Meredy Izumi – 80 Human Elementalist [Aeon]
Alruane – 80 Sylvari Ranger [Aeon]
I noticed that if you don’t kill all the enemies it seems to prevent the dragons from healing. Also, if you stay on the front of the ship they don’t either. However, I couldn’t fully prove this as my team left before we could finish.
It reset every time!!
This dungeon is nearly impossible unless you do the exact thing to prevent it from resetting.
Ok, this is for all those achievement hunter/completionists out there.
I have a couple suggestions regarding the Weapon Master and Slayer lines.
First, I’ll start with Weapon Master.
I suggest that a couple things change.
1. For 5000 kills, we seriously need more points, maybe add more tiers or just increase the points awarded. 11 points for 5000 kills is way too much work for too little reward. Maybe the points don’t have to increase, but instead we get a title? The title can be exactly what the achievement name is, but it would be neat to show off that we actually earned it. Especially for some of the harder to get weapons. If not a title, maybe a unique weapon skin, same weapon to the achievement, that is only attainable from the achievement? Again, would be another way to show off that we actually earned it, and possibly would motivate more players to earn them.
2. These kills are too specific in the way they are earned, making some of them a grind. Most players will naturally get 1-3 or maybe up to 5 different weapons completed just from their normal game play. But some weapons won’t be. Such as the off-hand only weapons: focus, shield, torch and warhorn. The way it the point is earned now, is the player with the weapon that does the final hit, takes the kill, or point. If an enemy’s final hit is from a condition, or any other source, no kill point is awarded. Players who group a lot, get even less kills. It is entirely possible to kill 2 or 3 times, or more, the required 5000 kills. My suggestion: make it so that if a weapon deals direct damage to an enemy during the fight, that weapon gets credit for the kill. The weapon also must be equipped at the end of the fight. Basically, you can’t switch weapons and get credit for all 3 or 4 equipped weapons in a fight, whatever the end equipped weapon is will get the credit. This will speed up the kills a bit and reduce the grinding feeling, and allow players who group, or zerg, to get the kill points for weapon master as well. The only easy way right now to get these kills, is to farm ambient creatures.
My suggestion for the Slayer, and Weapon Master, achievements is to add an infinite counter to it. Basically, like Agent of Entropy. Even if it only rewards 2 points for repeating it, I think it would be fun to see how many kills I actually have.
I really love this area and spend plenty of time listening to their song.
Can we get the entire song the NPCs sing? Its pieced together by several NPCs in the area, and I’d really love to hear the entire thing through!
BTW, I’m pretty sure they’re singing about the loss of Glint.
Third: The new Radiant Vambraces on an Asura Mesmer have a big graphical glitch. It is quite difficult to submit this one through the in-game bug feature due to its short duration. But it happens on illusions and when invisible.
Second: This NPC’s face picture on the UI with the life bar does not match his actual face.
These are a few things that I have noticed on my adventures.
First: When Charr leave footprints in the snow, they’re backwards.
During my weekend, I decided to seek out all of the Aetherblade caches for the achievements. On my travels, I ran into many players in these jumping puzzles or mini dungeons, which was expected. Also, at each cache was a number of players camping the respawns of the Aetherblade Pirates. No big deal, right? I mean, I helped kill the pirates if they were there, collected the cache and moved on. I wasn’t doing any harm.
I was also traveling with a partner, as doing these helps a lot with somebody else.
Until I got to one cache.
As I approached the cache, there was a player standing there spamming his #1 attack. Attacking nothing or while fighting. Both of us attempted to contact this player via /say asking if he was really there or not. After a few moments, there was no reply. So, as most players would do, we reported him for botting. As we walked out, discussing the final cache to collect, the “botting” player replied, rather angrily. He stated that he normally plays with his chat off and does not feel obligated to respond to anybody and then accused us of “abusing” the report feature. He also stated that we would get banned instead of him, for false reports. We assured him that if he wasn’t really botting, then nothing would happen, yet he insisted that we would get banned instead of him. No negative things were said toward him, and we simply warned him of how his actions look. Both of us left shortly after, since we did not want to get into a heated argument that he was trying to initiate.
