Wings of Resolve was buffed to 800 range, however using the Absolute Resolution trait causes it to drop down to 600 range. The devs probably forgot to adjust the AR version of Wings of Resolve.

Question about hammer auto attack

From what i understood, its autoattack creates a shockwave that travels away from Revenant, increasing in damage.

That’s skill 2 on the hammer, Coalescence of Ruin. You can tell from the picture’s filename.
Similarly, Field of the Mists is shown as hammer skill 4, Temporal Rift is axe 5 and Embrace The Darkness is Mallyx’s elite skill.

Grabbed some shots from the HD trailer, definitely looks like a new skill to me.
Also attached are shots of the shield skill and the possibly reworked Chaos Armor animation.

On the chaos armor animation: The burst of light is from using Phase Retreat from within the chaos storm, thus granting the chaos armor. The rest simply looks like a new animation for gaining chaos armor.
The aegis effect looks different from normal aegis effects, I assume it’s just part of the new chaos armor animation.

Radiant Retaliation still 100% broken.

When I tested it in PvE I had 2001 Power (~348) and 300 Condition Damage (~243). Testing it caused 350 damage with and without the trait.
In sPvP, where there is an additional 33% reduction, I had 1576 Power (~211) and 1407 Condition Damage (~273). Testing it caused 212 damage with and without the trait.

The trait worked when it was first introduced, I remember it being somewhat underwhelming because I had high expectations and then went to figure out the formula and documented it on the wiki.

Radiant Retaliation still 100% broken.

Tested it in a level 80 PvE area and in Heart of the Mists, can confirm. Radiant Retaliation is simply not functioning, rather strange as it worked when it was first introduced; it’s supposed to calculate retaliation damage as 198 + (0.15 * Condition Damage) with the trait.
In any case I’ve added a bug tag to the wiki entry.

RNG is RNG. I’ve had terrible luck with everything else but I’ve gotten 4 Coat boxes in maybe 7 Vinewrath runs. I like to think Hero of the Wastes improves the drop chance since I had the buff for each run but the first, but Magic Find only affects loot drops and PvP loot.

It definitely feels like ArenaNet intended the Teragriffs to be a hated enemy; The melee variant charges and launches you and the resulting trail destroys projectiles, almost forcing you to fight him in melee range. To make them more annoying, they sometimes cure movement-impeding conditions when they start their charge or lunge.

The ranged variant seems to have no special counter beyond being on a higher elevation (separated by a ledge, not a slope). Jumping over the projectiles has a very low success rate in my personal experience, maybe 10% when I’m jumping over it with forward momentum – about 25% success rate if I strafe while jumping forward.

While Bursting Bramble is not a huge amount of damage on its own (about 1.8k per hit for me) it’s still annoying to be eating a constant stream of damage in an area without higher ground to utilize. When I’m on my warrior alt I tend to just pop Endure Pain and hit it till it’s dead, but on my guardian main I just ignore them and let someone else deal with them.

As a sidenote for the mordrem in general, it’s nice to see that they are capable of using combo fields (Poison Field from Leeching Thrasher, Leap from Wolf) like some bandits (Fire Projectile) and risen pirates (Fire Leap).

EDIT: Managed to get some time properly practicing the jumping tactic in a dead silverwastes map, using the teragriffs at Indigo Cave’s retake event. Timing it so you jump when the Grasping Vines projectile is about 130-160 range away from you seems to have a high success rate for me. The majority of the projectiles would be avoided, they would continue in a straight line and not even reverse or turn.

2) It needs to Pierce. It’s already “Destroying Ranged Attacks” through it’s projectiles… so why can’t it pierce?

Agreed on point 1. As for point 2, I always assumed the magic barrier created in front of you destroyed the projectiles.

I have no idea if this would be hard for ArenaNet to make it happen, but how about splitting the current unblockable into Unblockable and Unreflectible and giving our Sword Wave this new unreflectible skill fact?

Being ‘unreflectable’ is already a property of unblockable attacks. Which is why Anet is erroneously making more and more PvE enemies unblockable instead of just reworking reflects like they should have done long ago.

The fact that an unblockable projectile cannot be reflected is already known to me, what I meant was that the current Unblockable should be split into an Unblockable that only circumvents Blocking (Absorption/destruction of projectiles would be included in this, since it’s practically the same function just without trait interaction) and an Unreflectable that only circumvents Reflection.

Current Unblockable: Prevents the attack from being blocked. Prevents the attack from being reflected.
New Unblockable: Prevents the attack from being blocked. Does not prevent the attack from being reflected.
New Unreflectable: Does not prevent the attack from being blocked. Prevents the attack from being reflected.

