I found a fix for what was causing mine to crash.

If you have a chest like this go to graphics options and change your interface size to Normal and it shouldn’t crash when you go to open it. If Normal doesn’t work I’d suggest trying the other sizes as well.

Hope it works for you all.

It worked for me, cheers

People like you are exactly why myself and a few of the people i roll with in wvw tend to slot alot of hard/soft cc. We don’t usually allow you to get your giggles with the “chase me chase me” part, we usually force you to skip ahead to the “OMG THEY CAUGHT ME, ALTf4!!!!!!!” lol.

I haven’t found that to be all too common actually, the groups I tend to come across I think expect opponents that will fight back.

EDIT: Also like to mention that as I said it’s a delicate balance, you need to give your opponents some hope, but letting them get close enough to you to lock you down is just bad form on the runners part, and incase it does happen: having a clutch stability/condi removal is an important backup plan.

I don’t typically roam, but when I do it’s always solo.
With so many players grouping up and/or running cheesy builds I’ve found a way to still have quite a lot of enjoyment out of roaming

So when I do come across other roamers, I tend to have my fun in the chase and to (in a way) waste our time. If you think about it, I’m stopping them from doing anything meaningful so it is helpful in a sense :P

The main idea is to be on a high mobility class, with tanky stats, decent condi removal
(variations of a Nike warrior is good for this), when you find other roamers / a group of roamers, get them to take chase. The only time I find this a challenge is when groups chase me, but that’s okay, I slow down my pace a little for solo roamers

There’s a delicate balance to it, you don’t want to get too far ahead or they’ll smarten up and stop chasing, but you want to draw out the encounter as long as humanly possible. I’ve once got a solo thief to do a full lap around the northern half of a borderlands map :’)

I find roamers typically much better squirrels than zerglings, and to me it’s certainly much more satisfying than fighting cheesy builds or groups of roamers.

Considering how often I find others who are willing to chase me for a decent cross-country, I’d guess they have fun also, otherwise why chase for so long.

Apparently, I need to play Mass Effect.

First two installments of the franchise are excellent, but the third game threw away all the promises they made over the five years of development and Bioware played the “Artistic License” and “You Just Don’t Understand Our Vision” cards in defense.

To be fair, if you get over the fact that the decisions you made through 1 and 2 have no real impact besides a few side missions and cut scenes MS3 is still a pretty awesome game with an epic story and is definitely worth playing.

To answer OPs question. I would cheer on while Shepard beats the crap out of that leafy bag of chlorophyll.

The thing is it wasn’t just the lack of meaningful choices that spoiled the game. ME’s story was 95% epic, but the remaining 5% was so god-awful terrible that it managed to drag the rest of the work down with it. It not only employed a McGuffin, but it pulled a Deus Ex Machina on top of that, then proceeded to retroactively ruin the mystery of the Reapers by revealing their motivation to be completely illogical and contradictory.

I’d go into a long rant about it, but this is the GW2 discussion forums, so instead I’ll just say I hope we’ll never have to divert Pact resources to build a presumed dragon kill-switch based on schematics created through some weird hand-me-down collaboration of hundreds of extinct civilizations that never communicated with each other (much less shared a common language or metric system), and that we have absolutely no idea how it works, what it does, or how to even activate it (but decide to bring it to the final battle anyway); I also hope there will never be a holographic Scarlet that appears at the hour of our defeat to explain that dragons were created to save us from developing magics that will wind up causing our extinction… by preemptively committing genocide on us; additionally I hope said holographic Scarlet never gives us the option to instantly win by committing suicide in a red, blue, or green pillar of light that ultimately just affects what color filter we get for the exact same ending cutscene.

Unlike some other game. >cough<

>:O And now I know how it all ended, nice.

Never finished ME3, played about half way through, wanted more points so I started playing the free iphone/ipad “thing”, a week passed and I realised I stopped playing ME3. Guess I didn’t care that much about it by then and just stopped all together.
I knew I’d find out the ending one day, and here I am.

And honestly, I was never going to touch ME3 again anyway, ME2 was too good.

So what did you do during golem week???

Golem week gave me the opportunity to finally grind out my Fractal Capacitor (Infused).

I stumbled upon Leaf of Kudzu during a level 4 Fractal so that’s pretty cool, of-course it’s far too expensive to turn into a legendary for me, I’ve never seen the appeal with Kudzu anyway, and I don’t want to sell it, so I’ll sit on it for now :S

I’ve only had this happen to me recently too, in wvw I always got on rams as fast as I could and just tapped away at the keys as they came off cooldown, but now I can’t, more often than not everytime a skill comes off cooldown I tap away at it for 1-3 seconds before it fires off. You are insulted by a game? You seriously wrote that?