I am not trying to seek out any sort of revenge or justice or what-have-you. Though he did act extremely suspicious. I am simply sharing my story of what happened between a few players.
I’ve noticed this as well. In Wayfarer Foothills and Snowden Drifts the doesn’t play hardly at all.
But almost anywhere in Ascalon, the music is constantly playing, outside the brand. And it loops between the same songs too often!
That is one of the few in game meta events that is truely terrible. Aside from the constant repetition of the NPCs saying that. Doing any of the fights as “another form” is way too tough. I mean, a crab just don’t move around like I need it to.
Aside from that, there really are only 2 options to solve this. (That we, as players, can do.)
1. Do the event. She’ll shut up for a while.
2. Leave the area.
Obviously one can turn the game volume off, or simply choose to ignore it. This is the option I think mostly players choose. (Though I could be wrong, I personally choose to ignore it and move on.)
I understand it can be a prestigious thing, for bragging rights or whatever. I just think its way over priced. 119g is way more than I, and possibly many other players, have ever had. I do like the T3 armors on certain characters a lot, and would love to get them, but I don’t have that kind of coin!
Especially when Order armor is priced at, just below, 9g.
With 119g, I could gear up several characters in exotic gear from the trading post. -_-;;
Well, while you guys are finding or building a bigger boat. I’ll briefly explain my build.
I was fortunate to not have my build changed at all after the update.
I also run in full berserker gear. Except my armor has Superior Balthazar runes. (I like the precision gain, though the fire buff doesn’t do much. I’ve been looking into changing these out for different precision runes.)
I use dagger/dagger and shortbow. With a sigil of bloodlust in one dagger and sigil of venom in the other, shortbow has sigil of force
And my traits are 10/30/0/0/30
I chose traits that increase initiative gain, and regen. I forget exactly which trait selections I chose, due to being at work. But if you /whisper me in game, I’d be glad to share with you.
The skill slots I use include 1 venom, and 2 signets, though in a group setting, I’ll replace 1 signet with shadow refuge. The elite skill is usually a defensive golem (Asura only obviously.)
This build lasts longer in combat, able to spam skills more, with less down time waiting on initiative. It does require heavy dodging skills, but hits very hard and often.
This is not my build for PvP, I’m still experimenting with that. However, it works great in PvE!
Humans can run away… Ok, Logan joke. But seriously, Humans can can have like more dances or something.
I personally have enjoyed the audio in game, music most of all. This game has lasted the entire time and I’ve had no desire to turn it down/off. Most MMOs don’t even last 1 month.
But, like the rest of you above me, I do find some sound effects to be annoying. I agree with the Mesmer greatsword #1 attack. Though, don’t avoid it, I just don’t like the greatsword in general. I sort of enjoy the newer sound of the necro staff attack, the old one was terrible. And I never understood why sword/greatsword impact sounds like its hitting a bucket or something. It’s a very hollow sound. Either bow sound on Rangers is terrible, doesn’t actually sound like a bow would… Bow’s should have a “twang” sound, not a “kshnk” sound. (pardon the sound descriptions, I’m at work)
And the necro pets make horrible sounds. I believe its the Shadow Fiend that makes the horrible sound. I also know the Bone Fiend is pretty bad. (And I run a full minion lineup on my Necro _ )
I get more annoyed from hearing the same quotes over and over again. (which I won’t state any, cause 99% of them are covered in a different topic.)
I (almost) can’t believe a topic like this actually exists. Playing the game is playing the game, no matter what you do, or where you go.
Instant level 80 is a kittened idea, if you seriously don’t like leveling to 80 on alts, then don’t. Use only one character your entire GW2 life and never level another alt again.
