yes. As BiS should be and are in most games of the genre.
GW2 was made to be different, so I don’t see a reason to copy paste from others really. If you think about it, gear adds nothing to the game except progressing, and when Anet releases masteries there will be no need to progress through gear imo.
Imagine if the whole game worked like in spvp, where everyone do play on the same gear-level from start. People would then focus more on the competitive side in both WvW and PvE, instead of grinding for gear that wouldn’t matter in the end anyway. People would have fun from the beginning instead of having fun as a distant goal. Masteries would provide everything that gear is said to do today, and people could try new maxed-out builds every day, without having to grind for gear or spend money on stats.
And while Anet is at it, please remove consumable food buffs. Having to pay money every half/hour to max your character out is not only demotivating, but it encourages you to always rush through everything you do just to make value from the food spent. If the conservative forces cannot resist, then atleast make foodbuffs into an unlimited tonic that can be crafted and sold for a reasonable price depending on quality. Rather invest once and have it forever than pop another one every half/hour.
While I feel your sentiment, and wish it were true. It just isn’t, at least for the majority of players.
A huge portion of MMO player retention is through arbitrary goals like gear grind. I really disliked the idea of anet adding ascended gear. But the addition did exactly what they had planed for. It gave a lot of players something to play, gather, save for while keeping the actual benefit minimal.
If they were to remove this tier some people would indeed play more WvW and Spvp (both having serious issues that need to be addressed fun and reward wise). An even bigger majority would simply quit the game. Something I’ve noticed with players lately, most are very unskilled at picking their own goals. Many need that carrot on a stick to stay focused and motived. Sad, but reality in our current gamer generation.
Back on topic, ascended is no where needed (for 99% of the game. level 40+ fractals being the exception). The differences between exotic and ascended have been pointed out (not to mention the aproximately 1400% price increase). Most useful ascended items are trinkets, most of which can’t even be bought but must be aquired through play.
That is why they developed the mastery system. To keep the progression and keep the players playing, without adding additional levels or new tiers of gear. I don’t see why they couldn’t work retroactively and remove the ascended gear aswell, the system to replace it is soon here and it would then satisfy both the “gear progressers” and the “fun experiencers”.
I really feel that Legendaries need to be more powerful. More stats, some type of specific power to that item( Ex. Thunderfury had 40%ish chance to proc 5 tornadoes that would attack closest targets, drawing a lot of threat), and overall more damage. IMO, a legendary should do more than 5% extra damage and stats.
Hah that’s sad. No. One of the worst things in this game atm is “high level gear” with stat bonuses. At launch we were promised that the shinies would be shinies only, not some stupid WoW marginal progression system that doesn’t promote build diversity.
Ascended gear is bad as it is, if they gave legendaries bigger bonuses in combat it would go against the whole buttering they went on about masteries being the progression in this game. REMOVE ASCENDED GEAR WITH INCREASED STATS FROM THIS GAME.
LEGENDARIES AND ASCENDED GEAR SHOULD BE ABOUT COSMETICS AND CONVENIENCE ONLY.You are way over estimating the effectiveness of Ascended gear. The stat bonus from ascended gear is so minimal as to be completely negligible; a person in full exotics is just as effective as someone in full ascended. Ascended gear is really just for agony infusion slots for Fractals.
Oh then we could solve the problem by putting infusion slots on exotic gear right? right? No, because you like everybody else is drooling over WoW gear progressing and put that up as an excuse. If everyone really wanted GW2 to not be about the gear, then make the whole game like spvp.
Anything apart from the spvp gear system is gear progression and that is what we’re against, right? Or did I just put the word fun before gear progression in your mouth? I’m sorry..

Ascended armour (and to a lesser extent, ascended weapons) is a long-term goal. It’s not required for any content except high level fractals. Don’t stress about not having it – just work towards it at your own pace (assuming you even want it).
Lol. Everywhere where it provides a stat bonus is it also required to be maxed out. Your argument is invalid. Just cus Anet throws more dmg in high lvl fractals doesn’t necessarily mean it is the only place where ascended gear is needed.
As a WvW roamer it is just as important, although not very noticeable.
Ascended gear was a stupid mistake that has ruined build diversity and do encourage people to keep the same build forever. By removing ascended gear people could afford to main different gear types with different specs on different characters. GG Anet.
