Just so you know blurred frenzy does A LOT more damage in the guild hall than it does in WvW. They buffed it to deal double damage in PvE which translates over to the guild hall. I duelled a friend of mine like you are here and I was seeing 8k+ blurred frenzies with no damage mods while in WvW it would be about half that.

Edit: Before someone takes that to mean anything like “Feint exploited” or whatever moronic rubbish people on the internet come up with I’m not, just pointing out a few of the one shots with blurred frenzy wouldn’t have done as much damage. Think mental anguish is also higher in the guild hall btw if he was running that instead of his usual insp/illu/chrono build.

Yep I am aware! And actually pointed this out in the video!, but as you pointed out yourself, that don’t take away front feints skill! And he actually said we should do it in PvP because of that before we did the duels, but I said it was okay anyway!

This video has been a pain in the kitten So much kitten has went wrong while making this from my editing software crashing multiple times, to it refusing to upload. However, it’s finally here, so I hope you find it entertaining.

I make a lot of mistakes in these fights and really don’t play to my usual potential, that’s not to take away from feint’s skill of course as he is the best chornomancer I’ve fought and I’m sure even if I played it perfectly I’d still lose. But hopefully you can learn from the mistakes I made, and I hope watching me fail/rage is entertaining!

I always use Hidden Thief and with the right timing you can use CnD+Steal with Hidden Thief so if you miss the backstab you get about 6 – 7 seconds of stealth

But hitting a moving target with CnD and steal alone has got a timeframe of maybe 0,3 seconds, it’s 0,1 if you try to combine hidden killer, CnD and steal.

Also that fight required a lot f fading in and out due to the sheer amount of condi pressure they was putting out and the simple fact I was roaming with a thief, because thiefs jump in and out of fights a lot I have to do the same when I’m with them or i risk taking all the focus, something I wouldn’t have been able to do be 3 condition players with the minimal cleanse I had on!

So, since I have posted this builds video before but it got lost when I was hacked, I decided to remake it, however I’m sure most of the people on this forum are familiar with the build already, however, there’s a chance a few are not, so I’d figure I’d go ahead and share it! (Plus I like views..sue me :P)

Also, with the expansion and balance update around the corner I’m dropping this build video at a horrible time, but, what I can say is all the changes we currently know about coming up in the next balance patch will not effect the build in anyway, and in fact, they will only make it stronger due to the upcoming nerfs to certain things like condition builds and deathly chill, but do bare in mind there is a small small chance anet could nerf certain aspects of the build, due to the way they might interact with the weaver traitline, although unlikely, it is still a possibility, so bare that in mind!
When it comes to th expansion, while we can’t be 100% certain this build will still have a place, id like to think it will, and will do my best to make it viable in respects to the new elite specs!

Curious around 0.55 you instantly remove multiple conditions without using skills, I was expecting the see the animation for cleansing fire but I did not :P. Other than that those are some nice tips. I just consider Reaper scissor to my paper most of the time because of the corruption skills. Seeing a Berserker dual would be nice. Its mostly about dodging the double stuns from shield slam and headbutt, which leads into their made damage combo. Reaper and the Berserker are the 2 classes I do not have a good chance to win against.

It was my cleansing fire proc and a dodge into water for the evasive arcane cleanse! I actually want to do a berserker duel next, hopefully I can get vaanns to duel more or obindo, but they have both refused me in the past

Why is he not using Axe/dagger or axe focus with GS. He’s just face tanking. Also duels with reapers consist of reapers with full Death shroud, so the fight should be different yield way different results. That’s why anet has moas or white mobs for reapers or thieves to kill. Same with DH judge ports. Nice moves but your friend is not running or playing like a 3k roaming wvw NA roamer would play. But I like your ele moves!! Very nice!

Every time I make a video and post it I always get folks telling me that it would be different on NA, when I actually have an NA account myself and I notice no difference, although you’re welcome to find me some decent NA reapers to duel!

Regarding the shroud thing, it’s considered “polite??” for a reaper to start with only half shroud in duels, much like a thief would start with no stolen item, or a warrior wouldn’t start with full adrenaline. At least that’s how it’s always been for us guys in the duelling scene over here!

I’ve been using Paladins amulet myself, with strength rune’s and battle+energy sigil, I actually really like it. You lack recovery tho with 0healing power, menders works well with the same setup to, you have some really nice recovery then, but are susceptible to thiefs, I change now and then depending on the enemy comp

hey guys, its been awhile! i stopped playing the game for awhile (5weeks) and finally had the time/interest to come back and play again! all these clips were from my first night back, i am still pretty rusty so the game play might leave something to be desired, but i hope its entertaining none the less!

for the past 5 weeks now i have had 2-3 second skill delay on updraft and ride the lighting only, all my other skills are fine and my ping stays at around 60-80, i don’t experience any other kind of lag or skill delay in the game except with these two skills. i was hoping it would just fix itself in time, but its been that long now it doesn’t seem like its going to.

if anyone has any insight on what might be causing this, or how to fix it, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hey man! Looks good! However the stat increase is that minor you won’t really see any difference in the builds survival or damage, what setup you run comes more down to what armor pieces you have access to, long as your hitting those general benchmarks it’s all good!

