GW2 has no monthly fee, so jumping back in or quitting brings no real drawback with it. It’s similar to people in MMOs reacting like it’s travesty and unheard of if you quit an MMO after you “finished” it according to one owns terms. And that’s really ridiculous.

Soulbeast screamed basically “depends on how it works” as my first impression. As a solo PvE gamer I don’t care much about min/max potential or can’t talk about balancing issues and that stuff (but can understand its importance, of course), but care more about how the spec “feels” in the sense of flair. Like, my main reason for choosing Druid spec is Natural Stride and for some reason Condi Druid clicked with me more than Condi Ranger; maybe because it had been the first one I played. I’ll try to be cautiously optimistic as new specs to play around with is for my rare gaming style one the bigger joys.

I care about 2 things.
2. Nerfs to condis. Condis in this game are ZERO risk and high reward because you only need one stat to put as much, if not more, DPS than any power build. And if anything condis are going to become even stronger than before.
With condis staying as they are, or even getting stronger, this is more a reason to simply stop playing altogether.

Mounts should be totally optional, like Borderlands 2 mounts: they are needed to get certain achievements, they grant much faster traveling from A to B on certain maps/surfaces – but they are not necessary at all. One also can walk every path. It’s harder and takes much longer but it is possible. That’s the way mounts should be implemented. ANet, add some stairs, stones and bridges too, for the real explorers amongst us. Thank you.

Being an explorer is not bound to walk only on foot. Columbus travelled on a ship instead of swimming through the ocean, yet he still counts as a “real” explorer.

The good:
- New elite specs. I can understand the mixed feeling for this, but I as a solo player am looking a bit forward to it.
- More story to potentially make me care about Trollthazar
- New maps
- Standalone expansion

The meh and whatever:
- Mounts: While it sounds neat that each mount has its own ability, being tied to the VERY tedious mastery grind makes the whole deal for me a “wait and see” thing.
- Stuff about Palawa Whatever. Never heard of him/her, but from what I’ve read its a GW1 treat.

The bad:
- More mastery grind <blargh>

Elite Specs: Disclaimer: I didn’t check any sort of leaks whatsoever, mind you.
It sounds like Necro’s will be more support-ish based on the very short description on reddit (opening spoiler section: https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/6qwz69/expansion_2_announcement_livestream_coverage/). Guardian sounds nice enough, and Ranger looks strongly to be a “it depends on how it works” deal. Rifle Thief might be neat. Warrior sounds more PvP relevant, but that’s not my playground. Hopefully, it won’t be the Scrapper of PoF.

From the PoV of a female Sylvari: I loved her “Wait WHAT!?” reaction to several conversation topics. And the overdrawn dialogue before the Trial started, which sounded like a drama act, felt like it was comically intended that way. The fight against your inner shadow was imho a nice enough idea with the spirits badmouthing you lol.

I liked that the map was from its size well enough so that you don’t need the additional waypoint shrines (even though they would’ve been handy), and that the overworld mobs weren’t as stupidly annoying as the ones on the Episode 3 map (the area for which you need the elixir, to be precise), except the big magma thingies.
Just played the map for the story, so there’s nothing more positive to add.

- The “boss” fights in the last dungeon were a chaotic mess, main offender the Fire Elemental and the last phase with the big bad. It’s like playing a bullet hell game, just that I had no idea what I was supposed to sometimes.
- Otherwise, I didn’t have much of a problem with the episode. The x-pack reveal advertising at the end, however, was totally out of place IMHO.

Balancing around PvE is stupid you just give the players damage and survivability and they are happy. They really should be focused around things that actually need balanced

No. First off, it’s not for you to decide what’s important to focus on or not. Even though, it may seem currently so that Raid balance dictates the other game modes balance-wise, it would not be better to shift the focus to PvP changes which may or may not ruin the fun of PvE (and WvW) as a result of every ADHS player crying about being one-shot by OP profession x. Just because “everything works in PvE (outside of raids)” must not mean that this game mode should suffer from PvP changes (and vice versa!)
That’s why there are skill splits between PvE and PvP, and ideally – clearly, I have no idea how much of a programming hassle that would be in addition to the current skill splitting – condi nerfs should be applied to only the section that “requires” it.
The only victim is WvW as it’s a mishmash of two game modes, where it seems that the build options are both a curse and a blessing balance-wise.

