What Anet is trying to do is … please as many players as they can. Which in my opinion is a silly thing. But hey money is money. If your idea makes many players unhappy … well they wont happen because you alone want them in.

I want to earn mine. I just want to do so in a better way. Simply because you ginded through dungons to get your gear doesn’t mean Anet can’t redesign how its done. I am not looking for a pass, and its possible that getting the Achivements could be more difficult then grinding. As to Anet changing, this sounds more akin to their non-grinding game design then the current grinding, and if things change for the better, the entire player base will benifit.

I got 3 chars on lvl 80 alone and 9 chars total , if Anet made the sets easy to get , i would actually have plenty of use for it.

But that is not the point , the point is , it is suppose to be a grind. Because the only real reason to do it is for looks , anyone can get exo on 80 without much effort , the dungeon ones are just not the ones meant to be easy to get. The looks of the dungeon gear , that is the real meaning to it.

Anet did say there would be grind for looks , while true , there should be no grind for max stats. Exo wise , there is no problem, getting exos is not hard . The real problem lies on ascension gear where you need to grind your soul away to get it.

Do note , people dont do dungeons for fun (most of them fur sure anyway) , they do it for the reward , making everyone get the set fast also means groups going down in number really fast. Heh , soon all that will be left is FotM groups.

Would be nice if people considered that , Anet did not even spent much time on reskins for charr.

Most armors simple got human design and that is it.

I think Anet is at least capable to notice that , they should add races with human figure so the armors fit. Cause they wont be remaking pretty much every single piece of armor over others (like they already showed).

So better keep races human like , cause going past that is unlikely to happen , and even if it does … will mostly look weird.

Hey , breaking news (if we go back to the release date) dungeons rewards involve grinding cause they got cool skins. While you can buy cheap bad looking exos on TP.

And in this game you got grind for cool skins. Simple like that.

Still since Anet now i going down hill in everything that this game said they would stand upon on release , who knows what will happen.

As an engie, I always carry two pistols, a rifle and a shield. Whatever i’m using is equipped (so if I have the rifle equipped, the pistols and shield are in my inventory). I lose 2 or 3 inventory slots, its not like its the end of the world.

Nice … on my guardian i carry all the weapons i can use at all times. I think i lose … 9/10 slots on my bags. Yeah … with weapon swap.

These weapons are awesome.

I really dont like the quarterstaff , it is ultimately a stick , a big stick. And that is it. So i toss my support for halberds , but not for these ones.

I dont think this would really repopulate much , since i dont the majority would be interested on stopping farming fractals where they get better gear to do this.

But i dont see how this would be a problem , and this does give an option to players , so i support the idea.

That is not something 100% “good” to ask , and my main also is a guard.

There is a balance , you know we got tons of self heals and protections , that means our health pool is meant to be balanced over that.

To get + HP means to cut from other of our survival factors.

If that is good or bad depends on each of ours point of view really , for me it is bad , cause im already used to play with my guard, no need to go change the whole thing.

Well yeah , pretty much any change other than the hair , by this is mean hair cut , cause color and other would already make no sense.

So , that kit that allows you to edit your char? That thing alone got no less or more lore sense than a race change kit.

While like i said above , i agree the story must be reset entirely and you must go to picking those elements from the start.

Also , Anet breaks more things they said they would do, than actually do what they said. So really , dont take them to seriously , if they smell the money , they will run after it.

For some reason i can get 60 on my first char , but on my second i get 30 if i run just after.

Now at first i thought it was acc bound , BUT it is not , cause i ran the same day later another path(since i left when i notice i would get 30 for the next paths) … and got 60.

There is some crazy DR counter in here , i still dont know how it works. But does not seem to be 1 hour either.

The solution for you is also simple , use gold to buy gems. Will it be expensive? Yeah.

I keep getting 30 tokens from switching chars also , because we gotta wait sometime , sometime i have no idea how long it is.

It is annoying , 1 because i waste time getting 30 tokens , 2 because the group then gotta find another player for the remaining paths.

Most likely we will , since there are players unhappy and that want this … and like im sure everyone already knows by now , Anet is always trying to make everybody happy.

In my opinion they can just add it , people already dont leave towns much , almost nothing rewarding on open PvE.

Honestly , there are many balance issues , and warrior are pretty good with a minimal effort, but you clearly at best understand just a scrape of it all OP, sorry to break it up to you.

There is MUCH more to consider than what a skill can do if all you consider is the direct damage. You need to look at the overall picture, how each skill can be used with which other, the traits behind them that again change this and so on.

Honestly , i think the idea goes too far.

What i think Anet should equip is something that turned items from soul bind into account bound.

This would solve a lot of problems in one go.