You deserve to be kicked if you attempt to sell a dungeon.
Don’t sell dungeons and you wont have any problems.
Selling takes away the whole point of running it don’t you think?

I’m so fed up with this. We literally have NO mobility, all we have is a puny, pathetic and straight up laughable little dash.
No viable swiftness skills.
The teleport on the sword is also the most worthless thing ever, considering that after you teleport to them they’ll just run away from you and spam /laugh.
The GS 2 which is almost ALL of our damage is also a laughable skill, since you can’t stick on them, so they just port away, when its done they come back and kill you.
And even if you can bring the enemy down to 10% hp, guess what? You still won’t be able to kill him. He’ll either run away from you, dash away from you or just straight up teleport away from you, and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it.
This class is just worthless when it comes to anything but PvE or zerging.
I mean come the kitten on, just look at warriors, they have the LONGEST dash ever, and then guess what? Another dash using the same weapon! Oh and their dashes deal insane damage too, must be nice. Then they swap to hammer or whatever and gets a ccs for days.
So i guess i’m just tired of being kited while not being able to do a single thing about it, i’m tired of people being able to run away all the time.
Like, at least don’t make our damaging skills require the enemy to literally be right next to us for us to do damage, while giving us no skills that would allow us to do so.I’m just done with this kitten, it’s frustrating and just pure bs. A melee class with no cc, like, did you even logic while making this class?
And just don’t even suggest me running staff or shouts on a medi guardian.
I’m too fed up with this, rolling a guard, rant over.
This sounds like a l2p issue.
We have 3 gap closers and perma swift if specced, just sad to read your QQ posts.
He’s a troll btw.
I think companies in general need to realize that if they decide to create a need for something, it is their own choice and their own responsibility to take care of the addition.
Allow me to give an example: a couple of years ago smartphones were starting to be equipped with cameras. Before then, no one had an issue with its absence, but since they were introduced no one would buy a smartphone without one.
The same goes for SAB: when Anet released SAB, they created a need for further content development due to its popularity, which they would not have had if they did not create SAB. Guild Wars 2 would have been a great game without it, but because they have accumulated a large pool of SAB-enthusiasts like myself, they simply cannot stop creating the content that we have grown fond of since.
Do not create a need for something you cannot maintain respectfully! Looking at you SAB minis!
I purchased GW2 as soon as i heard that they were making a MAC client. I was thrilled!
My friends were telling me so much about it but I wasn’t able to play it until then.
So when i finally purchased the game, only because it had a “mac version under development” i found that the game was as good as i expected, i got to say it got me addicted for some time, but one little thing that kept killing the fun of the game was the FPS on macbook pros.
It was impossible to play a pvp match, a world boss and lets not even mention WvW, which was one of the features that caught my eye when I started searching about GW2.Anyways, my point is:
I have a mac.
I only bought the game because you guys made an advertisement about a mac client.
It’s been around 3 years and I haven’t seen the Beta sticker out of the mac client.
I can’t enjoy the game on my mac, which runs the game smooth as butter on bootcamp, on the same mac (my dvd-r doesn’t read anything anymore so i can’t do a bootcamp and i am not bothered to mess around my mac’s coding to try to make bootcamp work, and neither will i pay for parallels just for GW2) so the problem isn’t my laptop, considering other mac users suffer the same problems.BUT!!!!!
I do own an Xbox One and recently i found out that there’s an mmorpg that was for pc and now is on xbox.I haven’t played gw2 in a very long time because it’s impossible to enjoy on mac. But I would very much enjoy playing it once again with my guildmates on my xbox one.
To wrap it all up… please consider gw2 for consoles free for those who already bought the game, ESPECIALLY MAC USERS.
Thank you
Uhm maybe you are having low FPS because you’re playing on a kitten laptop?
And now you’re asking them to develop the game for consoles? Dude companies spend years alone doing that (ESO dev) and if they would give it away for free to current customers it would be like 110% stupid. You do realize that MMO:s aren’t supposed to be played on consoles right? What ESO did was an attempt to please the “Skyrim online” fanboys, a failure that is.
Now I’ve already written this but since you’re probably a troll I wont write anything else.