Mahou.3924

Excellent point! This is one of those things where there really is no way to please everyone.

Like I stated many times in my previous posts: It can’t be that hard (as in, yes, it is feasible) to slightly differ the dialogue for every race to fit their racial demeanor and tone (so that, for instance, a Charr character wouldn’t come across as a teddy bear). It is not that hard to set flags in programming that say, “If character Charr, then select response #3.” They can speak the same in content, but phrase it according to their race. Not that difficult, really.

These small-ish changes shouldn’t indeed be that hard to implement in my nooby opinion. I remember the small misgiving of players during the main-HoT story, where the Asura PC acted technically unsavy during the Auric Basin part of the story, for example, yet on the other hand HoT was obviously Sylvari focused with the different story instances where the Sylvari PC responded (slightly) differently or was here and there influenced by Fatty Dragon.

So yes, it would be a great idea to have racial responses with a different flair. Even better would be if the tone was based on the long-forgotten Charisma and the other two traits. With that it wouldn’t be too far-fetched for a Charr to sound more diplomatic, for example, without it being the standard attitude. At least he wouldn’t stammer around (and I keep nagging about that detail as a socially introverted computer addict) as with the Braham disaster in EP3 and similar cases, especially as the outcome will be the same.

Actually if I could get rid of anyone it’d be Taimi — because I agree with BlooDyliCious that she has (almost) completely usurped the story and the protagonist role. Need anything? Taimi has the knowledge. Taimi has the toys. Taimi has the resouces. Taimi has the contacts. Taimi has everything. And yet at the same time she’s also an oh-so-oppressed victim of her evil, evil elders who don’t have the merest fraction of her incomparable genius. Yeah.

I’m really sick of it, and it doesn’t help that I can’t stand her personality either.

For all its flaws and clunkiness, at least the vanilla storyline tried to show many different people coming together to work on one goal, approaching it from multiple angles, gathering information from multiple sources, and we had an active hand in it all. As I said before, I miss the Pact (and the racial storyline of the first PS chapter even moreso) and would take it and its characters over the current batch any day.

YAY, another hidden “ME CHARACTER IZ NO SPECIAL SNOWFLAKE!!!” post.

and it’s kinda immersion breaking to have every player character as Commander/Guild Leader/Dragon Slaying Demigod Savior.

That’s a problem with all MMOs that try to make the PC into a “special snowflake.” A prime offender for example is Blade and Souls: Your character is the last survivor of the Hong Moon school, yet as soon as out of the personal instances, you see – of course – hundreds of other “sole survivors” running around. But on the other hand people will complain like madmen when they are NOT special snowflakes; see all the pre-HoT hateposts and QQs about Treaharne “stealing” your accomplishments and Caladbolg from you.

I Need Some Advice

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

As a solo player, I go mostly for the Living Story for at least a few characters. I did my “share” of map-meta events in the first two HoT maps for mastery xp and moved after that through the story, which I cleared on – I think – five characters. I only bothered with DS once and never followed TD remotely to the end. Main reasons for doing some of the easier achievements were only to get the Mastery Points.

Not all of the character cleared, however, every LS episode. Sometimes I repeated Episode 2 on other characters to hear which race and gender sounds well during Dragon Vigil I also barely bother with the achievements, unless they pique my interest. Otherwise, I switch between characters or play something else (for which I don’t “blame” GW2, mind you!).

As for Braham: He’s obviously too volatile so far. His reaction in Episode 3 was disuscussed/raged at ad nauseum, so I won’t go further. But if he’s in Dragon Watch in the future, something needs to happen. Jormag-related or the Commander smacking some sense into him in a “formal” duel or so. Both of them talked past each other in regards to the Commanders idea of showing respect to Eir with Dragon Watch and Braham’s idea with keeping the name of Destiny Edge.

