From the shark necro elite i guess the elite trap is sadly real though, and of course the thief guild can still not carry underwater weapon for no reason whatsoever.
First thing i looked when i saw those leaks was if the thief elite was a trap in order to see if i could trust them or not.

Hmmm i have all the mats for a gift of fortune in my bank, Easily over 100g worth of mats in my bank that are not related to it and like 620g.
The only thing i’m waiting in 2014 are like super adventure box world 3/4 and crafting one of the new underwater legendary (if there’s even new ones for those) as a farawell gift.
Otherwise there’s Dark souls 2 and Tree of Savior informations coming in 2014 so i guess i’m excited.
I lost all hope for venoms once i heard they said “we felt that venoms were almost there”. Then i saw the immobilize change and couldn’t stop laughing.
Still have hope for traps though, but the fact they only touched one of them in more than a year pretty much shows i’m crazy to still have faith.
Immobilize can now only stack 3 times.

The necro heal was butchered, i have to agree it looked to be the worse by far.
Healing venom is still pretty bad (well it’s a venom) but at least it has an initial heal and can brainlessly be included when building for venom share.

Yeah you’re lucky in your bad luck, it’s one of the best legendary of the game (personal opinion, it was pretty bad at release but now it’s glorious).
Also the precursor has a pretty good name, especially for this situation. You can link it every time you rage because of something in game.
Keep it in your bank, maybe one day they will release a huge underwater patch (sadly i’ll probably not be here when it cough never cough happens) and it might increase in price a bit.

The only use of this venom is in venom share PvE for dungeons/bosses. But the cooldown is just too high. Warrior banner regen gives you a better return. As do waterfields. Infact I can’t see any use for it.
I bet a necro using the new signet will provide more healing over time than the new thief venom and will provide extra dps on top of it. Also they don’t have to destroy their damage to do it.
Venomous aura is a given but with a smaller radius and give half charges to allies (5 charge = 2 charges for allies, 1 charge = 1 charge).
Venomous aura give full charges and a larger radius.
I dunno really, as long as they stop being terrible without having to invest 30 points in a traitline i’m fine.

This is starting to rise into the realms of the surreal. All these details cannot be accurate. What you’re describing is blatantly garbage – an indie developer wouldn’t let this pass QA. I’m not even making a dig at ANet, I’m honestly convinced something has to be wrong here (or this is an early build of the ability, etc…), because as described, this skill is provably worse than our current options in nearly every single way.

No, I am saying that I don’t want the balance of the thief held hostage by a 15 point minor in critical strikes so we need to take that initiative away from there and put it into the base class mechanics, which is exactly what we are doing.

What about shadow refuge then, this class has been held hostage to that skill since release and it’s still not being nerfed.
And what about the balance of venoms being hostage to a 30 point trait, that’s fine i guess, they suck on their own but they can potentially become useful (let’s be honest, you WILL nerf devourer venom to 1s immo per charge sooner or later, that’s just how it works because of this broken trait).
I understand your choice with ini regen, it had to be done, but the compensation are poor. Honestly this class is a mess, most weapon set doesn’t make any sense (scrap everything that isn’t s/p, d/p and shortbow, trust me that’s just how bad it is, you can even include the sword stealth skill), some utilities sucks (venoms and traps mostly), traits are aweful (there must be 3-5 worth trait by line and i’m generous). Really, you’re better removing this class for a while and rework it, i wish i was joking but that’s just how bad it is.

Probably worse than ever (i’d argue this set was the most balanced thief set before last nerfs, and maybe most balanced set of the whole game), then again i barely play anymore so i’ll let you judge.
I never look at them, there’s not much to press in this game anyway.
I don’t really see the point of rerolling, the other classes are boring as can be so why even bother.
Otherwise i’d have rerolled a long time ago.

Ini regen will be worse in general. Opportunist was that good, actually this is a major nerf to s/p, once again.
Finally, now that this class is getting obliterated we might actually see some good changes.
I hope they will make some silly weapons (moot, dreamer, quip style), of course not for weapon who already have those.
I stopped caring about it after realzing it was not an underwater helm, i’m not even joking.
Still looks pretty cool though, and they even adapted it for the charrs which really surprised me.
Maybe i should look what i looks like on my asura engi in case i decide to level it, might be interesting actually.

You should quickly learn to only join 5 vs 5 hotjoin or tournament soloq (i’d suggest hotjoin 5 vs 5, especially if you’re new in pvp).
8 vs 8 is just there to farm glory or to get daily pvp quickly to be honest, otherwise it’s a total waste of time.
5v5 Hotjoin > SoloQ.
Think about it, you won’t care if people leave, you won’t care if you ragequit because your team is bad, actually why would you ragequit anyway since nothing is at stake (not that there’s something at stake in tpvp anyway), no waiting time be it to find the match or before the match begins.
tPVP for the 7-9 round i did was plagued by the exact same things, afkers, ragequitters, players not giving a kitten about objectives, etc… Why would you even play this mode unless you have a full team.
I thought players would have figured it out by now.

