Good job Bg, you usually catch up during the week, but took control with ZD’s joining. I love the fact ZD’s have joined na, but a shame in a way as match ups were pretty even before this.

Overall a good week, been tough with only wooden stuff to defend, but we are certainly not the first to experience this, reminded me of the old Deso days.

Anyway if there is any BG guild which wants to fight un tagged and without a massive map blob behind them as we are still attempting to do, then please let us know.

Good game all! Been a refreshing change with the no 4 server actually kicking some kitten as well. Nice that all 3 servers are coming out to fights.

Good job saving your garrison there BG, even though i hate the rezzing of the keep lords, you guys managed that 50 odd times to stop us capping which deserves credit!

So much moaning from sos on these forums. I am a bit confused, they have not turned up this week at all. I see a 30/40 man sos zerg on the map, then walk into their garrison with only 5 defenders.

Seems obvious to me they want silver league and/or their players are so fair weather that at a prospect for a fight they log.

SBI has at least come out to fight at times. Having said that being bored of PVD we stopped doing it and camped dawn’s on SBI last night, even with a wall down they did not attempt to attack it. SO we took a garrison wall down, again we just wanted a fight/reaction, we got that fight versus ac’s and canons.

We went to eb, sos had permanent invisibility on the whole map! At least SBI came to play which was fun.

Anyway I cannot wait for this match up to be over. Everyone is playing some sort of game to go to this league or that and quite frankly it has been the worst match up I have experienced.

Does your large guild really need a reason to zerg everything? You zerg everything anyway. That’s how you hit such huge ppt. You don’t only hit JQ. lol.

Btw our usual mid-week online during EU prime is ~40ppl, and ~5-7 of them usually afk or assigned on scout duty on other borders. And we often don’t have luxury of choosing BL for long time, since we are forced to perform role of firefight team, jump here and there, strike fast and port to attack/defend other objective.

I also have to teleport around and stop attacks. The only difference is i have to do with with 10 people. Right now it is not so bad because i have some back up commanders, but most nights when it is not vacation time i am the only active EU commander outside of EB

Waage you guys do a fine job considering your numbers, so your guild should be proud of that.

As for your reply yesterday, I would like to point out that when we were on desolation fighting vizunah, we would start eu prime with about 100 ppt and facing t3 towers and keeps on every border, yet by the end of eu prime time we would still have taken the ppt lead.

So just because bg only have 2 t3 keeps going into na does not mean there is no chance of evening up the ppt. This is what I was asking, why is it bg have such difficulty in na prime time, is it coverage? is it organisation? Or is the fact SoR has numerous NA wvw guilds that coordinate well causing the difference in score during NA?

I was not being facetious, just wanted to know what the issue is?

SEA maybe, but if SoR had the same SEA as BG (they have more than JQ now) it would be that fabled “HoD 2.0”.

But I don’t think SoR needs any help in SEA right now as they have the sweetest ride in every other timezone. Only reason recently we’ve been able to break SoR’s WP’s during SEA is because ATM isn’t kicking us in the sides every night, I mean they could so easily make us lose this matchup by focusing nothing but us, but Waha isn’t a fool.

It would be interesting to see how well jq would do if ATM actually fought for points for jq, tried to upgrade jq’s keeps/border etc rather than focusing sor with yourselves.

I agree though it is what helps BG compete with SoR. Bg does ok during EU time until east coast NA starts to come on, the real problem for BG is NA and I have no idea why BG does not perform better in that timezone.

On SoR we are all pulling massive overtime atm to try and get back into the match up after being nearly 15k down. It’s not simply a matter of coverage. I know Iron are working in small numbers from oceanic time onwards. Hire and the Asian guilds are doing an awesome job of keeping ourselves in the fight during the period where we simply do not have the numbers.

As for Eu time last night BG seemed to have forces on most maps, even when we tried to pull them off the borders by attacking their eb keep. Was an impressive save at the keep from BG.

RG are the best gvg out there, they practice non stop for gvg and have been together for around 5 years. Only 2 guilds have ever taken even a round off them = VOTF and GH, so does it mean you are crap if they defeat you? Let me know how you guys get on if you ever get the chance to fight them.