Braham is part of the reason I want to keep Rytlock around. He and Caithe are actual members of Destiny’s Edge, and they have every right to smack him down for trying to steal the name. I don’t think Caithe would, but Rytlock? In a heartbeat.

That sounds quite neat if it occured. Or make it choice-based decision.
1) “Thanks Rythlock, but I’ll handle this. Maybe I tried to be too considerate”
2 “Go ahead Rythlock, Destiny’s Edge meant a lot to you as well”
Even better, let both of them during the battle response that Eir was important to the them as well, but that the PC also lost Traeharne (and had to end his life with their very own hands).

I agree with the general idea of the topic as the whole concept of pitting the Player Character (and Taimi) temporary against the “rest of the world” is something I’ve seen and am also expecting.
I would also count Caithe at least indirectly to Dragon Watch. She hasn’t been invited yet, unless my bad memory is wrong, but she’s earned enough trust back to watch over Aurene while we do other things.
As a great Taimi fan, I love it that she’s been a permantent stable member of the ragtag guild.
As for Braham: He’s obviously too volatile so far. His reaction in Episode 3 was disuscussed/raged at ad nauseum, so I won’t go further. The problem with GW2's writing...

in Lore

Posted by: Mahou.3924

Mahou.3924

Racial: I would have liked different reactions or comments for different situations as well, but I guess that would be too much work (within their release schedule). SWTOR’s individual storyline was also scrapped with the expansion and narrowed down to one overall narrative, even though it happend in GW2 with Zaithan already. Not saying it as an excuse for everything.

Voice Acting + Dialogues: I’ve mentioned it a couple of times but the Commander’s dialouges around the DW’s team has become more and more awkward. He/she stammers around (all the aehm, uhm etc) and the overly-careful choice of words makes it rather awkward. Not saying he/she should become some cold-blooded military drone.
I’m fine with the Voice Acting itself overall, though. I like the male Sylvari voice as it sounds quite sophisticated (British English?), whereas the female Sylvari sounds as if she’s permanetly stressed out and somehow on the edge.

Story + Characters: I don’t have really high expectations as long as I’m entertained. With the current Episode, I wasn’t THAT happy but cannot really explain it reasonably. The reveal left me completely indifferent (as someone who doesn’t participate in speculations, meta-analysing stuff and plays and and “rates” it as it is written. So on a shallow surface level more or less).

I certainly didn’t share the general complaint about Trahearne, even though non-Sylvari Commanders becoming instant friends with him was indeed rather out of nowhere in retrospec.
I was also rather okay with DE2 in HoT pre-LS3. I’m positively biased in favor of Taimi and Caithe, so I won’t comment further on it. But as much as some people may loathe Taimi, I thought it was greath that she’s been one of the stable DW members so far, instead of some old “Commander vs. the rest of the world” situation, you may or may not know from other stories, until everyone else has sorted out their individual problems. But to be fair, I’m anything but a drama fan. Drama has its place in general, but can also easily be done wrong and thus becomes annoying. Rox NEEDS more exposition as many other players have requested in the past.

So a bit warning now there may be some spoilers for people who have not reach certain point in the storyline if you cross this line into…..

The Spoiler Zone!
——————————————————————————————————————————-

As the story progress I cannot help but feel the Zhaitan Arc/Season 1/Season 2 characters that have been with the Commander are slowly splitting into a path where they become “once in a while characters” or just no long part of the storyline.

Logan is now leader of the Pact but as we learned the new Pact Leader will no longer be on the frontlines and only commanding from the distance in a Office located in Lion’s Arch.

Eir is now dead.

Zojja is probably crippled for life.

Canach has left to travel on his own to find his own path now he has his freedom and will appear again one day when his path cross with the Commander’s.

Marjory is now critically injured and the injury may become fatal.