This would give ArenaNet greater control over which skills they want to be unreflectable, which skills they want to be unblockable and which skills they want to have both properties.
An enemy’s powerful projectile attack could have the property Unreflectable while not having the Unblockable property if ArenaNet wanted it to work that way, instead of giving it the current Unblockable property that functions as both.

I have no idea if this would be hard for ArenaNet to make it happen, but how about splitting the current unblockable into Unblockable and Unreflectible and giving our Sword Wave this new unreflectible skill fact? The new unreflectible could maybe also apply to Phoenix, Mirror Blade and Ether Clone (so you can’t reflect the phoenix/clone creation but can block the damage).

As for Zealot’s Defense, I don’t think it needs to actually block projectiles instead of absorbing/destroying them or you might as well apply the same to Shield of Absorption, Whirling Defense, Refraction, Sanctuary, Smoke Screen and Ring of Earth.

I’d rather have the projectile speed increased by X% and maybe increase the damage a little bit. If the ability to move while dealing damage and absorbing projectiles were added, I feel the damage would be reduced by a sizable amount which wouldn’t be ideal either.

I don’t have enough time to type it up, but I would LOVE to see a rune that converts a percentage of healing power into power. Similar to other runes and food that convert toughness and vitality into condition damage et cetera.

Someone make it so! Please.

Made one similar to Exuberance and one similar to Undead/Wurm

Rune of Inspiration
1) +25 Healing Power
2) 4% of Healing Power is converted to Toughness
3) +50 Healing Power
4) 7% of Healing Power is converted to Vitality
5) +100 Healing Power
6) 10% of Healing Power is converted to Power
The percentages are higher than those of Exuberance because of the natural lower Healing Power players can attain. In the case of 2051 Vitality and 1407 Healing Power, the latter will grant only slightly lower bonuses (about 3-5 points lower).
Toughness was put as (2) instead of (4) to not compete with the Rune of Fortitude below.
With 1407 Healing Power you can attain:

  • 56.28 Toughness
  • 98.49 Vitality
  • 140.7 Power

Rune of Fortitude
1) +25 Healing Power

I hate to be in the boat of “waiting for new content”. But I am waiting for new content before I purchase more.

I kind of wish these carpets, or drills were like the new kites in game. 5% speed increase. It wouldn’t be much but, without a place to store all these things or a mount on / off button I simply don’t use it enough to justify it. If condition #1 was met. It is enjoyable to see them all over the place though. Clearly a favorite amongst players.

I’d be happy if I could just use my swiftness skills on my mounts without automatically dismounting, my poor guardian doesn’t have a speed signet or trait

That was said 6 months ago in response to a mesmer bug list thread.
A traited ranger longbow would hit for 1500 + 15% = 1725 units, however target tracking doesn’t seem to work as well when you are firing from outside the listed range.

I was fine with the revamped trait system – bar a few strange unlocking requirements – but locking skills even further behind levels just seems off to me. Learning weapon skills by using the weapon in combat felt intuitive to me, acquiring skills on weapons you’ve maybe never used before by leveling up does not feel intuitive to me – perhaps it is normal in other games, I wouldn’t know, but I prefer the current unlocking system.

As for utility slots, the original 5-10-20 progression felt fine to me because they gave you something to play with before you get traits, the 13-24-35 progression feels odd to me – it feels like someone spun a wheel with numbers and threw darts at it to choose which levels will unlock a utility slot.
The levels 30-36 will possibly feel too packed; you get your first minor trait, then 5 levels later your final utility slot and 1 level later you get the option to choose your first major trait.

I don’t mind unlocking the elite slot at level 40 since you already get your first trait point at level 30, and chances are – if you are trying a profession for the first time – you wouldn’t have enough skill points for an elite skill at level 30 yet anyway (that’s how it went for all my characters at least).

Just my thoughts on the subject.

EDIT: After giving it some more thought, it looks like the utility progression is based on giving something new every 11 levels starting at level 2. Then however, it doesn’t quite make sense to me why elite slot is at level 40 instead of level 46 if they wanted to give a new skill slot every 11 levels.

Talk to a Black Lion Trader [Armorsmith] next to the trading post NPCs in any major city, they will give you an option to turn your old town clothes into either armor skins (e.g. Sunglasses) or consumables with infinite uses (e.g. Dragon Emblem Shirt, Boxing Gloves).