It sounds like you have a Razer mouse. Never buy a Razer mouse.
Sollution: buy a Steelseries mouse, there is even one with a GW2 artwork.
First public HoT beta and it happens to be right on GTA V PC release day.
Anet, not sure if you did this intentionally but it just causes frustration when you could have easily chosen another day.
Sure as hell hope that once HoT is released, they’ll work on SAB, before S3 living world. :/
I think the development of Living World S3 is well underway already, considering it will probably start to be the first release after HoT. And if we ever get SAB again, it probably wont be the living world team(s?) who develop it. So I think we basically have three release options: Before HoT, as an adventure in HoT or after both HoT and Living World S3.
I’m just gonna drop this post I created for another thread here:
So I have noticed a lot of new players complaining about the absence of LS1. I have played since release and really enjoyed LS1, yet I missed out on a couple of releases including Southsun story aswell as Flame and Frost.
I do understand that remaking the whole 29 releases to fit soloplayers/small groups is too much to ask for as it would basically be like doing it all over again for Anet, but please take a moment to look at my ideas for a sollution:
1. Imagine if they made 29 additional serverlayers, one for each release, and put all the content as it was during that specific release in each specific server. Then they could add one tab for each of the 29 LS1 releases in the Hero panel just like with LS2, and each of these tabs would give you the option to travel to the specific server for the specific release, much like you can choose to travel to a specific borderland in WvW depending on what you prefer. If they had this feature, everyone could join any of the servers at any time, and replay the content like it was released years ago. The issue with much of the content being designed for larger crowds of players would be solved, as everyone from the whole game population choosing to play a specific release would gather in the same place. They could even add additional layers if one becomes too crowded. The specific content could loop in the same server forever.
Allow me to give an example: You are new to the game and you really want to play the Destruction of Lions Arch. So you open your Hero tab, enter the server that is having the Destruction of Lions Arch release, and join all of the other players who are doing the same! The world would look like it did a year ago, and every single story, every single piece of content would be available to every single player once more.
Someone who never played LS1 could begin on the first server and play as much as they liked with everyone else in the same situation, move on to the next one and so forth until they have played on all 29 servers and are done with LS1. The replay value would be incredible.
When veteran players played the LS1 in the years past, the living and frequently evolving part of the LS1 was the main reason why Anet developed it.
With my ideas, all players would be given the tool to evolve the world at their own pace once again

I’m betting on a destroyed Rata Sum for April 1st (as the prank) and SAB on the second.
That would explain the layered maps for Rata Sum that were datamined.
#SAB2015CONFIRMED
Sorry, but the SAB box is always there, so it is very easy to have the SAB box in a picture taken in Rata Sum.
That armor is just Asura cultural heavy.
#OccupySAB2015 #SABorRiot #BringBackSAB
Good point about the armour, but my other point was that it looks like the photo was taken to carefully show the SAB box, (I know it is there all the time), that is the hint I meant.
Just some awesome observations:
Quote from the client welcome message: “Dreams come true this week in the Gem Store!”
Pictures from the Black Lion update post:
Here you can see the SAB box carefully placed in sight in the background in the tunnel to the left. No people around the box means that it was planned to be in sight a long time ago, before the riots!
https://d3b4yo2b5lbfy.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/3995cquaggan-aviator-mail.jpg
Not sure about this one, but that armour looks new to me?
https://d3b4yo2b5lbfy.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/6f58eharvesting-gun.jpg
In both pictures the new items are shown by an Asura. Moto is an Asura.
To conclude, they just added the previous SAB minis to the Black Lion chests on the second anniversary. Could mean new minis are coming tomorrow, and if they tease us like this with the old minis without giving us SAB access, the whole game would blow up in a matter of hours and media would feed endlessly on the former soul of GW2.

Congratulations! As one of our most loyal players, we value your feedback. We want to invite you to join us on March 24 to stress test Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thornsâ„¢* and find out what you think.
“As one of our most loyal players, we value your feedback”
So instead of giving beta access to those who would spend the time doing actual testing, it turned out to be a better idea to just let the beta keys be a pay-to-win subject? That encourages everyone to buy gems to access the beta or just write nice things on the forums to attract attention…
Beta testers should be chosen from a gameplay point of view, nothing else. It would also be great if the sign-up worked as intended instead of never registering for every other player.