Braham is blinded by his anger over his mother’s death and I can’t help but feel he may die sacrificing himself to save the Commander after his failed attempt to kill Jormag even when we told him not to and what will happen if anymore Elder Dragon’s are killed. Thus having Braham’s final moments a brief but heroic one where he first apologize because he did not listen behind a blockade he created to help slow down Jormag’s minions from reaching the commander and the survivors of his failed attempt to kill jormag then turns to face Jormag’s minions dying to fight off jormag’s minions so the survivors could escape with the Commander as his atonement for his own actions while also instead of dying as a child with anger issues die as a True Norn in battle fighting a greater enemy. Ya people got their wish he dies but he dies as a True Norn and not as a person blinded by anger he is now.

Lady Kasmeer, Taimi, and Rytlock are most likely staying considering their events with Kasmeer having little involvement that could not support any foreshadowing to anything bad, Taimi is just Taimi, and Rytlock is just getting “things” done at the Black Citadel then plans to return right after.

As for Caithe…. well we never really know what goes on in her head.

I’m not really a character death fan, but I agree with your sentiment about Braham. Well, people would still complain about him (not saying complaints about Braham are unfounded!), but him going out with a bang and a too-late realisation could provide for a satisfying conlcusion within your scenario.

As the situation is right now, the only stable factor in the Commander’s ragtag group is Taimi, disregarding how many people are getting ticked off by her, Caithe with her regaining her trust slowly, and partly Rythlock once he has finally settled stuff at the Black Citadel (or after we helped him doing what he needs to do).
Even though Rox joined Dragon Watch (I think?), as long as Braham and her are teamed-up she’s obviously not available. Jory injured so unavailble again, and poor Kasmeer in shock². At least double dragon chaos has been put on hold for the time being, so only Lolthazar and whatever awaits in Xpack 2.

As for Caithe: Just redeem her already, A-Net. My Sylvari would have forgiven her already. She saved his/her behind during Hearts and Minds, helped in Bloodstone Fens and pledged her life for Aurene. But as much as I’d like to see different reactions and small variances between the races, it would probably be too much work.
SWTOR mashed the class stories (not really equivalent/comparable to the different races in GW2, though) together with KOFTE and KOTET, even though that was kittenP of SWTOR back then.

I didn’t do any map events and just went for the story the first time, so this will be short:
- Compared to other HoT maps, map movement felt somehow quite slow, despite 33% movement speed
- the story felt much shorter but Taimi was great as always. I’m sorry but the Lazarus reveal left no real impact for me.
- The final story instance was okay but the required flight phase with the constant updraft felt really slow and tedious with landing > back in the air to pick the anomaly up > rinse & repeat.
- The boss fight was okay. The burning was at times harsh but landing on the device as a (intended?) safe zone helped here.
- The PCs dialogues are getting a bit awkward when he/she’s talking with the “team”. All the stuttering and too careful choice of wording are rather contra-productive to get the message across.
- I agree with ArchonWing: It was rather funny to get the achievement for dieing in the sulfured water

“…the story was ridiculously easy, it doesnt feel like fighting gods or dragons”
Well… you weren’t fightingh gods and dragons! But yes, it was – for me – easier than previous LS’. I actually died once in a burning stack due to being a bit too careless.

As for the LS itself: I don’t know but maybe it was due to my tiredness but it felt slow. Moving around, and the LS story went on rather too fast or my mind was playing tricks on me. I didn’t have enough mastery points around for the new one as I have never actively farmed them, once I was done with the ones I deemed as “important.” But before I’m misunderstood, I need to replay it at another time. I get the ugly feeling that this was “just” another chapter to create drama for the sake of drama (which I hate). First the internal drama about Dragon Watch, then DDD (Double Dragon Disaster), and now probably the normal “population” in uproar/anxiety about the PC due to the current mess-up. Again, not saying that my gut-feeling is any accurate or so and a case where I’d love to be wrong.

Honestly, I felt barely anything about the reveal. Maybe it would have had more impact if I had played GW1 or read more about its lore. Well, at least Kasmeer has her hickups back, which some people have missed ^^
But for some reason, something I cannot put my finger around also felt lackluster or lame about LS5, or it was because I’m tired <lol>. And I’m a gamer who’s rather easy to satisfy story-wise.