Gave me a chuckle though calling Waage a p***y when pretty much everyone knows his motto of finding the biggest bully in the yard and punching them in the throat no matter what the odds are – usually successfully

Personally I don’t give a kitten about GvG unless it’s in the field and for the campaign, in which case we LOVE squaring off against organised guilds such as yourselves when we come across each other.

Waage is correct though, if we partake then it pulls one of the very few organised forces that we have during our prime time away from the fight that matters. We do have some members interested though so you might see an RK team but WvW is our focus and that’s what we build and train for

Good job from SoR overnight to get back into this match. Another good close match up ahead byt he looks of it. The job Merc do for BG is truly amazing. One of the strongest if not the strongest ppt guild out there atm.

Jq considering being outnumbered alot of the time also show great tenacity and fight to stay within striking distance of a win. With just a few more numbers in the eu and na prime times think you guys could push for a win.

After being in eu for so long it is really refreshing to have such well contested match ups week after week.

Do i see JQ/SoR whining about megablobs again? Correct me if I am wrong but pretty sure last reset i saw 80 JQ megablob for 3 hours with like 1 million necro circles so much you couldn’t see the grass. Lets not mention IRON megablobs or TSYM + others megablobs. RG megablobs etc.

I find that’s more how JQ or SoR actually win fights on a consistent basis. Bring in as many as you can to skill lag everyone and since you have 80 they have 60, you should win the “break your 1 key” battle.

There are exceptions, but lets not pretend JQ and SoR run with 30 people and BG is running over everyone with megablobs only.

Lol the propaganda on here is laughable sometimes. Iron run on the community ts outside our prime time, because generally we will have 15-20 on in SEA time and being outnumbered on all maps we need the extra numbers and need to command.

In our prime time we usually run on our own TS, we run tagless and it is a very very rare occasion we get more than 40 people in wvw. Normally we have between 30-40 in our prime time in wvw.

But you like to call us a megablob for whatever reason go for it. If there are no other commanders on the sor ts we will sometimes be on that into our prime time, last night is an example, but we still went tagless for a good 4 hours last night.

Anyway BG run with huge zergs at times as does every server, accusations by any server against others about this is “pot kettle black”.

The 2vs1 is blatant. but i try and take it as a complement that Bg need to do it for the win, so gg.

Gotta say Merc are great opposition, put out pressure so many hours of the day = much respect.

Let me sumarise the last few pages:

1. T1 is actually very competitve and close – but lets troll and moan on the forums.

2. Its ok for SoR to have a 50-100 ppt, but if this happens to jq or bg then its because Sor has recruited too much.

3. Only SoR does pvd, as long as Sor holds 1/2 keeps over all four maps then jq & bg are not pvd’ing.

4. Jq & bg never work in coordination with one another, this is a myph, even if they do not attack one another for hours on end on occasion.

5. SoR exploit…everything.

6. Although Jq and Bg have face rolled t1 for months at a time, there were no inequalities in coverage at these times, only when Sor scrapes wins.

7. SoR is only successful because it blobs, jq and bg don’t blob, in fact miraculously all sor guilds run together on all maps at the same time.

8. Jq and bg are permanently outmannned.

9. In Oceanic and Sea times coverage is even on all servers, in fact sor probably has the advantage in numbers, but the skills of jq & bg come to the fore at this time……

10. Inequalities in coverage are only acceptable if they benefit bg and/or jq.

In conclusion If you can’t beat them on the field lets flame on forums.

I know that at least TW will gvg, but please don’t talk about someone for havign map zergs. TW is known for having map zergs everywhere. You have the best map zergs, but still. Map zergs.

I’m not arguing that TW has run Full Map zergs, every guild in T1 has run a full map zerg. We have however proved that in equal numbers GvG’s, our guild is just as effective. This is what I’m trying to get BT to prove, but I cant seem to pull them from that protective blob.

I still don’t get what’s so great about GvG?
Its just follow the leader, and outlasting your enemy with regen/keeping stability up/ and condition removing. (Something WvW guilds do everyday or should be doing lol)

I’d take 1v1 duels or 5v5(Boon limit) group fights to prove personal skill any day, then rolling in a zerg.
Sadly in T1 roaming and small fights like these never exist, unlike lower tiers.