I agree with you MrHeartless. When I decided to upgrade to ascended armour a while back, I came to that conclusion quite fast and wanted to craft it as soon as possible. I had two years worth of materials in my bank, but when I was about to put them to good use for the first time I happened to be stuck in a time-gated trap. I wouldn’t wait a month for something I basically already had, so I went to the trading post and bought every single time-gated material on spot.
Sometimes it makes me wonder from where the idea of ascended gear came from. In a game where the journey is the goal it doesn’t make sense to have a system where your wealth determines your gear in the endgame. Should have kept it exotic. Promote alt creation. Promote build diversity. Liberty.
Sometimes, though, it makes me wonder from where the idea of SAB came from. The single most innovative aspect of this game to date, yet made by a talented few. What does that have to do with this topic? Look at the reward system in SAB, every time you complete something due to your own accomplishments, you are rewarded accordingly. You know that feeling when you stomp the Storm Wizard? Being rewarded simultaneously with the unique epic yellow SAB skin is a way of rewarding the players that should be applied to the whole game.
(edited by Moldur.6275)
Between now and HoT launch there is yet a lot of time, and if preparing SAB means that HoT is delayed by a couple of weeks due to some of the devs preparing SAB, I think it is completely worth it. Lets face it, they haven’t announced the release date yet, and if they were to release HoT in late August vs early September, it wouldn’t matter which date they chose, as the difference from now until then is minimal between the two.
To get to my point, spending some resources on SAB would give the playerbase an incredible amount of content compared to the devs needed, as it could easily make months fly by as we wait for the expansion to launch.
Conclusion: A few devs working on SAB as a side project would barely affect HoT as a whole, but make the time until launch so much more enjoyable that I think it would greatly benefit HoT and the whole game in a bigger perspective.
April 1, two weeks away.
Definitely a 3rd Heavy
A Mordant Crescent Knight (Warrior-Necro (+ Dervish, maybe) or heavy armored Dervish-Necro; the antagonist of the Guardian). /name subject to change
Or a W/Rt Spirit Warrior/Knight. Basically a samurai using the old, GW1 Ritualist weapon spells, summoning spirits (Fear, Anger, Hate, Pain, Anguish, Dissonance, Shelter, Destruction, Preservation, etc. – so not the same as the Guardian’s spirit weapons) and gaining power from the spirit world (Sight Beyond Sight, Binding Chains, Channeled Strike, etc.). It would be for Cantha, of course. /name subject to change
As for races:
Largos, Tengu, Undead (Elonian undead reanimated via King Joko’s power: thus only former humans).
No kodan, please. They are so boring and bland.
This man was a prophet.
Yea because brainstorming everything that could possibly be a heavy class makes you a prophet…Like seriously what were you thinking the guy basically wrote down everything the community had guessed so far in his own post and that is something you highlight?
Must be so many prophets around right now who guessed that the new borderland would contain a desert. You know because that is very likely and not cool to have guessed beforehand.
Btw I am also a prophet because I guessed that the new Stronghold map would contain pvp right? Right? No.
(edited by Moldur.6275)
I don’t think Sylvari actually wear underwear. There’s just some underwear-like leafy growth in their nether regions.
So technically that’s entire commando race.
xD
If we go in way of equivalent numbers like with 3xlight, heavy, medium. Maybe now we will get 9th bag slot.
Or we will be nerfed back to 2 because it is a 2 in Guild Wars 2…………….
Seriously wtf is wrong, you’re connecting a kitten class and a kitten bagslot..Like omg how do you even
(edited by Moldur.6275)
Professions do not have their own starting zones. A character’s starting zone is determined by the race that was selected.
Thank you for finally bringing some clarity on this subject. I am however very disappointed in this decision as it completely wrecks lore continuity, I had hoped the devs had an interesting way to introduce a new class without breaking story. It makes no sense for a Revenant to do the same story steps that all other classes did as that class didn’t exist till Rytlock came back from the mist.
Really dropped the ball on this Anet, really wish you took a page out of the Blizzard playbook here because even though GW2 claims to be a Living World WoW handles their lore and story progression better.
You must be a fan of Worgen.