Getting to 80 super fast by crafting does not equal good players. Actually, it means the opposite. And, its quite obvious when players don’t have that much skill when running dungeons. Most classes require the skill learned while playing in PvE to be good at dungeons. (Crazy, how you gotta practice easier PvE to be good at harder PvE.)
I have seen a few of these guilds you speak of. In fact, I was in one shortly after the game first came out. But that guild died down and I sought out another guild. (Being the only active member in a guild is extremely lonely.) And now the guild I’m in is often inactive on weekends, (though members speak of doing guild events on weekends? I’ve never seen them, and that’s when I play most) so lately, I’ve been looking for a secondary guild I can join to feel like part of a community on the weekends.
The problem I’ve had though is nowadays people want 100% representation to their guild. I don’t want to leave my friends, but want some people to talk and interact with when my friends are offline. I don’t have a problem switching which guild I’m representing if the other guild needs me for something. But I also don’t want to completely drop my main guild for a different one….
“New”? I have been running that build for a long time. Like, since game release. I like it, since it regens initiative faster and has some really nice crit bonus.
So, it repeats twice? lol when I first read it, I just glazed over it, thinking it was two different recipes.
So does this mean I’ll get 2 Dragon’s Revelry Starcakes?
Also, since I bought the 2000gem option, will I get multiples? Though, if its the recipe, dunno why I’d want more than one……
I have been considering buying them. Possibly even more than one. Of course, it all depends on how they look on my characters. But since its either 800 gems for a new appearance armor set, or 119g for some rare armor that I’ll use for appearance anyway. 800 gems is a lot cheaper =(
Honestly, from what I could read and understand, it seems like you’d enjoy Skyrim or Oblivion or something. In those games you can equip any armor type you like along with any weapon combination, and use spells!
I’m not going to argue some of the points you made, or tried to make. I do agree with some, and I hope for future updates, I would like to use different weapons on the current professions. Dual swords would be fun on a ranger, or adding rifles to a thief.
It would also be neat if we could use a different armor weight class than the one we’re stuck with. So, wearing medium/heavy armor on an elementalist, of course, it would be appearance only. Having armor as appearance only armor across the classes “shouldn’t” be too difficult, I imagine. But I also don’t know what it takes to make that happen.
Overall, I’m neutral to the original post. And honestly, it just sounds like you’re complaining about a game you haven’t played much of, or chosen to enjoy.
I can honestly say, the only thing I’m really happy about is that torment was added to Skale Venom. Which means I’ll be using that instead. Otherwise, I’m somewhat upset about what changes were made.
Honestly though, I’ll have to log in and see how they make a difference on my current build and play style.
I’m upset at this as well. I loved launched the cluster at 1200 before I ran into 900 range. Gave like an extra burst of damage or something.
The ONLY thing I could possibly think that would even remotely justify dropping the range to 900 would be to reduce the maximum “flight” time of the bomb. Making it slightly more effective in dps. But, even at 900 range, it takes too long to land and explode.
Another option that currently already exists in the game is to stow your weapon. By default the command is not bound to a key. But, if you bind it to a key, you can stow your weapon mid combat, stopping auto attack, and can run away.
Mounts do not belong in this game, not now, not ever.
I personally hate mounts, in any MMO. They become the obsession. Instead of people trying to get better gear for their character, or progress toward something. They persue to get a different mount. I know, its the same as persuing a set of armor or weapon.
There are a couple reasons why I hate mounts so much. One: I like to play small characters/races, and when I group with larger races on mounts, they completely block my vision. A Norn or Charr on a mount will be HUGE, preventing me from seeing anything. The crowd around the bank or trading post NPCs is bad enough, add mounts and you won’t even be able to see anything in there.
Two: I personally like the running animations of most of the races in GW2, the experience would totally be destroyed if I had to stare at the kitten of a horse or something instead. So as much as anybody else, I do enjoy making my character look good, but to me, mounts do not look good at all, especially the rear end.