For the past 3days now I’ve had this issue where my skills sometimes don’t activate when I click them whilst I’m in combat, resulting in me having to click them at least 5times.

At first I thought it might be due to internet speeds but after running some speed tests my internet speeds seem to be fine and stable, and my in game ping is at 60-70 at all times.

I primarily play WvW so I put it down to skill lag but after testing this outside of WvW in basically empty PVE maps the same issue still occurs. I’ve noticed it tends to primarily effect updraft and ride the lighting (I play D/D ele) but can effect all other skills randomly as well.

If anybody has any insight on what this might be caused by and how I might be able to fix it, it would be greatly appreciated.

That’s why i’m in favor of removing downstate entirely from WvW. You totally deserved to win that fight, but they kept ressing.

While I agree downstate should be removed since it would reward skill over numbers, this particular situation was my fault, I should have noticed the engi res’ing the reaper sooner, and when I did finally notice and saw that he was so close to being res’d I should have just finished the thief making the fight a 1v2 again. I could have probably stopped that res if I didn’t swap out of fire into water while trying to stomp the thief locking myself out of any cleave I have, Soon as I did that it wasn’t possible to stop him.

I think in EU WvW the best elementalists are Seven, Gokil and me, in no particular order. What makes it even cooler is that we all play very different builds at a very high level.

I don’t think I’ve seen any other ele that’s caught my eye in WvW. This excludes zerging eles btw. Anyone can be good at that.

I’ve tried Judging a topic like this one before, how I rank vs other known ele’s etc, but it isn’t possible. for one Ele vs Ele is in a really weird spot.

when it comes to D/D it’s very reliant on how each of you have your gear setup so you can’t really judge whose best by dueling. Unless the skill difference is insanely different Ofc. I’ve personally never lost to another D/D ele 1v1, but I have stalemated vs a few when they run a rather sustain orientated setup.

D/D vs S/F is so one sided that it isn’t even funny. S/F ele lacks the sustained damage to down a D/D ele, it’s to easy for D/D to recover from there burst. While a D/D ele can almost 2shot. If not can 2shot a S/F ele.

Then ofc there’s healbot ele. What can be said about that, endless fight.

and finally there’s D/D vs condition Elementalist. Condition ele’s are that tanky that I can’t down them, I’ve dueled some that never even dodge (looking at you broski! ;D) and just face tank all my damage. There’s basically nothing you can do to down these guys, you could land all your burst everytime and there able to heal up through it. I could stall this fight forever by kiting/waiting on my cleanse cd’s but I just get bored and end up letting myself die by going balls to the wall.

So then you look at it from who consistently wins more vs other proffesions. But if your both not dueling the same guy how do you know the skill level is the same. Not to mention some players are just naturally better vs some proffesions, for instance I suck pretty hard vs mesmers a lot of the time because I lack the personal focus in long fights where my opponents stealth a lot, I get bored and can no longer focus on my screen fully and all the flashy kitten! However I’d say I’m very good at fighting berserkers where as I know a lot of ele’s struggle with them. So if one ele can beat mesmers but can’t berserkers, is he better then me? No idea. This topic simply can’t be judged, there’s way to many variables!

Like others have mentioned in this thread, we don’t think this would be a healthy feature for WvW. Many players will not participate in WvW if they don’t see a commander tag, and we try to avoid adding features that can be used to exclude players.

I don’t really feel like disputing all of this although the argument itself seems rather silly considering the position warrior is in. However I did want to just jump in here and comment on what you said about Elementalist, as a ele main myself I can assure you what you said simply isn’t true and you make the issue sound a lot worse then it is in your post.

So first off let’s look at the meta ele build, this being the support D/F tempest, 80% of these Elememtalists run full shouts for maximum support for there group, which means they have no lighting flash (the port you was referring to) they also have no mobility skills as main hand dagger offers none and neither does off hand focus, this means there only mobility would be permanent swiftness, something a warrior should have no issue keeping up with thanks to rush and your own swiftness (that’s assuming your running mace in your other hand and not sword which offers even more mobility) however some of these ele’s might run lighting flash which is a 40second cd 900range port (it can be trained for a lower cd but that’s not the case with this build) so in conclusion other then a few specific spots the 900 range port is able to port up (if there even running it) then warrior has no issue keeping up with a meta Elementalist, unless he’s a complete welly and wastes his mobility while within 100 range.