Anet wrote her death as though she wasn’t an experienced warrior.

You are entirely wrong and I’ll go with each and every sentence to prove you wrong.

Broken and bruised? I imagine that is the natural state of every Norn.

It’s not the natural state of every norn to have been imprisoned for a long period of time and to have suffered under such conditions, especially being the prisoner of an elder dragon.

Betrayed? How does that affect how she dies?

An otherwise glorious death can be tainted by the act of a betrayal, removing the value of that death due to the cowardly nature that is betrayal. A glorious death is a fair fight and betrayal absolutely, in every case, makes it no longer a fair fight.

If betrayal makes you simply give up and let yourself be killed, you aren’t much of a warrior. But maybe in bad writing that’s how it is. Not like Eir shouldn’t have had a clue that Faolain might betray her lol.

Weaponless? So if you don’t have a weapon you just give up and die? Even Faolain was better and AFAIK she wasn’t a warrior. She grabbed a thorn to use as an improvised weapon! Anet wrote Eir just standing there and nodding.

No, because you see, Eir was fleeing for her life after having already been imprisoned by an elder dragon.

So was Faolain…

Now, you are just trolling in a spiteful way in regards to Eir’s character, or you have some distorted imagination on what’s a “warrior” or not. Probably because you think Rambo, G.I. Joe or other “macho” fighters are how to portray them correctly, and you consider as a result Eir and Taimi as a “blasphemy” to these standards.

It really feels to me like they’re trying to isolate the PC in the story, perhaps to build up for something. If I had to guess, I’d say that something was related to Aurene and her growing into an Elder Dragon (we’ve already exhibited some signs that imply corruption – Aurene granting us magic in Prized Possessions, the PC immediately knowing Aurene’s name, and the PC’s comment of “I’m at Aurene’s disposal.” during Precocious Aurene seem to me like subtle beginnings of corruption, like early stages of Reaper indoctrination).

Yeah, that’s my impression as well. Reminds me of some cliché drama setup I’ve read in other stories but that’s just my low-ish drama tolerance, so don’t mind me rambling. Anyway, I think Caithe’s on her way to earn the PCs trust again as the end of “Dragon Vigil” implied. Due to how this setup has been built so far, I had actually hoped that Lazarus won’t turn out as another evil guy, and I would absolutely loathe it if/when Aurene becomes corrupted (maybe that’s just my goody-goody preferance here lol). With the next x-pack, we’ll have hopefully Kasmeer and Jory back, Canach on a “freelancer” basis. Depending on how much the last LS episode covers, maybe we’ll get insight in Rythlocks situation. That leaves us with Braham and Rox which requires Braham not to die in his reckless zerg rush and that he gets temporary his attitude back in control.

Because of no story mode ? This doesn’t change the fact that when story mode is introduced, people will just play the story mode and never look back because they no have interest in doing content that is perceived as difficult. And when this happens, then it means that Anet has to cater to another subset of players who will then complain that story mode is not enough rewarding.

Why would you even care about it? Players who care only about the story and visit a raid afterwards never again are in most cases NOT the target group a serious/“dedicated” raid group want to have in their core team. And if they visit the raid in a (paid) squad, there’s no guarantee that the experience might convice them to commit to raiding in a serious manner; (the only group with a “drawback” would be those who sell raids). Of course, I freely admit that the latter case may ALSO be a reason for some people to actively join a (raid) guild if the experience was outstandingly good or left a welcoming impression, butprobably not under the sole premisse of wanting to experience the story.

I think the voice at the end sounded like Jennah, she certainly is powerful enough to unmask Laz

People on reddit said it’s the Jennifer Hale who voiced both Jennah and female Syvari PC, so it can be either of them, especially if ANet uses every PC voice among their trailers.

“First of all, why do you think you or I are qualified to fix design issues? Are you a game designer?”

Really? Are you that narrow-minded and/or bitter that you need to post this lame reply in a thread that’s about “No limits, go wild with any crazy ideas.
So, just for fun, how would you redesign the elementalist?”