People’s complaints are that they aren’t substantive. It’s not actual content… it’s a distraction. It’s like dangling keys in front of a baby… and as soon as the event is over, we’ll be back to square one again.

This made me chuckle, thanks for the laugh! I agree though. Other more major events may be less like this though. They do put a lot of work into the LS and it’s good quality material, for its purpose.
Instead they should focus on changing the content that is already permanently there, the things that players enjoy to do and expand on those. Then agian, so many people agreeing and disagreeing in here.

It’s funny how he said this and sad that it’s true. I didnt not come to play this MMO to do nintendo like gameplay, it’s almost insulting for me.

cant you read? Yes i wrote that, it’s insulting how they throw this sab crap at me and think well he will enjoy that.

I feel the same way, but the thing is there are a lot of retro game enthusiasts out there to my surprise, I found I didn’t enjoy sab the first time, so I just ignore it now, I consider this my little break from the living story, since I wouldn’t otherwise benefit, I hear so many complaints about how hard it is. oh well, my loss

How bout this: 1000 gems to unlock account-wide Legendaries.

Because the reason they aren’t right now is due to monetization, so you’d have to make up for it,

You know I’d definitely find a way to spend a fixed amount of gems to unlock account bound on my legendary, just having the freedom to wield that hard work of farming freely across all your characters, but fussing around with trans gems and these splitters, nup /giveup, too much work, I’m getting a lot more carried away with this than I should be, I’m taking a break.

Yes.

And there’s nothing wrong with it tbh. It’s a pretty boring event to begin with, and unless you want swift closer, a hit on Scarlet, or farm champions, there really isn’t much of a reason to stick around.

I don’t blame them. I usually just complete a couple of the rift events, and then alt/tab to the forums or something like that. Unless I’m playing with friends, which can make the experience a little bit more enjoyable.

Ladies and Gentlemen … everything that is wrong with MMOs!

Not just MMOs sadly, but life in general. How many people go to work simply for the paycheck, skating through on the absolute bare minimum, letting others pull the weight for them? How many take advantage of, or even abuse, state and federally funded welfare systems because they don’t want to have to put forth any effort in life? The games reflect our society, the good and the bad. We need to recognize the issues and fix them. Even if, for now, its only in a game, its at least a start.

Anet, we need the ability to report leechers back! [and people need to use it when we get it!]

:D making leeching fun, we can find hiding spots

I was originally drawn to charr because of their guns and battle theme, so unreal tournament tough guy stuff, I expected something epic, but I got none of that playing a one.

MattyjRulz.2840

It’s not like farming is such an evil thing, it’s simply what people do when they desperately want to reach a goal, they’ll put a lot of time and effort into it!

-the main problem is attitude – now that the gates of arah is fixed this really shouldn’t be a problem lol?
-the reason why people farm is because the items they want are so ridiculously priced
-people get frustrated when they see their life slipping away hour by hour farming

Not interested in these champion trains mainly because I don’t find the skins amazing enough to work towards, or throw that much gold at 8|
And also DR keeps telling me I should stop killing things in the open world that isn’t a world boss, I’ve started to listen.

Are tanks viable, or does DPS reign supreme?

in Guardian

Posted by: MattyjRulz.2840

MattyjRulz.2840

In higher levels of fotm generally no, dps is prefered from my experience, and knowing the encounter well to dodge killer hits, but really I wouldn’t complain if people in my dungeon runs wore full clerics with an emphasis on not dying, what would annoy me more is a zerker dying nonstop.

Though that being said I’ve heard people voicing their opinions on tanky builds as a stepping stone to learning encounters, then gradually moving towards zerker when you can dodge it all and kill the boss asap.

As for your build, if you enjoy playing it then do so, it looks like a very group support build, I myself love meditations since the recent patch, and I always try to hit hard because I like seeing big numbers xD.
It sounds to me like you just had a bad experience with a dungeon group, so my opinion: play how you like, just don’t expect to be welcomed in high high fractals or arah path 4.

Whose time is more important to you?
There is your answer.

Neither, if I want to arah I’ll first look to guest, I’m not about to ruin others enjoyment of the game, I was taught to respect others, and besides I sometimes enjoy the odd farming, killing mobs is fun in large numbers, lots of loot…
If the people who want to open arah don’t have the numbers to do so then why blame the farmers? If not for the farm the farmers wouldn’t be there, the people trying to open it would have wandered off looking for something else to do lacking the numbers to kill the giant, and arah would remain closed. The main problem is people being [EDIT] disrespectful.