Ok so onto the next build, this one isn’t nearly as common as the previous build or its variants. S/F Elementalist, this is the most mobile of all the Ele builds thanks to its rather high access to super speed, Warriors will have a hard time catching this build if it doesn’t want to be caught, however, if they choose to run its very likely they won’t get you down, this build relies on high burst, something warrior is very good at negating for starters. So you won’t catch this build if it don’t want to be cuaght, but it also won’t down you if it’s not engaging you fully as its bursts relies on getting in close proximity to a warrior. This is when it gets abit more interesting, this build typically runs full cantrips, and traits them for lower cd’s, so mistform(cd 42seconds)armour of earth(cd 40seconss) and lighting flash(cd 32seconds), so when you take into account the low cd’s of Warriors stuns and the fact a S/F ele has to get in moderate range to do real burst a warrior should have no issue locking a S/F ele down once there longish cd’s are up considering the cd’s of warriors cc’s, you should have no trouble stun locking a S/F ele and if they are playing cautious you really shouldn’t go down to them with your defensive capabilities. This is all ofc assuming the two players are of equal skill. Maybe I strayed a little off point with this one in regards to your post as yes if they are cautious they can leave and come back but you shouldn’t lost to them if they do so.

Now let’s talk about another build, D/D Elementalist, this is the one I myself run, but it’s a very uncommon build nowdays, it’s sustained mobility is rather shoody much like the D/F Elementalist, however we do have ride the lighting on offhand dagger which is a 30second cd 1200 range mobility skill, this skill can be interupted however, so you can stop it, unlike Druids staff 3 skill for instance, we also run full cantrips just like S/F Elementalist so we also have a 32second cd 900range port, so maybe if your running mace/gs we can leave the fight assuming we don’t use both these skills in our rotations to engage and burst (like a D/D ele should do) but we simply leave the unable to down you, so again you lose nothing, and with the exact same cd’s as S/F ele the same situation applies, you can easily cc us once the cd’s are spent, negating our kiting, (lighting flash isn’t a stun break), so basically we won’t kill you if we have to keep kiting and if we don’t you will eventually land a cc chain and kill us, once again assuming the skill is equal.

A lot of these fights change even more once you throw in sword which others war another good mobility skill. So basically there’s a few non meta builds that are not very common that can reset vs a war in specific circumstances but they gain nothing from doing so. And the most common meta build Elementalist has is unable to kite a warrior atall.

I know it’s not something you mentioned but D/D ele is also a viable option to run in WvW it’s great for solo roaming and also offers some good group support, and if your playing with a Zerg and want to run full frontline support all you have to do is swap your offhand dagger to a focus and change your food really, you can also viably slot a staff and still do good damage with D/D gear, you can find my particular build here https://youtu.be/BXEE02wsZBQ also feel free to message me ingame any time if you need help or want to discuss things in more depth!

i just wanted to jump in here and point out that a lot of people seem to be forgetting about the changes to every other proffesion since HoT when talking about D/D Elementalist, as a long time D/D ele player I can guarantee you that even if celestial amulet was brought back D/D ele would not be op, Simply due to the fact that classes like Condi berserkers, Reapers, Daredevil’s etc all can shut down a D/D ele pretty effectively if played correctly, Daredevils can completely shut down a D/D ele with headshot+PI after they have used there (long-ish) Cd’s, eg armour of earth and mistform. So a +1 from a thief in a pvp match would quickly remove a D/D ele. and that’s just 1 example. Besides, the general power creep in HoT would mean D/D ele would not be able to sustain is self no way near aswell as they used to be able to. Anyway, that’s just my 2cents on how D/D ele would look somewhat in this meta.

I do however think celestial would become an issue on proffesions like Druid, Mesmer and scrapper. So despite the fact celestial would be fine on D/D I feel like other proffesion a would be OP with it.

Here are some classic ones from the last 2-3 years I’d spammed here. They are viable but no you ele core rotations very please. I do rotations in all aspects of the game and if a havoc team like XT. Who alone are great but as a team of 3-4 very strong due to build compositions will shred you to death with war condi, tempest healing their team and other hijinks.

Here is a generic fun start bruiser D/D ele core fun for those old ele users via 2014-2015 core ele hijinks from spvp to wvw and yes fire trait was nerfed via 3 might for 20 seconds per cantrips used and burn durations and blind cool down rates, auras nerfed, vigor regen in core arcane nerfed, water healing condi and boon duration nerfed and not brought up to current meta in wvw and spvp standings.

ok so this build invests way to much in sustain. i feel like i covered why 300-400healing power is the right amount for a d/d ele earlier on, so ill ignore that for now but, your crit is way to low, espcially since you are running fire line, you rely on a heavy hitting burst, especially to down a lot of stuff in this meta as they are able to reset so easily vs a d/d ele, sustained damage wont cut it anymore, couple that with the low amount of power and you simply wont do enough damage to down alot of builds, berserkers, druids, scrappers, condi chorno’s, condi thiefs etc etc, and while you have a nice amount of condi damage you really wont see the benefit of your burns that much in this meta due to the amount of cleanse people carry thanks to the fact conditions are broken atm and 90% of players run condition builds. you also dont have enough cover conditions to keep burning up vs most things. so to wrap that build up, to much sustain not enough defence, you will encounter a lot of endless fights.