Your guild will never know until you try once, I can say without doubt that our GvG with AGG was one of the most epic fights I’ve had in GW. Zerging it up does consist of those things that you said but at the end of the day its just zerging. The build up to a big fight, as well as fighting in one, is some of the best nerves/excitement you can have in this game. It’s quite hard to explain, best way to find out what it’s like, try.

I’ve actually GvGed before in previous guilds I was in, it really is enjoyable if you get 2 decent guilds to butt heads. (My opinion not BT’s haha)

Though I doubt BT will ever GvG , its not what they play WvW for.
But discrediting a guilds skill/ performance for not wanting to participate in it, doesn’t seem sensible to me.

I totally agree mate, gvg is a totally seperate kinda game, you have to spend ages preparing and then put it into effect in the wvw environment. Ostrasizing many of your members. Some guilds are built for gvg some guilds are’nt, imao there is no shame in not doing gvg and concentrating on wvw.

Having said that gvg is fun and you learn alot from it. But i remember when golden horde were fighting rg, they took 2 weeks out of wvw for non stop training, it is not always feasible to do this, especially as you want to perform your best.

Anyway I see no issue with you guys not gvg’ing and you should not have to make any excuses for not doing so.

The thing with SoR EU is that it is still based around Iron and the huge pug army. Kiss is a non threat at the moment as they try and improve them self and change into how fights work on a Tier 1 server vs having no one to fight.

It will take them a months time to rebuild them self and then Kiss can become a huge pain in the kitten .

The only reason we can ever get any PTT is because of how SoR moves. Large Army’s going from zone to zone. That tend to get bugged down in long fights where they lose other zones. That is only when we have the extra forces doing overtime.

Still with Kiss slowly getting better and with Iron’s massive numbers it will be hard to win in the coming months and if the rumors are true of yet another EU guild coming to SoR then it will be hard. Still it is of little concern to me because i have a few ideas how to get the best out of this and in the end i will have my fun.

Waage you ever going to stop your bs? since we came to NA in eu time we have run tagless and on our own ts, so I have no idea where this pug army idea comes from. In Sea/early NA yes we run with SoR militia and friends.

As for our numbers yes we are bigger than you, but you make out we fill all 4 maps. During our prime time we usually have between 30-40/45 players, which still struggles to make dents in the 100 man zergs from BG/JQ we come across sometimes and which you guys happily join.

Your non stop flaming of my guild is getting really tiresome. I am sorry you can no longer hit 690 ppt in eu time. But stop crying on the forums, recruit more, try a tactic that works, do anything, just stop your incessant whining/lying.

BG only has a small group of MERC that stay awake (10-15), RK (10-20), and then HB on a night or two. (15-30 themselves, but Smokee and Orc draw tons of pugs to their tags).

It’s really not that large of coverage in comparison to what SoR has.

Really? Don’t forget all those people that pull overtimes. I see them every evening on EU time and I see what happens when I lead a havoc. You have more people available for guarding a yak as we can put into a borderland.
Without our Asian or Sea pulling massive overtimes, we can’t even get a treb built.
So, I really don’t care if it’s “only” 60 people we face.
Sure, SoR is the new fotm server and they can send more numbers than you, but it’s not a great difference if you meet 50 people on the field or 100 when your own group is about 15-20.

Do you BG guys ever complain about your dominance in oceanic and Sea times…..nah did not think so. You are dominant in certain times, we have coverage in others.

Also the times last week when i saw bg and jq zergs standing next to one another not fighting was laughable, especially in EB. Seeing two sides either side of the bridge outside Langor with no intention of fighting each other last week was a bit embarrassingly low from you lot.

Basically if you are going to make agreements throughout a week to focus SoR then ofcourse we will need a way to combat this. Jq seem happy to be bg’s lil kitten, so be it.

Anyway Iron was distracted all last week and ignored the ppt game, we will be back on it this week, so looking forward to seeing how things turn out.