You can also do dungeons , you get karma also.

Im not a fan of WvW , but i have an ele alt lvl 80 geared. So i go and spam spell with the zerg.

I used to be severely against this. But given the current state of the community and how people are literally forcing you to pay for a group for story mode, I’d say I agree. Dumb it down, give nearly no loot, but allow the story mode to be compelted by a decent solo player so they can experience the game.

Well i support that should be possible to solo story mode also. Mostly cause we might want to watch the story on our pace.

But exp mode should be in parties like usual. Dungeons are group content.

I don’t see why Ascended gear would be a “fail” for ANET. My guild and I weren’t particularly affected, and we’re casual players as far as gear farming goes. We found the fractal dungeons very fun and interesting, and the loot gave us things to vendor or salvage. The stats of the Ascended gear hardly affects us.

As far as I can see, GW2 progression are more like a plain, with progression here and there. You do progress in the game, but it’s a nice and calm progression. If you’re 80 and you got exotics, I would say you’re solid enough on stats. The next step is playing through the content, getting upgrades to your looks and stuff, and enjoying the game. There’s no real rush to be super strong, except for events here and there which brings a nice breath of new things to do.

Also, ascended gear seems like a middle ground between exotics and legendaries, don’t you think? I think it keeps in line with what Anet’s been doing so far, and that’s keeping progression at a more relaxed pace than other MMOs.

I’m at fractals 3 and I don’t give a kitten about it :P. Even when I get a lot of fractals, I’ll probably spend it on bags cause I need space, not gear lol.

That is a point of view really. To me is a MAJOR fail.

Also honestly Anet did not make hardcores happy , and i honestly think they will never will. Adding hardcore things like CT generate MAJOR bad feedback.

While most players are fine with ascension cause they can get it eventually (It is not hard , it is just a pain to get) , hard stuff is not like that. Hard content is simple hard , and the community which is for sure a majority of casuals wont take that well.

Could do the CT in less then 3 mins , but only few could do it at all. So is hit or miss.

it needs to find a way to appeal to every kind of gamer.

Problem is, a lot of the desires of one group directly contradict another. Try to compromise and ANET will just end up driving away both. Take gear treadmills as an example, some people like them and want long paths they can never finish, others don’t want them at all. The obvious compromise of a short treadmill means you have one too short for the players who like them and too long for the players who don’t.

Picking a niche and sticking to it is a much better way to ensure success. Especially if there aren’t any competitors in that niche, as it means the players who really like the niche know they have nowhere else to go, so will be a lot more forgiving of mistakes than they would be if there were competitors.

Heh , you would be right , if Anet had not already said intend to add vertical progression to this game , and there is NO promise asc gear will be top also. They can add better ones later , so said their devs.

So for your and mine sadness , Anet already went down WoW path.

So like said above , go repeat FotM 200 times OP , that is what Anet got for the hardcores and it does give better stats gear.

Yeah , honestly , my guild leader makes it very easy on us officers so this is not a major thing i need.

Also i think you should read through this thread first before making any comments regarding storylines. We are suggesting that Storylines can be reset.

So make a new character.

Which would make the first 50-something levels of it completely trivial seeing as you are level 80 and have better gear.

Another problem with that is also the rewards you got from the Personal Story.

Sure if you have the items just like it was it is easy. But some items are consumables and give Influence to a guild.
Some are keys for chests, and some might have been transmuted.

Simply resetting the Personal story is most likely much harder than you think.

No it is not , i at least dont remember anything exclusive given by the story line , even the pact weapons we can buy on the TP , i got pretty much all of them myself., we can also buy influence any time for our guilds if we want with gold.

There is a cost to the story line stuff. Simple add a cost in gems to the reset. Done , people payed the gap right there.

God even now people exploit human story line , where you can make a war rush , do lvl 10 story line with a lvl 4 war and get keys.

what i don’t understand is — what’s the rush? the game offers enough variety that you don’t have to repeat content, if you don’t wish to. ha, not just across five stories, anyway! so honestly, where are you going, that you want everything done, done now, and then no more?

The game also offers soul bound items that there a limited supply off. Not all items are acc bound , not everything i can use on all my chars.

This means , for most , their main is their main. Sure i can lvl an alt , i myself got 3 lvls 80.

But i got 1 main , and that not gonna change unless Anet includes a class/race i simple cant pass on (honestly , i dont see that happening).

It is not only a matter of time. There is things you cant get anymore. And the more we play the more and more things there will be to connect us to that one char we were playing since the start.

A solution is Anet making items acc bound instead of sould bound , but hell i see race change happening years before they add that.

Honestly , i dont get what people are talking about destroying the PvE map. Actually very little would change from now if well made , if it is just an overflow system.