Sure I’m a casual player and I’ve participated in these giant farms, hell it’s good loot, and without it I probably wouldn’t have bothered finishing my legendary anytime soon because t6 mats are so ridiculous to obtain these days, however asking people who want to run the dungeons to guest isn’t as evil as some of you may think!

Can we look over at cof? People guest for that crap all the time what’s the big fuss? Let’s not take for granted our easy access to guesting why don’t we use it?

I have recently had to guest for arah recently but it was fine, I asked my pug dungeon group if any of their servers were open, 2 were and I guested, ezpz !

As for my experience with these giant farms I’ve found a lot of abuse on both sides, I’d say it’s about even really.
If the farmers want to reset and you don’t plus a couple of others want to open arah THEN TRY, but if you guys can’t finish the event don’t blame the farmers, they wouldn’t be there if not for the farm, and the dungeon would stay closed regardless.

Just my 2 cents on the matter.

Yeah I’ve encountered the perma cripple, I just relogged and it was gone, incredibly annoying. I just wish people went back to cursed shore farming events, it was so much fun, just turn up and find events happening all over the place, lots and lots of mobs to kill with strangers.. lol now it’s just barren except for the odd player or two, so many map callouts for “any events?”.

The main reason for me being here that I’m after t6 mats and it’s just not fun wandering around orr killing a mob here and there, the only option to me (right at this moment) that I feel is viable is cof farming (which in itself is mindless and boring, but actually rewards me), then buying the mats off the trading post.

I’m still having a lot of fun, I only play in PvE and WvW. If you’re having doubts about thief why not try other classes anyway?

Thief is (in my opinion) in a good place right now as far as balance goes.

u cant thing shortbow or pistol is in a good place….

or our lack of boons or hp or defense without having 1st place burst :P srry we had our burst cut 33% with much alone!

anyway there are a few major problems other than that too. like how we only have 3 or MAYBE 4 utilities to choose from bc the others are truly not viable.

or how you can have all berserk arrmor but depending if u put 30 30 10 0 0 for full dmg or 0 0 10 30 30 for 50% less dmg……shouldnt be such a big swing due to traits although there is bc our base dmg need to be higher…as anet said before.

i am not saying that we are the only ones that need work but making crap decision every patch is making this game die. period. most are waiting to jump ship when the next big MMORPG comes out. then you can atleast cut GW2 players in half.. AT least.

you have the same armor as engineer and ranger. saying ‘we don’t have the same armor/hp’ is ridiculous. stack something other than zerkers if that’s your complaint. also, if that is indeed true that thief gets less armor rating, deal with it. that’s the tradeoff for being able to 12k backstab.

Okay I get what you’re saying but you mention us being able to pull off 12k backstabs as if it’s a norm, it’s like saying a zerk warrior is able to pull off a 40k hundred blades, sure it’s conceivable I guess? With 25 stacks of bloodlust and might !
Our dps perhaps isn’t as high as you think, but then again aren’t we supposed to be the slippery hard hitting class? :\

Zerker Guardian

in Guardian

Posted by: MattyjRulz.2840

MattyjRulz.2840

For hundreds of hours, I’ve played my Guardian that focuses on a shout build with Altrustic Healing, Empowering Might, and all that- using Knight’s gear, PVT, and all that good stuff.

It has served me well. I’ve never had a problem with dungeons at all.

However, lately, I’ve been striving harder to obtain my first legendary. I’m at the point where all I need now is hundreds of gold. Unfortunately, I went to the dark side and invested in full Berserker’s gear to get into those super quick CoF p1 runs to get gold.

Then, I decided to take my Warrior to other dungeons- Arah exp, CoE exp, and I found myself not really dying much at all. I’ve become confident in my ability to dodge and kite and to simply not die. The damage output on my Warrior is about 4x+ the damage of my Guardian. It made me think about giving the legendary to my Warrior instead.

However, I love my Guardian. I’ve played it for hundreds of hours like I said, and would like to give it the legendary and to continue keeping it as my main- but I just feel so much more useful on my Warrior.

I think my skill has grown so that I can sacrifice all that toughness and vitality in favor of precision and crit damage without going down. I’d like to carry this over to my Guardian so I can remain playing it. I already know that I won’t achieve the same damage output as my Guardian, but I’d like to dish out as much damage as I can.

Is this a good idea? Are there any strong zerker-focused Guardian builds that you would recommend?

