It’s not paying for the expansion that is making people angry. It’s the fact that they crippled and outright removed vanilla content and put it back in the expansion (which you have to pay for) that is making people angry.

Exactly. I paid for vanilla stuff, why take it away from me now? If you want me to buy the expansion, actually make something NEW that is worth the 50 euro and I will buy it. Don’t force me to pay 50 euro to have something that I already paid for with 40 euro that I gave for vanilla. Expansions should be expanding the content, not limiting it. At the moment, I don’t see HoT being worth more than 20 euro, sorry. It brought way too little content for such a big price.

Yes, we did lose it. Also, there are some achievements from back then that you can’t do anymore now. I lost around 20-30ap. No big deal, but still.

I don’t think we will. They messed up and they can’t fix it anymore, all they can do is keep quiet and hope players forget or don’t notice.

Yeah, I know how you feel. The game had immense potential and I really thought it’s going to be a hit. But then Arenanet decided to listen to carebears and casual players, making everything easy and awarding them with achievements(which are a doom of gaming imo, everyone becomes too obsessed doing things they ask instead of just enjoying the game doing what they want to do). Me and my friend have quit 4 months ago and I’m still browsing the forum every now and then to see if the game is improving but by posts like yours I see not only it’s not improving, it’s going even more downhill

I completely agree. They said they will make this an e-sport but since release, pvp made barely any progress. Still no ranking, leagues, streamed tournaments, more modes, 1v1 profession tournaments, nothing :/ I mean, the game is very good but come on, the pvp needs faster development, it’s way behind e-sports like dota. This game really needs more competition, because today, competition is the only thing that keeps online games alive. I’m on a 2 month hiatus from the game, lurking the forums every now and then and hoping for some competitive updates :S

You’re just noob. I played my elementalist, which has the hardest start game I think, all the way to lvl 80 solo. Of course I died here and there, but not that often, never had any problems solo with any content, even killed veterans and their armies alone. Need group only for champions and dungeons. My alt is Warrior and never died with that wtf, they are so easy to play, high dmg high hp.

I think I’m somewhere around 1700, lvl 80 and playing from month after start. Never really cared about achievements

Huge disappointment. After brilliant halloween event and spending almost 4 hours with clocktower, joking with huge amount of people between the runs, I get this one time puzzle a 5 year old could do. Not challenging a bit, did it in 15 mins total. Failed few times only because I didn’t know where to go. The whole event so far was a let down and everything is so easy like it’s made for plants. I’m not having quarter the fun I had with halloween event. I played those almost full time, while I join for this one to do achievements and go back to regular content. I play a little pvp and the music minigame because those are the only fun things and that’s it. Now that whiners got their no brain easy event, I really hope the next event will be for people above 80iq and will require some basic motor skills.

Edit: tbh it should not be this way. Making the carrier drop the gift should be enough. People that do not like PvP such as myself should not be forced into this for the sake of an achievement and title.

1st: you don’t need this for the title
2nd: no one is forcing you to do anything but you. Where does it say you need an achievement or title? There’s an achievement to stop people carrying the gift, those who want to achieve it, they will, those who don’t they won’t. As simple as that, it’s not obligatory for anything.

With the problems WoW has, it is not nearly the mess that GW2 is. I had such high hopes for this game, bought extra character slots, bank slots and bag slots. But the special events are far more annoying than entertaining IMO.

How about you use the time spent whining on improving your jumping skill and mastering the puzzle? This one is ridiculously easy, even my grandpa could do it. If you’re younger than 80 and can’t do this disappointingly easy ice platform then wow, I’d worry more about my motor skills and hand eye coordination than about rewards and achievements in a virtual game. Pvp rankings and detailed statistics I hope

Lol, 2g per hour? :o That’s alot, I’ve been playing from 3rd week after release and I’m sitting at 6g atm. And I think that’s much because I’ve no idea what to spend it on. Take my advice and just play for fun, you don’t need all the legendaries and top gear, I’m doing just fine with rares/couple exotics. They were all drops too, I’ve never spend a single copper for my equip. :*

When you get to lvl 10+ tell me how your chests are.

You might notice that….

1. There is no “increase” or “better” RNG. You’ll get the same amount as normal.
2. You wont get better drops.

No one here has made a strong argument to say that anything HAS increased in higher tiers.

The only things that has been confirmed for high tiers are…

1. Ascended Rings from daily chests.
2. More Fractal Shards per Chest in high lvls.
3. Specific Fractal Skins in lvls 20+ (i think its 20+…)

So if you play for loot, go play lower levels, they are much easier and give better loot apparently so I don’t see where’s the problem?

In the strictest of terms, the number of people who post on the forums is a minority of the game population as a whole. The forums do provide a modest, self-selected sampling of the player population, but so do fansite forums, twitter and facebook.

^^ All of which sites have numerous players complaining about the game…. Why cant you guys just take it from the players themselves…. Do you not think we hear other peoples opinions of the game while in party chat doing an instance/event/ect?

People who enjoy the game, don’t come out and complain about it. Therefore you don’t notice them.

Get it through your heads, the overall reception of guild wars 2 is positive, while the overall feedback is negative. Because people who have a negative opinion are more likely to bring up their real or perceived slights.

This. Those of us who like the game are silent because we don’t have anything to whine about, and instead are playing our game in peace. Hence whiners appear as majority because whiny people are always the loudest.