Really? Taunt? What’s with you dev’s? Its not WoW, not L2, its game with unique experience, where we don’t need tank/healer/damage dealer trinity.
So you’re yet one of those who think it is an aggro skill…What can I say, except questioning your ability to read.
IT IS A CC SKILL kitten
Man, Guardian is a tough one!
Generally, I hope that the specializations offer a new way to play the class, rather than a furthering of its existing strengths. With that in mind, I think of guardians as being pretty defensively oriented. I’d like to see a Zealot specialization that swaps out all that yummy defense/boon stuff for aggressive DPS/condition oriented skills. Instead of Virtues giving boons, make them give conditions or DPS boons. If there is a new spear or polearm weapon type… that’d be the one! If not… maybe a shortbow or longbow?

It is what NCSoft is projecting for the future in revenue. They projecting that the expansion will release during the 3rd quarter 2015, so between July through September.
It is not ncsoft, kitten quaggan. Learn to read, it is a greedy analytics company not related to them in any way. This kind of kitten posts make me really losing faith in the community.

Nobody is going to actually have to level up the new profession if they play normally. Just use all the xp books by that point.
Going to be funny seeing all the insta level 80’s in August..
Your topic name is an off topic lie.
No, it is pve specific.
Just read the new info on the Mastery System, and i’m a bit underwhelmed…
When i read about different areas unlocking different masteries was thinking it might be something along the reward tracks of Spvp (Kryta, Shiverpeaks, Maguma, Orr…) instead of old content or new content. Having specifics for each area would be that extra incentive to go out and revisit old areas. I was actually stoked when i read about it, only to get disappointed in the following sentence. Also the list of Mastery categories seems limited, but i understand that it might not be the best indicator to the number of masteries available.
Now my main concern is the replacement of Skill Points (SP), which are a heavily used currency for anyone that does stuff in the Mystic Forge, with the Mastery Points (MP). Why not just award both? Wouldn’t it be better for the players to still have that steady, reliable source of SP?
Finally, apparently Masteries aren’t unlocked unless you buy the Expansion. What happens to those lvl 80 Chars that don’t have the expansion for whichever reason? Will the get stunted in both ways, not gaining SP and not gaining MP? Or will those still earn SP, which might keep people from acquiring the expansion to amass SP beforehand.
I don’t know, it seems illogical to me that SP is just completely replaced with MP, which, to me, crates that doubt about whether or not farming SP might be a good idea in the near future. When we could simply receive both. I mean, why not? After 80 and you unlock all skills, SP is just currency, having SP+MP with each full Mastery bar doesn’t seem to affect any kind of balance, and specially for those that are new to the game won’t make it that much harder to gain SP and use the mystic forge.
Don’t make a thread based upon your own failure in reading a dev blog post.
It clearly says that skillpoints will be removed from past-80 leveling, and instead gained from high level content. HoT owners will get Mastery progression from leveling, non-HoT owners will not. Skillpoints are available to gain for both in the same way. But not in the traditional way past-80. The Mastery points is an addition and a reassignment, not a game-wide replacement.
Hope that gives structure to your high pre-expansion entropy.
ARENANET PLEASE READ AN RESPOND TO EACH OF MY QUESTIONS ESPECIALLY ABOUT THE HUD QUESTION… i would ask these questions at PAX but sadly i do not have the money to travel, much less buy a pass to PAX.
it’s great to play with friends and guildies. However, there are times i want to venture forth by myself and explore and experience the game that is Guild Wars 2. At launch Soloing was quite rewarding, but now with the changes since launch… this game punishes a solo player with crappy drop rates and crappy drops in general even with your magic find maxed out. GW2 was originally based more on exploration, well that’s the impression i got during the beta weekends[yes, i bought the collectors edition]. Now, after reading the new Heart of Maguuma thread anet just posted, it sounds like they are going to make much smaller maps with explosive content and challenges that require massive amounts of players to complete…
what the heck happened to exploration?