So , does PvE become worse because people are in overflow? I dont really mind it , and it would help player on the very low population zones find others to do DEs and such.

It would destroy the PvE server not because of PvP , it would do so because now you are not playing in server X now. You are in a overflow , that is all. You dont belong to any server, and thus the whole idea of the PvE server is destroyed.

The game itself , changes nothing.

That is the first idea. On the Second one , yes , it would change the way WvW and PvE “work”. While not really changing much.

Players could pick to join one server and from there join different WvWs teams. Again , dont see great importance on this change.

Honestly , i play on a very populated server with a 500 man guild , i dont suffer from these problems at all , what im doing is trying to explain cause it seems most people simple do not get it.

Heh im tired so i will give a quick idea only.

What you should focus is not on the class , which is easy to see , but the skill they use.

For example lets say there is many players fighting + a guard and a mesmer , now lets assume Anet allows guard to make his skill pink.

His fields and such can confuse players , we know it is hard to see much already with all the effects this game got. Imagine now , if those effects were similar to the eye.

Like 2 pink combos fields , but one is mesmer , one is guard. This is an example with mesmer/guard you can fit other classes doing stuff like this.

This is just an idea that came to my mind , there are counter? yes there are , but they would again bring discussion , for example:

Lets say Anet gives each class 1 other color they can pick , then people will ask why class X got the color they wanted , lets say guard skill can become white and mesmer is the one that takes the red color.

Edit: On a side note you can add that you dont want it to be added to SPvP , guess that covers for any problem , leaving only the cost to create this having to be greatly payed by the people that will buy it.

The reward is an item for the legendary weapon , something you can only create with items from both WvW and PvE content. Simple like that.

While i do understand some players only want the little star by the side of their name.

OBS: On a side note , this logic is kind of flawed , after all WvW could say they are not PvE player also , and should get the star or another mark for getting 100% WvW map.

While i agree this would be awesome (my main is also a guard) , i understand there will be implications to SPvP and thus i hardly believe we will see this implemented.

But who knows , if Anet thinks there is money to be had , they might go for it.

Honestly the OP post got NOTHING to do with ganking.

What OP means is to make an overflow only game , no 1 server , but you join always a zone in overflow , this would make zones more populated since they would fill with players and then create a overflow and so on.

To implement this idea actually require a lot of work , but im tired to explain the implications myself.

The second idea was to make PvE and WvW affiliations different , this way a player can join a server for each preference , like a PvE JQ and WvW SBI.

About the account thing , really dont waste your time creating them , just give Anet the money and im sure they will discuss with you about adding it. Money is the focus.

Problem ic with all Kodan is that , they are all exactly the same. Their faces female /male is exactly the same. And they dont differ from one male to another.

In theory Anet intend to use the home instances where you can go and they will be different depending on your story choices. So it does matter on some level.

Honestly , there will be the need to solve the story issue , cant have a norn with a human story walking around , even more IF your choices actually matter for the next exp, that seems totally possible.

You do know that your WHOLE story , with every single choice you made , is saved right? That is the problem.

Really, it would make no sense at all to change the race. Wanna play the other stories? Wanna get all the cultural sets for that achievement? Wanna try the other racial skills? Make a new character! Because of Anet game design tons of items that require stupid amount of time to acquire are all Soul Bound.

To me that is already a gate to not have an alt that progresses, at most i lvl them and keep them pretty. (Got a guardian main and 2 other lvl 80 alts)

What does that mean? Your main will forever be your main, cause most players do not have hundreds of hours to reinvest of the stuff you got for it. If not on the things you eventually wont even be able to get anymore , like certain skins.

Yeah i support this idea, if you take off and item , make it jump into the inv bag directly.

The problem is not where you are in the personal story , but what choices you made.

The story is built based on your decisions over many of the quests.

For this to work i think they should actually reset the story entirely , yes would need to begin from the very start, and also remove your marker on the char selection of order picked, cause now you would have to pick again with the story reset.

Item wise i think that , if the cost on gems is fair enough it should compensate for any unique items you get.

If Anet manages to implant this idea fairly and without exploits or bugs , i would support it.

@Nox, Guild members build reputation for guild, not the guild itself, if guild has a bad reputation, what does it stop to just re-create it, make a new one with a different name etc.

Usually nothing , but in this game we got a lot of upgrades , while true , any guild can rebuild them.

It is not something you can do overnight , takes a while even to a big guild to rebuild all their upgrades.

And , well , there is the matter of the amount of work also , if you can easily just swap all your 500 members (im assuming it is a large guild so it would be able to rebuild upgrades fast anyway, and thus all it would matter is the work from the invites) im sure people would more tempted than if they had to reinvite every single members again.