The ppt leading was a bônus rly, BG never started so well on the weekend and mb this give us a chance to have a more equal end to this match.
Probably SoR will get the lead over and over bc the converge you guys have, mostly EU umbalance things a lil bit, but..tbh: who cares?
Just the fights we’re getting this week made me want to logging on for several hours and jump on massive fights all the time! EPIC fights so far imo.

It has been a rough night for BG, I suspect in the subsequent nights, the turn out will be lower from the non-Guildie and thus not provide the level of competition that SoR/JQ would come to expect.

Today, going into NA Prime, IRON did a wonderful job of accumulating the structures providing a strong foundation for their NA. I am sure both JQ/BG EU fought brilliantly and commendable for their efforts, but EU is definitely SoR timezone. Not using that as an excuse, because SoR NA in general played well and would have done well regardless and they showed their dominance over the both servers today. Kudos to you guys.

To BG, frustration aside, we will win with humility and lose with grace, that’s the BG style.

Have we just learnt to deal with the fact that the game is arrow cart wars now rather than guild wars. Or have people just given up trying to get Anet to change their minds about anything in game?

If any keep or tower is defended with 5 or more people and ac’s it becomes ridiculously hard to take. Further helping those servers who can pvd at certain times of day and get stuff upgraded(the problem for Anet is it helps the servers with better coverage even more than the ones with less coverage).

It is hard to find a fight without ac’s becoming involved, one ac will totally imbalance a fight. Rather than fight in open field people are running to the nearest keep/tower/bottle neck to fight under ac fire.

There is only one reason for all this, the damage on ac’s is so op at the moment, and it seems it is here to stay.

Trebs behind doors, ac’s = rams lasting 10 seconds if you are lucky, is that really a balanced system?

It is so difficult for any server winning a match up comprehensibly to continue fighting hard throughout the week. In fact what I have noticed is all attempts at playing properly go out the window.

Dominant servers have stopped having scouts or simply ignoring reports of attacks, as the match ups are pointless exercises in boredom.

The sad thing is it was obvious after this last week, that whatever was in ANet’s mind was going to be a failure, yet they have been far to indifferent to the feelings of the community about this. I can only assume they just don’t care.

Pitting AR against their opponents this week, Deso facing Viz again, Elona dropping yet another tier just shows how awful this match up system is. It needs to be sorted out before there is no wvw community with which to try different things with.

Unless SoR gets BG I and many others will not be showing up next week, its a shame that it has become pointless playing. What exactly are we playing for? I am at a loss at the moment.

I have never wiped so much in my GW2 Career lol. The few wins I did get against you I was following Nightlight and Odinzu.

Lol Thanks mate, I must say that we did have a massive advantage when facing you guys as we had the organised force, with a number of our Uber Rallian allies supporting us. Whereas you guys were a mixture of people from a number of guilds. Considering that you did give us loads of hard fights.

So impressed with TC, the movement and coordination of your allied forces is one of the best I have seen, in a similar situation t1 Vizunah would just have those forces spread out all over the battlefield. I was shocked speaking to Odinzu and finding out he was commanding with Team chat, its amazing that the TC militia fought and moved on the commander without voice comms.

One of the things which is so great about SoR is the quality of all the Allies on the server, this I can see is the same for TC.

Well, BT and VK transferred there from FA. I’m sure most of them just got there this week since the cap was raised. Not sure about any other guilds.

They got a SEA guild from KN, XF or whatever. And now with HB making a comeback, they will have just as much EURO if not more EURO than SoR. BT and VK also finished transferring over.

It’s anyone’s game, BG definitely has the population edge over anyone else though.

BT had most if not all of their active members transferred prior to the server cap increase. There were frequent albeit short drops to very high during the previous weeks that they were able to capitalize on. VK did not transfer as an organized guild to BG as far as I know. In fact, from what I heard, most of their members are in Agg now on DB (edit – 10 players according to the post below). However, XF did indeed complete their transfers from Kaineng when the cap was raised.

Also, yeah Smokee and Orc are back, which is awesome, but don’t expect see the HB of old. I’m guessing they will be playing more casually than they did in the good ole days. Still, I’m sure everyone knows how powerful simply having excellent and experienced commanders on a map can be. We’ll see how things turn out. Hopefully they will be able to bring some fun encounters for IRON, and have some fun themselves.