Three, and this goes with what others have said: The game already has a lot of waypoints spread out throughout the map. They aren’t that expensive to use. And honestly, the maps aren’t that huge to make running across them a huge chore. Even with no speed buff, running across a map only takes a minute or two.
Finally: Combat WOULD NOT WORK right with the current way combat is done in GW2. The player needs to readily be able to move, in all directions. Four legged creatures don’t walk backwards that well, and don’t even ask about sideways/strafing. Dodging would be out of the question. Many weapons would not even be an option for mounted combat. A dagger/dagger thief can’t do any attacks while mounted. Maybe ranged weapons could work, but it would still limit the ability to strafe around.
Mounts work in other games, like WoW or EQ2 where combat is stationary and moving interrupts you, and the combat animations don’t matter. But GW2 requires heavy movement to succeed in tough fights and mounts don’t have the agility required for this movement.
Now, I know, most of what I said was purely opinionated, but other things were not.
Finally, I’m 99% sure that there are no mounts in GW1. While I did not spend that much time in GW1 as a lot of other players, I don’t recall seeing anything, anywhere about mounts. Correct me if I’m wrong. So if the first game doesn’t have them, why does the second need them?
Ok, I searched and searched and couldn’t find this.
So, I am one of those casual players. I play about 2 hours on weekdays, but can play my entire weekend away. I am also one of those players who likes to make my character look good, or pretty, or handsome, or…etc, (you pick the wording) and one of the nicer looking armors is the cultural armor set. I actually pick a race/profession based on what their cultural armor looks like. And in most cases, tier 3 looks the best.
The problem I have is the cost.
Tier 1 costs 2g88s
Tier 2 costs 7g10s
Tier 3 costs 119g
Anybody else see the HUGE jump? Now, I am in no way asking for any of these to be handed to me. But I would like the cost to be lowered, specifically on the T3 set.
I have nearly 900 hours logged across all of my characters, and I don’t even have 100g!
The biggest problem is that this armor is Rare, not Exotic. Why am I putting down 119g for Rare armor, when I can do a few runs in any dungeon explore mode and get Exotic armor? Ok, so more than a few, but it’s still a lot cheaper, faster and easier to get the required dungeon tokens than 119g. In fact, even after all those runs, you’ll earn money. But not even half of what you’d need for the 119g.
Now, if the price was somewhere near what the Order armor cost: 8g88s. It would be reasonable. Order armor is also Rare, so it has the same stat values.
So my suggestion is, can we get a lower price on the T3 armor? Like even if it was in the 20g range. Something that’s more reasonable of a price for Rare armor, especially when there are other options that are much cheaper.
(I’m not going to mention any trading post prices, I know those are even lower in some areas.)
Finally, if it’s too much to ask to lower the price, then can some of the players please tell me what I can do to earn money faster? The way I earn money currently consists of: selling gear I can’t use or don’t want (I still salvage rares though) and selling any crafting material I have over 250 of, and selling event RNG boxes. During the Dragon Bash so far, I have made about 3 or 4 gold just from selling the dragon coffers. But, in previous events, the RNG boxes weren’t so plentiful, and currently, the sell price of coffers is gradually decreasing.
I really want the T3 armors!!!!
If anything, some of the professions need different skills. The elementalist #1 skill attacks WAY TOO SLOW compared to say a thief or warrior, when the damage is roughly the same.
I think this would be a neat idea. Adding such challenges for explore mode. It would give more incentive to complete all of a path of a dungeon, defeating all the enemies, vs running through killing only the boss.
Like, it would have to be a bonus vs pentalty scale. So like, there is a pentalty if a boss or event is skipped (thinking of the bridge in CoF p1, so tired of “I think we have more spies”)
On the flip side, if this was implemented, it could possibly be much harder to get a PUG for any dungeon. Like, if dying was a penatly, then people wouldn’t want to run a risk of somebody dying and losing the bonus. So maybe the penalties would have to be which content was actually completed in the dungeon, instead of deaths or downed state.