I’d love actually challenging bosses as well, the problem is, however, that everything the worldbosses do is pre-programmed and they don’t seem to react specifically to players but just unleash their attacks (This only goes for the big worldbosses with special health bars).

Personal suggestion for the Inquest Golem Mark II:

  • Whenever the observation platform becomes covered with electricity patches, the green pillars around the borders of the platform start to glow and create a reflecting wall between themselves for 2-3 seconds.

As for other bosses that get stacked on around a corner, give them a skill for melee range that makes them retreat some distance and perform a high-damage ranged attack afterwards (enough damage to one-shot full berserker-geared of any class but not enough to kill more defensively built characters).
Obviously the attack will need to be unblockable (and potentially also unevadable) so that it cannot be reflected, sucks for people using a block to defend themselves but otherwise it’ll just be another trivial skill.

This affects all minions from what I can tell, not just the flesh golem. Based on the minions repeatedly changing their stance while standing still, the minions can’t decide whether or not they should enter combat.

As much as I’d like condition guardian to be a thing, this still feels overpowered for certain builds – in particular ones where you max burn duration.

1. A condition spec’ed guardian attacks an enemy target, and stacks ~15 seconds of burning on them using VoJ active, torch #4 skill and purging flames. Assuming no might stacks and the assumption above, this will deal 10,500 damage over the 15 second duration. However, using the proposed torch #5 skill conflagration, he can sacrifice half of this DoT damage to deal it as upfront damage that can crit, equal to 5,250. [In this example, I was simply trying to illustrate how the skill would work].

With this same combo, my build (this is in regards to sPvP) would inflict 36 seconds of burning (32 seconds technically, because you have to let Zealot’s Flame last for its full duration). With 1403 Condition Damage and the +33% Burning damage trait, my burning ticks for 903.07 per second for a total of 28898 damage over 32 seconds.

If I were to use this new Conflagration skill at that point, I would inflict an immediate 14449 damage with a 18% chance to inflict 23119 damage instead (total 160% critical damage) – and let’s not forget the 3612 burning damage inflicted beforehand. Yeah, that’s quite a lot of damage.

In regards to the cap of 9 stacks on burning duration, that combo only inflicted 5 stacks of burning duration.


I suppose the innate lower defense of my build could balance it out, but the possibility of nearly one-shotting a warrior/necromancer with a Barbarian Amulet (again, sPvP) is not that small.

Perhaps an idea could be to have a maximum amount of burning converted to direct damage, somewhere around 20 seconds. Any burning duration past that would be left on the target still.

If the Cleansing Bolts work similar to Water/Whirl’s Healing Bolts – effect applied in a small radius upon colliding with an enemy or surface – then they should be able to cleanse conditions from you if used inside an enemy or at least a few if used against a wall.
Don’t have an easy way of testing this so cannot say with 100% certainty.

I managed to reliably test the Cleansing Bolts against Reef Drakes, due to the amount of confusion they can apply.

Cleansing Bolts…

  • inside an enemy hitbox: 10/10 times my confusion would be cleansed.
  • next to an enemy hitbox: 7/10 times my confusion would be cleansed.
  • next to a wall: 3/10 times my confusion would be cleansed.

Another thing to note, the bolts of Whirl Finishers seemingly have a chance to be sent out towards your selected target. One case especially had all three Cleansing Bolts – from range – aim for a targeted reef drake.
I briefly tested this with Burning Bolts as well, and the maximum range for a targeted bolt to hit seems to be 900-1000 units. Any further and it will display the ‘Out of range!’ message.

I’d like to see a rework of Shattered Aegis, again. This trait has gone from AoE damage, to AoE burning and back to AoE damage. I feel changing this trait so that it applies AoE bleeding could make it a more worthwhile choice for condi guardians, perhaps to fill up the master slot in Zeal.
Shattered Aegis: “When an aegis you applied is removed, it bleeds nearby foes.
2x Bleeding(4s)
Keep in mind that the bleeding will be applied for 5 seconds if you go 30 into Zeal. A guardian fully built for condition damage in sPvP would inflict 1127 damage over the 5 seconds, and inflicts this at the start of virtually every fight.

As for weapon skills, perhaps a buff to Torch #5.
Cleansing Flame: “Breathe magical flames that damage foes and cure conditions on allies. Apply burning and transfer one condition from yourself to foes every fifth hit.
Damage(10x)
2x Burning(1s)
Range: 400”
Not entirely sure about the condition transfer part, but you’re breathing magical flames over your foes after all. To balance, increase the cooldown to 25 seconds.