TLDR:
Just tried a zerker Warrior, and am loving the damage output, and am finding my skill to dodge and stay alive to be worth it, as I hardly go down and I dish out insane damage. I love my Guardian and would like to carry that over to my Guardian. I can’t just “play both” because I’m striving for a legendary that I’d like to give to my Guardian so I can continue using it as my “main.” Any power based or zerkers build you have that you could recommend? Or is this just not a good idea?

Legendaries are Pow/Tough/Vit matey

Transmutation stones

I’m in the exact same boat as @Khairos.3890, and am curious to see if anyone has an awesome Guardian setup focused around as much damage as possible 8|

I’ve toyed to play Arah, but every time I come to lupicus, my team gets wiped, and decides to leave. The simple way to fix this, is fixing the aoe attack, that’s does in phase 2. The aoe does simple not hit where the red circles show. It’s so frustrating, when you really want Arah gear.
Please make the developers see this.

It’s not about lupi being too challenging fyi, the whole point of this is the aoes in phase two seem unpredictable, I’ve in the past walked right out of a red circle, a foot length right out of the circle and still been hit for massive damage, I think people are too used to seeing QQ comments, and right now without reading, bashing people for their input. I do like lupi as a boss, he is challenging and that’s nice, but that’s not what this is about.

EDIT: the thread name is kinda misleading, read what the op sais

That mass aoe Lupicus does is functioning exactly as intended, it’s just misunderstood. Lupicus fires numerous shots that travel in the air or along the ground to the designated red circle landing points. However the bullets themselves have collision, so if you are standing in the path of the bullets that travel along the ground, you WILL get hit regardless of whether or not you were at its landing point. And yes, he’s also still firing his targeted attacks while doing his aoe.

Oh wow, I didn’t realise, I always just assumed they were red circles, if you’re in them that’s how you’ll get hit, just getting out of the circles will save you.

Thank you good sir !

And yeah that other attack in phase two where he throws a green thing at you, I always watch lupi so that’s never been too much of a problem, I can see that happening.

Gigantic lupicus is too challenging

My problems with Fractals...

I have a problem mostly with 2, the rest I don’t mind too much, I’ve previously used my guardian for fractals, got to lvl 20, no longer interested in guardian, playing my thief for example, I have the amulets and rings from drops/daily coins, enough fractal coins to get 15 ar, starting back at lvl 1 fractals, not interested, grind with little reward comes to mind, what if I decide in another month I don’t particularly like my thief?

Fractals is only worth investing time into if you’re certain the character you’re progressing with is the only one you want to play.

It’s not about lupi being challenging or not, I might like him to be harder, but I have in the past found the aoe circles in phase two to be unpredictable, and this has lead to a lot of frustration, because I’m not convinced it’s a learn to play issue.

Because I play an acrobatic thief, with not much in the way of being able to take a hit, I at the very least pop my evade heal, and two dodges so I can be sure I wont be hit, if it looks really bad, I use Roll for Initiative as well.

Enemies are expert trackers now? (stealth)

in Thief

I like the change, stealth feels more complete in a couple of ways:

- Stealth doesn’t drop agro allowing npcs to reset back to full health(our unique ability that gives us an amazing advantage in pvp all of a sudden works against us in pve… whaa?).

- Building on from that, thieves can’t accidentally undo the progress of a boss fight by stealthing all party members(I’ve never accidentally done this, but party members have noted their concern when I use refuge to help out).

Sure, we can’t lose all agro from mobs as easily as we used to, but before our solo play was so badly effected, it used to be too easy to mess up your solo progress fighting a champion, now we can take advantage of a pve friendly stealth that works to our advantage during pve combat as it always has for pvp.

Honestly who hasn’t gotten kitten off a champion reset because you disappeared for a second?

The new AC...

I went through the new AC a few days ago with some guildies, I usually run dungeons with pugs but this was just to check out the new content.

We got through all 3 paths, wiped at the spider once, nothing noteworthy except that path 2 (ghostbusters scene) was nothing but annoying, and tedious, This may sound crazy, but I would often welcome a path of AC every now and then, even used it for levelling up my warrior from 53-80, now I just couldn’t care less for it.

Dungeon group finder?

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Before GW2 I would have considered myself a pve focused player, however I have had a hard time finding groups for dungeons I want to run, and I always pug, instead of spamming map chat until I’m suppressed I just head over to WvW, I don’t have the time to try to find a group.

I have been using gw2lfg for Fractals, but it just feels so wrong that people need to resort to a website for finding a group in a game, the two shouldn’t be apart, enough people use gw2lfg and it really shows that it should be in-game. That’s just how I feel on the matter.
