T4 is seeing queues in the middle of the kittening day on a Monday and the server side skill lag from zergs clashing is still terrible. How many people are you trying to cram into the same match? I’m pretty sure anet is still using the original hamsters to power their servers, you make them work any harder and their little hearts will burst.
Just go to obsidian sanctum – although the participation display isn’t available while on the OS map it continues to decay as normal and you still receive rewards and pips while participation lasts.
I discovered this when I went to do the JP guild mission at the end of a WvW session.
That doesn’t really solve anything.
Having to sit around afk’ing to get the last of your pips before logging off is the problem the op is trying to solve, which map he does it in has nothing to do with it.
Plenty of protection, regen, and near perma swiftness. Stealth from warhorn/leap through the smoke field or CS. Solid condi removal. Easily reset most fights with CS + QZ.
Although it’s possible he was playing a more hybrid build. Did you notice what his heal was? did he use the sword to attack or just for movement? Did it do a decent amount of direct damage? What kind of food/utility buffs was he running?
If his trinkets were all cele and he swapped the s/w to zerk he would up his healing and put out a decent amount of direct damage with the sword, without hurting his condi damage to much when swapping to axe. Hard to say without seeing a vid or fighting him myself.
If you do it right, while your gank classes don’t need to be in squad, they can provide a lot of support for the main force. But that often means being in ts and working with the commander, not just doing your own thing…
I’m all for using TS when you are running as part of a zerg but if you are roaming the outskirts and picking off the fat kids that couldn’t keep up, being in TS really isn’t necessary.
You aren’t coordinating bombs or following the tag (so you don’t need to listen for sudden direction changes, fake pushes, etc.) and your build should be self sufficient enough that you shouldn’t be getting locked down unless the whole enemy zerg turns to focus and blow a bunch of cooldowns on you. In which case you just provided a nice opening for your own zerg to hit them.
The reason for TS here isn’t to coordinate bombs – it’s so that you have eyes in the back of your head.
If you have dedicated gank, or pick team at your back protecting and picking up stragglers, they are seeing things the commander isn’t. And that information is often gold.
The zerg should have enough eyes to see what’s happening behind them, and if it’s a group incoming that’s out of visual range you will have time to whisper them. If I’m in a gank group I prefer to be in our own TS channel so we arent talking over the commander.
If I’m solo roaming and decide to scout for the zerg/pick off stragglers I’ll hop in TS with them.

If it is flipping camps, curtailing supply, scouting etc then I respect that. However “Roaming” in this day and age is all about ganking and nothing more.

If you’re in one of those guilds that raids outside of na prime you will be running into a bunch of roamers that showed up to help defend something. These people likely plan on going back to roaming after they help defend so they don’t want to bother swapping characters.
Invigorating bond is crap, the heal is mediocre and it ends up being wasted the majority of the time because you should be actively using your f2 and not saving it for a heal. Swap it to protective ward.
If I buy a new account can I get 4 years worth of gold? It’s not fair for new players to have to earn gold that current players have spent years acquiring.

That being said, nobody has to play with people they do not want to play, including squad leaders that can kick whoever they care. People, including commanders asking for voice com, should stick with what they have power over and let go of the rest.
It think that is what the bulk of the people here are saying. Most of us don’t expect someone that is hearing impaired to get in TS, but that doesn’t mean the commander should be forced to bring a person along that can’t or won’t meet their requirements for the squad.

You need to look up Jim Abbott. He’s one of less than 300 people that have thrown a no hitter in MLB. He didn’t demand people make accommodations for him despite being born with 1 hand, he stepped up and showed them what he could do.
Hell the opposing teams would specifically try hitting it to him hoping he couldn’t get his glove on in time, but he would snatch up the ball, pull the glove off with his arm pit, and throw it to first before they could run it.
That’s what happens when a person puts in the effort instead of sitting around complaining that the world owes them something.