The suggestion to make Orb of Light more fire-based is interesting, but rather than changing the projectile only the detonate effect should be changed. Perhaps something similar to the trident’s Purifying Blast.
Detonate Orb of Light: “Detonate the orb to heal nearby allies and burn nearby foes. Orb of Light takes four times longer to recharge if detonated.
Healing
Damage
Burning(1s)
Radius: 240”
I feel the already existing longer cooldown mechanic balances out the addition of a single second of burning.

Transmutation Charges are for the new wardrobe system.

Any (yellow) Transmutation Stones that you have now can be converted into charges at a 3:1 ratio, and any (blue) Transmutation Crystals that you have can be converted into charges at a 1:1 ratio.

e.g. If you have 153 Transmutation Stones and 12 Transmutation Crystals, you can convert them into a total of 63 Transmutation Charges.

As always we ask you to try out the new system of customization and see what’s available to you. I think many people will be surprised by how many pieces have become armor compatible.

Since both my shirt and my gloves have been confirmed to become endless tonics, the best I can hope for is that my Endless Tonic of the Dragon Emblem Shirt outfit and Endless Tonic of wearing a pair of Boxing Gloves will not overwrite each other, and my Sunglasses armor skin will still be displayed while under effects of the tonic(s).

We hope the benefits to the outfit system and wardrobe in terms of future support and additions will be clear, and you can look forward to more new outfits coming very soon.

I’ll be looking forward to what new things we’ll get, hopefully good things

While I am a bit annoyed that I can no longer mix-and-match to my liking, I can understand why this was a necessary change to be able to expand upon the system.

EDIT: Though I do still wonder why I can’t simply use my Dragon Emblem Shirt as an armor skin; if it is in regards to being unable to identify what armor class someone is at a glance, the Pirate Captain’s Outfit (e.g.) will make anyone look like a Medium armor user, so I don’t see why the Dragon Emblem Shirt couldn’t be allowed as armor skin.

A few more details on toys. Costume brawl toys are not tonics… Almost all of them will be usable with armor, outfits, tonics and other transforms.

The exception is boxing gloves, which is a brawl toy plus tonic in one.. so it will not combine with other looks, and Sonic Tunneling Tool… which scrubs transforms off you when you go underground.

And now I am 100% confident I can not retain the town clothes I want to use on my main, as both the Boxing Gloves and the Dragon Emblem Shirt will be turned into separate tonics.

Instead of having one tab with my dragon emblem shirt, boxing gloves and sonic tunneling tool items only one button press away, I will now have to fill up three inventory slots if I want to use them – and then I can’t even use the Endless Tonic of wearing a Dragon Emblem Shirt outfit and Endless Tonic of wearing a pair of Boxing Gloves together.

Prior to the patch that reduced the health of the knights, I was getting 1-4 power cores almost every time (let’s say 95%). Since that patch, I get 1-2 power cores maybe 5% of the time. I do get rare loot more often from the holo chest since that patch, though that may just be my luck.
/shrug; I already have enough power cores to make two of each color – if I wanted to – from before that patch anyway.

Ooohh, I love that city! I always go there for all my crafting, trading post and guild bank needs as they are but one waypoint away without a loading screen. The only times I went to LA was to show off my gear while afk or use the Mystic Forge, which I rarely need to use.

Yes, they are. It equates to the number of chains you successfully sever.

Those are Hoard of the Marionette Warden I – V.

Triple Marionette Chest and its variations are what I’m talking about. The wiki says they’re acquired from the Twisted Marionette, but a look at the chat code tool on Dulfy shows that nobody has obtained any of these yet. (Items will only show up in the tool once a player has acquired them)

Different computers for different folks. Anyway, I don’t think ANet should NOT put out content based on people who have subpar computers.

My i5-3570 and AMD 7850 gave me 10 fps. I know they are not top end, but I’d say they are decent. At least for any other games I’ve played I’ve never had fps issues.

I’ve got XFX Radeon 7850 and i5 3570, but I get a fairly steady 30 FPS during the Marionette fight. Wurm however brings me closer to about 15 FPS; 5 if the plan is to zerg down one wurm at a time.

You’re using the wrong rank token. Using a Rabbit token will get you a Peacemaker weapon, however, for a Molten weapon you will need to use a Paid Tournament token.

You can get these tokens by salvaging Solo Queue and Team Queue rewards, e.g. Forge weapons or Orrian armor (see here for a list of skins that have a chance to salvage into Free or Paid Tournament tokens).
PvP Achievement Rewards chests drop the same items as the Solo Queue and Team Queue reward chests.