For DH, you don’t have to pick between scepter and LB; just use them both. scepter+focus + longbow.

http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/?vVAQNAT7dn8cCFdilCBWdCEEhF9hSO9X/6vKASyxN7C7wQE-w

(equipment is w/e; I didn’t bother including it,) I use this for pretty much all open world/story content though I use Greatsword in place of either set if I want to race past a map. I usually don’t do dungeons/raids/fractals and don’t really care about dps races.

If it doesn’t work:
Take “indomitable courage” trait in virtues
Take Shelter over the heal trap.
In the last fight specifically, you can take “Bane Signet” or “Signet of Judgement” over test of faith.

As always, I recommend this cheap and effective food: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Scoop_of_Mintberry_Swirl_Ice_Cream

Haven’t really tried it on ranger, but I can’t imagine it being too bad; I can always go for a run though,

And I will admit: Some parts are looongggg which is pain for those on bad connection.

Thanks for the advice. It had helped when I beat Cadeceus yesterday.
Ironically (or not?), I died more on the way to the boss and during the first fight with him than in the last battle (where I was “only” downed a few times). I’m not really surprised, though, as the Jade Armor + Bow are a MAJOR pita. Strangely, I don’t remember them being that difficult on the Ring of Fire island, or I mistook it during the time on my Reaper on Ring of Fire island.

Another thing that probably throws people off is how big mastery progression plays into it. Playing VB with full gliding is a lot easier and more fun than with just basic (or no) gliding like when you first get there. By the time you have the masteries unlocked if you have moved on because the maps were too hard, go back and try again. The early impression may now be wrong.

I agree. Having not to worry about your endurance bar while gliding has been a HUGE QoL aspect, even though I did not enjoy the grind to fill the mastery experience bar and am really glad it’s account-bound. It would have been neat if the mastey learning aspect was – at least a bit – tied into doing tasks related to it. This might have not worked for every mastery skill and/or the tier-based structure but with stuff like mushroom bouncing, or maybe the chak acid thingy. But that’s just personal preferance on my part.

Lol Frost Gun disabled.

For Cadaceus: Completed with Power Ranger with throw-away gear, GS + LB. 1 or 2 deaths, many downed states. Overall impression: The NPCs felt more useful than I, except for breaking the breakbar.
Next victim: Power Dragon Hunter, Sword/Focus + Longbow (I know that Scepter would be better but LB “feels” nicer). I should probably be not so lazy this time and invest in some decent cost-efficient runes because I swap very often between characters. But I don’t feel “confident” in playing my DH

As for Modremoth: Completed with same Ranger as Condi Druid and Condi Reaper. Felt slow and tedious, even though the fight had nice ideas with the Blighted battles + turning his illusions against him.
Next in line whenever I feel like dragging my feet through it: Power DD + Berserker (with an alternative cheap Rabid condi set).

She’s pretty annoying for sure. Seems far better suited to a children’s cartoon. And I like dumb, goofy cartoons well enough but the cuteness just seems out of place here. We’re up against ancient dragons and evil cults, kitten .

Weak argument, especially with all the visual bling-bling you can have on a character which can feel – depending on the kind and combiniation of it – equally or more “off”.

Otherwise: I disagree. Taimi is awesome. Her optional dialogue about her role in the team in Rata Novus was quite good, and I like her interaction/dynamic with Braham.
“Doing something about her” simply due to her voice and whatnot is pretty immature but I concede that everyone has (a) character(s) bugging them and who could “fall down a cliff” without caring about it.

I don’t see how introvert you are when you are willing to start a thread about it.

I think it’s because they treat social interaction like ascended gear. It’s nice to have, but it’s not required in most cases, and it can be quite the pain to deal with at times. Whereas more extroverted people consider it more mandatory and kick people from dungeons.

And just for fun, I wonder if this thing actually works: https://www.uclassify.com/browse/prfekt/myers-briggs-attitude?input=Text

With my post here: Introverted: 92%. With another post in one of the Cadeceus topics, 88%. I wonder how large the rating fluctuates when English – as in my case – is not your mother tongue.