Is Soloing going to be forever screwed?
why not give all existing maps explosive content?
why not give a good reason to revisit all the areas in the game and not just the new areas?
why can’t solo content be just as good as zerg content?
why not make weapon and armor skins look awesome for a change?
why oh why do the classes get nerfs while in PvE [in pvp the nerfs make sense] while the enemies get buffed?
why does the council watch chest have clipping issues with leg armor while the guild watch chest, which is virtually identical to the council watch chest, doesn’t?
is there ever going to be a way to switch to a basic HUD that takes up much less of the game screen? [this game looks epic and having this feature would reduce clutter all over the screen so you can enjoy the scenery much more. i like to hit ctrl+shift+h to get rid of my HUD cuz this game looks so good, but then i can’t see my health and dmg]
Stop demanding Anets response for your unconsidered questions.
It is a whole kitten expansion for you to explore, it is a jungle duh. In multiple zones. In different biomes. In different layers.
Dude did you even read yesterdays blogpost? Adventures are kitten solo content.
Maybe you missed that mastery points will be added to the whole world? I am starting to think your ability to read is the reason for your failure here.
And maybe you missed the new legendaries coming?
And nerfing classes in PvE? Yea its not like everyone are facerolling zerker already, we need to get STRONGER! Not…
Really, the amount of childish dissapointment posts are too kitten high.
Now I can be 100% incorrect
You said it. I agree.
Read my post again Moldur. I’ll assume English is not your first language.
I know everyone has different expectations on what they want in an expansion but for me it breaks down like this.
$60 = 10 new zones worth of content.
$40 = 7 new zones worth of content.
$20 = 4 new zones worth of content. If you got a different opinion fine. Post it up. I’d love to see what your expectations are or if you can just criticize others.
Correct, English is not the first language in Sweden, yet an issue in your grey matter seems to interfere with the content of your own writing.
You assume 1 zone is equivalent to a certain amount of money, I just wanna laugh but it would give you too much attention. Like “zone” is some kind of universal unit of measure.
The community wants good content. If you are after the number of maps, I heard Minecraft has endless amounts at an endless size. My opinion would count into the community’s.
I expect no less than 10 zones for an expansion.
They all don’t need to be as deep as the ones they have shown in trailers though. If they are I suppose 5 would be reasonable. However, I would be disappointed and assume the price would be half that of a larger expansion.
I hope you get dissapointed, saying that you want x and y number of zones just cus you want many is a clear sign that you are spoiled and naive. If you had 1 zone the size of 10, would you still complain? Yes. Why? Because you are obsessed with the number.
The new area size is irrelevant as long as it has high quality and lots of content. They can have a smaller area, yet make it feel bigger than the whole world so far combined. It’s not about the size, it’s how they use it.
Holy cheese balls! I just saw the article on IGN and ran here to see if it was on their website and it isn’t yet. Glad to see there’s a topic about it. Those maps looks sick. The detail is staggering. I need this all now.
New graphic card purchase confirmed.
With the demo being att PAX in 6 weeks I think we are about 6 months away from the release of the expansion. I would assume a closed beta of Heart of Thorns will be in May and keep going to June, open beta in July and the release will be in August or September.
When Colin says that after the demo “things will be happening pretty fast”, I am secure in saying that you are very wrong indeed.
Pretty fast is this spring. period.
Yes, they will probably lock guild halls behind the expansion. But that’s not a bad thing, its like…if I buys an ice-cream and you don’t. If you then try to take some of my sprikles/topping I would slap the kitten out of you. So just buy your own ice-cream so we can both enjoy the same thing =)
Yes and then watch those players leave the game. Guild Halls should not be gated, WvW maps definitely won’t be.
I would be glad to see those cheap people leave right away. If you don’t want to support the game by buying the expansion (which is cheap whatever price they put, if you divide it by your /age, ingame time) then those players are among the people who never bought gems and thinks 300ppl works for free. They are not a major loss. Let them leave.
Btw, those players did like everyone else pay for Guild Wars 2, not Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns. They bought the original game and anything they get beyond that is a generous addition. We have had two living world seasons and two feature packs for free, it is time for those cheap people to stop demanding access to things beyond the original game, we are spoiled by free regular updates, stop taking things for granted and accept the payment when they offer expansions. I do not want anyone to get the expansion content for free, ever.

HoT won`t be released sooner than a half of a year because they didn`t tell us even a price of an expansion
Your argument is invalid. Your statement is therefore invalidated.