It’s been that way for at least half a year, probably longer. I know it hasn’t interrupted heals since they brought the Alpine bl’s back, can’t say for sure before that because I took time off when the only options were EBG or the kittenty desert bl’s.
General supply scarcity: Upgrades used to drain supplies, so most keep defense involved more hand to hand fighting instead of disablers – sieges – repair – rinse – repeat. It had less boring part of trying to grind through the wall. kitten shield gen that blocks trebs and cata foreve
WP every 3 minutes, whereas now it’s wipe once – gg. Made it a lot more satisfying to defend a keep you dedicated time to upgrade, knowing you won’t lose all your hard work just from 1 quickie half wipe
Upgrade customization: paper and wp or reinforced first then wp? More variety of gameplay and balance between keeping a group out or fighting them directly.
Upgraded camps (especially spawn camp) had so much importance in order to safely upgrade the keep.

*Better roaming. There was a lot more build variety pre HoT and a lot less power creep.
*Stability actually working and not being insta stripped from the over the top cc spam.

If you’re complaining about people afk pip farming that has nothing to do with the outnumbered buff, that is happening on every map. I see it happening the most on EBG and home bl because they can wp to commanders quicker to get their participation up.
The outnumbered pip bonus is a nice buff for roamers, you zerglings already get more loot from capping things quicker so this evens things out a bit.

So last night I hit another warrior (full beserker stat like me) for 10k evis (core warrior with might stacks)
I then hit a dire/tb reaper for 5k evis. No weakness on me as bersker stance was up and the 5k was a crit, infact I hot him twice and both were 5k. Now the only dmg reduction they get is while be in shroud or from spectral skills if I remember correctly.
So yeah ofc dire/tb are not an issue.
You remember not correctly. The direct damage reduction is a base mechanic. As a power reaper you desperately need this mechanic.
But a 3k armor + rise! + protection dire/tb reaper in shroud laughs about every direct damage you throw at him. And we don’t even speak about his constant weakness application. Most of these reapers I run into don’t even mind to dodge hardhitters like gravedigger as they cost them 10 to 20% hp – laughable.

But to be fair in WvW I also have met a few direct damage warriors with similar tankiness. My full marauder gravedigger deals 4k damage on them, their evis deals 10k on me. We have a similar healhpool. Couldn’t ever beat one of these even with perfectly timed dodges. The game mode is so full of cheese, it’s ridiculous…
^So much this. 3k armor doesn’t really mean much anymore, it’s all the damage reduction traits, passives, etc. that provide the real tankiness now, and there are plenty of power builds that can abuse the hell out of that tankiness while still dishing out a kitten ton of damage.

She’s talking about how disgusting she was treated because she was deaf, and also pointing out how nonsensical it is that commanders kick people who aren’t in ts, when there isn’t any reason to do so. She also articulated many good reasons why it actually hurts the squad when they do this in a zerg vs zerg.

We are pointing out that being a commander isn’t a paid position. Hell most of them are shelling out their own money for siege so they are losing gold or breaking even at best. This means they are under no obligation to let anyone in the squad that they don’t want in it.
People can complain that it’s mean or unfair all they want but it’s still the commanders choice who they allow in their squad. Crying to anet to remove that choice from commanders just means fewer people would end up tagging up.
Complaining that being kicked from a squad means “they can’t play at all” is just kitten. They can run solo, they can group up with the other people that were kicked, they can tag up themselves and form a squad that’s run on their rules, they can hop maps and find a different tag to follow.
Deciding to spend hours harassing every one on the server because of the choice of 1 person is one of the worst choices they could have made, and it should come as no surprise why they are now being ostracized….. and yet somehow they seem surprised that they are.

Cant afford a tag. Don’t want to lead. Purchase gives me access to advertised content, which includes commander led squads. No one said anyone is obligated to me. No one said ppl must do as I say when leading their squads. But I will call them out for their bad form, and I will do it as often as they do it. Maybe then, they’ll think about not being such a …… w.e.
You can’t keep complaining about being excluded from advertised content (squads) when the option to tag up yourself is available to you but you choose not to do it.

A commander is choosing to tag up. In their squad, it’s their rules. If the commander wants their squad in voice, that’s perfectly fine. You have a choice to join or not.