But as for bonuses, I think it would be neat if there was something. Like, kill over XX of enemies as a team, more than what’s usually skipped.
Basically, I hate doing dungeon runs that skip half the dungeon. Particularly CoF p1. I understand it takes extra time, but its such a waste to leave things alive! It also makes it harder for players who aren’t as experienced, since not everybody is capable of running through the enemies and not dying. Which can drag down the entire team.
Yes, these enemies do appear. But from what I’ve seen, there are several players around to stop them before they can really do anything. And in story missions, you fight them with a whole bunch of NPCs, so they may or may not be targeting you. Even the couple veterans that are fought didn’t target me when I was fighting it.
I also imagine these were dumbed down due to being a solo story mission.
Now, I do expect to see them toughened up after the new content is released. Especially in the new dungeon!
So don’t be so disappointed yet, we’ve likely yet to see what they’re really capable.
Well, I’m with the topic, asking for better titles. But not with the original post. I did play GW1, not nearly as much as I could have, or should have to earn any HoM rewards.
But some more titles would be fun.
Though, with most all living story updates, they’ve added titles. I think only the dragon bash hasn’t added any. So, I expect to see one or two with the next update.
Honestly though, given enough time and we’ll have all sorts of really cool titles.
when you start using exclamations like “bookah,” “excelsior,” and “my ears!”
I am another one of those players who likes to go help, if possible. Honestly, the only times I won’t go help at an event or something is if I haven’t explored there yet. Otherwise, I’ll keep going back to help if there are players needing help.
As for the “ty” I do appreciate getting it, but I also enjoy helping players. So it doesn’t totally bother me if I don’t get it.
I usually always “ty” players reviving me or something, except in scenarios where we’re all dying/reviving in dungeons or something.
Also, I wish I could type and run faster, cause I’m one who will go out of my way to revive a downed player, and I wish I could tell to them to stay till I get there, but alas, I’m not always fast enough and they WP away before I get there.
I’m on Crystal Desert btw, always looking to help
I too am more curious, than worried, about the changes that are coming up. I have a very unique, and possibly even one of a few, who use this build on a thief. But I don’t think it will require me to get new gear for my character. I’ll most likely just have to choose different traits, at most, retrait my character.
I highly doubt they will drastically change things in such a way that make my build unplayable.
Honestly, if they add any ascended armor that goes with a certain build, it would be asking too much for a player to invest all the time and money into it all, then for them to take it all away from an update that changes a few “less than desireable traits.”
Even with the current time it takes to get full exotic gear, I don’t think they’d change that too much.
I’m not saying it hasn’t happened, or won’t happen. (As it has before, not that I’ve seen in GW2, but in many other MMOs.) But at this point in time, I don’t see it happening for GW2.
(I don’t find these annoying, but couldn’t find the favorite quote board)
One that I heard recently and have come to enjoy is in Lion’s Arch near the central plaza.
Asura: I’m making an all Asura and Norn guild and I’m calling it “Brains and Brawn”
Norn: You should make an all Sylvari and Golem guild and call it “Sticks and Stones”
I LOL every time I hear that!
Some of my other favorite lines are the “Your momma’s IQ is so low…” jokes. I go back there all the time just to hear them, and to check on Rubi of course. =)
The Captain Penzen song in Moriarty’s Hold in Bloodtide Coast.
The Skritt arguing about beer and work at Fionnghuala Scratch in Timberline Falls.
And the quaggan song at the jumping puzzle in Mellagan’s Grotto in Timberline Falls.
There are a lot more, as I do tend to spend a fair amount of time hanging out in various areas just listening to the dialogue, but those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.
So I know my comment doesn’t exactly go with the most recent posts, it does go with the original post.