Can anyone including developers / staff confirm wether this is true or false ? I am really eager to see if there will be a Collector’s Edition for the Expansion
If they “state” it to be in December, ignore that website and never use it again.
If they “speculate” about it to be in December, just sigh at them for being naive.
Heart of Thorns is going to be released Q4 of 2015, so I’m guessing November.
That’s a lie, and all you got was attention.
I think a deep look at NCsofts forecast for 2015 could hint us the planned release frame
as you can see the forecasted revenue of Guild Wars 2 is dramatically increasing during Q3 2015 (x4 revenue) so thats Jul – sep.
As GW2 was released on 28 aug i think that would be a prestige Date. … i hope that they dont care about prestige dates and release it in early July. .. please ^^
They also could use the 28th April (GW1 Birthdate) as date to start their HoT-Beta (as this is nearly 2 months after PAX East this sounds like a realistic target)
I /cry everytime someone quotes from that report, get your quaggan together and don’t use greedy sources who you quote improperly in NCsofts name.

Like the questions says, do you think prior to release to HOT, ANet should have a big pool of players Fully Beta test the game b4 it’s release? & i don’t mean open week-ends. I mean hardcore beta test.
Playtesters would beta test to check every aspect of the game. Make sure it gives us the WoW factor when it comes out. Would (Pve, WvsW & Spvp) To check balance & exploits & ect.. & especially to fan out whats fun & what’s not fun to play. I mean if there’s some aspect of the game prior to beta test that playtesters comments on some parts of the game that are just simply to dull to play, i mean why not take advantage of that? Give Anet the chance to add, cut or make changes before release to make sure upon release they have a great game.
Any comments?
Too heavy beta-testing results in the players getting “done” with the content before release.
This expansion should be free like other’s mmo …..not payable….
Haha “free like other mmos”, that’s so cheap. Which mmo again?
For everyone linking Concept art and other Art assets, its not a sign of Spears to come…

You been trolled bro.
You just lost the famous last words. Get some real arguments next time, providing more spear concepts doesn’t put the topic off the table.
You mean like the evidence that HAS been provided where they specifically stated it wasn’t happening? That evidence? That irrefutable evidence? It doesn’t apparently work, because you keep arguing with insubstantial dust to back you up. How about, since you’re the one arguing the thing that’s not true, YOU try some actual evidence. You back up your belief with something substantial?
This thread is filled with evidence, you just choose to neglect them. Do you really think we would have this volume of hints (yea keep on calling them coincidences they sure are…) if they had no plans for the spear whatsoever? In that case the spear is a minor loss in comparison to this hinting false advertising.
I didn’t want to jump into this topic… The trailer shows Rytlock wielding a staff in melee combat, watch it frame by frame and that is obvious. However, I found something very important… Rytlock has a Lionguard Polearm in his office in the black Citidel
If you interact with that polearm, you will notice the following, also found @ this wiki link:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Lionguard_Polearm
“The polearm has seen a lot of action, but there’s a thick layer of dust on it.
—> Examine the weapon more closely.
Beneath the dust, there is a small inscription: “To the Winners of the 1320 Wintersday Tournament: Destiny’s Edge. Last contestants standing: Rytlock Brimstone & Garm the wolf.”"So what we can see here is a polearm won by Rytlock, and frequently used by Rytlock. Now Rytlock comes back into action with a new profession, and would it surprise you if I said that dust is soon to be blown away? Guys this is proof Rytlock is proficient with that exact weapon and has been for a very long time. Wouldn’t now be the right time to put that experience into good use?
This has ALWAYS been here. It’s not new. It’s not something they recently added in anticipation of HoT. Always. Just like that shirt is from the original GW, this is from the origin of GW2.
You don’t see the point, do you? It was put there from the beginning because it was planned from the beginning.
Even you should be familiar with the sylvari plans made before release by now, same idea goes here: long term plans eventually put into action.
It was confirmed that there would be NO SPEARS ABOVE LAND. I repeat, NO SPEARS.
No, it was confirmed that there would be no polearms… which is the same thing granted, but the wording was more broad than specifically no land spears.
Polearms and Spears are the same weapon. The weapon type you are calling Spear is labeled Polearm in the game.
The weapon type I am calling Spear is labeled Spear in the game.