This person knows what is good, further proven by the “underwater content” part and the emphasis on scarlet’s death.
Do not drown everything underwater or craft an underwater base featuring doomsday weapon in order to start an attack.
It’s pretty obvious that 80% of the heros of tyria are completly undergeared and undertrained for underwater combat.
If bubbles wanted to destroy everything he could probably just launch an all in attack after a fast drowning featuring tsunami(which would be enough to destroy almost everything to begin with) and there’s nothing that could be one about it.
Same goes for kraits in the next patch, they obviously dominate everything underwater (except largos maybe) yet they decided to build a stupid tower instead which will probably feature them fighting underwater for 1 minute at best, a plan already bound to fail against an army of twilight/sunrises weilders. And did i mentioned the overpowered air drop golems we may had the chance to use during the orrian invasion? One could probably wipe everything by itself.
As for NPC, all that they have are tiny underperforming submarines that get destroyed by 3 risens and ships that pretty much did nothing else than drowning or turning into risen ships.

No thanks underwater combat is terrible and can’t be fixed, it has always sucked in MMOs and will forever.
It’s the same thing than land combat but with z axis, and sadly less weapon and utility (and of course trait that weren’t made for it). Saying underwater combat can’t be fixed is the same as saying combat in this game sucks to begin with. If anything it has more potential, especially when it comes to bullet hell boss phase.
1) Underwater content future
2) Class balance
3) Time gated content/Daily activites (daily/ascended craft/etc) and the feel of being enslaved to the game.
My prediction for next patch nerf, devourer venom is now 1s immo per charge.
Think about it, it could result in yet another potential s/p nerf on top of “fixing” the immo spam, they won’t be able to resist the temptation.

Only reason i used sop on s/p was for the steal daze if i went 30 in trickery (2s instead of 1s unless i was mistaken), otherwise i didn’t bothered with it.
Bah, i guess i’ll just roll a troll trap lock build with my thief or a full offence vampiric necro, might aswell have some fun until this gets sorted out. Or maybe venom share since it must be ridiculously lame with the immobilize changes.

1s daze was useful for ranged support (or even during battle to be honest).
It was also useful if you were more interest in the auto attack chain for the cripple with 1s of breathing room and/or to surprise them with a fast interrupt unlike the first strike of pw. I guess you can still use bp, which will be more effective at it if the target like to stay inside it and worse if it moves around, still cost a bit more ini though.
I also liked to use daze then pw instead of autos to change things a bit.
It was basically nerfed as a support tool and as a mind game tool, which is a massive nerf for my playstyle at least, but overall i agree most people will probably be far more annoyed by the pw change which is simply breaking the set at this point.

Do not forget 1/4s daze fo heashot instead of 1s.
Good change, it would render S/P 100% useless, nobody would ever bother using D/P at this point, it would also damage the thief MASSIVELY in PvE and remove the only “viable” source of defence P/P has access to.
Also if pistol weren’t meant to do physical damage, why does unload and the +10% pistol damage trait even exist to begin with? Not that i don’t agree this set would be better off being 100% support/condi based but it’s obviously still not what anet wants it to be atm.
if you have a problem with D/P and perma stealth (especially in wvw) then next time make a thread about changing infusion of shadow, i might actually agree with you on that one.
Useless change for p/p, renders dancing dagger close to useless for p/d but overall a good change for the set.

S/P was nerfed to oblivion, what the hell. Here goes my favorite spec since release getting hit once again for no reason whatsoever.
I give anet 2 patch max before nerfing devourer venom to 1s immobilize instead of 2, , thus further proving venomous aura is a design flaw and should either be removed or be a given to the poison without a trait. Also really funny how i have a choice between 4s immobilize (up to 6+ or more with venomous aura) or 3s of chill (up to 4+ or more with venomous aura).

If it was the path with the one shot bees then this is terrible news. Otherwise the other paths are terrible so i don’t really care.

2. ignores the Z axisThese are the oddest things I feel the skill has. They corrected a ton of other stuff to respect line of sight, but this allows you to teleport directly through walls. One would expect to it function like any other blink, but it doesn’t because it’s not a ground targeted ability.
I’m pretty sure the guardian sword skill and meditation does the same. Could be wrong though.
But yeah, overall i agree this skill (and shadow refuge even more) needs a nerf. That being said this class also needs major buffs pretty much eveywhere else as a compensation but that won’t happen.
Underwater combat is for true men, such a shame there’s only one capture point in the whole spvp maps that is actually interesting to fight for.
Still waiting for a two plane boss fight, underwater + land fight.
I can probably wait a long time though.
If you look closely you’ll notice the TKS guild probably decided to kill him there.