I have at least one of every race, 2 of races that I liked more. I had to, in order to make all 8 classes. Well, I gotta say, I like the Asura the most and Charr the least. My first character was an Asura thief, and I love her to pieces! I play her every day and am working on (very slowly) a legendary. I love the way she flips around during combat, the running and stopping animations, even the jumping animations. The next race I like is Sylvari, but that discussion is for a different topic. By the time I got to a Charr, the last class I needed was a warrior. And I have to say, I have a really hard time playing that character. I don’t know if its because he’s a warrior or a Charr. I mean, I do like the charr, mostly I like how they run on all fours. But I just have a really hard time playing him. A while back, I made and tested each class in PvP as an Asura, tried out all the weapon skills and several of the traits, mostly to see what the animations looked like. And I immediately fell in love with the Asura warrior weapon animations, the way he flipped around with the axe, or spun around with the mace. It was quite an entertaining sight to be seen!
So, I’ve been considering making an Asura warrior to replace my Charr warrior.
I do want a Charr character though, but so I’ll just have to spend time with it in PvP on each class to figure out which animations I like the best on the Charr….
In the end, Asura are awesome!!!!
I would like to see the conversation scenes again, with my character talking to the NPCs, like from story missions. It really felt like my character was making a difference when she was speaking back to the NPCs.
But otherwise, I really love the living story and look forward for whatever else they have in store!
Hello all. First and foremost, I already have a main guild which I have many friends in and will be representing most of the time. So, for all those guilds that want people to exclusively represent their guild, I’m sorry, I’m not for you.
Now that we got that out of the way, let me tell a bit about myself.
I reside in the Crystal Desert, I have 3 level 80s, a thief, elementalist and ranger. The thief is my main and is geared the best, the others are geared well. I also have the other 5 classes, but they are below 80. I enjoy playing mostly PvE, I’d say 90% PvE, 10% WvW and PvP. I am extremely familiary with PvE, love helping new players, or any player really. I love running dungeons. I am currently looking to achieve the “Dungeon Master” title, but love doing any dungeon in general.
My current play schedule only allows a couple hours on week days, with weekends off, which I tend to spend most of my time playing. I live in the Pacific time zone. I work during the day, play in the evenings.
The main reason I am looking for a secondary or even a tertiary guild is because I am a very social creature. And sometimes when I play, my guild is a ghost town. So, during these times, I would like to have additional players to talk with. To enhance my game experience.
If at anytime I am online, but not representing, please whisper me if you need an additional player for a dungeon run, or even just a partner to explore the map with. I will switch over and be glad to join, unless of course I am previously engaged.
If you need any further information, or have any questions. Please reply to this post, or send me an in-game mail. If you would like me to join the ranks of your guild, please send me an invite and I will review it when I am online next.
(FYI, I am at work right now, so anything in-game will have to wait several more hours.)
I agree with you brian. I really love this game. I’ve been following it long before launch and been playing since Beta event 1. (Though I was forced to take breaks here and there for work…)
I also have played other MMOs; (GW1, EQ2, DCUO, FFXI, FFXIV (pre ARR) TSW, RO, to name a few) And GW2 has the best combat and questing system I’ve seen. I love how the game does not rely on the “holy trinity” of tank/dps/healer classes. But allows the player to build a character any way he or she chooses. I also love how there is no “traditional” quest system. IE: talk to NPC, accept quest, go kill ## of XX enemy, return to NPC to collect reward – rinse and repeat. I got SO VERY tired of that quest sytem. The maps change based on player interraction with doing dynamic events or not. Changing the way exploration is done.
I do agree there is room for improvement, but I also feel like these actions are being taken into consideration. And I trust they will be implemented in the future.
I have thoroughly enjoyed the living story. I love having new achievements to earn each month, and trying to complete them all before they’re taken away. While I haven’t found any of the rare RNG drops, I did manage to get many of the things I wanted. I look forward to each new update to see what’s next, and hope that the living story will eventually lead to fighting more dragons!
In my opinion, out of the two, they both require some learning. Gotta spend time with either one to find out which play style works best. However, I like them both a lot.