Play the way you want. Don’t join voice. But don’t be upset if that choice has consequences.
If you think voice doesn’t matter, then tag up and textmand. Set your own squad rules. That’s your choice, too.

I like discord but without Cc a lot of servers aren’t going to use it full time, especially with all the idiots that don’t know the difference between map and team chat making it impossible to use team chat to communicate with other tags.

Well your only real option (since they won’t do anything about PvE being so braindead easy) is to petition for our other weapons to be improved so there are less longbows. Before they nerfed the kitten out of shortbow you’d see a lot of players running that instead. Maybe they could buff the GS so it doesn’t hit like a wet noodle, and fix the sword skills so there isn’t a delay on the evades.

I’d also like to point out Necro’s spamming fear our way worse offenders than rangers when it comes to moving targets around.
Because this games PvE is dumbed down for the masses. Players spam skills on cooldown without any thought as to what is effective.
This isn’t just rangers, mesmers constantly pop illusionary wave, and rev’s use their staff knockback on cooldown.
If engi’s rifle didn’t have a self knockback and warrior hammer was better in PvE you would see those going off constantly as well.
The only way this will ever change is if anet ups the difficulty but that would drive away the casuals and lose them money, so that will never happen.

You won’t be front line, more like midline. From your play description that’s what you are anyhow.
For zerg fights I’d actually stick with marksmanship over skirmishing just for lead the wind. I hate giving up quickdraw but having the longbow pierce is pretty important when people are blobbing together.
between the shouts and swiftness the zerg will provide he really shouldn’t need natural stride, plus the stealth will help to quickly reposition if a thief or ranger starts focusing him. SoS> guard in large scale fights, especially since he can stealth and relocate after using it to compensate for the long cooldown.

Feel free to mess around with the gear choices. Try out combo’s of valk, cav, zerk, assasin, crusader, knights, and marauder, and mess with different food buffs until the stats work for you.
Also if you decide to stick with the omnomberry food there is a much cheaper version that does the exact same thing. I’m not sure exactly what it’s called, it’s some kind of ice cream and it’s about a quarter of the price.

Your build is so kittening all over the place I don’t know where to begin. Your gear choices looks like they were picked by throwing darts at a dart board. You aren’t tanky enough to survive a real fight as a front line player, you don’t have enough damage to threaten anything, you randomly mixed in condi gear for whatever reason.
Your trait choices also make no sense, especially for a zerg fight. Why are you picking any traits that activate on a pets f2? You need to keep your pets on passive and use them very situationally, even then they aren’t likely to survive if you are running in the front line. At the very least you should be running resounding timbre to lower your heal.
Also you are running signet of the hunt (25% speed buff) and natural stride (33% speed buff). The speed buffs don’t stack, 33% is all you are going to get, and if you are in a zerg you should have perma swiftness anyway so neither of these are necessary.
If you are running the signet for the 50% damage buff you are running terrible weapons for it. You’d want to use GS for maul or off hand axe, but even then it isn’t worth the utility slot.
You really need to just start from scratch. My suggestion would be to put a kitten ton more damage in your build and stick to the fringes. Harass the enemy back line and pick off the thieves and such that are trying to focus yours. You could try to go as a dedicated front line healer but you will need to drastically change your build to focus on surviving while healing. This means finding the right amount of stability , stun breaks, etc. and massively boosting your vit/toughness. But you’d probably be better off using a ele or even a rev in that roll.
You forgot to include HoT stats and kitten near every change they added to wvw at the time (banners, airship, etc. )
It really is crazy how far in the wrong direction they went with HoT.
Only good thing to come out of it is my social life improved because I play a lot less than I used to.
I recall that there was a poll to keep the dbls, and it won by almost a 2-1 margin. So this thread is kind of pointless. People want it out there in regular wvw…get used to it.
No, people want new maps, and it was heavily implied that voting for dbl’s destruction meant anet wouldn’t work on new maps. This doesn’t mean “People want it out there in regular wvw.” It just means they will suffer through being stuck with 1 dbl/ 2 abl to keep from having anet put us back on /ignore.