Seven’s builds are magnificent in spvp and wvw these are great since he plays in euro servers. Lots of these builds like core d/d ele was used in 2-3 years ago in North America before June 22 2015 ele nerfs. I wrote this stuff like 2 years ago. Which applies for his Spvp build getting to top 250 in Europe server and fighting cake. The trend are not the same, so I reason makes 100% sense.

ok first off, my build is far from magnificent in spvp, it is not a viable build in pvp atall and i would not advise running it, my (somewhat) success in getting it into the top 250 is more a statement of the current state of pvp and not the builds capabilities over here or over on na. secondly core D/D ele was the meta 2-3 years ago in eu to, the meta’s are exactly the same over here as they are over there. because people will run whats the most viable, having a different time zone separate us does not make certain things more or less viable, EU experiences the exact same meta as NA.

your phrasing at the start threw me off a little at this part, that could be my fault. so let me address the point you make of people not fighting the same, there are also alot of condi builds in pvp on EU just the same as there are NA, and yes there are alot of stun sustain builds as you call them, because as i said before, the meta’s are exactly the same across the board, i run into all the same things whether im on NA or EU. now regarding the roamers, a lot of roamers on EU are also top pvp players, infact the majority of the spvp top 250 leader-board is made up of WvW players simply because alot of pvp players quit due to the lack of a competitive scene in pvp. ive actually found there are alot more “serious” competitive players on EU then there are on NA. if the point you was trying to make was about the players i fight in my videos not being amazing or if you was trying to point out i dont fight top tier players (which i do)its simply because i dont show them fights in my videos, i find heavily outnumbered fights vs sub par opponents to be more interesting to watch then a 1v1’s or 2v2’s etc etc vs skilled opponents, however if that’s something people are interested in see’ing more of, then thats something i can do.

Also team speak or other communication makes small roam and spvp more successful. 300 healing power on a Tempest let alone an ele in North America can’t wont get you far in a 1v3 or 1v6. I can even face tank a zerg of 1v 20 or 1v30 for the first 10-15 seconds of massive spikes and cc but that’s about it. But 1v1 certain builds will chew through you regardless.

your team-speak comment is rather obvious, i dont really understand the point you was making, if you was reffering to the fact me or my friends never use ts, thats simply because we enjoy listening to music and chilling, we dont take ourselves to seriously,
my healing power increases my healing from Restoration signet from 204 healing per skill use to 240, it also increases my regen from 130 to 177, thats a extra 100hp every second, or a extra 1000hp every 10second compared to having 0 healing power, if i was to double my healing power i would increase my signet from 240 to 266 and my regen from 177 to 210, thats an extra 59healing every second, or 590 every 10seconds, as you can see, the higher you start to scale the more the benefit of healing power falls off, and to invest so heavily into healing power you have to sacrifice other stats rather heavily. something you cant afford to do, or you end up lacking the pressure to down certain tanky builds (berserker’s, condi chorno’s etc) sometimes the best defence is a good offence.

Well done but it’s very sad that the population is so low you can be on the leaderboard in high gold compared to last season where you needed to be at least mid/upper platinum to get even a shot at the leaderboard.

It is a shame, this season is pretty dead, it did actually make it a lot harder to climb into platinum tho. The reason being due to the lack of population I’m often being put against top 20players, where as if we had a reasonable population I should be placed with low platinum/top gold players. There just doesn’t seem to be enough however to make balanced matchups

For fights? Id call it a roaming group myself! Havoc squad maybe? I don’t really class it as havoc squads till you reach at least 8 and are organised tho imo, idk. Maybe I’m wrong :P

Lmao! It’s because my call target key is right next to my esc key! I should really change that! I’m not allowed to face roll on ele, my cds are to long on my slot skills and it would just ruin my rotations and get me killed! I wish tho!

Glad to see another d/d ele roamer! Although I personally run marauder’s armour with crusaders trinkets for d/d roaming, there’s an elementalist by the name of Noble that I am quite a fan of and runs this build

As for your inaccessibility for durability runes, I personally find traveller to be quite useful as they contain a celestial stat spread as well as a nice +25% base movement speed.

AoE and mist form are on lower cd now and a lot of the off hand dagger cd have been dropped a good bit. Though i must say ele still die to the “you have all the condis in the game attk.”

Yer the buff’s was nice, especially the RTL buff, it’s nothing game changing tho, just some extra quality of life, every little helps and all