Engineer is fun cause of the different weapons that can be equipped mid battle and change things up. Or throw down a turret or two to add an extra target and extra damage. In PvE, enemies will attack your turrets, adding some extra survivability. In WvW, the turrets get smashed, sometimes rather quickly, by AOEs. So they aren’t used as often, but if you can make it work out, then try it.
Mesmer can have a variety of play styles, from melee to ranged. Many offensive and defensive skills create or leave behind an illusion or clone. Creating a lot of confusion. You’ll have to learn how to control the illusions/clones for the best effect. But in general, a skilled mesmer is a very tough class to beat, in either PvE or PvP.
Both classes have a very good variety of conditions, and build types that allow for different play styles.
Everybody is way to quick at jumping to conclusions with this condition. First off, like what was said in an earlier post, thieves only have bleed and poison. (poison wasn’t mentioned, but I do believe it still counts as a condition) Second, nobody knows where or how this condition will be used with thieves. Which weapons will include it, or which traits or skills have it. It could only appear on a shortbow, which tends to be one of the less popular weapons used.
A thief which includes torment, may not be so good at stealthing, and vice versa. Finally, if they are going to add torment, they will also add a way to defend against it. So all of the elementalists should stop crying till you actually see how it works.
Also, I personally like this new condition. I can see how it would be usefull in PvP, WvW and even PvE. Granted, the enemies don’t run so much in PvE. There are times when an enemy is nearly defeated and it turns tail and runs, I don’t know about anybody else, but to me, this is extremely annoying. Or, when fighting a boss while kiting, if the enemy uses melee attacks, it will give chase. This condition can be put to a very good use in PvE.
As for PvP or WvW, torment (and the whole update) might make more defensive builds, on different classes, seem like a better option. Being able to stand your ground while fighting against a thief, mitigating the torment damage.
Apparently, not many people use the fiery axe. But I do, I love it actually. Just wish it either had more charges, or the auto #1 attack didn’t take charges. Or less.
On my elementalist, I use the fiery axe, greatsword and lightning hammer a lot. Not a fan of the bow, since it feels slower than a longbow (ranger) and I don’t like how long the arrow shower immobilizes me. I’ve always thought it would be really helpful if the conjured weapons were like the engineer kits, toggle it on use it for a while, toggle it off. Obviously, this would make them over powered a bit, so maybe reduce the damage buff? Or just increase the charges, or reduce the uses from auto attacks.
I use p/p sometimes. Depends on the situation. Usually, I use d/d and shortbow. Also, I’m not one of those thieves that rely on stealth, so the lack of stealth skills from p/p doesn’t matter.
p/p is great if you need to do burst damage on a single target, with the ability to interrupt and blind. The problem I have is the #1 attack is relatively weak, and #3 takes too much initiative. #2 is nice for extra damage, but can be costly as well. It is a much better weapon for PvE vs a single target than in PvP. But for multiple targets, shortbow is a much better ranged weapon.

Not possible.
Even a £2500 (~$3500) like my own cant get GW2 to run that high FPS in wvw battles. Its the fault of the GW2 game engine, its thread restricted meaning it runs mainly on single thread performance. The reason cpu’s nowerdays are multi core/threaded is becouse a single core can never be strong enough to do the job of 4 cores. Therefor GW2’s engine gains very little from having many cores available and it wont use them al lto their fullest, hence why even a 3930k at 4.6ghz can only manage 20-25 fps in BIG wvw zergs.
A $1000 will build u a good gaming PC but it is by no means a high enough budget for a top end rig.
I know it is possible, because I have it. My system is roughly the same as yours:
i7-3930K 3.2GHz
EVGA GTX690
Asus P8Z77 motherboard
1000W PSU
2x 256 GB SSD
2x 3TB HDD
Creative Recon3D
32GB DDR3 1600MHz Quad Channel memory
46" 1080p/24 LEDTV
I can run in 3D mode with 24/25 FPS (take note that is the highest FPS I can get while in 3D mode due to the Hz, the FPS also does not drop below that.)