Anyhoo, assuming the RNG doesn’t throw us more silliness at reset, next week should be exciting. SoR is still the server to beat though. The one-two punch of IRON and a very strong EST NA presence is very tough to overcome.

It’s not SoR’s fault the match up is uneven. We have 3 options

1. carry on fighting and playing for ppt against mismatched servers
2. Stop playing the game
3. Move servers (put more money into Anet’s coffers) – being a cynic I wonder if Anet’s economist was behind the changes to get more guilds to transfer servers.

I don’t see why the game should force us to stop playing or move servers. At this juncture I must admit I do not know what will happen, because if we get another match up like this we wont have much of a guild left to wvw with anyway. And yes it is that bad (half the guild are playing league of legends, some commanders have not even logged into the game this week).

We can’t, and in turn, TC strength can’t really be gauged this week as well. If we didn’t have Dragon Bash and we ha another competitive server in this matchup like DB or FA, this week would be a different ball game.

Thought I’d come on and see how my old buddies on Deso were doing. Think you guys are doing amazingly well considering the resources you now have available and the amount of wvw guilds you have left.

Iron was definately not the only reason we got to and stayed in t1, guilds such as GH, FG, GOD, DSD, EXG, Coin, GT, Omni, TEQ and Bull all played instrumental parts in getting us and keeping us there, as did eternal iron. Deso would never of been successful without these guilds all playing vital parts.

Votf are certainly a great guild but they joined us when we were already established in t1. As for AFTL they are a great guild, with one of the best mentality’s I have seen in my time playing this game.

Anyway hope you guys continue to do well. Think the RNG is awful when trying to build servers WvW. Also hope the Iron hall is still going strong.

Seriously though, I see that IRON isn’t interested in dragon coffers, or are just really motivated to cap everything so they can get to them. +510PPT on a day new content was released? I admit, Canach was a snore; but even I took a day out to check it out.

Majprity of our players dont do pve. Also we are starting to get worried about our rating as BG are about to go above us (Ahh what are Anet thinking), which means we may well get another one sided match up next week.

they have one tactic/strategy – pvd everything when there is no opposition at all, get t3 and put a load of ac’s up and then camp every tower/keep. They never won/win in prime time. You do spout some rubbish sometimes.

^ I don’t know what to say. I’ve fought viz for a very long time being an EU original. They are quinticentially a whole new level of extreme. On the other hand, having fought SOR, it might be an even match as both servers are extremely good.

That would most likely be a week of boredom for both servers. Prime times don’t match up. Given the fact most sea/oceanic seem to have gone to na servers I would guess na would win by virtue of coverage but who knows. I still think Anet would have done better to just have world servers instead of the split. WvW would be healthier over all.

The price of doing that would be slower connections for some people not sure if thats a good trade off or not.

Until Anet decides to merge EU and NA, we can only assume and speculate who will win. I wish there was a once a month thing where the best of each servers, na and eu, will get to fight each other to determine the number 1.

Viz would stand no chance, if they have opposition during night, morning, day hours they will not turn up or be so much less effective. Coverage is alot better on na servers.

I think this entire game needs a Counting Workshop. Seriously, it not hard to figure out the size of a zerg just by looking at it, this goes for your own. If you were outmanned 3:1 you’d have the dumb outmanned buff and literally would be less than 20 people, which you guys(mainly TC really) would have, and you guys are running easily 40+, a server can’t have more than 80 people on a map and i’ve never really since any side other than in tier 1 run a blob bigger than 60.

The match up does have some really fun moments. The issue’s I see is that the competitve edge has been taken away due to huge disparity’s in coverage. It is hard to motivate yourself in this scenerio. I think all 3 servers feel this way.

This has lead to many not playing, levelling other chars, trying different things. In SEA/Eu time yesterday (through no fault of TC’s or SOS’s), we were just border hopping looking for fights, as pvd got boring very quickly. I was just about to log when a TC zerg appeared in EB, best hour I had had all day(even if it was painful at times).

As a guild the turnout this week is way down on normal and it really concerns me that anet decisions are having this affect on our player base.