But I have lately been running in fullscreen window mode, due to a second monitor connected. But my frames are always 60-100+ I’ve never seen anything below 60 frames, even in the largest of WvW battles.
I play every day cause I love the game. I’ve been here since beta and totally loved every minute of it! I’ll admit, I did take about a 2-3 month break due to travelling, but now that I’m home every day, I play every day.
The combat feels good, the way combat should feel. Leveling isn’t a grind, and though farming for craft supplies can feel that way. I still do it.
I love trying new strategies on different classes. Hop into PvP for a few rounds, or maybe scout the maps in WvW.
I don’t have as many hours as some players out there, (around 800) but I still play every day. At the very least to get my laurel. Weekends I spend most of my time playing. I just can’t get enough!
I’d also like to mention that I really have a good time with my guild and probably wouldn’t be playing as much without them. Even though the weekends its a ghost town.
Golem chess is fun for doing that heart. Otherwise, like the others said, it needs to be more complex, or even on a larger playing field.
It’s just like the whack-a-mole in Diessa Plateau
From my experience, I know there are a few things that cause the enemy to target you more.
I play a thief a lot, so I’ve learned to dodge to survive. But sometimes I do pull the aggro, usually when I do a really high critical hit or get too close. So I know that pulling aggro has something to do with how much damage you’re doing and how close you are. Also, I know that certain actions can increase or decrease aggro. Actions that will increase aggro also include reviving a downed player. To decrease aggro, dodging helps a lot, if they can’t hit you, they give up after a short time and move on to something different. Stealth helps, but not everybody has that option. My best advice, is if you’re taking all the hits and can’t keep up, then dodge away, switch to a ranged weapon for a bit, then after they switch targets for a bit, switch back to your melee.
I have at least 1 of each class, and this is the strategy I use if I start to die and can’t heal up. It works well in most cases. Of course, sometimes they have a vandetta against you, so running away doesn’t always work.
I bought it from Directsong. Waited about a week maybe. I don’t really remember the time frame because I bought it right after it was first available. But I don’t recall waiting long at all.
I agree, especially with how few skills there are. 5 weapon skills, 1 healing, 3 utility, 1 elite. While it does add up to more than GW1 had, (which is 8 I believe) these skills vary in use and purpose. With most all skills having some sort of cooldown, its basically the same as having some sort of energy cost. Instead of waiting for more energy, you wait a few seconds for the skill to be ready again.
Besides, the one class that has an “energy pool” plays differently. The thief can do as many skills as he/she needs as long as there is initiative. It adds a different strategy than just waiting for cooldowns. Spam your skills fast, then wait for initiative, or use them a bit more sparingly for longer fights. I use initiative fast when wielding duel daggers, but use it slow when using a shortbow.
And for the record, warriors adrenaline is not an energy pool. Adrenaline builds in combat and drains out of combat. Adrenaline allows for an extra skill based on how full it is. Calling adrenaline an energy pool is the same as calling a necro’s life force an energy pool.
In addition, it would also be nice if we could dye our back item and underclothes. After the Southsun events, I was jealous of all the NPCs swimming in their different colored suits, some even had different suits!

I dunno if this has been suggested or not, there are far too many posts to read through them, so I will suggest this anyway.
I would love to have native controller support. I don’t want to download a third party program to use a controller, it doesn’t feel right, or respond like I want it to. I understand that using the mouse is still somewhat required for things like talking to NPCs, using the trading post, crafting, etc. But using a controller for combat would feel so much more natural to me.
Another thing that would be great is in game voice chat. Preferably for use in groups or even guild.
With these 2 improvements, I could sit back on my couch and play, and only have the mouse to my side to use to click things like my bag or hero screen, or whatever.
One other thing, that isn’t an in game suggestion, rather a game or system/console suggestion. Have you ever considered porting this game to the PlayStation 4? It would open up the possibility of even more players. According to the Sony reps, PC games will be easy to port to the PS4, so I was wondering if the idea ever crossed any minds. And if so, will this be something to look forward to in the future?
